A/N: Even though I loved the finale of Loki, it broke my heart at the same time. All the things left unspoken, the friends who stayed behind with many questions and no answers..

A few days ago I listened to a song - Rea Garvey "Perfect in my eyes" and it inspired me to write my version of the aftermath. English is not my mother tongue so please keep that in mind. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing this fic! And oh - it will be Sylkie but with a strong Loki / Mobius friendship. Reviews are wanted and appreciated.

When she closed her eyes she didn't know what awaited her in her dreams.

Like dreams always are, you can't remember where it started or how you got there.

The first thing she remembered was a strange, white light surrounding her, sort of foreign but at the same time familiar too.

She sat up, trying to make sense of it, to get a better view.

The light was all around her, circling her. With eyes wide open she watched it kind of dancing around her.

It came in rays. She couldn't trace them back but it was like they were guiding her in a specific direction.

She watched them with wonder and curiosity and at the same time her heart seemed to start beating faster.

And so she stood and took the first step.

Sylvie sat down on the van with her McDonald's meal.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, only a few small clouds in the sky.

"You know, sometimes I catch myself looking up there, wondering if you look close enough..maybe you can see a green light."

Sylvie gave him his coffee and apple pie, a hint of disgust on her face.

"I don't know why you love this coffee so much, it's really crappy."

Mobius took the beverage and the pie, a satisfied smile on his face. His eyes still looking at the blue, almost cloudless sky.

"It's delicious," he simply stated, biting down on his pie. "The man who had the idea of this hot, sweet, delicious thing should get an award." He obviously meant the pie. No pie, no Mobius. He moaned a little in gratitude. "I would give him one, that's for sure."

Sylvie rolled her eyes and took a sip of her coke.

"Don't you ever wonder?" Mobius asked with a lost- in - thought voice, catching up on the topic before the pie.

"I'm too busy for stargazing Mobius," she answered in a sharp, slightly annoyed tone which got the attention of the agent.

He looked at her from the side and when he didn't turn his head back she turned her head, too, looking at him.

"What?"

He had that typical Mobius - gaze, interested but almost analyzing. And a hint of a smirk.

He could be so annoying.

Sylvie took a deep breath and turned her head back.

"I have a restaurant to lead and I have my girls," she added almost defensive.

A few months ago, she was asked to do a training to become the branch manager of the restaurant in Oklahoma. Besides she was leading a Capoeira course for young girls.

Mobius sighed and lowered his head to take another bite of his apple pie.

For a moment there was silence. They both sat beside each other, eating and drinking. It was not a weird silence, not at all. There was a connection, a shared story, a bond.

Mobius was the first to break the silence.

"You're dating again?"

Sylvie nearly jumped at that and looked at the man beside her.

"How do you..?"

When she realized how, she groaned in frustration and anger.

"B15"

Mobius laughed at that.

"I'm going to kill her," Sylvie stated.

Mobius laughed even harder.

"Impossible. After she told me, I suggested her to submerge for some time."

Sylvie shook her head and took a long sip from her coke.

"So" Mobius started "What's the name of the lucky guy?"

"Matt", she started, then thought about it.

"Brad...no, Chad!!" She thought for another second but yes, that was his name. But she cursed herself because Mobius was amused.

"Lucky Chad. What do you say, am I invited to the wedding..and if yes, will there be apple pie?"

Mobius couldn't keep back his wide grin. He was such a pain in the ass.

"Oh, piss off Mobius!"

He clapped her on the back, cleared his throat and took a deep breath.

"Can I ask you a question?" His voice was more serious now with a hint of curiosity.

Sylvie sighed, "As long it isn't about swooning over the sky or about my sex life."

Mobius thought for a moment, then shook his head.

"Neither. You know, I'm a curious person and I always wondered what happened on Lamentis 1?"

Sylvie looked at him and began to complain, "I thought it wasn't about.." but stopped herself to get this into another direction. No need to fuel this on. So she just shrugged like it was no big deal.

"He teleported us there, we almost got killed, tried to get the tempad going, smuggled us on a train that should rescue us from getting killed, he got drunk..no..very full!.." she raised her finger and tried to imitate his voice "..beyond all repair, sang an Asgardian lovesong.." she paused at the memory, almost lost track on what she wanted to say.

She cleared her throat when she realized and continued.

"Nearly got us killed...again, tried to get off this fuckin planet on foot, realized that wasn't going to happen, sat down and accepted the fact of sudden, painful death getting crashed by a giant planet."

Mobius looked at her with curiosity and amusement.

"He sang an Asgardian lovesong?"

The enchantress raised an eyebrow and looked at him.

"Seriously Mobius, that's what caught your attention?"

He chuckled: "Of course! Didn't take him for a Johnny Cash."

Then he thought for a moment about the man he was talking about and his tendency for drama and attention seeking.

"I revise my statement. It fits."

He grinned, "And you just sat down and what? Smoked a cigarette, drank a margherita and waited for the big crush and the white light at the end of the tunnel?"

Sylvie looked at him with a snappy grimace, eyes pressed slightly together, "Yeah, pretty much sums it up."

Mobius nodded and seemed to be okay with her statement. But she was wrong...of course, he was Mobius.

"I talked to him after that, you know. About you two meeting each other, about the Nexus event. It was very interesting. So here's what I think: You two shared a moment of connection."

Sylvie waited for his laugh, for him grinning at her, but it didn't come. Instead he had a serious expression on his face.

"..real connection"

She looked into his eyes and all of a sudden tears started to well up in hers. She quickly looked in the other direction, held her head a little higher to clear her eyes, make it go away.

She stood up, anger flooding her.

"Break's over Mobius. It was nice to see you. Stop by at any time."

"You never thought there may be a way to get him back?"

She was already heading into the restaurant again but his words made her stop. So she stood there, her back against his, taking deep breaths for what felt like eternity.

"It was his choice, Mobius. It was his choice to sacrifice himself."

She took a few more breaths, even deeper than before but the tone of her voice began to change.

"His big sacrifice for us all, unselfish, altruistic, pure charity... yeah right." She sounded bitter now, sarcastic.

She turned to him again and Mobius saw the tears in her eyes.

"He shot us out and made the decision...ALONE. But it was his great sacrifice, right?! He saved us all. So what excactly would there be to complain about, Mobius?!"

She paused for a moment and looked him deep in the eyes.

"So, no, Mobius, I'm not sitting on my veranda, swooning over the sky with puppy eyes and a bumping heart, hoping to spot a green light ...because I don't wanna know."

Her face was like it was made of stone now, her voice hard and sharp.

She turned her back on him again.

"I don't care."

Putting her feet to the ground it lighted up, too. It was like walking through water or jelly, kind of stiff but also easy and beautiful because of the light.

Her mind was cloudy, a bit like she drank too much but not in a bad way. She felt light like a feather and so she walked, following the white light that seemed to guide her.

With every step she took she seemed to step out of the cloudy feeling, like slowly awaking, but still in a dream.

A dream in a dream.

She closed her eyes a few times and the light slowly turned into a pale yellow.

Sylvie shook her head from time to time when the cloudyness got heavy again and slowly walked the way, sourrounded by the now bright yellow rays.

And all of a sudden she realized the light wasn't white or yellow.

It was green.

Realization hit her hard and for a moment she thought her heart would stop.

She pressed her hand against her chest. It was still beating but beating like a drum.

Catching a sharp, deep breath the last bit of cloudyness disappeared and her eyes wided in shock.

She was there.

Yggdrasil.
