i like to keep my promises, and said i would do the rest of this series next (aka this) december but arugh I've been too busy and when I'm not busy writer's block is whooping me and making me go 0-3. such is the sad fate of growing up and getting a life...
i at least wanted to write one thing though so i cooked this up! not the most complex plot but i wanted to give out something sweet and warm for christmas. mainly to my fellow sontails enjoyers! merry christmas to you guys!

Sonic was exhausted after a long day of adventures, so he decided to head back to his boyfriend's place to unwind. As he entered, he was delighted to find Tails waiting by the fire, a warm mug of hot chocolate in his hands.
"Is that you, Sonic?"
A look of joy and surprise fills Tails' face as he puts the mug down before dashing over to Sonic and giving the hedgehog a warm hug.
Naturally, Sonic returns the hug with just as much affection.
"In the flesh!" Sonic replies with a chuckle, patting the two-tailed fox's back, "You seem happier than usual to see me. What's the occasion?"
"Well…" Tails smiles, a bit nervously, now taking a step back to grab and hold the mug up to Sonic.
"I, uh, made this for you! It took me a while to get it just right, but I think you'll like it," Tails looks down shyly for a moment before looking back up at Sonic and mustering up the courage to ask Sonic with excitement in his voice; "Wanna sit down by the fireplace and relax for a bit together? It's pretty cold outside right now."
Upon hearing this, a spark of excitement ignites in Sonic's eyes.
"Oh? Now that sounds like the best way to relax," Sonic says, instantly zooming over to the couch that was close to the fireplace and hopping onto the squishy sofa cushions. The blue hedgehog turns his gaze back to Tails and pats the empty space next to him.
Without hesitation, Tails flies over towards Sonic and sits down next to him. Once he offers the cup of hot chocolate to Sonic, with the blue hedgehog taking it without question, he pulls up the blanket that was folded next to the couch and covers Sonic's body with it. After a split second of hesitation, thinking it might be too much, he gently hugs Sonic from behind while wrapping his large and fluffy twin-tails around the both of them.
"I hope you don't mind this," Tails says softly, letting out a small giggle, "I'm just trying to make sure you're comfortable. Is this warm enough for you?"
"It's perfect!" Sonic answers, his body practically soaking in the warmth of the fireplace, blanket, and Tails against him, "You're spoiling me so much, babe."
A bright smile spreads across Tails' face as he watches Sonic taking a sip of the hot chocolate he made for him, his ears twitching excitedly as he leans into Sonic's back even more, being very mindful of the hedgehog's quills.
"I try to, at least," Tails modestly replies, before his tone changes to be a bit more playful, "Now the question is; what do you do in return for me…?"
"Oh? Not so generous after all?" Sonic jokes with a chuckle, snuggling up into the fox's side, "Hmm.. Let me think..."
Sonic strokes his chin, pretending to be in thought when in actuality, he already knew what he wanted to do.
"How about this?"
Sonic shifts his body slightly so that he is facing Tails properly and leans forward slowly, bringing his lips closer and closer to Tails'.
Unbeknownst to Sonic (probably), Tails has been looking forward to this moment all day. He's nervous, but also very excited. Without thinking or hesitating, he immediately closes his eyes and puckers his lips in anticipation.
The sweet scent of cocoa fills his nose as Sonic leans in closer to him, moving his soft and warm lips closer to his, and fortunately for the fox, he doesn't have to wait long. When their lips finally connect, a sweet taste mingles on their lips in their intimate moment, and Sonic can't help but lean forward even more into the kiss.
Tails' body trembles slightly from the sensation of the kiss, and he's in absolute love with the feeling. He quickly lets out a soft gasp and opens his eyes as he feels Sonic's warm breath on his lips, accidentally breaking the kiss.
A small giggle escapes Tails' mouth as he tries to fight away the bashfulness he felt from the kiss, yet he can still not hide the blush that had spread across his face.
Sonic almost pouts feeling Tails breaking the kiss, as Tails' lips were doing a pretty good job at warming his own up, but he doesn't complain too much.
"What's so funny?" Sonic playfully asks, continuing to curl up to Tails' fluffy side.
"Oh, it's nothing," Tails replies with a warm, gentle smile and a content sigh, "I was just a bit surprised by the kiss."
"Oh? Well, can you blame me? You're too cute not to kiss," Sonic unabashedly flirts with a wink, "...That, and it's freezing out there!"
Sonic emphasizes this by shivering with exaggeration, getting another small laugh from the two-tailed fox.
"But luckily for this blue hedgehog, that makes you a pretty great heater, Tailsy!"
A bright smile spreads across Tails' face upon hearing those words, especially at the affectionate nickname. He squeezes Sonic a little tighter around his midsection. The two of them are seated very close to one another, enjoying the warmth of their bodies and the comforting and relaxed atmosphere.
"Oh, so that is what I am to you now? Your personal body heater?" Tails teases with jest, a smirk on his face.
"Mmm… Your fault for being so..." The blue hedgehog yawns, "Warm..."
Sonic feels like he's being turned into putty with how warm and comfortable being next toTails felt, and it was a nice feeling, but it also made him feel quite sleepy...
As Sonic yawns, Tails notices that the hedgehog's ears are drooping slightly, and his voice is sounding increasingly tired. He immediately leans his head down towards Sonic's shoulder, wrapping his arms around the hedgehog's body to form a snug, comfortable position for him.
"You seem tired, Sonic," Tails whispers softly, "I don't want to keep you up. How about you get some rest?"
"I think you're doing quite the opposite of keeping me up, babe..." Sonic says, ending with another yawn, and leaning his head against Tails' body, which honestly could be his pillow at this point, "Not only a personal heater, but also my special sleeping-aid, heh..."
Watching Sonic's eyes slowly close and the hedgehog's body slumping further and further against his own, Tails can't help but feel a bit drowsy, too, with his eyelids beginning to grow heavy.
"I guess I've been doing my job too well, then…"
The room soon falls into comfortable silence, as the two held each other for a long time, just enjoying the warmth of each other's company and the fireplace that lay beside them.
"This is nice…" Sonic softly mutters, falling gently into a peaceful slumber, all while Tails smiles sweetly down at him, "Very nice…"
"Yeah…" Tails hums, taking Sonic's idle hand in his, "It really is."
