Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter

Chapter 1

"Show me again. I want to see my husband again."

"I cannot. The visions do not just happen. I am tired, we are going to have to end it there tonight."

Dakota slumped down in one of the black leather chairs that adorned her office, along with two bookshelves along the walls, and a desk and office chair opposite the door. Her wish came true. The old witch decided not to pursue her inquest further, paid Dakota for her services and left the office with no fuss. Dakota opened a bottle of whiskey and poured herself a glass.

Dakota was happy. As a sovereign seer, she could see into the past and the future at will, but this came with a terrible price. It also meant that she had random visions, some were about her own life, but most were of other people she had just met or were old friends or family. Dakota Malfoy was the younger sister of Lucius Malfoy, aunt to Draco Malfoy, she knew her family had an association with the Dark Lord. She had tried to stay away from the family, since Hogwarts. It was hard enough being a Malfoy yet being the Malfoy that had been sorted into Ravenclaw.

As Dakota was closing her little shop, she heard the door open. She turned around and was about to yell at the customer, who clearly did not see the closed sign on the door, she gasped as the figure came into view.

"Professor Dumbledore. What a pleasure to have you here. I did not expect you."

Dumbledore looked the same as he did 20 years ago, when she attended Hogwarts. He just didn't age.

"Sorry, I came to you because I have nowhere else to turn. Thought you might have had a vision that I might show up unexpectedly."

Dakota smiled at him. She knew he had a seer right at Hogwarts. Professor Trelawney. 'Whatever he was after must be pretty important to not involve her' Dakota thought to herself. Dakota believed she had outgrown her teacher, but there were some things she still needed to learn about seeing the inner eye.

Dumbledore looked uncomfortable. He shifted on his feet, then spoke "I have this student, Harry Potter who seems to get into trouble and finds himself in dangerous situations, just like his father. Who you may know I believe. I would like to keep a closer eye on him, to try and steer him on the right track away from danger." Dakota looked surprised. She did indeed remember James Potter, him and his gang terrified the school, setting off pranks and getting into trouble wherever and whenever they could. They must have spent the most time of any student in detention.

'Who was it?' Dakota pondered. "It was James Potter and Sirius Black and Lupin, Remus Lupin and that mousey little kid, who was he? Peter, Peter Pettigrew.'

"I remember James Potter" Dakota announced moments later. "Him and his friends."

Dumbledore nodded. "I thought you would. I seem to remember you were friends with Lily Evans, Harry's mother?"

Dakota blushed. She remembered Lily. Lily had this way about her, making you feel safe, welcome and loved. She loved being at Hogwarts and made everyone she touched feel it too. She and James had this thing between them, it is no surprise to Dakota that they ended up together. Dakota is just glad that she didn't go with Severus, he was bad news that one. All Slytherins were.

Dumbledore pulled a small vial from his robe pocket. "This is a type of Polyjuice potion, but it feeds off memory rather than DNA. Professor Snape invented it. What I was planning was for someone to take this potion and befriend Harry at Hogwarts and make sure he stays out of trouble. I was wondering if you would do me this favour?"

Dakota was shocked. Dumbledore was asking her to become a thirteen-year-old version of herself and watch over Harry Potter. She was thirty-three years old. She looked slightly confused for a while, then realising five minutes had past, without her saying a word, she replied, "So let me get this straight. I drink this vial and become thirteen years old., watch over Harry Potter and report back to … who? … you?"

"Yes. That's' it. We will need to refresh the potions' spell once a week, but Snape seems to think he has made it last a week max."

Dakota still looked stunned. It was one thing to use a newly discovered Polyjuice potion to change into your thirteen-year-old self and wander around Hogwarts. But to also watch over and protect Harry Potter seemed impossible if he was anything like his father. She kept quiet thinking about the legalities of this type of use of magic. It must be important if Dumbledore was asking.

"I would love too. So, Harry takes after his father then? His knack for getting into trouble" Dakota asked. "You also said that the Polyjuice potion works on memory, rather than DNA? How does that work?"

Dumbledore nodded "That's right Dakota. The potion feeds off a memory of the age you want to become. You must let it fill you, be consumed entirely by the memory, a happy memory works best. I know that Lily was a good friend to you, so it will be hard talking to her son."

Dakota had a sad smile on her face. "Yes, I was heartbroken when I heard the news of their deaths to, He-who-must-not-be-named. But if you need me to look after Harry I will."

Dakota remembered her childhood prior to Hogwarts, playing with her older brother Lucius outside Malfoy Manor and making forts at nights and on the weekends. Her parents were so proud of both their children. However, things changed when she was sorted into Ravenclaw. She received a Howler from her mother the next day, same as Sirius Black being sorted into Gryffindor, not Slytherin. Her parents disowned her, and she found herself drifting further apart from her older brother too. She spent every holiday she could at Hogwarts, and during the end of year break, every day wishing she was back at Hogwarts. Hogwarts was her home.

"So, will I be in Ravenclaw again? Or the same house as Harry, I am assuming he is in Gryffindor?" Dakota asked.

Dumbledore, who was flicking through one of Dakotas magazines, looked up at her and spoke softly, "You were in Ravenclaw yes. If you want to stay in that house, you are most welcome too."

Dakota smiled.

Dumbledore got up from the lumpy comfy couch, he had sat on and got ready to leave, "I will see you at Hogwarts on 1st September. Meet Snape and myself around midday in my office. I will lift the barrier for apparition for the hour."

"Sounds great Professor. See you on 1st September."

Dakota nodded and with that Dumbledore disappeared in midair. Dakota remained seated and thought about that conversation. She was both honoured and hesitant to be chosen. She decided that she would have to change her last name, as she knew that Lucius had a son at Hogwarts, Draco and he must be in his third year or something.

"Greengrass" Dakota said. "I shall be Dakota Greengrass after my mother" and she smiled and continued to close the shop.
