Chapter 3: Childhood friends
I don't own Pokémon or Assassination Classroom I only own my OCs, I get information about Pokémon and moves not only from the games, but also from Wikidex, so I appreciate the information.
English is not my main language so there may be translation errors.
Teacher's room
There in the teachers' room was at that moment the young Akihito who had barely arrived at the place along with the teacher Yukimura who was doing some paperwork with which they both began to talk.
Akihito: "How have you been, Professor Yukimura?". He asked the teacher with a smile.
Aguri: "Alright, thanks, I've been pretty busy teaching my students and I've also been researching various information about the different Pokémon and habitats here to record them in a special research yearbook". He said it with his usual smile, "By the way, it didn't cost you to get here". He asked curiously to which Akihito started to get a little nervous.
Akihito: "Ah, well... it was easy to get to the main campus, but on the way here...". He was interrupted when he nervously crouched down while continuing to speak, "It was very difficult to climb with the wild Pokémon in this place. We were attacked by a herd of Beedrill and Ursaring, there was a strong river current that if it wasn't for my Oshawott would have taken me very far and there were also rock avalanches that luckily were small, so we were able to avoid them thanks to my Pokémon, but we were very tired from getting here". He finished saying while still crouching to which his Oshawott patted him on the back to calm him down. When Professor Yukimura heard that, she felt a little uncomfortable, but she remembered that this was how this place had always been.
Aguri: "Don't worry Nakayama, the same thing happened to me, but you'll get used to it". He told the young man as he stood up from his place to give him his hand to get up, to which the young man accepted his hand to get up, but at that moment Aguri came to mind what he had said to his Pokémon then who asked him a question, "Excuse me Nakayama, a while ago you had just mentioned yours's Pokémon, did you manage to catch any Pokémon?". She asked Akihito making him turn to look at the teacher and give her a smile.
Akihito: "Yes, before coming here I had managed to capture a Pokémon because as I had promised, today I would start using the Poké Balls that you had given me earlier. Go Dreppy". He told the teacher as he took out his Poké Ball from his pocket and threw it into the air to make his Dreepy come out.
Aguri: "Wow, that Pokémon is amazing. I'm surprised you find this type of Pokémon". She said in amazement as she sized up Dreepy.
Akihito: "Yes, it surprised me too and more so because they usually come out at night, but I was lucky enough to find it during the day and luckily it has become my buddy Pokémon, right Dreepy". He said excitedly to the teacher while giving a smile to his Pokémon who also gave a smile to his trainer, "Well now let's move on to what's important since I'm ready to receive my Pokédex and I can officially begin my journey as a Pokémon trainer". He proudly told the teacher, although the teacher saw it with intrigue because she thinks it is time to ask him about the class, taking advantage of the fact that they were both in the same place.
Aguri: "Hey Nakayama, before giving you your Pokédex I wanted to ask you if you have already met any of my students". She asked him with doubt and intrigue to know if he was able to meet his students, to which Akihito gave her a slightly gloomy look while lowering his head a little, to which the teacher worried about Akihito, but Akihito would answer later.
Akihito: "The truth is that I did run into them, although to be honest Oshawott had entered the classroom earlier while he was still resting from the climb. Once I realized my Oshawott was gone, I quickly went to the classroom to pick it up and saw the students for a few seconds and I didn't really introduce myself to them, I just said hello to my friend since then. I thought you were in the classroom, although well it was my fault for being late". He said nervously while still having his head down. While the teacher will continue trying to convince him to join the class.
Aguri: "Nakayama I know that you are not good at socializing well with people your age that is why you ignore them as if they do not exist, but it would be good if you at least tried to get to know them better, they are good people and several of them went through or have problems similar to yours". She told him seriously, while trying to convince him.
Akihito: "I'm sorry professor, but you know that I don't like to socialize well, that's why I've been studying at home since I started high school and I also heard that in this classroom they discriminate against you, and I don't want to run the risk of enduring ridicule and beatings". He said it with a bit of annoyance and sadness, "Seriously, I'm okay with that, at least I have these two friends who will be with me on this journey, and of course my best friend". He gave a sad smile to the teacher, who also felt sad since she knew Akihito's past well and that his only non-Pokémon friend was his manga fanatic student Fuwa, to which he had to accept his request as long as he has confidence that his students can try to convince him to join the class so that he has more friends and fellows that they can really trust.
Aguri: "Okay, but still keep in mind what I told you". She said already exhausted while sighing.
Akihito: "I will remember". He said that although he still felt uncomfortable about what his teacher had told him, he was not angry with her, but he did not like her to talk about it because he did not want to remember some bad things from the past, "Well, how about we change the subject and go after my Pokédex?". He said to give him his Pokédex.
Aguri: "Yes that's fine". She simply nodded and smiled at him, hoping that he would soon become one of her students.
Class 3-E
All the students in the class were paying attention to Fuwa since she knows the coach, so she was going to tell them about her past, how they both met and became friends, and at the same time know what their attitude is to help them become friends and become your classmates.
Fuwa: "Well, it all started 7 years ago when we were both between seven and eight years old. At that time, we had entered our second year of elementary school". She commented as the scene changed to a flashback.
Flashback
It was a morning of class at a Tokyo elementary school, the new school year was just beginning for these children.
In a classroom that was class 2-B there were several children at their recess time, some were having lunch and others were playing with each other, everyone was having fun except for a lonely boy with black hair and dark blue eyes who was in class a table alone while eating with sadness and discomfort, that child is Akihito Nakayama, at that moment his teacher approached his student.
Teacher: "Is everything alright Nakayama?". She asked the child.
Akihito: "Yes I'm fine, thank you teacher". He said with a fake smile.
Teacher: "It would be good if you met up with your fellows". She told the child about it, but he didn't like the idea of having friends.
Akihito: "So I'm fine teacher". He told his teacher shyly, which the teacher saw made him uncomfortable but knew that since it was the first day, he would be able to make friends later.
Teacher: "Okay Nakayama, if you need anything, let me know". Gave him a warm smile.
Akihito: "Yes, thanks". He told her teacher when she left to see her other classmates. At that moment Akihito felt sadder and more uncomfortable while eating because he doesn't want to socialize with people his age.
Once he finished eating, he took out the recent volume of the Super Mario manga, which he managed to smile while reading, and he laughed at some parts of the manga since he always relaxed when reading some manga or watching something on his television in home. As he continued reading his manga, a little girl started approaching him.
Little girl: "Wow, this is the new volume of the Super Mario manga". The little girl said, surprising the child who was scared when he heard his fellow appear out of nowhere or rather, he didn't pay attention to him when he came here, Akihito turned to look at her and see his partner who had violet hair and eyes, "Do you think you can lend it to me when you're done, please?". The girl commented, but Akihito didn't know what to say so he started to hesitate.
Akihito: "To-to-to, we-we, I". He stood there all flustered, not knowing what to respond, until she patted him on the shoulder to calm him down, something that surprised him.
Little girl: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, I didn't mean to". She said with all sincerity, "If you don't want to lend it to me, that's fine". She said timidly. Akihito, seeing her honesty, mustered up the courage to answer her, although he said it timidly.
Akihito: "D-don't worry, I know you didn't want to s-scare me, it's-it's just that I'm s-shy around n-new people, e-especially if they're my-my age". He said it with all the courage he could muster. His fellow gave him a smile because she was worried that he had done something bad to her and before commenting anything, Akihito had extended his hand to her with the Super Mario manga, "I can gladly lend it to you". He said with good intentions to which his fellow was surprised and gave him a big smile.
Little girl: "Thank you very much, I promise I will return it to you soon". She said it with a cute smile making the shy boy blush slightly as he tried to give him a smile too although he had a hard time doing so due to his nerves, but he soon became curious to know his name, considering that they just entered today, and he still doesn't memorize the names of his classmates.
Akihito: "B-by the way, what is your name?". He mustered up the courage to say it before his fellow left and upon hearing that he turned around with a big smile.
Little girl: "My name is Yuzuki Fuwa". She said with a cute smile: "And what's your name?" She asked him the same question he asked her.
Akihito: "M-my name is Akihito Nakayama". He said with a little more confidence to his fellow.
Fuwa: "What a cool name". She said that until the bell rang, which meant lunch time was over, "I promise that these days I will return the manga to you". She said smiling as he nodded his head as they settled down to continue with the class.
Two days had passed after the interaction, Akihito didn't have the courage to talk to her again, he would just wait for the moment for her to give him back his manga and just continue as he was before alone since he was still afraid to socialize. It was time for me to return home. While he was walking, he only heard a little girl's scream, which made him very nervous to know whose voice it was.
Fuwa: "Wait Nakayama!". Little Fuwa shouted as she approached her fellow, who simply became more nervous.
Akihito: "W-what a-are you doing h-here Fuwa!?". He asked timidly.
Fuwa: "I'm on my way home, apparently we both live nearby". She told his partner that he became more nervous as if he were about to faint, and before Akihito ran away, Fuwa took out the manga he had lent him from his backpack, "Here, thank you very much for lending it to me, I really had a great time reading the manga". She said with a big smile making the child calm down a little when he saw that he returned the sleeve.
Akihito: "You are welcome Fuwa". He said without hesitation, but he still had in mind the need to flee and before he could do so his fellow continued speaking.
Fuwa: "Do you think I can accompany you since we are going in the same direction?". She told his partner, making the child feel nervous again.
Akihito: "No, well". He didn't know what to say, but because of the kind way he behaved earlier I had no choice but to accept, "Yes, i-it's fine". He said a little calmly so that both children began walking towards their respective homes.
They both continued walking but Akihito was nervous.
Akihito: 'I know she was nice, but...'. He thought as he saw his fellow who was walking happily, 'I'm not sure if he's someone I trust'. He thought nervously as they continued walking.
Fuwa: "Hey Nakayama, do you really like mangas?". He asked with a smile as his eyes shined with sparks.
Akihito: "W-well yes I really like reading mangas". He said nervously as he continued walking until which she stopped and turned to look at her partner and proceeded to grab him by the shoulders while shaking his body.
Fuwa: "Really!? Great! What is your favorite series!? What mangas do you have? Do you buy Shonen Jump?". She said all excited while continuing to move her partner in a somewhat rough manner.
Akihito: 'What strange little girl'. Thought with white eyes until I stop thinking when I try to talk to him.
Akihito: "Fuwa could you please calm down?". He told his fellow to calm down to which she realized what she was doing and blushed a little now she had just done it.
Fuwa: "I'm sorry, I'm very fascinated by mangas, especially Shonen, and I was very excited to know that you like mangas too". She said with a little shyness and embarrassment. Akihito watched as she apologized, to which he responded bravely.
Akihito: "Oh, don't worry, you just took me by surprise, and I see that you really like mangas". He said calmly when he saw that his fellow was already a little calmer, "And well I have some manga series like they are Super Mario, Pokémon Adventures, Beyblade, Dragon Ball, One Piece and Hunter x Hunter, although I plan to have other series later". He said sincerely while blushing a little.
Fuwa: "Cool, in my house we have a room full of mangas and magazines, as if it were a bookstore". He said it proudly surprising Akihito.
Akihito: "DO YOU HAVE A MANGA BOOKSTORE IN YOUR HOME!?". He shouted comically surprised by what his fellow said, and Fuwa saw how he reacted to seeing him behave that way and she no longer saw him behaving very shyly so she did not hesitate to smile proudly.
Fuwa: "Yes, although I inherited many of these mangas from my parents and my brother. There are certainly many varieties of Shonen manga since my father owns a book and manga store. That is why I am very fascinated by Shonen mangas, since I love the drawing styles and the history that each series has". He said with a lot of honesty and pride in his smile, the boy Akihito saw how his smile formed, but what he saw in it was different from his classmates he knew before, it was a genuine smile and great passion, feeling happy to see someone who has a great passion like yours, so you couldn't help but smile at him.
Akihito: "That's great Fuwa, you have real admiration, so I respect your passion for mangas". He said with the biggest, most honest smile she had ever seen on him, making the girl surprised by the calmer demeanor of her shy companion, but this also made her smile.
Fuwa: "Thank you very much Nakayama". He smiled back at his partner, "I hope we'll be friends from now on." The latter surprised the child because he did not want to make friends but seeing that she was honest and had a passion like his, he did not refuse to accept her offer to become his friend, so he gave her a sincere smile and happy.
Akihito: "Of course Fuwa". He told her with a smile and they both began to laugh at the beginning of this new friendship.
After a few minutes, Akihito had arrived home, but not before saying goodbye to his new friend who surprisingly lived about two streets to the right of where he lives, so they both agreed to go to school and return to their homes.
The next day
Akihito: "I'm leaving mom". He told his mother as he put on his shoes in the entryway and adjusted his hat and backpack.
Mom: "Be very careful son". She saw his son in the living room.
Akihito: "I know mom, anyway my friend will accompany me, see you". He told his mom with a smile as he closed the door. His mother was very relieved that her son was smiling like that again and that yesterday he had made a new friend and she saw through her window the girl who became friends with her son so she couldn't stop smiling while tears came to her eyes. Upon returning to the room, he approached a shrine with a smile.
Mom: "Hey Hayate, our son finally made a friend after so long". She told her husband at the shrine that she showed him a photo of him looking like he was in his almost 30s with short, spiky gray hair and dark eyes.
Flashback end
Fuwa finished explaining the story of how they met.
Fuwa: "Since then we have been best friends, and I honestly don't regret anything". She said with a big smile forming on her face, as everyone looked at her with a smile as they watched her become their friend.
Kayano: "Wow, that was so nice of you to want to be her friend". She said with a big smile because he admired that kindness.
Sugino: "Although when you see someone with a Shonen manga, you quickly try to go in and talk a lot to the person reading it". He said in a mocking manner, although in the end she was telling the truth as she would try to squeeze the last of the talk about a favorite series either with anyone who was reading or talking about a series she watches, since it had happened with some of her fellows in this class.
Fuwa: "Sorry, but you know how I am, since I love the variety of stories that Shonen mangas publish". She said smiling.
Nakamura: "I'm surprised they've had that friendship for so long. Are you dating him by any chance?". She smiled devilishly to which Karma joined him, while Fuwa began to blush trying to deny that.
Fuwa: "No, of course not, we're just friends!". She said still blushing, while some laughed and others tried to bother her, until the class representative interrupted her to change the subject.
Isogai: "But there is something that doesn't quite add up to me". The representative said in an intrigued manner, "He's supposed to act very nervous, as you and Professor Yukimura haven't told us, but when he came in, he seemed the complete opposite of what he told us". That made everyone also think about what Isogai said to which everyone agreed that that personality is very different from how she said it.
Kimura: "You're right, he seemed like a more energetic and open person". Said the boy.
Fuwa: "Yes, the truth is that-". They were about to respond until they heard a small scream.
Akihito: "Thank you very much Professor Yukimura, I will be sending you information about my journey, see you". The young man said simply leaving the room along with his Pokémon that walked beside him.
Taking advantage of the moment of his departure, the class representatives came out to greet him cordially and ask him if he would like to join the class.
Isogai: "Hello, you are Nakayama". He asked the young man to which he nodded, "I am the representative of the class Yuma Isogai, and she is…". Before introducing his fellow, the young man interrupted abruptly.
Akihito: "I'm sorry, but I have to go right now since I'm going to start my Pokémon journey so I can't waste any more time talking to you two if all you want to do is bother me, come on guys". He said with a smile as his Pokémon ran out of the room, but the way he responded was somewhat rude which made Kataoka angry about it.
Isogai: "Hey, wait!". He told the boy who had just left without paying attention to him.
Kataoka: "How rude of you, who believes yourself to talk that way?". He said with an annoyed tone to which the other classmates heard and saw what had just happened, while Fuwa slapped her in the face with her hand.
Karma: "Wow, it looks like we're going to have a new Terasaka who's going to be his bullshit". He said it with his sarcastic and mocking character, to which Terasaka was upset by the comment he had just said, but before saying anything Fuwa hit him on the head, "Oh, and why this?". He asked the girl who had just hit him.
Fuwa: "Don't talk that way, he's nothing like Terasaka or even you and Itona". She said, upset because her friend is not a problem like her three fellows, who had headaches at first.
Nagisa: "I hate to say this, but the way he spoke to them sounded a little rude and it seemed like he didn't have much interest in talking to us". Nagisa said about what just happened, to which his fellow just sighed.
Fuwa: "Yeah, and I'm sorry friends, that was one of the reasons I was intrigued, because I knew this was going to happen". This surprised his fellows because of what he had just said, "But he's not a bad person, I swear, it's just that since he doesn't know how to socialize well, he just pretends they don't exist, that's why he only greets me". She said a little sad.
Okuda: "What are you talking about?". The shy girl asked with more hesitation.
Fuwa: "What I mean is that he doesn't trust people or rather people our age who want to try to be his friend, because he is afraid of being betrayed and hurt because that has happened to him before". The last thing he said surprised most of the room, but not in a fantastic way but in a worried way.
Kanzaki: "Wait, that's why I didn't want to listen to Isogai and Kataoka". She said worried.
Fuwa: "That's right, he didn't mean to do it on purpose, it's just that he's afraid of interacting with people he can't trust well. That's why on the outside he looks very calm and energetic, but on the inside, he is a very sensitive person and is afraid that someone will hurt him again". This made everyone more worried at seeing someone who can't trust people, although at first if they were bothered by the previous behavior, it quickly faded because it reminded them of the classmates in the other classes that they were supposed to be their friends, but once they all fell into class E they quickly ignored and discriminated against them.
Okajima: "Hey Fuwa, do you know what happened to him to get like this? I want to try to help him trust us and be our friend". The boy said, surprising not only the girl but the entire class with his words, to which several fellows would soon join with smiles.
Sugaya: "I also want to help him; I want to at least talk to him about the drawings of the mangas he has read". He said with a smile.
Kurahashi: "Me the same, I hope you like to talk a lot about Pokémon". She also smiled happily.
Yoshida: "Count on me too, I think I can teach you how to drive a motorcycle". He said all excited to try it.
All the classmates began to comment on their support, to which Fuwa smiles with joy when she sees how her friends are supporting them.
Fuwa: "Thank you very many friends, you are all amazing". He gave a smile to his friends as they smiled back at their fellow, "Well I'll tell you what happened". He was going to tell them until the bell rang, so he couldn't talk about that topic, "Guys could stay after school to continue telling the story". She told his fellows as they all nodded and others responded with a 'yes', as they tidied up their desks and sat in their respective places.
Outside class 3-E building
Akihito: "Well guys, we already have our Pokédex, now we are ready to start our Pokémon journey". He said proudly as his Pokémon screamed in excitement, "Now the first Gym Leader is in the Minato Zone so let's go their guys and while we're at it we can find a new Pokémon to be even in battle". The two Pokémon clung to their trainer's legs while he petted them happily, but at that moment a bad memory came to him: 'No one wants to be your friend, you should be dead freakier'. This made his head shake, but he quickly shook his head to ignore that memory, "Ok, let's go". He told his Pokémon as they started running to go straight to the first gym so they could earn their first badged.
Now Akihito will officially begin his path to being a Pokémon master, but what bothers the young man about being able to make new friends and win his first badged? Find out all this and more soon.
