A few hours after leaving Raven Tail's base, Ben's group arrived at Sun Village. A timid Flare got out of the car because she felt guilty about leaving the village. The giants happily welcomed her back though.
No one blamed her for doing that, they were just happy that she was fine. It made her happy as well and she finally gained the courage to talk. She apologized to them for making them worry and promises not to do it again.
The group spend the night there because the giants wanted to hear Flare's stories. They were angry after knowing that Raven Tail was taking advantage of Flare's innocence. She was oblivious to the outside world, so she thought what Raven Tail did was normal.
In the end, the giants agreed that Flare needed to learn more about the world. So following Ben and Mira was the right thing to do. The two of them are trusted by the Eternal Flame and that's enough reason for the giants to trust them too.
The next day, Ben and Mira decided to leave and Flare will follow them as planned. But before they left, the giants rewarded them for completing the job request. They even gave some more for Flare's living cost in the outside world.
The giants gave them a lot of pieces of gold and jewelry from the village's treasury. All the gold and pieces of jewelry were hundreds of years old, so they will fetch a great price when they are sold. They meant nothing to the giants though as they had no use for them.
Ben and Mira can take as much as they want, but they only took a moderate amount. They didn't want the giants to think they were greedy. Besides, all of these were for Flare's living cost, so it's not fully theirs.
Also, Ben doesn't need others' money, he can always make his own money. Money gained from his own sweat and blood is sweeter than money received from others freely. There's a unique sense of accomplishment if he can get what he wants through his own effort.
Ben's group finally left Sun Village after bidding farewell to the giants. They return to Magnolia using Light Runner even though Ben installed a teleportation door in the village. He wanted to enjoy the trip back home and Mira wants to show Flare the route to Magnolia.
Flare is still shy and awkward with Ben and Mira, but they don't mind it. Even though her expression is quite peculiar, the two weren't bothered by it. They've seen many kinds of people, so this was the norm for them.
On their way to Magnolia, they talk a lot to make Flare comfortable with them. Ben and Mira teach Flare some common sense as well. They know and understand her situation, but others won't, so they need to teach her before she interacts with people.
"Flare-chan, your magic is hair manipulation, right? Do you mind showing it to us later?" Mira asked with a friendly tone.
Flare nodded and wanted to show them immediately. Mira stopped her though because they were inside the car.
"I mean later after we enter town and head to the training ground." Mira said hastily.
Flare realized her mistake and immediately apologized. Mira told her not to mind it and then they talk about Flare's magic. Like they thought, she lacks experience and Ivan didn't teach her correctly.
Ivan taught Flare and the other Raven Tail members to fight dirty. It's not that Ben's against fighting dirty. He believes that there's no right or wrong in a battle of survival, so dirty tricks are not wrong in his mind, it's a form of strategy.
However, relying on dirty tricks has it's limit, and that limit is low. Knowing how to fight properly is more important than knowing how to use tricks. These petty tricks were nothing compared to sheer overwhelming power.
"Alright then Flare, aside from teaching you about society, we will train your magic too. Don't worry, you will have a lot of friends, real friends, not fake ones like those guys in Raven Tail who have ulterior motives." Ben said.
"Y-yes, thank you." Flare said.
They keep having a friendly conversation on their way back to Magnolia. Slowly, Flare started to get used to them and talks more. She even called Mira a big sister and Ben a big brother because she wants to have siblings.
Flare is 15 while Ben is 21 and Mira is 23. So it's true that she's their younger sisters when it comes to age. She is even younger than Lisanna, but older than Wendy if they don't count the time Wendy and Lisanna were trapped on Tenrou Island. Even if they count it, she's still the same age as Wendy.
A few hours later, they arrive in Magnolia and Flare is amazed by it. Magnolia was fascinating. It was bright and colorful, the exact opposite of Raven Tail's base's dark and gloomy location.
Ben drove slowly after they entered the town because there are a lot of people on the streets. The townsfolk all recognize Ben's car so they all wave at them. Ben and Mira lower the windows to greet the townsfolk.
Flare lowered her body to hide from the people's sight. She is surprised by the situation and is too shy to show her face. She still took a peek every once in a while to see the people of Magnolia.
"W-why are they shouting at us?" Flare asked, scared.
"Don't worry Flare-chan, they aren't angry with us, they are just greeting us with a loud voice. Look, they're smiling, aren't they?" Mira asked.
Flare took a better look at the people and realized that they aren't angry. She's still too shy to come out of her hiding place though. She peeked every so often like a curious little kid.
Sometime later, they arrive in front of the Fairy Tail guild hall. The mages inside were as rowdy as usual and there was a big brawl going on. Mira told Flare not to worry about that as they were just having a friendly match.
Everyone saw that Ben and Mira had returned so they all rushed to the entrance. Most of them ask about the two's honeymoon, except Kenshin, as he was about to leave to go on a job. Ben said he wouldn't tell them anything. A honeymoon is a couple's business, so it shouldn't be shared with the public.
However, Mira doesn't feel the same and she started to tell them about the places she and Ben visited in the last few days. Ben's expression turned dark as everyone walked away from him to hear Mira's story. He just sighed as he gave up on even trying to stop Mira because she won't stop.
While everyone else's attention was on Mira's story, Ben took Flare to meet Makarov. The old man is at the bar like usual and the waitress placed two glasses of water on the bar as Ben and Flare get closer.
"You still look good, master." Ben said.
"What's with that greeting? Did you hope something happened to me?" Makarov asked while raising an eyebrow.
"Of course not. I'm just worried that someone your age will injure their back if they sit for too long." Ben said with a smirk.
"Whatever. So this is the girl that you mentioned before?" Makarov asked.
"Yeah, she was in Ivan's guild. She agreed to leave Raven Tail and follow me. I want her to join Fairy Tail." Ben said.
"Alright, I can't refuse the 4th guild master's recommendation. You wouldn't just let anyone join our guild anyway." Makarov nodded.
Makarov then put a Fairy Tail mark on Flare's right shoulder. The Raven Tail mark on her left breast had been removed and replaced with the Sun Village mark. Ben told Flare that she didn't need to remove the Sun Village and she was happy with it.
"What about Ivan?" Makarov asked.
"I teleported him and the other Raven Tail members to the Council building. Sorry about that, but I couldn't just let him go free. I've found a trace of Zeref's involvement with Raven Tail. It would be too dangerous to let them go free." Ben explained.
Makarov was surprised to hear that Zeref was involved with Raven Tail. He knew that Ben wouldn't lie about something like this. His expression became bitter because in the end, Ivan is his son.
