Reset to OG 2012
2012 was another crappy year. Part of it was Elizabeth propping Sam to Jason; another was her lying. Much will be told in summary, as I mainly wanted to correct Elizabeth's hesitation to tell Jason about the DNA tests.
Chapter 29

Summary:
Recap of 2011 to mid-2012. Lucky left Elizabeth, left town, and got a "premonition" about something wrong with Aiden. Elizabeth was tossed overboard by Lisa Niles and suffered hypothermia. She recovered, but Aiden had a mysterious illness and was brought in by Luke Spencer. Aiden survived. Lucky returned to see his son and left Elizabeth alone again. Lisa messed with Robin's meds, and her new protocol wasn't working. Robin asked Jason to help her "disappear," and Jason refused. Robin also asked Elizabeth to step in and "take her place" if Robin died. Elizabeth refused and told Patrick about Robin. Jason started having seizures and concerning headaches. Robin's third protocol was working, and she returned to her family.
Mid 2012 to end 2012.
Jason and Sam have problems due to the paternity issue and Sam's friendship with John McBain. Franco tricked Jason and Sam making them believe he raped Sam on her honeymoon with Jason. Jason and Sam separated briefly. Matt Hunter confessed to killing Lisa. He was convicted of manslaughter. Elizabeth developed an unsure friendship with Ewen Keenan. Due to Robin's death, Patrick fell into depression and had a brief addiction to narcotics. He recovered and assisted in the investigation of Elizabeth's kidnapping.
February 16-March 19/2012
Summary:
Jason's test results indicated he needs surgery with a medication Robin is testing in her lab. An explosion destroys the lab, and Robin dies. She got the medication to Patrick before the gas leak took out the lab. Sam begged Patrick to let Jason get the drug and surgery, but Patrick didn't want to save the life of a man who kills for a living, and Robin died because of Jason. Anna convinced Patrick that Robin would want him to save Jason. Sam thanked Patrick. Patrick said, "I didn't do this for you or Jason. I did this because Robin would have wanted this."
Patrick recommended low stress for Jason's recovery. Jason kept asking for Robin because he wanted to thank her for his life. Sam told everyone they could not tell Jason about Robin because it would upset him. Sam refused Carly access to Jason because Carly thought Jason deserved to know.
3/19-3/20/2012
A service is held to honor the life of Robin Scoripo-Drake. Carly sneaks into Jason's hospital room and tells him what happened to Robin. Jason tries to make it to Robin's service, but it is over by the time he arrives. Sam tracks Jason to the church, and he is angry at her actions. "Robin taught me it is important to say goodbye to the people who matter to you, and you robbed me of that."
"Jason, please return to the hospital with me. You can be angry later; I wanted to save your life."
"You shouldn't have. Robin was more important."
"Jason, please."
"Get out of here. Leave me alone. Don't follow me!"
Jason goes to the bridge, furious with Sam. He says, "I wish I didn't have to say goodbye to you, Robin. I'm sorry for the times I wasn't there for you."
Elizabeth finds him on the bridge, staring into the water. "Jason, what are you doing outside of the hospital?"
"I tried to make it to Robin's service but was too late."
"So you came up here to say goodbye?"
"You understand the meaning of that?"
"Yes, I do. Robin told me."
They talk about Robin and how Emma won't know Robin like they do. "I just wish I could have been there."
"Maybe it would help if I told you."
"You would do that for me?"
"Of course." Elizabeth summarizes the service for Jason and what people said about Robin.
"How is Emma?"
Elizabeth wipes away a tear. "She's confused. Children don't understand death."
Jason softly says, "Jake died a year ago, tomorrow."
A tear falls from Elizabeth's eye. "Jake loved this place."
Elizabeth tells Jason about Jake wanting to climb the railings and look over the water. She reaches into her coat pocket and pulls out a handful of leaves. "Jake brought these home the last time we were here. He'd love to toss them over and watch them hit the water. He'd ask will they reach the sea, Mommy?"
"What did you tell him?"
Her voice falters, "Of course, they aren't going to stop until they reach where they need to be."
Elizabeth holds her hand over the water, crunching the leaves in her fist. Jason holds her hand to help her let go of the leaves. Tears stream down her face. "I miss him so much."
Jason says, "I hope you can hear us, Jake; I hope you can feel how much we love you." Jason opens his hand, and Elizabeth releases the leaves as they float to the water."
Jason holds Elizabeth, and she rests her head on his shoulder. He kisses her forehead, and they part.
Jason returns to the PH, where Sam has been pacing. "Where the fuck have you been? I was worried sick about you. I called Sonny and Carly and wondered if Monica knew where you'd go."
"I went to the bridge to say goodbye to Robin. Elizabeth found me."
"Is she stalking you?"
"No, she was there because of Jake and told me what happened at Robin's service, which you deprived me of. Elizabeth and Robin were friends. Elizabeth tried defending you, explaining your actions. I'm sorry I scared you. You, of all people, know I don't like people lying to me or trying to control my life."
"What does this have to do with Jake?"
"A year ago, tomorrow Jake died. We shared memories of Jake and said goodbye to him.
Sam softens, "I'm sorry. I had forgotten the day. I don't get how important it was for you to risk your health to go to a bridge to say goodbye to Robin. "
"I told you what Robin said about the importance of saying goodbye before it's too late, and you know what that bridge means to me. It meant something to Elizabeth and Jake.
"It's not the same bridge," Sam shouts.
"The place still has meaning. I'm tired. I'm going to sleep."

Summary
Jason tells Elizabeth about Sam's pregnancy, the paternity test, and John McBain. Sam has been confiding in McBain and lying to Jason. He tells her about Franco raping Sam and making him watch. Elizabeth is sympathetic and encourages Jason to understand Sam's point of view.

Elizabeth leaves the hospital carrying flowers, and Jason says, "Those are nice."
"They are for Jake. I'm going to the cemetery."
"His birthday."
"Five years old, can you imagine?"
"What do you think he'd be doing?"
"I know he'd be riding his birthday present. I'd get him this two-wheeled scooter he'd ride too fast for a boy his age."
"Sounds like a good present."
"You are welcome to come with me."
"I'd like that." Jason leaves with Elizabeth to visit Jake's grave.
Jason and Elizabeth arrive at the cemetery. She kneels beside Jake's gravestone. Elizabeth places the flowers by the stone Jason helped pay for. "Beloved Son and Brother, Jake Webber May 4, 2007-March 18, 2011. Elizabeth says, "Happy Birthday, Jake; we love you."
Jason says, "Happy Birthday, son."
6/13/2012
Jason and Elizabeth drink at Jakes, now called "The Floating Rib." Luke Spencer bought Jake's and changed the name. Jason says, "I'm still getting used to that."
Elizabeth replies, " Yeah, Luke didn't think the bar was the best way to honor our son. I try not to think about it, but it is easier not to see the sign on my drive to work."
They play pool and discuss Sam's baby dying and her trusting McBain and blaming Jason. Jason feels guilty for sending men to attack McBain, and he feels responsible for Sam's baby not getting medical help because of his actions. Elizabeth says, "For what it's worth, I told Sam you were really sorry about everything."
"How did that go over?"
"To be expected. She's not in the right frame of mind for anyone to defend you. Sam and I aren't close. She even told me..." Elizabeth doesn't finish her sentence.
"What, what did she say?"
"She told me the two of you were over, and now you are all mine. It was something she said in the heat of the moment."
"She threw our friendship in my face when I confronted her about McBain."
"Jason, I'm sorry."
Jason questions her about Dr. Keenan. Elizabeth says they have a date tomorrow.
"As long as he knows if he doesn't treat you right, he'll answer to me. I hope Dr. Keenan is right for you. You deserve to be happy." Jason hugs her. Her hair has the familiar scent he loves.

Jason sees Elizabeth after a follow-up visit with Patrick. He gave him a clean bill of health. He asks Elizabeth about her date with Ewen.
Elizabeth says, "It was nice and low-key; however, my brother is being ridiculous."
"Steve?"
"Yeah, he thinks I'm holding back with Ewen."
"Why?"
"He's my big brother. He watched me fall apart when things didn't work out with Lucky. He saw the pain I went through and didn't want me to go through that again."
"I can't say I blame him. But you are stronger now."
"Yeah. It took a long time, but I finally accepted no matter how much I loved Lucky, we just couldn't be together. It's okay. I've learned from it and am ready to move on."
"Maybe that's what I have to do. Maybe it's over for me and Sam. I can't give her the one thing she wants: to get her baby back. She wanted to hold him, even though he was gone. I placed him in her arms, and she insisted it wasn't her baby. She believes someone switched babies, and hers is alive."
7/4-7/11/2012
Jason watches Sam kissing McBain on the docks on the fourth of July. Jason leaves unseen and drives his motorcycle to the bridge. He is pissed and hurt. Elizabeth arrives, looking to retrieve a toy that Cam left on the bridge. She can tell Jason is upset and wants to help.
"I saw Sam. She was kissing John McBain. They didn't even know I was there."
"I'm sorry. Elizabeth rests her head on Jason's shoulder and holds his arm. She remembers finding him in the snow and bringing him to her studio. "I barely knew you, but you were in so much pain, and I wanted to help."
Jason leans in and kisses her. Elizabeth responds. He pulls away and apologizes. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that."
"It's okay."
Sam finds out that Jason kissed Elizabeth.
"You kissed Elizabeth? Is it true?"
Jason replies, "Yeah, we kissed."
Sam says, "Elizabeth said all the right things about how you still love me, but I guess she didn't waste any time coming on to you."
"Elizabeth did not come on to me. I kissed her."
"You kissed Elizabeth? Just like that?"
"You are in no position to judge after what happened with you and McBain."
"Are you kidding me? You are going to throw that in my face that I confided in him?"
"I saw you kissing him on the pier! You didn't even know I was there."
"We were drunk; it didn't mean anything, but your kiss with Elizabeth did. You aren't wearing your wedding ring."
8/15-8/31/2015
Jason tells Elizabeth he and Sam are getting a divorce. Ewen assists Jerry Jacks in poisoning the Port Charles water supply. Jerry holds the city hostage. Ewen kidnaps Elizabeth. Elizabeth was able to contact Jason, and with help from Spinelli, they found where Ewen was holding Elizabeth.
9/4-9/12 2012
Jason rescues her. Ewen shoots Jason, and Jason returns fire. They make it to GH. Before Ewen dies, he tries confessing to Patrick that Robin is still alive.
Elizabeth treats Jason's wounds, and they banter about how many times she's saved him, and she counters with the number of times he's saved her. He says. "You know how I feel about you. I wasn't going to let that bastard hurt you."
Elizabeth turns to get an antibiotic, and Jason grabs her arm, "I'm the one who should be worried about you. He pulls her to him and kisses her."
Smiling, "That was unexpected."
"Elizabeth, you have been understanding and supportive this year. I leaned on you when I should have gone to Sam, but it's always been easy to talk to you. I miss us, and I'm sorry for not being around more for you the past few years."
Elizabeth checks his bandage and brushes her hand on his face. "Jason, I understand. We both went on different paths, but I'm glad this year we connected more, even if most of it was about Sam."
"Watching you with Keenan bothered me. There was something off about him, and I didn't trust him. Maybe it was because I was jealous."
Elizabeth tears up, and Jason holds her. "I'm sorry. I can't believe I trusted him."
Jason brushes the hair off Elizabeth's face, "You had no idea what Keenan was up to."
"But you did. You warned me about him. You were right about so many of my relationships. I should have trusted you. You know what's ironic? Everyone told me how wonderful Ewen was and that you were a killer. It turns out they were wrong. You have always been there when I needed you."
"I've only wanted you to be happy."
Elizabeth softly says, "I was with you."
"I was happy with you too."
"Jason, I'm sorry. You need to figure out what you and Sam are to each other before worrying about me."
Elizabeth prepares his shot and asks if he is ready. He winces. "I'm sorry for dragging you into this. I'm sorry you got shot."
"You didn't drag me into anything. I'm just glad I got there in time." Jason leans forward to catch another kiss, but John McBain enters the treatment room, holding onto Sam.
McBain says, "We need some help!"
Elizabeth turns to assess Sam's injury. She fell and hit her head. "You might be able to avoid stitches, but I'm going to clean it up.
Sam asks about his leg, and Jason says he's fine, but Elizabeth recaps what Ewen did.
McBain gets a call and takes off. Patrick asks Elizabeth to help with some patients. and they leave. Before Elizabeth heads back to Jason, Patrick asks Elizabeth about Ewen. He says he didn't make it but said Robin's name before he died. "Ewen said he's sorry about Robin and that Jerry made him do it. His last words were 'Robin is…' and then he died. Did Ewen ever mention Robin to you?"
"Not really. He only mentioned how loved she was and that you deserved to have your wife back with you."
Elizabeth, it's a stretch, but do you think Robin may be alive if Jerry was involved?"
"The body was unrecognizable, and DNA was not possible. The only identification was her rings. It's possible. The same thing happened with Lucky when we thought he died in a fire. I would love nothing more for that to be true. Tell Robert and Anna what you told me. They will go to the ends of the Earth if there is a chance their daughter is alive. I can get Jason and Spinelli involved. Jason has contacts others might not."
"Thank you, Elizabeth. We can re-engineer a serum if Tracy's, Alexis's, and Joss's blood work for a cure."
Patrick follows Elizabeth to the treatment room for a neurological check on Sam. The ER is still backed up, and Elizabeth says Ewen died. Jason says, "At least you are safe."
"Patrick says Ewen said something about Robin before he died. We think there may be a possibility Jerry faked her death. He's fixated on her many times."
Patrick says, "Once this pathogen is over, I will ask Anna and Robert's help. Elizabeth said you may have connections to help. If Robin is alive, I need to know."
"I'll help in any way you need. Is it possible to see the file on Sam's baby?
Parick says it's in her chart he's holding. He looks at Sam for authorization to release the information. Sam nods, and Patrick discusses what happened and that her baby died because his lungs weren't fully developed. Patrick says that even if you got to GH in time, he would unlikely have survived even with a ventilator. He needs to get Sam to radiology. Elizabeth asks to look at the file. Patrick and Sam leave.
Jason and Elizabeth review the file, and Jason catches an irregularity in the blood type of Sam's baby. Sam's blood type and Franco's type could not have produced a baby with the one who died. Jason asks Elizabeth for confirmation, and she agrees it's impossible, but maybe there was an error in the chart. Jason says, "But what if it wasn't a mistake? Sam swore the baby I gave her was not hers. What if the baby who died wasn't Sam's?"
Elizabeth called Monica, and Monica reviewed the chart. She agrees with Jason. An antidote is found, and everyone celebrates. Jason and Elizabeth join several others on the roof in the rain. Everyone is kissing and hugging. Jason kisses Elizabeth, and she leans into his chest for a hug.
9/14-10/2/2012
Jason hands Spinelli a copy of Sam's baby records and asks him to find out if the baby that died was Sam's or someone else. Jason is discharged from the hospital.
Elizabeth drives him home. They enter his PH and Jason thanks Elizabeth again for her help with the information on Sam's baby. She isn't sure she was that helpful, but Jason says having someone to talk to was nice.
Elizabeth says, "Jason, there's been something I've wanted to tell you since the hospital, but we were interrupted."
"Yeah, by Sam and McBain."
"We've been growing closer since our kiss at the bridge. I've put off my feelings for a long time because of you and Sam. I pushed myself into thinking Ewen was a great guy. After all of that, I still want you. Since you rescued me that night at Jake's, we've had this connection going back and forth for years. We'd have obstacles. It was either me pushing you away, or you were pushing me away. I don't want that anymore. When I look at you, I don't see Jake's father or Emily's brother; I see my friend, someone who has come through for me, even when we were at odds with each other."
"Elizabeth."
Are you still getting a divorce?"
"Yeah."
"Do you have feelings for me?"
"I will always have feelings for you, but it's complicated right now. I need to find the truth about Sam's baby."
"If you find the truth, would you be open to trying with me?"
Jason kisses Elizabeth, "Yes, I want to be with you. Let me get answers first."
Spinelli tells Jason that the baby that died was not Sam's. McBain knows of another baby from his hometown in Landview that may be Sam's, and he gives the DNA to Jason. Elizabeth offers to run it for him. The results come in, and Elizabeth hands it to Jason. He opens the envelope and reads it. "Elizabeth, I don't understand. These results say Sam's baby is alive, but Franco is not the father."
Elizabeth looks at the report and says, "Jason, your blood type matches the baby's. The first test must have been wrong. Franco never was the father. You are." Elizabeth wipes a tear away, knowing what this could mean for them. "Jason, you should tell Sam. I'm happy for you. I won't stand in your way."
"Elizabeth, this doesn't change how I feel for you."
"But you need to think about your family with Sam. You need to focus on finding that baby." Elizabeth kisses him on the cheek and walks away.

Summary:
Jason tells Sam the results of the new DNA test. He tells her he is the father, not Franco. McBain helps Jason find his son, and Jason and Sam reunite. They name their son Daniel (Danny) Edward Morgan.
10/22/2012
Jason is shot and kicked into the Port Charles harbor. He is presumed dead as they cannot find a body. Family and friends mourn him.
November 2012 to April 2014
Summary and What If:
In 2013, GH celebrated its 50th anniversary.
AJ is not part of this storyline. AJ and Elizabeth never happened. LuLu was kidnapped in 2013, and Nikolas returned. Nikolas had information on LuLu. Luke and Laura set out to rescue their daughter from the Cassidines. LuLu, after her deprogramming, reunited with Dante. Elizabeth resumed a brief relationship with Nikolas, but they parted again.
After a mourning period, Sam continued a relationship with John McBain. He helps parent Danny. In 2014, he returned to the FBI.
Patrick told Anna and Robert that Robin could be alive based on what Ewen had said on his deathbed. He had been working with Jerry Jacks. They found Robin and discovered that Jerry, Fiason, and Lisel Obrecht had kidnapped her. She reunited with Patrick in May 2013. They renewed their vows in December 2013. Patrick never had a relationship with Britt or was engaged to Sabrina. Victor threatens Robin and her family. He says she has to bring back members of his family who were kept frozen; if she does, he'll let her bring back Jason from the dead, and her family will get to live. In early 2014, Robin leaves Patrick to save Jason.
Elizabeth and Ric never happened. She never forgot about how he treated her in the past. He continues to insert himself into her life. They date, but nothing comes of it, and he manipulates her for months.
March 2014
Nikolas invites her to his and Britt's engagement party, but she doesn't want to go as she does not have a date. Ric follows her to the party at Wyndmere. Elizabeth discovers that the baby Britt had was stolen fertilized eggs from Dante and LuLu. She reveals to everyone that "Ben" is Dante and LuLu's son. Nikolas rips into her, and Elizabeth returns home. Ric follows her, thinking this is his chance to get back with Elizabeth.
Elizabeth says, "Everyone is allowed to have a bad night."
Ric replies, "Nobody is allowed to treat you like that. Not in my book."
"Treat me like that? What about how you've treated me? Compared to you, Nikolas is a saint. You married me when you only wanted to stick it to Sonny and Jason. You kidnapped Carly and kept her in a panic room in our house. You had an affair with Faith, and she kicked me down the stairs. I miscarried because of her. You Od'ed me on birth control pills and caused an embolism. You ripped me to shreds on the witness stand during Jason's trial because you were bent on revenge. Nikolas and I have been friends since high school. We've been through hell and back, lived through terrible losses and hideous mistakes. We've been right, we've been wrong, and we've always managed to forgive each other. I don't think tonight will be any different. You should leave."

Tuesday 11/21/2023
Cam arrives home for Thanksgiving. Jason sent a car to pick up Cam and the Scorpio-Drake family. Robin, Patrick, Emma, and Noah went to stay at Anna's. Valentine and Charlotte will not be a part of this story as I did not like the shooting s/l.
Cam drops his bags inside the door and rushes to hug his brothers. He hugs and kisses his mother. He hugs Jason. Cam updates everyone on school.
11/22/2023
Jason and Elizabeth pick up Robin and Patrick and drive to Pouzzila's. Sonny warmly embraces Robin and shakes Patrick's hand. "Thank you again for all you've done to get Jason back to us." Robin and Patrick update Sonny on their life in California. Sonny tells them about his recent marriage. After two drinks, Elizabeth nods to Patrick and Robin to join her at another table to give Jason and Sonny privacy.
Elizabeth, Robin, and Patrick discuss their children, mainly Cameron and Emma. Robin thinks it's serious. Elizabeth says, "I can't wait until tomorrow to see your kids. Monica invited us for dessert at the Quartermaines. Aiden baked the pies."
Patrick replies, "We would love to see Monica. Robin and I must return on Friday afternoon. Berkeley General needs us back. Emma may stay until Sunday before she returns to Stanford."
Robin asks, "Are you going to explain the extra security?"
Elizabeth replies, "Jason's a little concerned since some of his enemies aren't aware he's no longer Sonny's business partner."
"I think there is more to it than that, Elizabeth."
"Carly is not thrilled about our engagement. Jason is also concerned that someone working for Sonny may have a grudge against us. He's talking with Sonny about it right now. I'm sorry, but until Jason can explain, I can't say anything else."
Patrick says, "If it's going to be a long meeting, Robin and I could leave now."
"No, "I'll go with you. Jason will come home when he's ready." Elizabeth kisses Jason, "Francis will take Robin and Patrick to Anna's, and then I'll return home. I'll see you later. Goodnight, Sonny."
Jason continued his conversation with Sonny and returned home later that night.
Jason updates Elizabeth on his conversation with Sonny.
Thanksgiving Morning:
They drive to the Estates. Cam investigates his room. He is surprised at how accurate his wish list is.
Elizabeth links her arm through Jason, "Jason, everything looks wonderful and ahead of schedule."
"I want to start moving things next week. I hope we can be finished by the 12/10/2023. That will give us about ten days before we get married and leave for our mini honeymoon."
Elizabeth kisses Jason, "I never thought you'd sound more excited than me about this. I love you, but we don't need to have everything in place before getting married."
"Elizabeth, I want to be settled in our new home with the kids and celebrating 2024 together. 2024 is our new start."'
"Okay. We should return home and prepare the food before our guests arrive."
Elizabeth walks Robin and Patrick to the door. "Thank you for joining us for Thanksgiving and coming with us to the Quartermaine's for dessert. I know how hard it is to get time off, but Jason and I want you both at our wedding on December 20." Patrick and Robin hug Jason and Elizabeth.
Jason closes the door. "Cam is out with Emma, and Jake and Aiden are loading the dishes. Are you ready for bed?"
"Definitely.

I hoped to have this story finished before the end of the year, but it will end with a major cliffhanger. A sequel is already planned. The story may not be finished until January 2024.
