POE DAMERON

In the dimly lit interior of a large hut, Lor San Tekka, a weathered explorer with kind eyes, handed a small leather sack to Poe Dameron. l

Poe's hand closed around the sack, and an older hand covered it. Lor San Tekka spoke, his voice carrying the weight of experience, "This will begin to make things right. I've traveled too far, and seen too much, to ignore the despair in the galaxy. Without the Jedi, there can be no balance in the Force."

Poe, charismatic and with a natural spark, responded, "Well, because of you now we have a chance. The General's been after this for a long time."

Lor San Tekka's gaze held reverence as he remarked, " 'The General.' To me, she's royalty."

Poe, in agreement, noted, "Well, she certainly is that."

The moment of peacefully was interrupted as BB-8 rolled through the wooden flaps of the hut frantically, emitting concerned beeps. Poe turned to Lor San Tekka, a sense of urgency taking hold, "We've got company."

Exiting the large hut, Poe and Lor San Tekka faced the night. Poe, taking a moment, raised his quadnoculars to survey the horizon, revealing approaching enemy ships through his unerring gaze. The lights on the horizon signaled a threat, and Poe's unnerved eyes betrayed the gravity of the situation.

"You have to hide," Poe urged Lor San Tekka, who, equally concerned, insisted, "You have to leave. Go!"

Poe, conflicted, turned to face him one last time, nodded decisively, and hurried away, BB-8 faithfully following in his wake.

Swift as the wind, Poe and BB-8 raced through the village, armed villagers taking positions, ready to defend their homes. The transports landed with a roar of wind and dust, unleashing stormtroopers who opened fire, met with resistance from the determined villagers.

Poe reached his hidden X-wing, urging, "Come on, BB-8! Hurry!" He swiftly sent BB-8 into the droid socket, then moved to the cockpit. The controls came to life, and as the canopy closed, Poe shot a quick look back, spotting the approaching enemy forces in the distance.

Urgency filled the air as Poe worked the controls, BB-8 beeping nervously. The X-wing's landing lights illuminated, engines whining to life. However, before they could take off, blasterfire struck Poe's ship. He turned to face two stormtroopers charging toward him, firing relentlessly.

"I see 'em!" Poe declared, grabbing his controls and retaliating with the X-wing's antipersonnel blaster. The troopers were blown away in a large blast, but as Poe attempted to start the ship, the engines sputtered. Concern etched on his face, he opened the canopy, jumped down, and moved to the back of his ship. There, he discovered severe damage to the rear engine panel, signaling trouble.

In the village below, Lor San Tekka moved sadly among the chaos. Stormtroopers, wielding flame throwers, wreaked havoc, destroying structures. Surrendering villagers were rounded up, and panicked animals added to the chaos, painting a grim picture of the unfolding conflict.

Kneeling beneath his wounded X-wing, Poe extracted a small, old artifact from the leather sack. With care, he inserted it into BB-8, the droid's multi-reader enveloping the mysterious object.

"You take this. It's safer with you than it is with me. You get as far away from here as you can. Do you hear me?" Poe urged, his voice laden with urgency. BB-8 beeped in acknowledgment, hesitating for a moment.

"I'll come back for you! It'll be alright," Poe reassured as BB-8 watched him run off. The droid emitted nervous beep-whines before turning away. It rolled off, glancing back at Poe once more before disappearing into the night.

Poe, determined and armed with his blaster rifle, took cover and fired at incoming troopers.

FINN

FN-2187 stood there, frozen at the horrors he is witnessing. He stumbles across the sand, his knees buckling as every blaster shot, he turns to see one of the other troopers, as the trooper runs towards cover, he is shot dead. With what little life left in him, the trooper watches as FN-2187 kneels before him his heavy breathing visible. The dying trooper wipes his bloodied hand across FN-2187's helmet, leaving a grim crimson streak across his visor. FN-2187 can only watch as the dying trooper's life slips away.

As an imposing shuttle lands, the shuttle door opened, and the tall, dark figure strode through the chaos. Kylo Ren.

"Stay here," the senior trooper commanded, and FN-2187 acknowledged with a silent nod.

Kylo strode through the lined up troopers, he made his way towards San Tekka, the old man shudders at the sight. Kylo reaches San Takka, looming over him dominantly.

"Look how old you've become," Kylo Ren's voice cut through the air.

"Something far worse has happened to you," San Tekka replied.

Our blood-marked trooper found himself in line with others, the weight of the crimson streak on his helmet a haunting reminder of the recent brutality.

"You know what I've come for," Kylo Ren demanded, his masked presence intimidating.

"I know where you come from," San Tekka stood defiant. "You can deny the truth, but you cannot deny your past, your family."

Kylo Ren tilts his head in amusement, his masked face gleaming in the firelight. "You're so right." Kylo says Calmly as he ignites his lightsaber and strikes the old man down.

Poe entered the scene. He fired a blaster shot Kylo's way, Kylo swiftly turns and holds his hand out, freezing the bolt of plasma midair. It glitches and vibrates in the warm dark air.

Two stormtroopers retrieve Poe and bring him back to Kylo. Kylo unignites his saber, and kneels down in front of Poe. There is an almost exaggerated silence between the two.

"So who talks first? You talk first?" Poe's voice broke through the tension.

"The old man gave it to you," Kylo Ren replied, unperturbed by Poe's defiance.

"It's just very hard to understand you with all the... apparatus," Poe quipped, his resistance unwavering.

Kylo Ren ordered the troopers to search Poe, who remained defiant even in captivity.

"Nothing, sir," a trooper reported after the search.

"Put him on board," Kylo Ren commanded, and Poe was roughly pulled onto a transport ship, the ramp lifting.

The troopers roughly pulled Poe away. Kylo Ren, leaving, stopped, feeling something. He turned and looked at FN-2187 for a long moment. Our trooper barely met his gaze, knowing he was doomed.

Kylo Ren then headed off, passing the frozen blast, which, after a beat, went free and slammed into a nearby structure, jolting FN-2187.
