"A Christmas Scott"
It was a quiet morning, today was December 24, Christmas Eve, also known as the day before Christmas, for some, a day to celebrate the anniversary before the big Christmas day, for others an opportunity to prepare everything before tomorrow , and for some buyers the last day for purchases
In the house next to a farm covered in snow, a young man woke up, he was red-haired and very bitter, his name was Scott, and he, unlike the rest of his family, hated Christmas. He hated everything related to it, to him it only seemed like a capitalist excuse to sell merchandise for the happiness of gullible people who buy anything that seems attractive to them.
He also disliked all the happy and cheerful atmosphere in all the crowded places, those giant decorations in the houses with stupid Christmas characters, the colorful and flickering lights that blind his eyes every time he saw them, but what he disliked the most were those damned, DAMNED carols that I heard everywhere, ANYWHERE, on the radio, on TV, in the parks, anywhere where those people who repudiated were
But even Scott himself couldn't understand why he was friends with them, since he was invited by Dakota to spend Christmas with the entire gang at a hotel in the eastern woods. He would surely reject that offer, but he didn't have to pay because everything was paid directly from her, and part of her father. And also, Scott preferred to spend Christmas alone in a silent room with his raw potatoes, instead of listening and seeing his family making fools of themselves on their farm, it was an opportunity to escape for him, and he should take advantage of it, so dressing and packing his suitcase he left the house, saying goodbye to his family and telling them Merry Christmas and those nonsense things that he preferred to ignore and he walked a long way through the snowy field until he waited at a bus station.
While he was waiting, he saw some children next to him making a snowman, all they needed was to put a carrot as a nose, but due to his height they couldn't, and when Scott saw the children turning to look at him, he knew it was his downfall.
"Sir, could you give Frosty him nose?" asked one of the children holding the carrot.
"Look, Kid, I don't have time right now," Scott responded bitterly as always, but the kids didn't stop looking at him with puppy eyes. He sighed as he got up and took the carrot and walked towards the snowman, "Alright, I'll do it..."
He was about to put his nose on it, when he saw the van that was going to pass by him, so thinking maliciously, he looked at the children and said, "Here is your snowman...", he stuck the carrot in his forehead so hard that it made him fall off his body, "Nose included..." he laughed when he finished
He didn't look back at the children's depressed faces when he got into the van and drove away. He had a lot of fun bothering those little ones, but he forgot that now he had to settle in with his friends, most of whom told him, "Merry Christmas!"
"Yes, Merry Christmas..." Scott said with a now annoyed tone, he sat at the back of the van, unfortunately for him, there were Cameron, Mike and Zoey, the trio of friends who loved to sing Christmas carols from time to time. , he spent most of the trip covering his ears trying not to hear their annoying and happy voices, he would choose to change seats but it wasn't any better, almost everyone was doing something stupid that bothered him, and that included Christmas things
Anne Maria was spraying her new hair spray, B was planning some state-of-the-art Christmas decorations, Lightning and Jo were arguing over who was better at winter sports, Dawn was calmly meditating, and Brick was chatting with Sam about some outfits. Christmas themes, while he played a Christmas game on his laptop. Christmas, Christmas, why did everything have to be about Christmas? Every mention or thing related to her made him more frustrated.
He felt the same as Dakota, who, since she was the one who planned and paid for everything, drove the van, with Staci in the co-pilot seat, she couldn't stop talking about how each of her "ancestors" invented something that was celebrated in Christmas, and her level of frustration was equal to that of Dakota, who had had enough of the chatterbox, and ordered her out of the co-pilot's seat.
"Ok, who besides Staci wants to sit here?" Dakota asked everyone who sat behind her. Scott thought that with her, he wouldn't have to endure so much of the others' annoyance, but when he was about to offer himself, Lightning quickly got out of the van and then opened the door ahead.
"Make room for Lightning!" Lightning said, leaning back in the co-pilot's seat.
"Hey, but I was supposed to go there!" Scott complained.
"Sorry, dude, but this seat is sha-mine!" Lightning mocked
"Don't worry, everyone can have their turn if Lightning wants to leave, or if I force him to," Dakota said.
"Don't worry, Scott, you can sing Christmas carols with us for now," Zoey said to Scott, who covered his ears again as she and her friends sang again.
"Hey, Lightning, could you read the map to get to the hotel faster?" Dakota told the athlete
"Of course, Blondie, let's see, where is?" Lightning began to search the ground everywhere, then Scott noticed that the map was below him, and when he looked at Lightning, something malicious occurred to him.
Scott liked watching people have a hard time to de-stress, and since he was bored with Zoey and her friends' annoying Christmas carols, he wanted to have some fun, so he grabbed the map, turned it around, and walked over to the seat of the car. co-pilot
"Here's the map," Scott said, extending the map to Lightning.
"Thanks, dude," he said, taking the map and looking at it without first noticing that it was upside down, "Very well, the map says that the best route is to the sha-right!"
So Dakota began to drive guided by Lightning, not knowing that they were taking the wrong path, when they noticed that they had returned to the same place twice.
"Huh, that's weird, I could have sworn we'd already passed by this place" said Cameron looking out the window.
"Let me see the map," Dakota said, taking the map from Lughtning, realizing her mistake, "You're reading the map backwards!"
"Huh, Lightning could have sworn he was fine this whole time," he defended himself, but it wasn't enough to prevent Dakota from kicking him out of the co-pilot's seat.
Scott was about to ask for the seat, when B grabbed the map, turned it around and started marking a path that led quickly to the hotel.
"Thanks, B, you can sit here if you want!" Dakota said as she put the map in front where she could see it.
B very happily sat next to her, much to the annoyance of Scott who was still listening to Zoey's damn singing.
"Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, how fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh, hey!" She sings all happy
Seriously, Scott hated Zoey, she was the one he hated the most of this entire gang, she was cloyingly cheerful, he wanted to be a girl so he could give her a little hit without people seeing it badly, it's a shame it was just a fantasy that couldn't be fulfilled.
At that moment he noticed B preparing the last details of his new and small device, which seemed about to be finished, at that moment he knew that they were approaching a speed bump, and a new and evil idea occurred to him.
"Look everyone, a luxurious fashion store is right there!" Scott noted out loud.
"Where?!" Dakota excitedly turned to look to her left, forgetting to slow down, and when they stepped on the yellow reducer, the entire van wobbled, causing B to accidentally drop his invention out the window and it broke into pieces as it fell.
"Oops, my bad, there wasn't a store," Scott admitted, without any remorse.
"Aww, sorry about your device, B," Dakota apologized after returning her gaze to the road.
But B was more than sad, she decided to go back to the back of the van, this would be the perfect opportunity for Scott, but for her bad luck, Dakota invited her boyfriend Sam to sit next to her, who having the battery comes down in his Game-Guy, decided to take a nap
Later, when they stopped abruptly for the red light of a traffic light, Sam woke up, but before going back to sleep, he turned around and stood next to the window to see a video game store, which just this season they were launching a new console, the Game-Box, which was on display in the main window, Sam wanted to have that console so much that he began to admire it from the window
Scott just rolled his eyes, but then he noticed a very pretty girl walking on the same sidewalk that was in the store that Sam was looking at, so he planned another macabre idea.
"Hey, Sam, why don't you stop drooling over that girl?" Scott said as loudly as possible, drawing the attention of Dakota, who turned to see Sam licking the window of the van, just as the girl passed by, although it was not the girl for which Sam was looking with great eagerness.
So like any self-respecting girlfriend, Dakota, red with anger, began to hit Sam from his back, while he received all the blows multiple times, everyone looked with surprise or pain, but Scott was more than enjoying the moment.
After many knocks, and a calm chat clarifying everything, Sam returned to his previous spot, and Scott quickly offered to sit in the co-pilot's seat, and luckily for him, Dakota accepted.
The very happy farmer leaned back in his new seat, very calm to get out of that whole area of endless carols, but again to his bad luck, not even five minutes had passed when Dakota stopped the ban in the parking lot of a shopping center, She got off while grabbing her purse.
"Okay, let's take a break, everyone can buy whatever they want and we'll see you in an hour" she said before walking to the mall, followed by the others. Scott was surprised, but in turn he didn't care, he could pass by an hour taking a break from all his noisy companions, until Dakota returned and addressed him opening the door, "And when I say everyone, it's everyone!"
So reluctantly, Scott followed the others into the mall, which at this time was all infested with Christmas things, which frustrated him even more, and he also had nothing to do, just look from time to time at the people buy and buy, as always valuing their dilemma that Christmas is just an excuse for capitalist mercantilism
At that, it occurred to him to stay in the bathroom until the hour was up, but when he was on his way, he came across a second-hand store, where they were selling a peculiar Swiss army knife, and that amazed him, ever since he was a child He wanted to have one of those, but he never could, but now he could have it, the bad thing, he didn't have any money, so he immediately went looking for Dakota, who was shopping with Anne Maria and Zoey in a clothing store
"Hey, Dakota, would you give me a little money?" Scott asked in the kindest way he could.
"Wow, did someone forget to bring their pig here?" Anne Maria said, translating that Scott had not brought any money
"But everything is paid for, right?"
"I don't think you read what I wrote on the invitation," Dakota said, "Everything for the hotel and the trip would be paid for, but everyone paid for their own purchases."
"Oh, come on, you're filthy rich, at least give me just a little, what I'm going to buy isn't that expensive" Scott asked a little desperately.
"Woah, calm down, Scott..." Zoey said trying to calm him down, "If you want I can give you some money..."
"I don't want anything from you, Goody Freak!" Scott exclaimed, walking away from her, he was walking all angry, he knew he couldn't buy the knife he wanted, but he realized something, it wasn't necessary to pay to have it, he could take it without anyone knowing, exactly, he was planning to steal it.
Entering the store, he began to look around, pretending that he only came to see, he reached the part where the Swiss Army knife was, he took it without anyone seeing him and put it in his pocket.
"Well, there's nothing interesting here," he said to hide it, as he walked straight to the exit, but to his bad luck, there were two security arches at the entrance and exit, and if he left with the knife without paying, they would easily catch him. , his plan would be almost ruined when he noticed a tourist with an exaggeratedly large backpack, and an idea occurred to him to go out
He waited and waited until he saw the moment where the tourist would come out, and running as fast as possible, he came out at the same time as him, ringing the security arches, the security guard looked at the tourists with his large bag and headed straight. at him, not realizing that Scott was walking away very happy with his new successfully stolen knife.
When the hour passed, Scott left the mall, hiding his knife so that no one would see it, and was heading to the passenger seat when he saw Brick in the driver's seat.
"What are you doing there?" Scott asked the cadet.
"Dakota needs her beauty sleep, so she asked me to drive the rest of the way to the hotel, so no one can sit here but her" Brick said
Scott just rolled his eyes as he settled back into his old seat, and going through the same thing that happened all day, they drove for a long time on the streets of the forest, and Scott was more entertained looking at the trees than looking at the people others doing and saying nonsense
"Look, the tree is positioned in the square!" Zoey called, pointing to her left, everyone looked in that direction to see the large Christmas tree placed in the center of the square near the hotel.
Scott didn't turn around because he didn't feel like seeing a silly giant tree full of lights and decorations, so he started playing with his stolen knife, taking advantage of the fact that no one was watching, he turned it outside to see how it worked, however, it slipped when he grab it, letting it fall and get it stuck in one of the back wheels, and its sharpness was so strong that it caused the neomatic to explode and the entire van began to sway.
"Woah, what's wrong with this van?!" Exclaimed Brick, who couldn't control the van, it redirected, entering the forest, staggering while almost everyone got dizzy, Dakota took off her mask as she opened her eyes abruptly.
"Brick, what's going on?!" She asked upset.
"I don't know!"
The van left the forest part and began to crash into some stalls that were in the square, scaring some people who luckily were not run over, but they did not prevent the van from soon crashing heavily into the large tree, and the snow that was there. Hanging on it, it fell all over the van, flooding the entire gang with tons of snow.
One of the first to get out of the snow was Scott, who noticed that his knife was stuck in the flat tire, he tried to remove it, but in doing so, he let the sharp metal part remain in the tire.
"Oh boy, this is bad..." he said nervously, he knew what they would do to him if they knew it was his fault, then he saw Zoey lying there, stunned by the blow, and without anyone seeing him, he quickly put the knife broken in Zoey's pockets, just before she regained consciousness
"W-what happened here?" Zoey asked looking around.
Soon the others came out of the snow, and almost all the people who were there came over to see if everyone was okay, obviously, not everyone was happy, because there were people angry because their premises were destroyed, until the police arrived, and Since they knew that Brick was the one driving, they decided to take him by the hands
"Wait, it wasn't me, the van was uncontrollable, I swear!" He said so they wouldn't take him away
"Brick is right, look, something stuck one of the wheels!" Cameron pointed out the flat tire with the cut knife, one of the police officers took the sharp metal out of the rubber and looked at it intently.
"This is part of a knife," said the policeman, "Someone must have stuck it in the wheel, please, could you all empty your pockets?"
The entire gang began to take their things by force, but they stopped when they saw Zoey take out the plastic part of the knife.
"Wait, where did that come from?" She asked, before the police officer took that and placed her with the metal, matching
"Okay, take the girl," the police officer said before his companions grabbed Zoey by the arms.
"Wait, what are you doing?!"
"Hey, don't hurt her!" Mike exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, sir," the police officer said to the boy, "But the evidence refutes the young lady, and since she was responsible for the destruction of public property, she must pay the consequences."
"But she couldn't do something like that, she's the nicest girl I've ever met."
"Hmm, well, if that's the case, we will investigate the physical evidence if we find fingerprints, and the person responsible will pay a high price."
Scott swallowed, he was more lost than ever, so he decided to talk.
"Actually I think she did," Scott said, leaving most of them speechless, "She made us look at the tree right before we crashed into it, I think she had something to do with the accident."
"Hey, that makes some sense," Lightning said.
"Wow, Red, you really ruined Christmas for all of us this time," Anne Maria said, looking at Zoey disapprovingly.
"I-I did ruin Christmas?" Zoey said to herself sadly, almost bringing some tears to her eyes.
The police officer in charge answered his receiver before speaking, "We have just been notified that a Swiss army knife has just been stolen from a store, and it matches the description, so to avoid any more problems, we will take the girl to the Police station". He and the other police officers took Zoey straight to their patrol car.
"No, let her go!" Mike exclaimed, he tried to go after Zoey, but Cameron and B stopped him, when he saw his girlfriend driving away in the police car, he turned on Scott in anger, tried to hit him, but was stopped by Brick.
"Calm down, soldier!" Brick said to calm him down.
"Yeah, it's not my fault your girlfriend is a criminal" Scott said with some mockery.
"How could you do that to Zoey, she didn't do anything to you" Mike spat at the farmer, very angry.
"Okay, everyone calm down," Dakota called to the entire remaining gang, "I'm going to call a driver so we can go to the hotel, pick up your things before we leave." She then walked towards the destroyed van, a little worried, "Daddy will be mad about this."
After being taken by a driver who was carrying another van, the entire gang except Zoey finally arrived at the hotel, although their happiness was not as great after the previous events.
Arriving at almost 7 at night, they only had time to pack their things in their rooms and eat some pizza before saying goodbye for the night, Scott walks down the stairs to go to his room to sleep
"I hope you're happy..." Mike said from below, Scott turned to look at him, he and Cameron were staring at him, "Sleep well knowing that you just sent such an innocent girl to jail, my girl."
"Pfft, what should I care about?" Scott said bluntly.
"When you wake up, you'll find a lot of coal in your stocking, Santa, you know you're a bad person, Scott," said Cameron, the farmer raised an eyebrow at what he said, and approached him.
"Well, I won't have any of that, well guess what..." he said in front of Cameron, "Santa, doesn't exist..."
"What?..." Cameron was so surprised that he couldn't say anything and just left, Scott smiling walked back up the stairs, when he heard Mike say again
"You're a monster, you know that?" He said with great anger towards him. Scott could only open the door to his room, before looking at Mike one last time, he smiled with pure evil before saying goodbye.
"I know...and I don't care"
It was eleven at night, Scott was in his pajamas, sleeping in the hotel's large bed, he knew it was a good idea to accept the invitation. But suddenly his quiet nap was interrupted by a deep whisper that was repeated over and over again.
"Scott"
"Scott"
"Scott"
"I know it's you, Mike," Scott said without opening his eyes, he thought they were playing a joke on him, so he continued sleeping, however the whisper did not stop repeating itself for a long time until Scott woke up angry, "Alright, shut up, damn freak!"
He looked around, and there was no one in the room, he scratched the back of his neck confused, "Who is saying my name?"
"It's me..." said a voice that soon revealed itself to be the ghost of a red-haired man who was chained with a bunch of heavy chains.
Scott screamed at the sight and backed up on his bed as far as he could, "W-who are you?!" He asked, trembling with fear.
"You don't recognize me, great-great-grandson?" The ghost asked incredulously.
"Wait a moment? Papa Alberto? Are you my great-great-grandfather?"
"That's it, my dear relative."
"Wow, you are a legend to me, you were the rudest and baddest farmer of all, you stole from other farms and you were the best at trafficking crops"
"Well yes...I mean, NO!" He grumbled in front of the mortal in his face, "I did wrong, and therefore I will have to carry these heavy chains for the rest of eternity, and the same thing will happen to YOU if you don't change!"
"W-what? What do you mean by t-that?" Scott asked, somewhat terrified.
"Tonight you will be visited by THREE ghosts of Christmas from the past, present and future, if I were you, I would listen to what they tell you, because from my own experience, dear Scott, it is your only salvation..." said the ghost to the farmer just before fading
Scott wiped his eyes before processing everything, this time three ghosts were coming to visit him, but then he realized that his situation was very familiar with that exploited Christmas story that he had heard thousands of times, he thought that his head was giving him strange sights and that everything was a dream, so he began to get calm and went back to sleeping in bed
Then, when the clock passed twelve at night, Scott began to hear other whispers saying his name, but these were feminine, with a voice very similar to one of his friends.
"Dawn, I know it's you, stop scaring me" Scott said, somewhat scolded.
"Scaring you? You should better open your eyes and see me from the front" said the voice, when Scott opened his eyes, he jumped out of shock at what seemed to be Dawn, floating and glowing in transparent blue, wearing a dress with a ring floating on her head
"D-Dawn?! W-what happened to you?!" Scott asked, shaking again from fright.
The ghost chuckled and said, "I'm not Dawn, I'm the Ghost of Christmas Past, but in your case, your subconscious replaces me with one of your acquaintances."
"So this is a dream?" Scott asked, finding out if he was in reality itself.
"More or less, but what I'm going to show you is real, you lived it yourself, dear Scott, I'm going to take you back to the past right where you grew up, on your humble farm."
"But my farm is thousands of kilometers away"
"You should look out the window," the ghost opened the bedroom window, and when Scott looked out he saw the field of his farm.
"Is that my family's farm? There doesn't seem to be any snow there."
"Because we are in the past, right at the moment where you were not like you are now, you were just a little boy who obediently did his chores" said the ghost as they both watched the events of the past happen.
"Look everyone, I finally managed to remove the grass from the garden!" Little Scott said, happy for his achievement, but his parents were busy celebrating his older brother's success at the fair.
"But your parents were so busy with the actions of your other brothers that they forgot about you" said the ghost as they saw how Scott was less seen by his brothers.
"What do you mean with that?" Scott asked incredulously.
"They didn't hug you enough when you were a kid." Scott shivered, missed by her.
Then, in one of his memories, Scott was seen with his parents walking through a second-hand store, and it was in that that the little redhead saw a Swiss army knife on display.
"Hey, pappy, I want this Swiss army knife!" Little Scott said, looking out the window at what he wanted, when he was dragged by his father.
"I'm sorry, Scotty, but we have to save up to see if we can buy something for your brothers..." the father said as he was led away from the store, however, unbeknownst to them, he broke free and entered the store stealthily.
"You really wanted that knife, so you decided to take it for yourself, just like you did recently," said the ghost, "However, they caught you, and your disappointed parents punished you right on Christmas Day, without being able to celebrate with them."
Scott saw how his past self looked out the window of his house at his parents and siblings very happy having dinner at the table.
"You were so traumatized and depressed that night that the little heart in you broke, turned dark, and from then on, you hated Christmas and began to be less empathetic with the people around you," the ghost told him as she closed the window
"Pfft, what about that?" Scott said without any remorse, "That was all the fault of my stupid parents and their preference towards my brothers."
"Maybe they were wrong to raise you, but still, that doesn't justify your later actions, especially what you did to Zoey."
"So what? She's just in jail, right?"
"Unfortunately I can't tell you that, but the next ghost might give you a better view."
"A vision of what?"
"I'll just tell you something, if you want the present to go better, make sure you learn from YOUR past..." and that was when she disappeared, just when the bedroom door opened by itself and you began to hear whispers from there.
"I guess I have to go out now..." he said a little nervously as he left the room.
Scott went down the stairs and when he reached a room he saw a flickering light in the television room, and several sounds could be heard. Upon entering he noticed a transparent green ghost wearing a green suit and a leave crown, who was sitting on a couch playing video games.
"Sam?" Scott said confused, the ghost raised his head and if it was, or at least it looked like his cheerful gamer friend.
"Hey Scott, I'm the Ghost of Christmas Present, sit here, play with me!" The ghost said happily, Scott, without anything else to do, sat next to him on the couch, there were snacks everywhere, while the ghost tried to overcome a level.
"So, are you going to show me my present or what?"
"Wait, I'm almost done...", he tried to beat the level but lost at the last minute, "Too bad, I lost again, whatever, hold on tight..." he clapped twice before the couch where they were sitting it will rise and begin to fly through the sky
"Where are you taking me?!" Scott said holding on as much as he could, they both landed in front of a wax, Scott looked around, "Why did you take me here?"
He noticed that the ghost was looking in the window of a store at the Game Box that they were promoting, but then he concentrated and took him to the right place, a police station.
"What is this place? Why are we at the police station?" Scott asked confused.
"Let's go see the person who is suffering because of YOU..." the ghost said seriously, taking him inside, right in the cells, where Zoey was sleeping on the flat, hard prison bed.
"Zoey, what does she have to do with me?" the farmer asked incredulously.
"Your fear of accepting the consequences of your actions led you to blame this poor girl, and not only is she having a bad time, but due to the terrible conditions at the police station, the poor girl is dying from the cold"
Zoey sneezed loudly due to the intense cold of the wind.
"Pfft, it's just a cold, it's nothing serious" Scott said without remorse.
"Nothing serious? Some say that the flapping of a butterfly's wings can cause a hurricane, and a cold can be more than just a cold" said the ghost, scolding Scott.
"What do you mean with that?"
"I can't tell you beyond that, the ghost of the future will show you, but believe me, unlike me, what he will show you won't be anything good..." the ghost said before fading away, making Scott fall to the ground.
Scott got up a little from the ground, and when he opened his sight, he found himself in front of a large transparent gray ghost, wearing a black tunic and holding a sickle, only in its face could you see its eyes that were staring at him.
"Y-you must be the Ghost of Christmas Future, right?" Scott asked, swallowing hard at the ghost's foreboding, but he didn't respond and just nodded in response, much like his silent friend B, "Tell me, what is my future?"
The ghost pointed to his forehead, he turned and noticed Mike carrying some roses and chocolates to a room inside a hospital.
"Why is Mike doing with those chocolates?" Scott asked incredulously, the ghost pushed him into the room, and that's when Scott could see what it was, and from his reaction, it wasn't good at all, "What did I do?..."
In the room, Zoey was lying on the hospital stretcher, her skin now very pale, and she couldn't stop sneezing. Mike approached meekly, looking at her with pity.
"Hey, Zoey," Mike greeted, trying to smile at her to comfort her, "Are you okay?"
"Unfortunately not, the doctor said my flu is so bad..." she said before sneezing, "That maybe I can't get through this..."
"That unfortunate Scott, he was responsible for you being here"
Scott felt his heart beat itself, he knew what Mike said was true.
"No, don't blame Scott, maybe I haven't been the best of friends with him, but I don't think he really wanted me to be like that."
"Zoey, I don't want something serious to happen to you, you are too much for me"
"Don't worry, even if I go to the afterlife, you will always remember me every Christmas, that's what I love about it, it's a special day to commemorate and cherish with our loved ones, even if they are no longer physically with us, and even if we don't all have the same relationships, we have to appreciate the family and friends we have within reach."
What Zoey said hit Scott very hard, until he made him cry. That's when he realized the true meaning of Christmas, which he had forgotten for a long time.
"Oh, Zoey, I'll never forget you," Mike said, hugging her.
"I know..." she said, responding to the hug.
Scott turned and looked at the ghost, "Please, you can't let that happen, there must be something or someone that can stop this from happening..." the ghost only pointed to him, and he knew it himself, "Me?, I am the answer?..." He watched as the ghost raised his sickle, "Hey, what are you going to do with..."
The ghost with the sickle opened a hole, where Scott fell, into a deep and dark void.
Scott woke up abruptly, looking around, he realized that he was in his room, because of the lighting, he already had an idea.
"Wait, where am I?" Scott said confused, he ran directly to the window, looking around the outskirts of the hotel he was in, he noticed a worker removing the snow from the wax and asked him, "Hey, sir, what day is today?!"
"You don't know? Today is Christmas," the worker responded incredulously.
"Christmas? That's it! I still have salvation!" Scott exclaimed happily, he got dressed and went out to the main looby where most of his friends were, "Today is Christmas!"
"Uh, what's wrong with Scott?" Anne Maria asked, somewhat confused like the rest of the others.
"Today is a day of peace and prosperity!" The farmer hugged anyone who passed by, "Wait! I have something important to do!" He ran straight to the exit as far as he could, while everyone looked at him from afar.
"Could it be that he had a lot of ronche?" Sam suggested.
At the police station, outside the cells, Zoey was outside being comforted by Mike, while she was shivering a little from the cold, Cameron was also there and was feeding her chicken soup.
"Don't worry, Zoey, you'll see that this chicken soup will make you feel better," said the smart boy as he gave his friend another spoonful of the hot soup.
"T-thank you guys, you are the best..." Zoey said smiling a little, when suddenly Scott kicked the door, having a serious look.
"Zoey..." Scott said with a deep tone, at that, Mike stood up and stood in front, blocking the way.
"I won't let you ruin Zoey's remaining Christmas morning!" Mike said, glaring at the red-haired farmer.
"Make away, I have to talk to her," Scott said, avoiding Mike's block, without the latter and Cameron stopping giving him an angry look, Scott was close to Zoey as much as he could, "Zoey, I have to tell you something. .."
"Don't worry, Scott, you don't have to feel bad, I'm fine..." Zoey said calmly.
"No, Zoey..." he put his hand on her shoulder before looking at her more sadly, "This is all my fault, I was the one who stole the knife, I was the one who blew out the tire, I was the one who blames you, I was the one who ruined Christmas for everyone!"
Both Zoey and the others were surprised, but Scott had said it with all the sincerity in the world.
Zoey, after thinking about it, said, "Scott..."
"No, I have no excuse for what I did, but I already told the police to release you, don't worry about me, just tell the others to celebrate their Christmas happily without having a person as horrible as me around..." Scott said before running away, no one stopped him, he made it to the forest
Scott had no intention of returning to the party, so alone, he walked down the street to return home, it took him all day, and when he arrived at the bus station it was already night, he saw the snowman of the children that he was already armed, but without the carrot, Scott remembered that he had been so mean to him yesterday, that he decided to take a carrot from his garden and give it to the snowman as a nose before continuing on his way
When he arrived at his farm, he noticed that the barn had the light on, he thought that his parents had forgotten to turn off the light, so he decided to do that last thing and go to sleep, but when he entered, he was pleasantly surprised.
"Merry Christmas, Scott!" Everyone who was there exclaimed, from their family and friends, who had decorated the barn for a Christmas party.
"Pa, Ma, Brothers? Friends? What are you doing here?" Scott asked, confused and at the same time surprised.
"Oh, Scotty, your friends told us what happened to you, and since that blonde hippie girl thought you were going to your house, we decided to prepare a party especially for you" said his mother, hugging him.
"It was all the idea of that red-haired girl named Zoey," said his dad, also greeting him.
"Zoey?" Scott asked surprised, approaching the redhead, who already seemed to be in good health, "You did that for me? Even after what I did to you?"
"Well, I've been through worse things," she said, "Besides, Dawn knew that you just needed some love, and I wanted to give you this, so you would know the joy of Christmas. In fact, your brothers were the ones who convinced us to have the party at the barn"
Scott looked at his brothers, who held up a sign that said "We Love You Brother!"
"Thank you!" Scott said hugging his parents and Zoey, "Thank you for giving me another chance to live!"
"You're welcome, Scott," Zoey said, as she approached the other guests, "Hey everyone, how about we sing some Christmas carols?"
"Oh no, no one will sing any Christmas carol..." Scott said initially bitterly, when he then took Zoey's hand and smiled a little, "If you don't invite me to sing too"
So everyone now happy and united, joined hands and began to sing together in the barn, since the happiness and love of each one was stronger and more powerful than any bonfire at Christmas.
"The End"
Merry Christmas!
