It's about a girl named July. Until she was only about seven years old, she had a faithful life. She lived happily with her mother and father in great house near the beach. It was a perfect life, they had each other with their hopes and dreams and desires as well.
Then one day, a nasty thing happened while July and her parents were on their way home from a picnic. A drunken driver came out of nowhere and killed July's mother and father. This is as you can well imagine was a horrible thing that can happen to two gentle parents.
Their own troubles were over in a flash of light, at least it was quick, they were dead and gone in fifteen seconds flat. For July however, her troubles were just the beginning. She was sent away to live with her step uncle who is her mother's step brother. He's known as Pete and he's a really horrible person.
He treated July like a slave, made her wear rags and make her do all of the chores in the house. She even had to sleep in the garage. As time went on, she became sadder and more lonely. After July lived with her uncle for two years, there came a day when she did something she should've done.
