Notes:
This is my first time doing a crossover with the ABC TV series Castle and a very famous TV series from India. So you may find this story very interesting because of the following:
1. This story takes place in New York City but with the Mumbai CID working alongside the New York City Police Department (NYPD)
2. This story takes place after "Need To Know" where Beckett was fired from the AG's Office in DC
3. This contains references to the "Need To Know" episode which includes mentions of the '2 Cool For School' Reunion Movie and the Russian Organized Crime that Svetlana had ties to along with Charlie being a spy with the CIA
Rising Devils: A Castle and CID Crossover
Fandom: Castle (ABC U.S TV Series) / CID (Indian TV series)
Characters: Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas), Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever), Dr. Lanie Parrish (Tamala Jones), Grant Sullivan (Joshua Bitton), Captain Victoria Gates (Penny Johnson Gerald), ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam), Inspector Fredricks (Dinesh Phadnis), Sub-Inspector Sherya (Janvi Chheda), Sr. Inspector Daya (Dayanand Shetty), Dr. R. P. Salunkhe (Narendra Gupta)
Pairing: Richard Castle/Kate Beckett
Storyline: After Beckett was fired from the AG's Office, she and Castle were called to assist the Mumbai CID in a case involving the death of everyone Beckett knew at the Attorney General Investigative Unit in Washington DC including her only friend Rachel McCord which revealed some shocking secrets about Anton Renkov and his Organization.
Previously on Castle:
"Kate, you're one of the best agents I ever worked with, but I'm here to tell you you're fired."
- Rachel McCord to Kate Beckett after what the CIA found out what she did at Castle's apartment
Two days later:
It was something that even Kate Beckett didn't realized after what happened that day, being fired from the Attorney General Investigative Unit in DC after helping get Charlie Reynolds' girlfirend Svetlana Renkov away from her Russian Mob Family and the CIA. She was now in a state of guilt and realized she does not know what to do now due to the NYPD Commissioner's hiring freeze.
Beckett was now devestated, as she told her father, Jim Beckett, yesterday on what happened and now she is in bed with Castle at his apartment. Jim does not know what to do about what happened to Kate but he told her not to give up but to understand the reality of what she did.
Right now, she doesn't know what to do following the hiring freeze by the NYPD Commissioner yesterday.
"Castle..." Beckett said to Castle as he is sleeping. "Are you asleep?"
"Yes." Castle replied, with his eyes closed.
"Then why'd you answer me?" Beckett questioned him as she is confused by what Castle did.
"I'm sleep-talking." Castle answered, in which he told her what he's doing. "Also known as somnioquy."
"Just ignore me." Castle replied.
Beckett sighed, with her face on the pillow. "I don't know what to do." She said, very sad and devestated.
"I have some ideas." Castle suggested, with his eyes now open.
"No, Castle. I'm talking about my life." Kate corrected him. "I don't know what to do about my life."
"I haven't been out of work since I was 15. I cannot believe the FBI fired me, and I can't get my job back at the NYPD because of the Commissioner's stupid hiring freeze." Beckett told him. "I mignt as well just apply to be a mall cop."
"Ooh. You would look great on a segway." Castle said, imagining what will happen to her.
"But, you know, Beckett, you don't have to decide right away." Castle said, as he stood up on the bed, next to her.
"Come on, Castle." Beckett replied to him. "What are you saying?"
"What am I gonna do, just sleep in every morning and screw around till the phone rings?" Beckett asked him.
"What kind of life is that?" Beckett asked Castle in which he replied. "Mine."
"Sorry." Beckett replied, looking at him.
"I just mean that you're with me now." Castle said. "You don't have to work."
"I don't need to work?" Beckett said, as she stood herself up on the bed. "Does that mean you're my sugar daddy?"
"Oh. Hold on. That didn't... come out... actually, I'm still sleep-talking." Castle said, as he realized what Beckett meant. "I can't really be held responsible for whatever I say."
It was at that very moment, Alexis' boyfriend Pi walked into their bedroom at looked at them. "Wow. Even when you're fighting, you two are super cute." He said, in which Castle sighed and replied. "Pi."
"Morning, Mr. C., Mrs. C.-to-be." Pi said. "Hey, uh, do you mind if I borrow a razor? Alexis gets all fired up when I shave with the one she uses for her legs."
"Under the sink." Castle and Pi both replied.
"Yep." Pi said, snapping his fingers. "Cool."
"Why is he still sleeping on your couch?" Beckett asked Castle.
"I don't know." He replied.
"Good morning, darlings." Castle's mother, Martha, said as she entered the room with two mugs. When she along with Alexis and Pi got back from the overnight yoga retreat Castle bought, she was shocked on the news that Beckett was fired from the FBI but gave her some advice and helped cheer her up.
"Doesn't anyone knock?" Castle asked his mother.
"Door was open." Martha replied as she handed the mugs to both of them. "Don't be an old maid. Nothing going on here that I haven't seen and done before."
"So how can I help you, mother?" Castle asked her.
"As you know, my studio is being painted, so I am having my stage combat class in the living room in- whoo-hoo-15 minutes, so, please, feel free to join." Martha said as Pi exited the bathroom with a razor.
"Triple blade razors! Nice, Mr. C.!" Pi said, as the doorbell rang.
"You know what? I think I'm gonna sleep at my old place tonight." Beckett suggested.
"I think I might join you." Castle replied.
"What is this, a house meeting?" Castle's daughter, Alexis, said as she entered the bedroom.
"No." Castle and Beckett both replied.
"Hey, dad." Alexis said to her dad. "There is some people on the door that wants to see you."
"Who are they?" Castle asked her.
"I don't know." Alexis replied. "But they asked if you are around and I said that you're in the bedroom." At that moment, Castle got out of the bed and went to the door while Beckett stayed in the bed.
Castle went to the door saw an indian man and woman standing at the doorway, they were dressed in office attire and carrying ID cards and police badges. It was something he noticed that was strange, their badges do not indicate that they are from the FBI or the NYPD but he assumed that they are Indian-Americans because of their looks.
"Hi, are you Richard Castle?" The indian man asked him. Castle was shocked, apparently he spoke english but in a way that he is from India which indiactes he and the woman are not from America as he had an 'Indian' accent.
"Umm..." Castle replied, as he is shocked also by why he asked for his name. "Yes. I'm Richard Castle, famous novelist known for the Derrick Storm and Nikki Heat books."
"Are you the fiancé of Katherine Houghton Beckett, also known as Kate Beckett?" The indian woman said, also in fluent indian-english accent.
"Why, yes." Castle replied. "May I know what this is all about?"
"Please, we would like to know if she is around." The indian man said and Castle immediately went back to the bedroom to get Beckett immediately.
"Castle, who was that?" Beckett asked Castle as he returned to the bedroom.
"I don't know." He replied. "But apparently, some indian man and lady were asking for you and it seems that they are not from America."
Beckett was surprised. Why would a man and woman from India want from her? She does not know why, but apparently Beckett got up from the bed and she and Castle went back to the front door where the man and woman were still standing.
"Hi, are you Kate Beckett, former agent with the Attorney General's Investigative Unit in Washington DC?" The indian man asked.
"Yes." Kate replied. "I'm Kate Beckett."
"Miss Beckett, my name is Inspector Fredricks and this here is my partner Sub-Inspector Sherya." He said as he and Sherya both displayed their ID cards and badges. "We are from the Mumbai CID, can we speak to you and Mr Castle in private?"
"What is this about?" Castle asks, as he became puzzled after seeing their ID cards and badges. "More importantly, what are you detectives from India doing here in New York City? Do you know that you don't have a warrant or jurisdiction here?"
"Also, what in the world is CID?" Castle also said, as he never heard of this department before. "I've never heard of it before."
"Please, we need to speak to both of you in private." Fredricks answered, as he realized that he and Sherya does not have time for what Castle said. "It is about what Kate did two days ago when she is still an agent in the AG's Office in DC."
Beckett became shocked, why would two detectives from India want to know about what she did two days ago? She looked at Castle and they both agreed in their minds to see what it's all about.
"Um.. all right." Castle said as he and Beckett let them enter the house and Castle immediately had Martha, Alexis and Pi go to Castle and Beckett's bedroom.
They both sat down in the living room and Fredricks and Sherya immediately explained what they want to know.
"Miss Beckett." Fredricks said. "We're sorry to inform you that your friend Agent Rachel McCord is dead along with everyone you knew at the AG's Office in DC."
Beckett immediately became shocked. She last saw McCord just two days ago when she showed up at the apartment to tell her that she was fired. Now, McCord is dead just after what she did.
"How?!" Beckett asked, in a state of shock.
"McCord was stabbed in her hotel room the day after you're fired." Sherya explained. "The rest were all killed in what appears to be accidents."
"But it wasn't no accidents, they were murdered." Fredricks summarised.
"But how do you know that it was murder?" Kate asked.
"Because, we have reasons to believe that they were killed because of what you did two days ago." Sherya explained. "We understand that you along with McCord were told to keep tabs on the NYPD Investigaton of Charlie Reynold's Murder by the CIA, is that correct?"
"Yes." Kate replied.
"And we understand that Charlie Reynolds, who played Dewey Hancock in 2 Cool For School. and the upcoming reunion movie 2 Cool For School: Those Who Can't, Teach. is a spy for the CIA? Is that correct?" Fredricks asked.
"Yes, I remember that too." Castle replied, as he remembered Martha mentioning doing a guest spot on that show.
"We understand that Charlie was recurited by the CIA to spy on Anton Renkov, an notorious gangster in all of Russia, and his organization?" Sherya asked.
"Well, yes." Castle answered. "But what does this had to do with McCord and everyone Beckett knew at the AG's Office?"
"We just want to know what happened that day and how did Beckett got fired from the AG's Office." Sherya explained. "Please tell us how it all happened to the both of you on that day."
