It was new years eve. Max and Zoe were sitting side by side on a bench. Out in the show, watching fire works, Zoe had on her normal winter outfit. Max had one a red thick jacket, red mittens, his visor replaced by red beanie, yellow scarf, yellow pants, red winter b oots with fur trim. It was there first new years with out Rex, and there first as a couple. They didn't know how they got here, maybe form trauma, maybe for missing him, the two were hardly apart, before long they were doing all the things they did with out Rex, and when an old lady told them what a lovely couple they were, they realized it, they had become boyfriend and girlfriend, as either could counter her claim.
You would think it would be awkward, but even Max said, "We just continue doing what we are doing, it's just a boyfriend and girlfriend not friends." Zoe held his hand looking up at fireworks red, a week ago they had their first kiss under the mistletoe. It was magical, and she held his face making him look her way.
He turned red as they moved closer, Zoe guiding him to her lips as they blushed kissing as Max held her hands, they broke it soon after, and Zoe leaned in to his chest and Max petted her head. Looking up, People looked at them, they argued faught made up and became cute, like Any healthy couple. Zoe looked up, "Geee So glad we settled on seeing the fire works." She cuddled him holding her close with right arm, holding her hand with left.
They had a little fight about what they wanted to do at the new years festival. Max originally wanted to go to the food stands, Zoe wanted to go to the Dance, So after fighting for a bit, they both cried, which made them hug each other calm down. they ruled out both things and repeated till they found something they wanted both wanted to do equally. Making this post fight cuddles. Makes sense that snuggle together in public and watch fire works would win.
Max kissed her head smelling her hair, "Oh you changed shampoos, is that.. Roses or Lillys." Zoe looked up smirking, she said, "sunflowers, but thanks for nothing I changed my hair."
An older woman turned to her husband, "SEE! SEE HOW EASY THAT IS!" In the background. The young couple laughed. Zoe held bit her lip. Max was also struggling to hold it in.
They waited till the older couple left, Max wheezed happily, "Oh yeah he can't as he doesn't have a young nose or eyes. I can spy when you change dye as your pink fades more." he looked down and he could see Zoe's red roots, popping out from her lightener. "Don't get why you hide your pretty coral red hair, I mean the color difference is why people at first glance assume you are adopted."
Zoe looked up, "Oh My parents makes me do that." Max blinked, "I have a cousin who looks like me, and we use to trade places all the time, sick of it my mom and aunt flipped a coin heads mom would dye my hair, tails, aunty dyes my cousins hair. It landed heads."
Max blinked and said, "Oh...really...so My girlfriend is forced by her parents to change her looks?"
The woman looked up hearing a hint of rage in his voice, "Oh that protective Voice hint." She was red. "How romantic, On new years in my boyfriend's arms, what a way to end a year. Gee think we are done with the strange? Like what if Spectre has a grandson or son, or half alien clone of you, waiting to show up. "
Max then said one thing, "son...then Spectre was trans, grandson, how? half alien clone of me, I will knock myself out with one punch if I try to take you away from me."
Zoe chuckled at the last part, "Like in that soap opera about fairy tale characters, you will knock your own block off." The final big flower fireworks happened, as the block hit midnight. Zoe smiled, "hears hoping we hit happily ever after, and don't end up locked in our homes by some kind of plague, as I Don't want to be away from you."
Max held her and said one thing, "yeah being locked away from you, horrible, say maybe we should write a book about our adventures." She smiled as they got up to go home.
The girlfriend said, "now that's an idea, we might get a two season anime out of it."
