I don't own Avatar: The Last Airbender.
It was the fourth evening of gifts.
Aang's days were scheduled. In the morning, training with Toph on earthbending, in the afternoon lessons with me. But every evening of these days, Aang brought me various flowers, always blue in color. And he didn't just give them to me, but at first stared intensely at me for a while, without taking his eyes off me. To be honest, I was a little uneasy. I would ask him why he was looking at me like that, but the airbender would just smile shyly and give me flowers, and then go about his business. Despite his strange looks, I was pleased...
- Katara! - Aang exclaimed, running up to me with another bouquet of flowers, and Momo, who was not far away, jumped at the scream.
"He's obviously more active this evening", - I thought, smiling at the boy.
- Hi, Aang, - I said. – You brought me flowers again?
- Yes, - he said immediately. – But not just flowers, they're special.
- Special ones? - I asked, peering at the flowers.
It was an ordinary blue night lilac. Or rather, it shimmered between blue and azure, but they were all like that. What would be so special about these flowers?
- I don't understand, - I admitted, looking up.
- Of course, you wouldn't understand, silly, - Aang said, chuckling. – To do this, you need to see your own eyes.
"My eyes? " - I was surprised and once again looked at the flowers.
- You mean that...?
- Yes, Katara, - Aang said happily – The color of these flowers matches the color of your eyes! It wasn't easy to find them, but here I am! - he grinned.
I'm sure there was a blush on my cheeks, although I don't think it was noticeable because of the skin tone. My heart warmed at the gesture.
I grabbed Aang's hand and pulled him down to kiss his cheek, my lips lingering on his skin. When I pulled back, I saw that his face was flushed and relaxed at the same time. I giggled at his face.
After a while, he calmed down and handed me the bouquet. I gladly accepted it, smelling the flowers, enjoying the aroma. Suddenly I had a question.
- Aang, why did you even decide to pick flowers the color of my eyes? I'm flattered, of course, but still? - I asked.
- I really like your eyes, - he said simply, but a blush suffused his face. – I thought you should see, how pretty it is, too...
For the second time that evening, I grabbed him and pulled him in for a kiss. I usually don't do this very often, but who says I can't do it more often? Aang didn't voice his disapproval, and I liked the softness of his skin under my lips. I unconsciously intertwined our fingers.
- That's very nice of you, Aang, - I said, smiling.
- I'm happy to cheer you up, Katara, - he said, and then after a while he added, pulling me aside, - You know, I can take you to the clearing with these flowers.
- I'd be happy to! - I agreed, following him.
With that, we headed towards the clearing where the airbender said there were night lilacs. We walked hand in hand. I enjoyed the contact.
I pulled the flowers up to my nose once more and inhaled the scent. Yes, definitely. I was glad Aang liked my eyes.
I turned my head to look at Aang's face. It was calm, but still seemed to glow with joy and fun. This wonderful boy literally radiated happiness around him.
My lips parted in a smile as I looked at him. I was sure that my face was also glowing with pleasure...
