Chapter 3: Gift Troubles
Back in Manehattan, Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Nyx, Sokka, and Clay continued their snowball fight as they continued to laugh themselves silly. Then Nyx used her magic to create a big snowball as she hurled it into the air, landing on top of her family and friends.
"Ha! Bet you guys didn't see that coming!" Nyx said victoriously with a smirk.
Suddenly, Chase jumped out of the snowy pile as he pounced on Nyx as his daughter shrieked in surprise before she laughed as her father began to tickle her.
"Not as much as you are still ticklish, sweetie!" Chase countered with a playful smirk as he continued to tickle Nyx, who still giggled uncontrollably.
"Alright…hehehehe…Alright, Daddy!" Nyx shouted while giggling. "Stop! I surrender!"
Chase chuckled in amusement as he ruffled his daughter's mane, making her smile.
"Okay, guys." Sokka said as he and the others approached the two alicorns. "I think we've already spent enough time playing. We should get back to Ponyville."
"Yeah, we've gotta get back to the Castle of Friendship." Nyx said in agreement with a smile when a noise got all of their attention.
"NO!" A stallion said pleadingly. "Get back!"
"Who was that?" Jade asked her family and friends curiously.
"I don't know. It sounds like trouble to me." Chase said as he and the others peeked around a store's corner, and saw the last thing they wanted to see - two Blue Dragons.
They were standing near a wagon with the stallion.
"Leave me alone!" The stallion cried as a Blue Dragon member, going by the name of Fang Face, leaned against the carriage, which was full of boxes. "What do you want?"
"Just your truck." Fang Face smirked, as another Blue Dragon named Ozzy came out from the back of it and crouched down.
"And all the Lil' Orphan Ninjas in it." Two Ton said, holding up one.
"You can't steal this truck!" The stallion insisted. "This whole lot of Lil' Orphan Ninjas is being donated to the Brown's Street Children's Home."
Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Nyx, Sokka, and Clay dashed across the street as they kept staring at the Blue Dragons.
"Have a heart, will ya?" the man begged. "It's Hearth's Warming Eve."
Fang Face threw the toy back into the carriage.
"And that's why we're giving ourselves this truck." Fang Face said as he smirked. "It's our Hearth's Warming present."
The man whimpered as Fang Face and a blue dragon member named Two Ton both approached him at crossbow point.
"Ho, ho, ho, bozo!" Two Ton said as he snarled.
He whacked the stallion with the butt of his crossbow, knocking him down.
"AH!" The stallion moaned, landing on his chest as the Blue Dragons laughed and turned to the wagon.
"Man, just imagine how much we'll get for these things on the internet." Fang Face said. "Draco's gonna love this."
"These Lil' Orphan Ninja dolls go for five times what you pay for them in the stores." Ozzy said, patting a box, before jumping out of the truck.
"And we didn't pay nothing." Two Ton said as he sniggered.
They all laughed, as Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Antonio, Nyx, Sokka, and Clay looked at them from the roof of the truck.
"They haven't paid yet, but they will." Chase said, shaking his head as he turned to his family and friends. "We'd better lay low, guys. Things might get a little rough."
"No argument here, Chase." Jade said in agreement with her brother as Sunray, Trini, Nyx, Sokka, and Clay nodded as well in agreement, minus Antonio.
"Not if I can help it!" Antonio said, not wanting the Blue Dragons to get away with it.
"Antonio, no!" Chase shouted, but his older cousin doesn't hear him as he lit his horn, aura hands replacing his front hooves, and jumps down from the carriage. He landed in the middle of the three Blue Dragons, catching them by surprise.
"Ah!" They gasped.
Antonio put his aura hands on the ground and spread his legs out before wrapping them around Fang Face's chest, and then he threw Fang Face into Ozzy.
"UH!" They moaned, hitting the ground on their backs.
"Aw, jeez!" Jade said as she slapped her face in annoyance as her family and friends shared the same annoying look.
Antonio jumped up as Two Ton fired at him, then he twirled around in the air, before diving down and kicking Two Ton in the face, knocking him down and away. Spike, Sunny and the man all looked up at Mikey, before Ozzy got up, clocked his Crossbow and aimed it at him.
"Ah!" Antonio gulped, turning to him.
Two Ton sat up as Antonio raised his aura hands slightly.
"Oh no you don't!" Chase shouted as Ozzy then fired at him, but missed as Chase, his family, and friends jumped up, back flipped through the air and landed behind Two Ton, who then picked up his crossbow and turned to Chase. Antonio turned right and ran off, as Ozzy ran over to Two Ton and aimed his crossbow at Antonio, who then turned around.
But then Chase high kicked him in the air as the Blue Dragon member grunted in pain, falling on his back. Jade and Sunray dodged a few arrows from Two Ton and kicked him in the face, sending him on his back.
Ozzy got up and fired his crossbow at Antonio, who jumped up and back flipped, landing near a wall, and then he ran off to his left.
"Whoa!" Antonio yelped, diving behind a dumpster.
Ozzy kept firing, before turning to Two Ton and Sunny.
"Get the carriage!" Fang Face said. "We're outta here!"
Ozzy fired at the dumpster as Fang Face and Two Ton ran to the front of the carriage, and then got inside it. Ozzy then coupled himself to the front of the carriage and then drove the carriage away slightly, racing past Fang Face, who then hopped inside.
Antonio came out from behind the dumpster as he and the others saw a wire sticking out from the back - as it was open. Antonio jumped up onto the dumpster, then up to a clothes line above them, grabbing it before swinging it back and forth, making it spin in circles.
"Ah!" He yelped, as he let go.
He dived down towards the wagon and Antonio banged his arm against it.
"Oh!" He moaned, before landing on the ground on his back as his family landed on their hind legs on the roof of the wagon.
"Seriously, Antonio!? You couldn't have waited for my signal?!" Chase asked in annoyance.
"Sorry!" Antonio replied back with a painful groan.
He looked at the wagon in horror, before he grabbed the wire, which then pulled him away, making him move like he was water skiing.
"AHH! Ahh!" he yelled.
"Oh no, come on, buddy!" Sokka shouted in annoyance.
The wagon turned left into the city, making Antonio kick over a mailbox as he kept hold of the wire. It also made the others on the carriage tumble onto their backs as they yelped in surprise while grabbing a hold of the sides of the wagon.
"Ah!" Antonio groaned before the carriage sped off. "Whoa! Oh! Uh!"
He turned onto his back as Ozzy drove the wagon past a pile of plowed snow, making some splatter all over another carriage, as Antonio got to his hind legs and kicked them against the wagon.
Fang Face looked behind him and saw Antonio holding onto the wire, like he was water skiing. He looks up to see the rest of the Elite Ninja, Nyx, Sokka, and Clay on the top of the carriage.
"What the?! It's the Elite Ninja" Fang Face exclaimed, before turning to the others. "That unicorn that attacked us is sketching on the back!"
"Not for long, he ain't." Ozzy said.
He turned the carriage to the right, making Two Ton fall onto Fang Face.
"Oh!" They moaned as Chase, Jade, Sunray, Trini, Nyx, Sokka, and Clay continued to hold onto the carriage with all their might as they strained a bit.
Antonio kept hold of the wire, but then fell and spun around on the ground while keeping hold of it. He then managed to get on his hind legs, just as the carriage rammed and smashed part of a wagon while turning left, making him jump on it briefly, before he jumped off again.
"Whoa!" he yelped, landing on the road.
Ozzy turned the truck left again, hitting another car slightly, making it turn, then causing Antonio to jump and run along it. He then ran along another two carriages, jumping off the latter afterwards.
"This isn't so hard." he said.
He laughed as he began jumping along the cars parked next to each other, doing some flips and somersaults as he did. His family, Sokka, and Clay just looked really annoyed.
"Ha, ha! Hi-o sliver!" he whooped.
He landed back on the road while keeping hold of the wire.
"I got it all under control." he said.
"You sure about that?!" Clay replied back.
He jumped up, when the carriage ran over and smashed a fire hydrant, spraying water upwards, making Antonio fly up slightly, but he kept hold of the wire. He then landed on the ground on his back and spun around on it.
Ozzy turned the carriage to the right, as Antonio skidded on his flank.
"Ho, ho, ho! Happy..." he said, before banging his shell against a car. "..Bumpy Heath's Warming. Lucky for me, right guys?"
"Not the time, Antonio!" Chase replied back sternly.
Ozzy kept driving the carriage down the street, before he saw Antonio.
"I don't believe it!" he exclaimed. "That unicorn's still back there!"
"Bring him up front!" Two Ton snarled, as he and Fang Face clocked their crossbows. "We'll take care of him."
"You got it." Ozzy said.
He skids to slow down, pulling the carriage to a stop.
"Whoa!" The Elite Ninja yelped as Antonio skidded under the truck and he then came out of the other side.
"Ha, we made it." Antonio said.
That's when Fang Face and Two Ton smashed open the carriage's front window, and aimed their crossbows at Antonio.
"Then again..." Antonio said, flipping onto his hind legs.
Two Ton and Fang Face fired their guns at him when Chase and Sunray grabbed them by the coats, making the Blue Dragons yelp in surprise. Then the two unicorns bonked the two criminals' heads together, making them grunt before they fell unconscious.
Ozzy was about to unhook himself when Jade and Trini punched him twice as he yelped a few times before he too fell unconscious.
"Well, that oughta do it." Chase said as he and Sunray dropped the other two Blue Dragons down before they turned to face Antonio with unamused looks.
"Hehe…" Antonio chuckled sheepishly. "A little too exciting back there."
"I don't know how you got that reckless behavior, Antonio." Chase said firmly before he smirked. "But I guess sometimes you know how to make an entrance for Blue Dragons."
His family, Sokka, and Clay nodded in agreement.
"Come on, guys. We gotta return this carriage back." Jade said as she gestured them to the carriage.
"Yeah, let's hope that stallion has already recovered." Nyx added with concern.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile, Applejack and Fluttershy went to Rainbow Falls to see what they can find for Rarity and Rainbow Dash.
"I come to the Rainbow Falls Hearth's Warming Craft Fair every year." Fluttershy said. "They have perfect presents for anypony."
"Hopefully. And it looks like a good spot to get our husbands something else too." Applejack said. "Wanna split up? Meet back here in an hour? There's gotta be something Clay would love here."
"Sure." Fluttershy said. "I need to find something else for Sokka too."
They part ways and Fluttershy approached a jewelry booth. She was about to look at some necklaces when suddenly a slender unicorn and a green sweater and hat appeared and strangely looks familiar.
"Oh, no!" He said. "There's only a few!"
He rushed off as a few ponies followed behind him and close by, another familiar looking unicorn is at a booth.
"Fillies and gentlecoats, we want you all to have the best holiday your bits can buys!" Said the unicorn. "But there are only a limited number left."
"Limited number of what?" Fluttershy asked.
"Why, you don't know about Holly the Hearth Warmer?" Said the first unicorn as the crowd turned and gasped.
"You seem like somepony looking for a gift for a very special friend." Said the second unicorn.
"I am!" Fluttershy said went up to him.
"A friend who wouldn't want to miss out on the must-have gift everypony is talking about?" He continued.
"She certainly wouldn't wanna miss out on that." Fluttershy added.
"A truly awesome friend who deserves something twenty percent cooler or a beautiful friend who deserves something glamorous than any other gift out there?"
"That sounds just like her!" Fluttershy said as she smiled.
"Well, look no further!" He said and then zips off and came back. "This is it!"
"Ooh! Ooh! How much does it cost?!" Fluttershy asked.
"How much do you have?" He asked as he smirked mischievously under his mustache.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile, in Yakyakistan, the yaks were getting ready for Snilldar Fest and getting the smashing pile ready for tomorrow as Prince Rutherford appeared.
"Yojan!" Rutherford snapped. "Is that good angle for optimal smashing?!"
Yojan whimpers and heads off as Rutherford snorts when Pinkie appears over his head, covering his eyes.
"Guess who!" Pinkie said happily.
""Yojan?" Rutherford guessed.
"No, silly!" Pinkie said.
"Ingville?" Rutherford guessed. "Tormand? No, no, wait! Grimhorn!"
"Nope-tiy, nope, nein, and nyet!" Pinkie said and then hops off. "It's me!"
"Aww, Prince Rutherford knew it Pink Pony all along!" Rutherford teased. "Yaks best at guessing." And placed his crown.
"Yaks best at everything!" Pinkie said. "That's why I'm here. Sorry to interrupt Snilldar Fest, but I need help. Can you tell me where to find... BEST GIFT EVER!"
She finished in a Yak voice which it echoed and some Crows flew off as Rutherford exclaimed in panic, quickly placing a hoof to Pinkie's mouth.
"Not here! Follow this way!" Prince Rutherford said as they both zipped off, and into a hut as Rutherford closed the curtains before he turns to Pinkie.
"Prince Rutherford about to tell honorary Yak friend something very top secret." Rutherford said.
"Honorary Yak listening." Pinkie said as she brought out a stool, and sat on it.
"Yaks best at all things except one." Rutherford said and glanced to be sure no ones around. "Yaks not best at giving gifts."
Hearing this immediately made Pinkie gasp in shock.
"What?!" Pinkie shouted with wide eyes as Rutherford quickly clamps Pinkie's mouth close.
"I know! It hard to believe!" Rutherford said, thinking the same.
"How am I gonna figure out how to give Twilight the best Hearth's Warming gift ever?!" Pinkie said losing some hope.
"Oh, no worry, honorary Yak." Rutherford assured with an idea. "Prince Rutherford keep secret map in perfectly organized files."
He then went somewhere in the hut, and tossed a few things as he appeared with a map.
"Best gift givers up northern pass, where sky shimmers and glows." Rutherford explained. "There, secret gift giver grove." The map shows lights shiny over the mountains further north from the village. "Only Yak princes and pink honorary Yak know."
Pinkie looks at the map, and then zips up her lips.
"My lips are sealed." Pinkie said as she rolls up the map and then rushed outside yelling. "TIME FOR MY TOP-SECRET QUEST TO THE GIFT GIVERS!"
She heads out to find them, leaving the village.
(Scene changes)
Back in Ponyville, ponies were lined up in the post office waiting to get their chance to deliver their presents to other ponies. Among them was Rarity, and then finally it was her turn. She went up to the counter, and rings the bell. No sooner or than a few seconds, Derpy appeared.
"Oh, hi, Rarity. How can I help you?" Derpy asked cheerfully.
"I excepted a package today, and I was wondering where that might be." Rarity explained.
"Oh, okay." Derpy said as she picks up a list. "Uh, let's check. Name?"
"Uh, Rarity?" Rarity said.
Derpy looks through the list.
"Oh! Here we go! Your package was delivered to Sweet Apple Acres."
"What?!" Rarity exclaimed. "It was supposed to be delivered to Rarity's Boutique!"
Derpy reads through the list.
"Um... okay... but... now, the package was for Applejack, and she is at Sweet Apple Acres." Derpy said confusingly as Rarity slowly growled, keeping her anger controlled.
"Yes, it's for Applejack, but I will be delivering it." Rarity said slightly annoyed.
"Uh... that's my job." Derpy said as she frowned confusingly, causing Rarity to smack herself.
"It's a gift for Applejack from me." Rarity said in an irritating tone.
Derpy gasped realizing that.
"What if shes opens it?!" Derpy said in panic. She then looks through the list in case she missed something. "It shouldn't go to Sweet Apple Acres!" Then she noticed something. "Oh! Wait!" She brought a magnifying glass to be sure. "It went to Sweet Acorn Orchard instead!" She then laughs from her mistake. "Oh, well, that's a relief."
"Why is that a relief?!" Rarity asked.
"Because Applejack's not in Sweet Acorn Orchard." Derpy said. "Do you want me to get the package to and deliver it to her?"
"NO!" Rarity snapped, causing 2 ponies to perk up at her and then clears her throat with a nervous smile. "Uh, may I have the address for Sweet Acorn Orchard? I think I'll just collect the package myself."
"Are you sure?" Derpy asked. "'Cause I would be happy to-"
"You have helped so much already." Rarity assured and took off with the address.
She then heads as a unicorn approaches Derpy with a present to be delivered.
"Break time!" Derpy nervously announced as she then leaves and the unicorn stallion just dropped the present in annoyance.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile, Spike was heading back to the Castle of Friendship with the fire ruby in his hands while straining a bit. He may have gotten the gem out of the cave, but it still had some rocks on it.
He stops for a moment as he tries to catch his breath and wipes some sweat off his head.
"Man, I knew I should've gotten a wheel barrel for this thing." Spike said, irritatingly before he recomposed himself. "But it's gotta be for Ember to love, and I know she'll like this in her collection."
Spike then picked the fire ruby up as he grunted a bit before he continued onward to the Castle of Friendship.
Meanwhile, Rainbow and Discord were still looking around to find something for Fluttershy. Rainbow looks through a window, and smiles.
"Oh, goodness, no." Discord said as he shook his head.
"Ugh!" Rainbow groaned in annoyance as she moves over to a door.
"Even worse!" Discord said disgustingly.
Rainbow looks and saw Discord's face as a picture on the sign.
"Oh, come on!" Rainbow complained. "Fluttershy would love a spa day with Sokka!"
"Really? Love the stress of deciding which treatment to get with those two love birds?" Discord asked. "Love worrying that Fluttershy's not relaxing enough? Or relaxing too much? And what about all those sweet animals she's left alone for her lackey to look after?! So much to worry about, and all because of you."
"She's Fluttershy!" Rainbow reminded him. "Everything makes her worry!"
"Now you should like somepony who knows her!" Discord said with a smirk.
"Well, if you're an expert on Fluttershy, what did you get her?" Rainbow asked sternly as Discord glared at her.
"Oh, and you honestly expect me to tell you what I got Fluttershy so that you can one-up me?" Discord questioned as he turns away a bit before he turns to look back at Rainbow as half of his body is gone, due to his magic. "Well, I have half a mind to stop you entirely."
"Good!" Rainbow shouted, having enough of Discord as his other half appeared, making him whole again. "Please stop helping me! I'm begging you!"
She then walks away from him.
"Well, I suppose I could tell you what my backup present present was." Discord said with a grin.
"Great. Still helping." Rainbow said sarcastically while continuing to walk away.
"It would've made a lovely addition to her animal sanctuary." Discord said. "But you have to be the fastest pony in Equestria to even have a chance of-"
Rainbow's interest sparked and flew back to Discord.
"Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa." Rainbow interested with a smirk. "You're talking to the fastest pony in Equestria! If there's some fast animal out there Fluttershy would love,I'm the one who can get it."
"OH, I just don't know." Discord said unsure.
"I'm calling it! Dibs!" Rainbow shouted, raising her hoof.
"If you insist." Discord said and then he snaps his fingers, disappearing. Suddenly, his arm reaches and pulls Rainbow with him.
(Scene changes)
Meanwhile, Twilight was in her library still working on a present for Pinkie and is at a drawing board.
"The ideal gift for Pinkie Pie needs to be A - unique, B - specific to her personality, and C - food based." Twilight said as she drew a circular diagram. "What is a unique food? Cupcakes? Nah. Cookies? Nope. Pies? Pastries? Pudding?" She then gasped as it rang a bell and her expression turned into a mad pony. "Wait! PUUUUUUUUUUUUDDING!" She recomposed herself and then flew up to grab a book. "After defeating the Windigos, the Earth Pony, Pegasi, and Unicorn nations prepared the first Hearth's Warming meal together. Chancellor Puddinghead made a pudding so delicious, legends were written about it!" This is it!" Twilight finding the right gift, happily. "Unique, totally Pinkie, the most incredible dessert ever!"
Twilight then draws a check on the board, and flips a page, but then she panics as she goes through the book trying to find the recipe of Puddinghead's pudding recipe.
She even shook the book if a note was in it.
"Where's the recipe?!" Twilight asked, panicked.
(Scene changes)
Back in Rainbow Falls, Applejack now with a gift for Spike found Fluttershy at a booth.
"I've narrowed down my choices for Rainbow Dash to a Wonderbolt action figure, or a Daring Do Book. Oh, and I also got Clay a little something for him too." Applejack said as she brought out a wonderbolt's action figure and a Daring Do book.
Then Fluttershy showed her gift for Rarity, but the sight of it made Applejack jumped with a surprised yelp.
"Aah! What is that?!" Applejack asked as she was creeped out.
The gift Fluttershy got looked more like parts of an old bag and stuffed into a doll.
"Holly the Hearth's Warmer doll." Fluttershy answered. "Isn't she sweet?"
She then pulls on the pullstring on her back.
"I love being an expensive toy!" The doll said in a low male's voice.
"Egh." Applejack said disgustingly as she got up still recovering from the jump. "Why'd you think that was a good gift for Rarity?"
"It's the must-have gift of the season." Fluttershy said. "And in short supply."
Then some ponies came by with Holly dolls of their own.
"Short supply", huh?" Applejack said, sensing something familiar. "How much did that set you back?"
"All my bits." Fluttershy answered and then realized something. "All my bits? Can I burrow some for the train ride home?"
Applejack just had an annoyed look on her face as she spared a few bits and gave them to Fluttershy.
"Somethin' about this here doll seems fishy." Applejack suspiciously said about the doll. "And I ain't just talkin' about the smell of that plastic. Where'd you get it?"
Fluttershy point to the booth where she got it, and they headed over to the booth. There was a crowd as the two friends went behind the tent and saw the same unicorn that got the crowd's attention earlier with a cart of supplies. Applejack and Fluttershy peeled the curtains to peek inside, and saw Flim and Flam seeing their disguises.
"Flim and Flam!" Applejack said angrily as she glared. "What are those Hearth's Warmin' hooligans up to now?!"

Merry Christmas! I managed to get both two chapters down. I wasn't able to make it up for the whole TMNT episode of The Christmas Aliens. I was only able to get it done for a short time. Unfortunately, the last chapter won't be until by the end of this weekend. Truth is I've started to come down with a nasty cold so I've gotta take it easy for now. But I'll be back to writing the last one, as well as the season finale, Rainbow Roadtrip, and the Curse of The Demodragon King soon enough.
