My Pov
"What did you say? This is unbelievable! Hmm, well, the unbelievable has been on parade today." Crowley said. He looked to the Dark Mirror, who remained silent. "This is the first time something like this has ever happened since I became headmaster, what should be..." He then looked at us. "Where exactly did you all come from?"
"Shibuya, Japan." we all answered.
"I've never heard of that place." Crowley said. We must be in some another dimension. "I have a grasp of where all the students come from, but I've never even heard of that place before. Let's do some research in the library." We followed him back to the library and he began to look through many books and scrolls.
"Do you think this means we can't go home?" Ran asked.
"I mean, if the mirror is saying it can't find our home, we're probably going to be stuck here for a while." Tora said. Home... I thought about our backpacks that we had with us. What happened to them? And mom... I had her urn in mine. What if it's still back there? Or worse, fell into the river? Finally, Crowley came back to where we all were.
"There isn't anything. Not only the world map, but the name of your town isn't written in any history document." he said. We all looked at each other. "Are you all truly from where you say? You aren't lying to be by chance?"
"Of course not!" Nagisa said.
"What reason do we have to lie?" Fumino asked. Crowley seemed to ponder this for a minute.
"Looking at all this, you all may have been brought here from another planet... There's also the possibility you're all from another world." Crowley said.
"That seems to be the case..." Hikari said.
"What did all of you have on you when you came here? Do you have any identification, like a license for a magic car, name on a shoe... You each appear to be empty handed." Crowley asked.
"Nothing. We each had a backpack with our items in them, but it seems the bag weren't brought with us..." Mikan said.
"Backpacks? Do you mean these?" Crowley asked, snapping his fingers. There, appeared our backpacks!
"Yes!" we all exclaimed. We each quickly grabbed our backpack and checked to make sure our belongings were still there. I sighed with relief when I saw Mom's urn was there and intact.
"Kokomi?" Sayumi asked.
"She still in there." I said. They all sighed with relief too. I then dug through my bag and found found my number card and health insurance card. "These are the only things each of us have for identification." I handed him both cards and he examined them.
"Well, what you say is true, but these don't offer much help." Crowley said. We all sighed. "This is concerning. I can't just let people who can't use magic to stay at the school. However, as an educator, I can't just toss penniless teenage girls out on the street with no form of communication. For I am gracious" Wow. Maybe he was as gracious as he said. Not even our own teachers were this considerate.
"Well, if there's an vacant room or building of some sorts anywhere, we'd happily take it." Yurina suggested. Crowley seemed to have some sort of revelation.
"That's perfect! There is an unused building on campus. It was once used as a dormitory in the past, so if you girls clean it up, you should be able to at least sleep there." Crowley said. Well, at least we wouldn't be homeless. As long as it had a roof, walls and windows, we'd make do. "For the time being I shall allow you all to stay there! Then I look for away to return you home. My graciousness is limitless! I am a model for all educators." We all looked at each other and giggled. "We had better be on our way. Let's head to the dormitory. It may be old, but it has a certain charm to it."
...
...
...
I see what he meant by 'charm'. It was really old and I could tell it had been taken care of in quite a while.
"This might be a little too much charm..." Emiko said.
"Right, right. Please come inside." Crowley said, ushering us inside. We all took note of the dust, the cobwebs, the gaps in the ceiling, torn and stained wallpaper, portraits on the floor and the scattered, broken pieces of furniture. "Staying here will at least keep you ladies out of the rain."
"Hardly." Azuna mumbled under her breath.
"I'm going back to do more research. Make yourselves at home. Don't go wandering around the school! Goodbye!" Crowley said. With that, he vanished.
"The dust looks like snow... we'd have to clean just to sit down. " Arisa said. I dug through my backpack and found the spare set of clothes I had. I slowly took off my Ceremonial Robes and folded them up and began dressing myself in my plain clothes.
"Well, let's change our clothes and get to cleaning." I said. It took a few hours, but we managed to clean up the dust and cobwebs. That's when the sound of rain began to bounce off the ceiling.
"Hyii! It's really coming down!" Wait. That voice belonged to Grim! That's when he popped out from underneath one of the sofas. "Gyahaha! You've all got these stupid looks on your faces like spiders being attack by a water gun!"
"What the hell are you doing here?" Tora asked, clearly irritated.
"Didn't they throw you out?" Fumino asked.
"I have no problems sneaking back into this school. If you think getting thrown out is gonna make me give up on getting in, you've got another thing coming!" Grim said. I knelt down to Grim's level.
"Why do you want to go to this school so badly?" I asked. I really want to know what made him so determined.
"That's simple. I am a genius who is destined to be a great wizard!" Grim exclaimed. He had said that during the ceremony.
"Doesn't the Ebony Carriage need to get you in order for you to be accepted here?" Nagisa asked.
"I've been waiting for the Ebony Carriage to come pick me up. But... but..." Grim started tearing up a bit.
"It never has." Sayumi finished. Grim sad face instantly disappeared at Sayumi's comment.
"Hmph! The Dark Mirror just doesn't have an eye for this. So that's why I came here on my own." Grim said. Well, he kind of had a point. It did let twelve magicless girls into the school. "Not letting me in would be a lost for the world, humans just don't get it." Okay, now he's boasting. Grim suddenly jolt up as a drop of rain hit his head. "Nyaa! So cold! The roof's leaking!"
"That figures. No one's taken care of this building in a long time." Yurina said.
"Fgyaa! It keeps coming! My adorable ear fire is going to go out at this rate!" Grim exclaimed. Oh yeah. His ears did have fire in them.
"There's no way we can patch the roof tonight. All we can do is put out some pans to catch the water." Emiko said.
"Why don't you use magic to fix the holes in the roof?" Grim asked. We all had a pause. Grim then started laughing. "Wha, you can't use magic? Pfft! You're all useless!" Useless. Useless. Useless. That word. All our lives; at the orphanage, at school, at our jobs... that word was always thrown at us. Nagisa started shaking and slid to the floor, sobs quietly coming from her. "Eh? What's wrong with her?"
"Shut it, cat!" Tora snapped.
"Gyaaaaaaa!" Grim exclaimed. I was worried that Tora might actually kill him. Before anyone move, we heard laughing.
We haven't had guests in so long...
I'm itching for some action.
What was that? Nagisa's sobs were replaced with whimpers as she clung to Fumino. Suddenly, white figures began swirling around us.
"What's going on?!" Mikan cried. The figures suddenly stopped and materialized in front of us. It was three ghosts!
"Welcome... heeheehee!" the ghost said, laughing hysterically.
"GHOSTS!" we all screamed.
I apologize if it seems like I'm dragging out the story or the dialogue is a little weird, but I'm going by parts of a translated version on YouTube and it's broken up into parts.
