Chapter 5: Devils in the duels
"Wow! So you're saying that you can summon monsters from other dimensions? Something like that… MUST MEAN YOUR A HERO!"
Sasha and I were sitting at the table in the kitchen, I was previously explaining the reason a mechanical man stopped the monster girl from attacking us. I also told her why we were the focus of an attack in the first place. "No." I said while waving my hand. "I am not a hero of any kind. I just want to change the future to better everyone, and stop GOD." Sasha gasps at my claim and seemed genuinely worried by the statement. "But didnt the chief goddess give you this power, Yusei? Why would you betray her?"
I rolled my eyes. "First of all the chief god did not give me any kind of power, that came from something else. Second I said GOD as in all capital letters. The type of being who could wipe us all off the map. Chief god included." Sasha cutely tilted her head and seemed to wonder what kind of being could just over power another god like that. "Anyway," I continued, "he thinks I was the duel priest of his world but it seems that it's not the case."
Sasha raised her hand at that, making me slightly annoyed. "Sasha this isn't a classroom just ask your question." She blushed in embarrassment and put her hand back on her lap. "If your not this 'dual priest' then how can you beat him? Do you have a better power?"
I nodded and smirked, looking at the deck in my hand. "Yeah, I have the power of a Signer dragon. A dragon bestowed to the people of the stars."
"People of stars?" She echoed my mention of the ancient ones.
"Yes, the legend of people of the stars predates most myths of all worlds. They worshiped the dragon star god in hopes of saving themselves and others from the evil earthbound immortals who wanted all souls and life to be their food. But with the help of the dragon star they were able to seal them back into the earth as lines drawn into the dirt."
Sasha leaned in a bit more, clearly excited. "So you have this power too then Yusei!?"
Again a smile graced my face. "Right. And I'll use it to save everyone from their horrible fates!"
The sun shined into the area from the window onto us. I quickly stood back up, and pushed in my chair while still talking to her. "Get some rest for now, I must get ready for more potential duelists attacking me. When the time is right I'll show you my monsters."
