Author's note: Hello everyone, here it is again "Mr. G" or Giancarlo, you can call me either of those two nicknames.
I apologize for my inactivity, I had some problems with the internet (Basically, the signal was down for a few days)
Anyway, I've seen the comments since the last chapter I uploaded and I'm glad to hear that you guys are liking the story.
I mean, it still amazes me that this story is being supported to continue. I can't thank you guys enough.
With nothing more to say for now, let's get on with it!
Camp Wawanakwa looked pretty peaceful and quiet at 5:30 in the morning. Sometimes it makes you curious to find out what the island was like before the producers and Chris McLean decided to use it as a filming location. Anyway, each of the campers rested quietly and hoped that the next challenge would be a little easier to do, yesterday was not a good experience to jump off a cliff into the water full of sharks.
Unfortunately, the sadistic host had appeared on the scene and stood in the middle of the campers' cabins.
In his hands he carried a megaphone and a horn, if you were smart enough to think about why Chris brought that, you would understand.
Chris began to smile while he put both objects together, he turned on the megaphone and brought the horn closer to it.
And with a last but evil movement, he blew the horn and started a terrible awakening.
...
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM!
Cody opened his eyes immediately, getting up but accidentally hitting his head against the top of the bed.
"Crap! I forgot this part!" The geek thought in annoyance, while covering his ears from the loud noise of the megaphone.
"What the hell?!" Tyler woke up in surprise, accidentally falling off the top of the bunk, waking Ezekiel as well.
"Hey, what's going on, eh?!" Ezekiel asked, quickly pulling his beanie over his head, covering his ears as well.
"Ack! Where's that annoying noise coming from?!" Trent said, getting up from his bed while covering his ears.
"It's 6:30 in the morning, do I look like a farmer to you?!" Leshawna shouted from the other cabin, her tone of voice implying she was angry.
"It's time for the challenge, campers! Everyone suit up and get ready for an incredibly exhausting challenge!" Chris responded, turning off the horn and megaphone.
Shouts of annoyance from the campers didn't hesitate to erupt, though all they caused was for the host to keep smiling.
"Our host just gave you the answer to your question." Noah said with a deadpan tone, removing his hands from his ears.
"Man, I don't even get up THAT early for school!" Tyler complained, painfully picking himself up off the floor.
"I guess there's no other way, time to get up." Cody said, the rest of the boys nodded reluctantly.
"What do you think the challenge will be about?" Ezekiel asked the geek.
"No idea, but we're going to find out." Cody lied, he knew the challenge but obviously wasn't going to tell.
After a few minutes, the remaining 21 campers were standing outside the cabins already dressed. Most of them had some bags under their eyes from lack of sleep, it was noticeable that they were not used to getting up so early.
If they think that getting up early to go to high school is difficult, they might as well wait until the time they enter the university.
"Good morning everyone! I hope everyone slept well!" Chris said, putting on a white smile as he saw the sleepy state of some of the campers.
"You know, I think it was a bad idea to stay up too late at the jacuzzi party." Trent whispered to the geek, who just nodded in agreement.
"Well, I hope you're ready, because your next challenge is about to begin in exactly 1 minute!" The host said.
"Uh, Chris? I don't think that's enough time for breakfast?" Owen asked.
"Owen, even I know you're capable of finishing a whole huge buffet if you put your mind to it."
"Oh, don't worry, you'll have breakfast. Right after you finish your 20km race around the lake!" Chris replied, getting grumbles from the campers.
"Aww, man, that sucks." Geoff said reluctantly, yawning a little.
"At least we can eat a little snack while we run." Ezekiel said, pulling out a small granola bar.
Before the homeschool boy bit into the snack, Chris took it from him by surprise and threw that into some bushes.
"Hey! Why did you do that, eh?" Ezekiel demanded, looking at the host.
"You can't eat until you finish your run either, that wouldn't be fair." Chris added, noticing how most of the campers were now staring at the homeschool boy.
"You had to open your mouth..." Heather said to Ezekiel, who could only smile nervously.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" Eva asked angrily to the sadistic host.
"A little." Chris smiled in response, "You have 30 seconds to get ready, so get in position."
While a few campers followed the host to the starting point, DJ stayed behind when he noticed Katie walking a little slow.
The gentle giant approached her, looking at her with a bit of concern, "You're still sad she's not here anymore, right?" he said.
Katie nodded weakly, "I miss her so much." She said with a sad tone.
DJ was quiet for a few seconds, but spoke again, "Listen, I know you didn't expect Sadie to be the first to go. But I trust you'll get through it, you have to stay strong and determined, do it for her and our team." He said, while giving a smile.
The BFF looked at him, before she also started to smile, "You're right...I can do it, I'll go further for her." She said with a new determination.
"That's the attitude! Now, we'd better get together with the others, we don't want to be the last to leave." He said, watching as Katie nodded in agreement with him.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"DJ is right, I know I can do it! I promise you Sadie, I will make you proud of me!" Katie said with determination.
Static
"Yesterday my team made the right decision by keeping me in the competition. I'm a CIT, it's obvious they need me." Courtney said, forming a smug smile.
Static
"Miss CIT better prove that being useful to the team, she was lucky that the delinquent interfered and gave his opinion." Eva said seriously.
Static
"Normally I have no problem going out for a long run, but seriously I'm so tired!" Tyler said, yawning a little.
All the campers have already taken their positions, reluctantly preparing for a very long and tiring race.
"Allright campers, on your marks...get ready...GO!" Chris said, while using the horn again.
The teens ran off at once, with the exception of Tyler, who almost stumbled a bit due to lack of sleep, but kept running.
...
At the start, Cody, Eva, Trent, Beth, Courtney, Lindsay, Geoff, DJ and Duncan led the group in the race, with Bridgette and Justin close behind. Noah and Tyler also followed a little behind them, although the bookworm was walking a little slower than the athlete. Most of the campers who had started the race running now had slowed down and were walking at a leisurely pace. Ezekiel, Katie, Harold and Gwen were walking together in a group.
"How much further to the finish, eh?" Ezekiel said, trying to catch his breath.
"I have no idea, I'm not very good at running long distances." Katie replied.
"Gosh, how cruel is our host to make us run at this hour?" Harold asked.
Gwen looked at the trio with a bored expression, "Yeah, you three? Don't walk beside me." She said, stepping a little away from them.
Ezekiel, Katie and Harold watched in confusion as the goth girl walking away, but simply shrugged.
"So...what did you guys think of yesterday's challenge?" Katie asked, trying to make some conversation.
"I don't want to talk about it..." Harold replied, shuddering a little at the memory of that incident.
Meanwhile with the larger group of campers...
"Your name is Devon Joseph, isn't it?" Geoff asked DJ curiously.
"Yes, but I prefer to be called 'DJ', I've gotten used to that nickname." DJ replied.
"That's a good nickname!" Beth said with a cheerful tone, making the gentle giant smile.
Trent was about to give his opinion, but Lindsay approached him. "Hey, Traint! What do you think of my new hair style?" She asked.
The guitarist looked at the bimbo blonde's hair, noticing that the only thing different was that there was a rose pin in her blonde hair.
"Uhhh, looks pretty good?..." Trent said with some confusion, but trying to give a friendly response.
Lindsay began to smile at the guitarist's response, ignoring the confused tone he used, "Awww, thank you so much for saying that, you look cute too."
The guitarist blinked a little, though he smiled a little, "Thanks...I guess."
Duncan watched the conversation between the guitarist and the bimbo blonde, "Man, he doesn't even realize what's going on." He thought, smiling mockingly.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"I wonder why Lindsay is looking for chat with me than with the others, I mean, I don't have a problem with that." Trent said with some confusion.
Static
"Yesterday was a good day, I got to talk to Trent at the party and I think we're already pretty good friends!" Lindsay said, giving a bright smile for the camera.
Static
"Usually girls like Lindsay prefer athletes, but I think it works with musicians too." Duncan said, shrugging his shoulders.
Cody was silently observing his surroundings, the only things he could see were the trees and some small animals passing by (mostly birds and squirrels). He was thinking about how the events of the day's challenge would go, because things should go as they originally happened, but it seems that fate itself sometimes changed things as it pleased. That's worrisome, but he just has to stay positive and trust that everything will work out well...maybe.
"Hopefully tonight I'll get through to The Gentleman, I have some questions about yesterday." Cody thought, while directing his gaze towards the other campers.
The geek raised an eyebrow when he saw CIT approaching him, it seemed a little strange to him.
In her original timeline, she was focused on the race and didn't have time to talk to the others until they reached the cafeteria.
"Huh, I wonder what she wants to talk to me about."
"Uh...Hi Cody," Courtney said, while looking at the geek.
"Hey, Courts." Cody greeted, smiling a little.
Courtney cleared her throat a little, "Well...I came here to thank you for the eye drops, that really helped deflate the swelling." She said.
"Oh, I guess that was it."
"That's good to know. Trust me, it's good to see your eye look normal, yesterday it looked worse." Cody said in a calm tone.
Courtney started reaching into her pants pocket for something. A few seconds later, she pulled out the eye drops that Cody had handed her, the geek could guess what CIT's intention was to look for that medical item.
"Here I'll give this back to you, thanks." Courtney said in a calm tone, showing him the eye drops.
Cody looked at the medical item, before shaking his head, "You can keep that, I think you might need it later." He said.
"Are you sure? What if you need it in the future too?" CIT asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Don't worry, I have an extra one in my things. I've prepared well to be in this program, I mean, anything could happen." Cody replied, shrugging.
Courtney looked at him curiously, while putting away the eye drops, "Maybe you're right. Until now, I didn't expect the show to be any different than what was presented in the TV promos."
"None of us expected it, but I don't think the others would mind being here." Cody said calmly.
"Well everyone here is interested in winning that money, it's obvious they wouldn't bother." Courtney said with a mocking tone.
The geek chuckled a little, "If that's the main reason, then I'm not interested. I just came here to make friends and create some unforgettable memories." He said with an honest tone.
There was a few seconds of awkward silence, CIT gave a strange look to the geek, who got a little uncomfortable due to the sudden silence.
"Are you serious?..." Courtney asked.
"For realsies."
"That's...unexpected. I thought you were the kind of guy who came here just to flirt with the ladies." CIT said, looking with a raised eyebrow at the geek.
Cody blushed in embarrassment a little, not liking to remember those embarrassing moments he went through when he wore 'The Codeimeister' facade.
"Emm, why do you think I would do that?" The geek said, trying to hide the embarrassment he felt at the thought of that.
"I don't know, you just give me that kind of vibe, Codester?" Courtney said, scoffing a little at the geek's nickname.
"Oh, great. Just when I was thinking about forgetting about that nickname, this happens." Cody thought with a bit of annoyance, though he was also smiling a little.
He could remember that while Courtney was a good person, her competitive attitude throughout the seasons was always...over exaggerated in a sense, to the point that it was annoying, she would blow everything out of proportion because of that very competitiveness, always considering the other team's team as her enemy or someone who would want to sabotage her team without first proving otherwise.
In his original timeline, he didn't get a chance to talk to her because of the challenges, even though she acted a bit hostile towards him. I mean, he still remembers when she almost let a bear attack him, Owen, DJ and Tyler just to get the briefcase with the money.
After All Stars ended, she didn't seek to talk to anyone from the original cast, she felt like all her efforts and sacrifices she made to get the award were for nothing. It also doesn't help that her pride was a little shattered when she was flushed down a giant toilet (and not to mention the sharks that puked on her, ugh).
Still, Cody made the attempt to talk to her and try to be friends. Which was working a little...until Duncan called Cody to help him get out of prison.
The geek had no regrets about helping get Duncan out of prison. But in doing so, he ended up on the CIT's blacklist, which meant she didn't even want to see him in person.
That really sucks, huh?
...
But whatever, that doesn't matter anymore, now he was in the past and he had a chance to help Courtney be friendlier or keep her from being so competitive.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"Cody is a little strange...and I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just that he seems so calm and unworried. But...I think he's someone I can trust, though I shouldn't let my guard down." Courtney said with a sincere tone.
Heather kept walking, ignoring the annoyed looks from her teammates who ran by her side.
"They can give me bad looks all they want, but I'm not running. Especially with these shoes on." Heather thought.
"Can't...catch...breath...must...have...condition!" Owen said, only to fall into the water, unable to catch his breath.
"Yeah, it's called overeating." Heather said coolly, while walking over the chubby boy with no concern for his well-being.
"Oh come on! You didn't need to do that, Heather." Cody said, startling the queen bee.
"What the...since when are you walking next to me, twerp?" Heather demanded, looking with a raised eyebrow at the geek.
"I just got here next to Leshawna, she's getting some air now." Cody replied, looking to the side as the big sister is leaning against a tree.
"Oh lord...now I'm too tired to say an insult to you, chick." Leshawna said to the queen bee, while trying to catch her own breath.
Before the queen bee could respond, the host appeared on the scene while using an electric scooter and raising the megaphone to his mouth.
"Speed up the beat, campers. If you don't make it to the finish line for breakfast, then you won't eat!"
"I hate him." Heather said angrily, looking at the passing host with a smile on her face.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better. Anything that goes up will always have to come down." Cody said, glaring at the host.
"How does that make me feel-"
While Chris continued to tease the other campers with the megaphone, he didn't notice how a huge boulder was in the way. When the front wheels of his electric scooter hit that rock, the scooter immediately stopped and sent the host flying, who let out a scream of surprise, and then crashed into some bushes in the forest.
"Ugh..." Chris said with a pained tone.
Obviously, the laughter of the campers who were in the place did not hesitate to come out of their mouths when they saw such a funny scene happened to the host.
Cody brushed away a small tear, looking back at the queen bee. "You were saying, Heather?" he said with a mocking tone.
"Shut up, dork." Heather replied, though she smiled a little at the misfortune that happened to the host.
After that funny incident, many campers had already finished their run and were sitting at their tables, exhausted and waiting for their remaining campers. The only campers missing from the dining hall were Owen, Noah, Cody, Heather, Leshawna, Harold and Ezekiel. Suddenly, Owen burst through the door, carrying Noah who was 'passed out' over his shoulder.
"CLEAR A TABLE, IMMEDIATELY! WE HAVE A MAN DOWN!" Owen shouted, while approaching the nearest table.
"Let's go, free ride to victory." Noah thought, while faking the role of the passed out guy.
Owen set Noah down on the table, he began to breathe in desperation, "I'm going to have to do CPR!" He said, placing his hands on the bookworm's chest.
"Wait, what?" Noah thought, his eyes immediately widening as he realized what was going to happen to him.
"Here we go, clear!" Owen said, ignoring that Noah was awake and proceeding to perform CPR on the bookworm.
Crack!
"Okay...I think you just fractured...some of my ribs." Noah said in a blank but pained tone, startling the chubby boy who jumped away.
A few minutes passed; Heather, Leshawna and Cody had just arrived at the cafeteria, the three teens looked tired but managed to stumble to their seats.
"We...made it." Leshawna said, immediately grabbing the nearest bottle of water and started drinking it.
"Mental note, don't forget that I no longer have the same physique I had in the future." Cody thought, also grabbing a bottle of water.
Just a few seconds passed, Ezekiel also arrived at the cafeteria but ended up falling face first to the ground due to exhaustion. While Harold entered another few seconds later, having a hand on his chest and trying to catch his breath.
"Hahaha! That's really going to hurt later." Duncan chuckled, watching as the homeschool boy let out a small groan of pain.
Tyler and Trent reached over to help Ezekiel, grabbing him by the shoulders and pulling him to the only empty seat at the table.
Courtney stood up to reprimand Harold, "What's wrong with you, you lost us the challenge!" She said, looking at him angrily.
"I think I might be having heart palpitations." Harold said, still clutching his chest in pain.
"Wait, if they lost...then that means we won the challenge." Gwen said, getting her team's attention.
Immediately, the rest of the Screaming Moles celebrated their victory, including Noah and Ezekiel who despite being sore joined in the cheering.
Although the only one not celebrating was Cody, who knew what was going to happen next.
"Hey, hey, don't get excited, guys. That wasn't the challenge!" Chris said with a mocking tone, on his face a band aid could be seen on his forehead.
The celebratory shouts stopped at that, Gwen opened her mouth to speak, "What did you just say?" She said, looking seriously at the host.
"Let me ask you guys something...Who's hungry?" Chris replied, while walking over to a large red curtain and revealing the table with a huge buffet that amazed all the campers.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"I think I speak for everyone when I say the food looked pretty amazing." Duncan said, crossing his arms while looking into the camera.
Static
"After eating nothing but brown sludge all day yesterday, I almost cried when I saw that buffet." Gwen said, looking with a smile at the camera.
Static
"And then I saw it...the buffet table, it was beautiful, there was turkey, chocolate bars, baked beans, cotton candy sugar and maple syrup...Can I have a moment?" Owen said, before he began to cry softly while covering his face with his hands.
Static
"I've never seen a table with a huge amount of food on it before...Holy cow, this is what it feels like to be in paradise, eh?" Ezekiel said, not realizing that a small tear was falling from his eye.
Cody watched as all the campers rushed to grab a portion of every dish on the buffet table, it was obvious that they were hungry.
Unlike them, the geek had approached Chef Hatchet's table and asked him to serve him a portion of the original breakfast.
He obviously knew what Chris was planning, so he might as well avoid suffering any stomach problems from eating from the buffet.
Anyway, he still had the sweets he bought before he came back to the program.
...
Yeah, the geek's love for candy never changed.
"Now that I think about it, how is it possible that none of them got sick from consuming too much food?" Cody thought, trying to search for some answer.
He didn't notice how Chef Hatchet looked at him with a raised eyebrow, though he smiled a little while watching the geek continue to eat his food.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"Scrawny sure has a good taste in food, why can't the others appreciate that?" Chef Hatchet said with a serious tone.
Most of the campers were now groaning on the floor due to the high consumption of delicious dishes from the buffet, they had full stomachs and were starting to get sleepy.
Too bad bedtime wouldn't be what they had expected.
Chris hopped up on the table, "Alright campers, it's time for the second part of the challenge!" Chris announced through his megaphone, causing the campers to cover their ears.
"But I thought eating was part two!" Owen exclaimed, looking at the host in surprise.
"What more do you want from us?" Gwen asked in frustration.
"Weird goth girl is right, haven't we been through enough?" Heather said, looking seriously at the host.
"Umm, let me think about that...NO!" Chris said, chuckling. "It's time for the next part of your challenge: The Awake-a-thon!"
"The What-a-thon?" Ezekiel asked with a confused tone.
"This is easy! The team with the last camper awake wins invincibility, while those who fall asleep are out of the challenge." Chris said, explaining the challenge.
"So, what you're saying is that the 20K race and turkey eating frenzy were part of your evil plan to make it harder for us to stay awake?" Gwen said, raising an eyebrow.
"That's right, Gwen." Chris nodded, still smiling.
"Man, he's good." Gwen complimented the host, causing Leshawna to nod.
"Move, move, move!" The host exclaimed, using the PA again.
The campers began to slowly file out of the dining hall one by one, as Gwen, Trent and Cody walked together.
"This is going to be a long day...or I mean night...umm, I'd better say this challenge is going to be complicated." The geek thought.
"So, how long do you think before everyone gets knocked out?" Trent asked the geek and the goth girl.
"About an hour, more or less." Gwen replied.
Owen then walked past Gwen, Cody and Trent, looking like he was about to pass out at any moment.
"Yeah, it's probably maybe less..." Cody said, Gwen and Trent nodded in agreement with him.
Time Count - 11:59:54
The campers were all sitting in their respective seats, trying to stay awake or somehow distract themselves from sleeping.
"And now we're 12 hours into the challenge, all 21 campers are still awake." Chris said, sitting down next to Chef Hatchet while they were away from the campers.
Each of them were exhausted and slouched in their seats, while some were moving to stay awake, for example we have Owen.
"Stay awake for twelve hours? I can do that while I sleep! Whoohoo!" Owen clapped his hands enthusiastically...before suddenly collapsing to the floor.
The Screaming Gophers team campers watched as the chubby boy was now sleeping, they just rolled their eyes at that.
"Looks like we have our first camper asleep, let's see who else will join him." Chris said with a mocking tone.
"Well, at least he made the attempt." Cody thought.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"The Awake-a-thon? Easily the most brutal thing I've ever done in my life." Gwen said with a sincere tone.
Static
"My parents don't usually let me stay up too late, but I guess I don't have a choice now, eh." Ezekiel said, scratching his head a little.
"This is definitely the most boring thing I've ever done in my life." Gwen said to Trent, who looked at the goth girl.
"Well, it could be worse." Trent said, drawing the goth girl's attention.
Cody was near them, watching the scene, "And here goes the moment where Trent makes his most effective move on Gwen."
"Oh, yeah? How?" Gwen arched an eyebrow.
"I could get stuck here without you to talk to." Trent said, giving Gwen a smile, causing her to blush slightly.
The geek smiled after watching the scene, knowing that his guitarist friend just caught the goth girl's attention.
Although he didn't notice the queen bee and the bimbo blonde staring at the guitarist from afar, Heather raised an eyebrow at what he observed while Lindsay made a small pout.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"So, my strategy is to get two other campers to form an alliance with me and take them to the final 3. The only question is, who can I find that is desperate or dumb enough to do whatever I say?" Heather said, placing two fingers to her chin.
Static
"Awww, maybe I should have sat next to Traint..." Lindsay said with a small tone of sadness in her voice.
Ezekiel looked bored at the campfire, still thinking about what had happened yesterday. He almost ended up being Leshawna's enemy because of her comments, but he was lucky to have gone to see what Cody was doing and know that the comments he said to the big sister were bad. At least he got to apologize to the big sister and feel reassured that he wasn't on her bad side, that's good news.
The homeschool boy knows that his new friend Cody would help him learn how things work in the world, maybe even learn how to use 'teenspeak'.
"I wonder what everyone else is up to, eh." Ezekiel thought, turning his gaze to his teammates.
He noticed some of them chatting amongst themselves, as an example there was Gwen and Trent, who were talking rather quietly.
"Hmm, maybe I could try talking to someone on our team, eh." The homeschool boy thought, placing two fingers to his chin.
He first thought about talking to Cody, but saw that he was talking to Noah. Then he looked over at Beth and Tyler, who looked a little sleepy, the homeschool boy looked at them curiously.
"I guess I could try talking to them, it would be a good chance to make some new friends, eh." Ezekiel thought, while getting up from his seat and walking towards them.
While Beth and Tyler were lost in their own thoughts, the homeschool guy approached them. "You guys are a little worried about the challenge, aren't ya?" he asked.
Beth turned her gaze to Ezekiel, "Not gonna lie, I thought eating that buffet was the second challenge." She said.
"Same..." Tyler said, yawning a little, "By the way, Your name is Ezekiel, right?"
The homeschool boy nodded, "Yeah, and I guess you're Tyler and Beth, eh." He said, while forming a smile on his face.
"Yep! It's nice to meet you, Ezekiel!" Beth said, extending her hand as a gesture of greeting.
"Likewise!" Ezekiel said, also extending his hand, forming a formal gesture of greeting with the farm girl.
Both teens separated their hands, the farm girl decided to continue the conversation. "Well...what do you think about yesterday's challenges?" She asked curiously.
"Umm, I'd say it was a little harder than I thought it would be." Tyler replied, though he flinched a little when he remembered the moment where he crashed into a buoy.
"That's true, although it was also a little scary. I've never jumped off a cliff, eh." Ezekiel said, remembering when he hit some rocks while falling off the cliff into the water.
"Me neither, at first I thought about chickening out...but when Cody gave his speech to all of us, I decided I should try to act brave." Beth said, smiling.
"That little boy didn't even flinch when he jumped off the cliff, he looked like he'd done it before." Tyler commented, laughing a little.
Ezekiel, Beth and Tyler looked at the geek, who was talking to the bookworm, though the latter was more focused on his book.
"You know, Cody's a cool guy. He helped us out quite a bit in the challenges yesterday, now our team gets to enjoy an awesome jacuzzi." The athlete said, smiling a little.
Beth sighed dreamily, "I know, Cody is so cool, cute and attractive." She said, before realizing she used the words 'cute' and 'attractive'.
"Yeah, that's...Wait, what do you mean he's-" Ezekiel said, looking curiously at the farm girl.
"Nothing!" Beth quickly said, the athlete and the homeschool guy looked at her with narrowed eyes but then shrugged.
...
"Achoo!" Cody sneezed a little, interrupting the conversation he was having with the bookworm.
"Bless you." Noah said with a deadpan tone, though he handed the geek a small handkerchief.
"Thanks, man." The geek said, grabbing the scarf and putting it in his pocket in case he sneezed again.
"So, what were you telling me about the challenges to come?" Noah said.
"Oh right, I was going to say that seeing how things went in the first challenge, I highly doubt we're going to do anything purely mental." Cody explained.
"I see, I guess that's the end of me then." Noah said, shrugging.
Cody raised an eyebrow, rolling his eyes at the bookworm, "Really? You're not worried about that?"
"Look at me, I'm a bookworm. I'm bad with psychic challenges, even a simple pebble would break my spine."
"Your performance in The Ridonculous Race tells me otherwise, mate." Cody thought, remembering how he saw Noah put a lot of effort into physical challenges.
He thought it was kind of funny that the only thing that made Noah look so miserable was when Emma had rejected him, but it's understandable.
I mean, when a person rejects you, you're always going to feel a strong sadness about it.
"Hey, get out of that mindset and think positive, I'm sure you'll come up with something to stay here longer." Cody said.
"Oh yeah? And what would you suggest I do, Mr. Think Positive?" Noah questioned with a bored tone, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, why don't you apply your brainpower to physical challenges?" The geek replied.
Noah was going to answer, but he kept thinking about it. "Interesting, using brains against brawn, kind of funny in my opinion."
"You just need to look for the hidden details in each challenge, just like in video games." Cody said, smiling a little.
"Heh...I like the way you think, dude." Noah said with a deadpan tone, but smiling at the geek.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"Not bad, now I suspect Cody isn't just the geek trying to be popular. I feel like he knows more than he seems to, but it's probably just a false alarm." Noah said.
The homeschool boy was going to continue talking to the athlete and the farm girl, but turned his gaze to the bimbo blonde, who was trying to stand on her head.
"What are you doing, eh?" Ezekiel asked, drawing the attention of his teammates.
"I'm trying to get all the blood rushing to my head." Lindsay said, trying to stay upside down, "I think it's working!"
Beth approached the bimbo blonde, looking interested, "Can I try?" She asked.
"Sure!" Lindsay replied calmly.
"Umm...I don't think that's a good idea, I've heard that doing that causes one to lose consciousness." Trent said, looking a little worried at the bimbo blonde.
"Don't forget about the headaches." Noah added, looking boredly at Lindsay.
"Trust me, the headaches I'll be getting are more horrible than those." Cody thought, rolling his eyes.
"Really? Wow, then I better stop doing this." Lindsay said, before trying to move from that position, though it only caused her to fall backwards onto the ground.
"Ouchie..." She said in a pained tone, while Beth helped her up.
Heather looked at Beth and Lindsay, at the same time beginning to form a sinister smile on her face.
"Perfect~" Heather thought mischievously, already choosing who would be part of her alliance, or rather, her trap.
"Lindsay, Beth, can I talk to you two for a second?" the queen bee asked.
"Sure!" Lindsay said in a calm tone, while the farm girl gave the queen bee a smile.
Both girls walked over to Heather, who led them to a secluded part of the bonfire and equipment.
"So, I have a plan to take me and two other people to the final 3, and I picked you guys!" Heather said, giving a smile.
"Really?" Beth asked in a surprised tone.
"This is going to be great, we're going to make it to the final 3!" Lindsay said, smiling with excitement.
Beth smiled happily as well, walking up to the queen bee and hugging her tightly, though all it caused was to quickly annoy Heather and forcing her to interrupt that.
"You must know that this is something very important. I am placing my trust in you. And trust is a two-way street." Heather said, causing Lindsay and Beth to nod.
"So you'll do everything I tell you to do?" Heather asked, hoping to make sure the farm girl and the bimbo blonde were with her.
"Don't worry, you can count on it!" Beth replied, nodding in affirmation.
"Sure!" Lindsay said cheerfully.

"Oh, my gosh! Heather is taking me to the final three! I'm going to the final three! I wonder what will happen then." Beth said.
Without them noticing, the geek was watching with a raised eyebrow as Heather had been talking to Lindsay and Beth in a more discreet area of the campfire.
"Well, it looks like Heather's alliance with Lindsay and Beth happened normally. I don't know if I could avoid that because Heather manipulated them so much this season, but it's best not to risk it."
Although Cody didn't expect Lindsay to walk away from Heather after the alliance was formed, he watched where she was walking...realizing she was heading towards where Trent and Gwen were.
The geek was a little confused, she was supposed to stay with Heather and Beht for the rest of the challenge.
"Whoohoo, Traint! Would you like to talk to me?" Lindsay said with a cheerful tone, giving the guitarist a smile.
"Umm..." Trent looked back at the goth girl, noticing how she was still staring at him, "I would, but-"
"Thanks! It's fun talking to you!" Lindsay said, sitting down in the empty seat next to the guitarist, that seat was Owen's.
The guitarist opened his mouth, but only sighed with disappointment. Turning around and turning his attention to the bimbo blonde, who now had an even bigger grin on her face.
"What the hell just happened?..." Cody asked himself, watching wide-eyed as Lindsay and Trent began to talk.
Gwen just sighed at that scene, before looking around the place boredly and trying to stay awake now on her own.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"Does Lindsay like Trent?" Tyler thought, before shaking his head, "I don't think so, maybe she's nicer to him. I still have a chance with her...right?" Tyler said the last with a bit of hesitation.
Time Count - 16:30:36
"Alright campers, time for another bathroom break, anyone interested?" Chris announced.
Almost all of the campers ignored the host and continued trying to stay awake. Except for the Iron Woman, who removed the headphones from her ears.
"I'm going to the bathroom." Eva said, while getting up from her seat. She put her MP3 player in her pocket and began to follow Chef.
Cody watched as the electronic device fell out of the tough girl's pockets on the way, as it happened in the original timeline.
At the same time, Heather had seen that and walked over to where Eva's MP3 player was, starting to pretend to stretch, before picking up the electronic device and returning to her seat.
"Isn't Eva going to be really mad when she sees her MP3 player is gone?" The farmer said, trying to get Heather to return the electronic device.
"That's the plan." Heather replied, grinning wickedly. At the same time, she pocketed the MP3 player.
She thought no one would spot her, but she didn't realize that some campers on the other team were watching her on the spot.
Meanwhile on The Killer Bass team...
Courtney looked with a frown at the queen bee, "You guys saw what she did too, right?" She said, looking to her side.
"That's obvious, princess. She's not as careful as she thinks she is." Duncan said with a mocking tone.
"That's not okay. Does she even know what Eva will do to her if she finds out?" Harold said, glancing momentarily at the queen bee.
"We all know, just yesterday she threw a suitcase out the window just because Katie left her things on her bed." Bridgette replied.
"Wait a moment...Who will be the person to tell Eva about that?" Katie said, drawing the attention of her classmates.
There were a few seconds of awkward silence, before the delinquent laughed a little, confusing his teammates a bit.
"I'll do it. I'm sure Eva would like to hear that news." Duncan said, smiling a little.
"You know she's capable of sending Heather to the hospital, right?" Courtney asked, looking with a raised eyebrow at the delinquent.
Duncan shrugged, "She asked for it, princess." He said, answering CIT's question.
A few minutes passed, while Eva began to make her way back from the bathroom towards the seats where her entire team was seated.
"Heh, time to see what all the chaos is going on now." Duncan thought, while getting up from his seat and walking over to the Iron Girl.
Eve watched seriously as Duncan approached her. She folded her arms and spoke. "What do you want, delinquent?"
"Hey, relax, I just came to ask if I could borrow your MP3 player." The delinquent said, smiling mockingly.
Eva laughed a little, still looking at Duncan, "Tell me, for what reason would I borrow it?"
"Well, because you're clearly not using it right now...and you don't even have it."
Eva raised an eyebrow, before looking down at her pocket...and realizing that her music player, indeed, wasn't even there.
The iron girl immediately looked at the delinquent, "Where is it?" Eva exclaimed, looking seriously at Duncan.
"First of all, I don't have it. But I think a certain cutie over there knows something." Duncan replied, directing his gaze toward the queen bee.
Eva also turned her gaze to Heather, now knowing who had her music player, she began to crack her knuckles.
"I suppose you'll go talk to her, won't you?" Duncan asked, deciding to add fuel to the fire.
"Oh, I'll do more than just talk to her." Eve only said that, as she started walking towards the queen bee.
Back with The Screaming Gophers team...
"Oh god, this is bad!" Cody thought desperately, looking at how Eva was now standing in front of Heather.
"Eh, can I help you?" Heather said, looking at the iron woman, but immediately noticed the look she had in her eyes.
"Hand it over." Eva said coldly, making the queen bee flinch a little.
"Umm...what do you mean?" Heather replied nervously.
"I say it again...Hand it over." Eva claimed, her tone of voice showing she wasn't kidding.
The other campers' eyes widened in surprise when they saw the Iron woman grab Heather by the straps of her shirt. A small sound of an object hitting the ground was heard, both girls looked down and discovered what the object was that was now on the ground.
It was Eva's MP3 player.
"Poetic justice is on its way."
Heather realized why Eva was here.
"Damn, that chick is so dead."
Her plan didn't work out the way she'd hoped.
"That's not going to end well, eh."
She's messed up.
None of the campers moved from their seats, they knew Heather was asking for trouble. Besides, it's obvious that going to try to help the queen bee is like going straight down the path of pain. No one is stupid enough to try to avoid what was already a lose-lose situation...except a certain geek was.
Cody slowly approached Eva and Heather, the rest of the campers looked at him with concern or rather, a look that said 'Dude, you're f*cking crazy!'.
But it's not like he was going with any great bravado. On the contrary, he was really scared. Although in his original timeline Cody was no longer afraid to stand up to or hit back in case a fight occurred, this was a different situation. He is now young, with a body that is thin and not yet in shape.
...
In short, he is so screwed if Eva decides to use him as a punching bag instead of Heather.
However, he decided to try to stop what was the worst case scenario for Heather, she's his friend...in the future. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't try to help her.
"Man, I really didn't expect this to happen today..." Cody thought, at the same time he was already close to the two girls.
"H-Hey, girls. Maybe we should calm down a bit and talk about it first-" The geek couldn't finish speaking when Eva grabbed him by the shirt with her other hand, at the same time his sunglasses fell to the ground.
Eva stared at him, her gaze still held a great anger, "You have five seconds to say your last words, scrawny." She said.
Cody knew he still had a chance (a small but still useful one) to speak, "You see, it's true that now you look like Heather had your music player. It looks bad, I know, but...what if that has a more precise explanation?...Think about it, any of us could have stepped on that by accident and the story would be different, or worse, Chris could have kept it among the lost things?..."
The geek wished the iron woman would swallow that excuse, because now his life...well, his face is at stake. He watched as Eva still looked at him seriously, but then he saw her turn her gaze to the queen bee, now in search of answers.
"Tell me, was it really your intention to keep my MP3 player for those reasons...or just because you wanted to take it?" Eva asked, now looking at Heather.
The queen bee immediately opened her mouth, "Of course it was for that reason, I didn't want this expensive device to be destroyed by accident, it looks like it's very important to you."
Eva stared at the queen bee, who was a little nervous and hoped that the iron woman would not react badly. A few seconds of silence passed, before the iron woman released Heather and Cody to the floor, at the same time she picked up her MP3 player and turned her gaze towards the geek, who was a bit in shock.
"You're lucky you explained things well, but if I find out that's not the truth..." Eva warned, before lifting her foot and stomping hard on the geek's sunglasses.
Now those sunglasses were just more than broken pieces littering the floor, the iron girl continued, "You and I are going to have a serious conversation."
With that last said, Eva walked back towards her team, while the other campers looked at Cody and Heather with surprise, as if they were the survivors of an impossible situation to solve. Cody sighed in relief, his last minute plan worked...although it cost him his sunglasses (and possibly now being under Eva's radar) but he managed to keep Heather from getting a horrible beating.
"Dude! I can't believe you would seriously confront Eva!" Tyler said, still looking shocked at the geek.
Cody picked himself up off the ground, while he felt his head start to hurt a little, "Trust me, me neither." He said, noticing that his third pair of sunglasses had just been destroyed.
Time Count - 24:15:40
Another exhausting 12 hours later, things with the campers kept changing. Izzy was the first Killer Bass camper to fall asleep, Bridgette also fell asleep a few seconds later. In the case of the Gophers, Noah despite his best efforts couldn't stay awake any longer, joining Owen on the list of sleepy campers.
Trent listened attentively to what Lindsay was saying, he had no problem talking to her. But just as the bimbo blonde had to show up at the moment when he was talking to the gothic girl, the guitarist didn't know how to say no in a polite way to Lindsay.
"Maybe after the challenge I can still talk to Gwen." Trent thought, glancing momentarily at the goth girl.
"How are things at your school, Traint?" Lindsay asked curiously.
The guitarist looked back at the bimbo blonde, "Ehm, everything's quiet, kind of hard because of homework...ah, my name's Trent, not Traint." Trent corrected.
"Oh sorry, I'm just bad at remembering names." Lindsay said giving herself a little bump on the head. "Like in high school, it took me like a year to learn the names of my classmates."
Trent gave Lindsay a somewhat apologetic look, "I see...Sorry about that, Lindsay." He said, looking at the bimbo blonde.
"Oh relax, it's nothing serious, although I think I'll have nightmares for years if I don't manage to remember the names of the people around me." Lindsay said, fiddling a little with her fingers.
The guitarist put two fingers to his chin, even though he couldn't talk to Gwen now, he could help Lindsay learn the names of the other campers. I mean, she's his friend, and friends help each other. Plus, it's also a good way for both of them to stay awake longer.
"Better to start late than never." Trent thought, shrugging his shoulders.
"I think I can help you with that, we could start with our team names." The guitarist said, smiling a little.
"Really? Oh thanks, Traint!" Lindsay said with a cheerful tone.
"Okay, let's start with me first." Trent said, clearing his throat a little, "Ahem...My name is Trent Cooper."
Lindsay thought for a few seconds, speaking again. "Traint?..."
Trent almost fell face first into the ground, but just smiled reassuringly. "Nope, my name is Trent, Trent."
"Trent?..." Lindsay said, hesitating a little at what she was saying.
"That's right, now say it normal."
"Trent!" The bimbo blonde said excitedly, giving the guitarist a nice smile.
"Well done, Lindsay." Trent said, giving the bimbo blonde a thumbs up and smiling at her.
"Awwww, thanks Traint!" Lindsay said, before realizing she said it the wrong guitarist's name, "Oops..."
Trent started to laugh a little, obviously one can't always learn on the first lesson.
But hey, on the bright side, he still has time to teach her how to pronounce it correctly.
...
"Congratulations campers! You've made it to the first midnight wake up marathon!" Chris congratulated the remaining campers.
"I'm really sleepy, eh." Ezekiel said out of nowhere, most of the campers yawned a little as if they agreed.
"Time to kick things up a notch, who wants to listen to a boring bedtime story?" Chris said while smiling, pulling a book out of nowhere.
Meanwhile Chef, now dressed in a sheep's clothing and playing the harp, accompanied him in this sleep-inducing ruse.
"Oh, you're not serious!" Gwen said in an angry tone, trying to stay awake.
Chris cleared his throat, starting with the reading, "Once upon a time...there was within this boring kingdom...a boring village. And inside this very boring village, full of very boring children...who did very...boring things." The host said the last part quietly, causing some campers to yawn again.
"The funny thing is, that book was real, and not just some manipulation of Chris to make it boring." Cody thought, smiling a little as he remembered that tidbit of information.
Chef Hatchet began to play the harp, causing a sweet melody to begin to drift across the campfire. Tyler and Beth tried to stay awake, but a few seconds later they both fell asleep on the floor. Heather watched with blank eyes as her partner in the competition fell asleep. Harold tried to stay awake, but ended up falling backwards onto the floor, beginning to snore.
After Chris finished telling the boring story, the theme from Dance Of The Sugar Plum began to play as Chef appeared on the scene wearing a ballerina costume.
"You've got to be kidding me." Duncan thought, rolling his eyes at the camp cook.
"I still find it odd that Chef hasn't complained about wearing those costumes..." Cody thought, yawning a little.
Chef began to dance and throw glitter dust at the campers, some of whom took the dust full force and began to feel tired.
Katie struggled to stay awake, but ended up falling asleep. DJ saw that the BFF was now asleep, so he knew he had to act fast so he didn't fall as well.
He tried to tie himself to a tree to stay awake, but it proved useless as the dust landed on his face and he fell asleep, bringing the tree down with him and angering a squirrel.
"Timber." Gwen commented weakly, trying not to sleep.
"I'm surprised DJ has that much strength to take down a tree." Cody said, trying to make conversation with the goth girl.
Gwen looked at him for a moment, but spoke again. "So you're still not asleep, huh?" She asked.
"Yeah, but I don't know how much longer I can last." Cody answered honestly.
"Well, try to stay awake a little longer. We just lost two more people." Gwen said, looking to her side.
Cody looked in that direction as well, watching as Trent and Lindsay had fallen asleep, the bimbo blonde resting her head on his shoulder.
"After seeing that...I don't know how to feel about it..."
Time Count - 51:18:40
Several hours later, the camera moved to show the campers. Leshawna had reached her limit, she was now sleeping in her own seat. Ezekiel was trying to stay awake by reading the book Noah had brought before the challenge, but he didn't understand much of what the book was about. While with the geek, he and Gwen were talking about some things in their lives. The geek, seeing that his guitarist friend had fallen asleep, decided to take his place to help the gothic girl stay awake and win the challenge like in the original timeline.
But it's a difficult thing to do when his young body works against him.
He really wants a cup of coffee right now.
"Okay, any hobbies you do a lot?" Gwen asked.
"Uhhh, well...I usually play pool or cards with my friends." Cody replied, scratching his head a little.
"Wow, I didn't think you liked those kinds of hobbies." Gwen said, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, let's just say I learned from the best. Next question, do you have a favorite colour?" Cody asked.
"Um...Midnight blue." Gwen replied.
"It's a nice color, some say it gives off a mysterious vibe." Cody said, before he yawned a little again.
"Hey, don't fall asleep fast. It's my turn to ask, where did you get that jacket from?"
"Oh, this jacket is a birthday present from my parents, along with the scarf." Cody said proudly, while smiling.
"That's cool, although it's kind of weird that someone who isn't the typical popular kid is wearing that."
"Heh, it's so obvious that I don't look like a popular guy, isn't it?"
"Yeah, I'd say you're the typical geek guy who tries to act cool in front of others." Gwen said, teasing the geek a little.
Cody faked being offended, but started to laugh a little at the goth girl's comment.
He had once loved Gwen, had hoped that she would be his girlfriend. However, after what happened on World Tour when she got together with Duncan, plus the fact that she only started acting 'nicer' to him just to secure his vote against Courtney, the feelings he had for her slowly began to fade to nothing.
But it's not like he's the innocent in the situation either, the actions the geek did during Island didn't help score points with her. I mean, did he really take food in his trousers with the intention of having a picnic on a boat with her? That's something Cody really wishes he'd never do again in his life, his classmates kept bugging him about it for the rest of high school.
For anyone curious about how he was bullied, his classmates threw loaves of bread at him in mockery because of that act.
Anyway, back on topic with Gwen. After All Stars ended, Cody and Gwen got back in touch, she was looking to patch things up with her friends, including him. Although she apologized a bit for her performance on World Tour, the friendship the geek had with her was no longer the same as before, sometimes it became awkward to continue the conversation when they touched on some of the events that happened on All Stars, World Tour, Action or Island in general.
"Hopefully, I'll try to keep you and Trent together, Gwen. That's a promise." Cody thought with determination.
Though that didn't last long when he noticed Owen sleepwalking in front of them...without his usual clothes.
Both teens slowly glanced over to where the chubby boy's clothes were strewn about, then looked back at Owen and noticed how he disappeared into the woods.
"Now that's going to cause nightmares..." Cody said awkwardly, the goth nodded while shivering a little.
The geek and the goth decided to keep talking, until they stopped to look from afar at the model who was still standing erect in a pose.
"Look at him, he's been standing like a statue this whole time." Gwen said, still looking curiously at Justin.
"I wonder how he manages to keep his eyes open since the challenge started." Cody said, smirking.
"Hey, any of you guys know what this book called 'Robinson Crusoe' is about, eh?"
"I'll explain later."
Meanwhile on the Killer Bass team...
"I don't know how much longer I can stay awake. What do you guys think?" Geoff said, yawning a little.
"Meh, I'm all right, I guess." Duncan replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"I'm sleepy, but I'm not ready to fall over yet." Eva replied.
Courtney looked around boredly at her surroundings, noticing how the geek and the goth girl were talking to each other.
"Huh, I wonder what those two are talking about." The CIT thought curiously, yawning a little.
She glanced to her side, noting various members of her team sleeping in their seats or on the floor, though a certain model caught her eye.
"You know, it's strange that Justin is showing the least signs of fatigue." Courtney said, looking at the model curiously.
"Hmm, how come he hasn't moved at all?" Eva said suspiciously, drawing the attention of the others.
"That's right, I feel like something doesn't seem right, bro." Geoff said, also looking at the model.
Duncan looked suspiciously at the model, before an imaginary bright spotlight came on over his head.
"I think there's a way to see if our suspicions are right." Duncan said with a mischievous grin, rising from his seat.
"What do you plan to do?" Courtney asked, raising an eyebrow as she watched the felon approach the model.
Duncan put next to Justin, while feigning a fake cough, "Ahem...Hey, maybe you shouldn't move too much...you've got a spider walking across your face."
As if on instinct, the model's eyes widened in surprise, immediately touching his face and desperately searching for the supposed "arachnid".
"AHH! TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT OFF! I DON'T WANT MY BEAUTIFUL FACE DAMAGED!" Justin screamed in fear, but stopped when he looked at the delinquent who had a smirk on his face.
Duncan wasn't the only one who saw that, the remaining campers who were awake looked with surprise and anger at the model who was now in shock.
"So you had your eyelids painted on? That's cheating, pretty boy!" Eva exclaimed angrily, pointing her finger at Justin.
"Really?" Chris replied, smirking. "Now this I have to see."
The presenter walked over to Justin and looked at the eyes he had painted on his eyelids to make it look like he was awake.
All the model could do was give Chris a nervous smile, hoping they'd let him pass on this little ruse.
"Dude, that's unbelievably awesome! But it also means you're out."
Justin frowned in disappointment, but simply shrugged and walked towards an empty seat.
"What's wrong with you? Your trick could have disqualified us all!" Courtney said, scolding the model.
"Sorry, but I really needed my beauty sleep." Justin replied, crossing his arms.
Eva and Courtney both looked seriously at the model, who now smirked back at the two girls' stares.
Duncan chuckled a little at the model's misfortune, at least he got to kill some time by scaring him with the old spider-in-the-face trick.
Back to the Screaming Gophers team...
"Looks like someone's in trouble." Gwen said with a mocking tone.
Cody nodded, he finds it funny that even though Justin is on the other team, he ended up getting caught cheating.
He remembers when Justin told him about that trick he did, originally the model planned to try to stay awake fairly, but changed his mind when he realized that staying awake too many hours would hurt his face. So he opted to use that ruse, which didn't end well when Gwen and Trent discovered the charade and informed the host. At least he got his beauty sleep, that's all that mattered at the time.
"Really, Justin. You're a great guy to talk to, but sometimes you're kind of narcissistic about your face."
Without Cody noticing, the queen bee was staring at him while he conversed with the goth girl.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"Maybe that twerp saved me from getting punched in the face, but that doesn't mean I won't be watching him." Heather said earnestly, keeping her arms crossed.
Time Count - 85:10:21
Time continued to tick on until it was morning once again, so far the only campers still awake were: Cody, Ezekiel, Gwen, Heather, Courtney, Duncan, Eva and Geoff.
PLUM!
Well, forget that last one. Geoff had just fallen to the ground and was now resting after enduring several hours without sleep.
The delinquent placed Harold's hand in a basin of warm water, trying to kill time. He began to smile while watching Harold slowly soiling himself in his sleep, he had proved the old myth to be true.
"Oh, gross, it worked! Dude peed his pants!" Duncan said while laughing, startling Harold awake.
Harold woke up and immediately covered his crotch with wide eyes while all the other sleeping campers woke up.
The remaining seven campers were still trying to stay awake; Heather, Ezekiel, Cody and Gwen were staring at the opposing team members, Courtney, Duncan and Eva were doing the same.
"What's wrong with you guys, go to sleep already!" Chris took a sip of his drink, before making a disgusted face.
"These interns were wrong about my order, I said I wanted a hot coffee, not an iced chocolate! Now what do I do with this?" Chris thought angrily, before an invisible light bulb flashed in his head.
At the same time, a mischievous grin passed across the sadistic host's face, along with it a new obstacle for the campers who were still awake.
"Hey, campers! Think fast!" The host said, before tossing the cup containing the iced chocolate into the air.
All the remaining campers immediately covered their faces with their hands, hoping the drink wouldn't land on him.
Splash!
Cody slowly lowered his hands, his eyes widening slightly and noticing that the drink hadn't landed on him.
He looked to his side, noticing the queen bee sighing with relief that she didn't have any chocolate ice cream in her hair.
Courtney, Duncan and Eva also lowered their hands, before looking in shock at a camper from the other team.
"Looks like we got a little lucky, don't you guys think?..." Cody asked, then looked to his other side.
His eyes widened in surprise and horror as he saw the next scene.
The homeschool boy had the cup with the drink on top of his head while cold chocolate covered his beanie and face, his eyes twinkling in surprise.
"Zeke! Are you okay?" Cody asked worriedly, waiting for a response from Ezekiel.
But all he watched was Ezekiel fall backwards out of his seat, already unconscious while he let exhaustion catch up with him.
The rest of the campers who lost the challenge looked on in surprise at the incident caused by the host, all turning their gazes towards him.
Chris chuckled a little, before making an announcement, "Alright, you six stay with me. The rest of you, go take a shower. You stink."
Harold was the first to get up eagerly and ran for the showers. The other campers followed close behind, except for Trent and Tyler who stayed behind to help Ezekiel.
Chris turned to the awake contestants and frowned. "Well, guys...I didn't want it to come to this. I even told Chef last night, 'Chef, I didn't want to do this,' but here we are, it's time for the most sleep-inducing thing. This is... 'The Story of Canada'. Let's talk about chapter 1. The beaver." The host said dramatically, while pulling out a huge history book.
Confessional Cam - C.C
"You must be kidding me..." Eva said before looking at the camera, "You know what, bring it on! I can handle it!"
After three long and boring chapters on the story of Canada; Eva, Courtney and Heather had given in to sleep, leaving the delinquent as the only Bass camper to be awake.
The geek was looking pretty tired, and even worse as the bags under his eyes had become more noticeable.
"Well, I think it's time for me to rest now, I'm sure Gwen can make it."
Cody slowly began to close his eyes, intending to sleep after being awake for several hours.
PLUM!
His eyes opened again when they heard someone collapse on the floor.
Cody thought maybe Duncan had fallen asleep early, but his surprise was different when he looked to his side.
It was the goth girl who had fallen asleep, beginning to sleep peacefully after a long time.
The geek looked on in shock and horror, he had been careless for a moment and now Gwen was asleep.
"Well, it looks like we now have 1 person left on each team. Duncan for the Basses and Cody for the Gophers. Who will win?"
"This can't be happening...Gwen was supposed to stay awake." Cody thought, now trying to stay awake.
After a lot of changes that happened on this day, he wasn't going to give up now.
But saying it was easy, doing it was the hard part.
His body felt heavy, his eyes felt like they were going to close at any moment.
And to make matters worse, a pounding headache was starting to nag him because Gwen had fallen asleep earlier.
...
In short, it's only a matter of time before he goes down too.
Chris decided to make another announcement, "Alright, bathroom break, anyone interested?"
"I've put up with it for so long, shorty, I can go all day." Duncan said confidently, though he was trying to resist the urge to go to the bathroom.
Cody smiled a little, knowing what he should say now, "Yeah, but can you hold it in for another 10 chapters, punk?"
Duncan thought for a moment, momentarily glancing at the host, who still had that book in his hands, "All right. I'll go...anyway, it's obvious you can't stay awake any longer."
"You've got ten minutes...as long as you don't mind a little company." Chris smiled.
Duncan looked at the cameraman with a raised eyebrow, "Okay, but stay out of the cubicle."
The cameraman nodded and the two made their way towards the bathroom.
Cody looked vaguely at the delinquent who was slowly walking away from the scene.
He hopes to hold out until a certain scene with Duncan occurs.
He just has to hold on for a few minutes and-
PLUM!
Cody watched with rolling eyes as the delinquent fell to the ground at the shocked look on the cameraman's face.
"Huh...looks like Duncan couldn't hold on any longer than the original timeline."
There was a few seconds of awkward silence, before the laughter of a certain host interrupted that silence.
"Oh man, that's going to hurt later! Now that Duncan fell asleep before going to the bathroom, it means the official winner of the Awake-a-thon is...Cody and the Screaming Gophers!"
The Gophers team heard that they won the challenge and begin to weakly celebrate, this was the second time they had beaten the challenges of the day.
PLUM!
A sleepy Cody fell face first to the ground, he didn't even let out a groan of pain from the fall, all he cares about now is sleep.
After enduring a few headaches + being awake for several hours...
He really needs a good nap.
Duncan was sitting on the steps of the cabin, thinking about what happened to him two hours ago.
He was walking past the cameraman to go to the bathroom, he felt he was going to win this challenge because the geek looked like he was going to collapse at any moment. But no sooner had he walked a few steps than blurry images flashed across his eyes. He strained to see one of the images, only managing to see that he was...inside a patrol car...
After looking at that image, he felt his eyes close and everything went dark. Which meant that he had fallen asleep, and made his team lose.
"Maybe those images are some stupid hallucination caused by lack of sleep..." Duncan thought, finding that thought to be the only explanation for it.
The delinquent looked straight ahead, noticing Courtney approaching him, he decided to leave that subject for later and see what the CIT was after.
"Hey, what brings you here, princess?" Duncan asked, giving a smirk towards Courtney.
The CIT snorted, still not used to being called that by the delinquent, "I just came to tell you that the others are still looking for a nominee to go home."
"So? And why exactly are they asking me about that?" Duncan questioned, raising an eyebrow.
Courtney folded her arms, still staring at the delinquent, "I heard you were the one who suggested we take out Sadie." She replied.
Duncan shook his head slowly, of course the other campers on his team were going to mention that detail to the princess.
But it didn't bother him, he'd find it amusing to see Courtney try to guess why he saved her from going home first.
"All right, you got me, your highness." Duncan said with a mocking tone, still smiling.
Courtney was quiet for a few seconds, before sighing, "Look, I don't know why you decided to save me from going home yesterday...but thank you." She said, smiling a little.
"Sorry, I guess I didn't quite hear what you said." Duncan said, pretending that he didn't hear CIT's pleasantness.
"Oh, don't start with that, ogre!" Courtney yelled, causing the delinquent to start laughing.
Duncan really enjoys seeing how angry the princess is.
She has a strong temper.
She doesn't let what happened yesterday get to her.
She stays strong and determined.
And that likes the delinquent.
Duncan opened his mouth to speak again, but he noticed the iron woman approaching him and the princess, her gaze still serious.
"Huh, now what is it she's looking for." Duncan thought, noting that Eve was already close to him and Courtney.
"Duncan, Courtney, can I talk to you for a minute?" Eva asked, surprisingly with a calm tone.
Duncan raised an eyebrow, but nodded. "Sure, what's up?" He asked.
"What's up is elimination, since a certain delinquent didn't win the challenge, it's obvious we're going to rule someone out tonight." Eva replied.
"Hey, it's not my fault I couldn't stay awake any longer." Duncan clarified.
"I know, I'm not the one to bother you about it either." The iron woman said, still remembering how she ended up falling asleep because of a story about Canada.
Eva continued, "Anyway, I came to inform you that we already have one person I think we could turn down tonight." She explained.
"Really? Tell me, who would be the nominee for tonight?" Courtney asked with interest.
"Let's say a certain cheater is the first choice..." Eva said, crossing her arms.
Duncan raised an eyebrow, then began to smile a little.
He knew who the Iron woman was referring to.
Chris smiled at the 10 teenagers in front of him, with marshmallows on the tray. "Welcome back to the bonfire ceremony! Did you miss your favourite host?"
The Killers Bass team rolled their eyes at the host, it was obvious that none of them wanted to be at the bonfire ceremony again.
"Anyway, you guys know the procedure. Duncan, I think it goes without saying that you've earned the first marshmallow, how was the fall?" Chris said, smirking mockingly at the delinquent.
Duncan just rolled his eyes, grabbed his marshmallow and returned to his seat without saying a word.
Chris cleared his throat, "Also safe: Bridgette, Geoff, Izzy, Eva, DJ, Katie, Courtney..." He tossed each of the aforementioned his marshmallow, minus two campers.
Harold began to get nervous, knowing he was at risk of being expelled. While Justin relaxed a little, though he was also a little nervous.
"Harold and Justin, this is the last marshmallow of the night. Whoever gets it is safe, while the other will have to say goodbye..."
The model was calm, there was no way his team would vote him out and save the Dweeb.
He is the most handsome, the most attractive, the strongest...even if he doesn't look it.
"Now, the last marshmallow of the night is also leaving..."

"Harold." Chris said, tossing the last marshmallow towards Harold, who began to sigh in relief.
"What?!" Justin asked in disbelief, looking at his former team, "You guys rejected me! Why?!"
Confessional Cam - C.C
"I admit, maybe Justin caught my eye when he showed up. But if there's one thing I don't like, it's cheaters." Eva said, crossing her arms while looking into the camera.
Static
"I thought about voting for Harold, but Justin could have cost us the challenge because of that trick he pulled." Courtney said.
Static
"I'm a little disappointed in Justin, my mama always told me that cheating is wrong." DJ said, looking into the camera.
Static
"I've seen him look in the mirror several times in a row, it's obvious he would prioritize his face first over the competition." Duncan said, crossing his arms.
Justin walked down the dock of shame, followed by Chris who was still smiling. The model boarded the Loser Boat and soon began to walk away from the island, his face reflecting a bit of sadness.
Oh well, that didn't last long as he looked back at himself in the mirror. Beginning to smile and ignoring the fact that he was eliminated from the competition.
...
The rest of the Killer Bass began to rise from their seats, preparing to head to their respective cabins.
But CIT stopped them, drawing the attention of some of their teammates.
"Listen, I know we've been defeated twice. But I assure you...no, I promise we will NOT be here next time!" Courtney clarified, her voice had a tone of determination in it.
Her teammates slowly began to smile, while nodding in agreement.
"Let's go for the victory, Killer Bass!" The campers of that team shouted, raising their fists in the air.
Maybe all was not lost for them.
And trust me, it's not.
Meanwhile at the Dock of Shame...
"And so the Killer Bass sent another one of their own to sleep with the fishes, you follow me?" The host asked Chef, with a smirk.
Chef Hatchet just shook his head while walking away from the spot, "Oh please! That was a good one, man..." Chris said, frowning.
"Ahem...Anyway, can the Killer Bass get over their losing streak or are the Screaming Gophers invincible?"
"How will Heather fare with her alliance with Lindsay and Beth? Does Cody have any other spare sunglasses? Will Eva find out the truth about her music player? Will we send someone out to find Owen?...Probably not, it's too late at night and my unpaid interns only work in the day and evening."
"All this and more on the next episode of: TOTAL. DRAMA. ISLAND!" Chris shouted, stretching his arms in the air.
"WOULD YOU SHUT THE F*CK UP!? WE WANT TO SLEEP, MCLEAN!" An angry voice was heard from one of the cabins, not sure who it belonged to.
"Geez..." Chris complained, before he started to walk away from the place.
Well, let me explain a few things:
Cody had no plans for this challenge, since he was confident that everything would happen as it originally happened, but we saw that it didn't.
About Eva staying in the competition, since Ezekiel didn't say those sexist comments (and he isn't even in the Killer Bass), she is still considered to be useful to the team because she wasn't too angry about it. Which led to her teammates...actually, just Duncan going to tell her about the stolen MP3 player. In the end, she stays in the competition longer...for now.
Now let's talk about Justin, I know some will be disappointed that he's leaving early, but fair enough. He made a risky move when he pretended to be awake at the challenge, but in the original timeline he was let off that incident due to his team (Screaming Gophers) winning the challenge. But in this timeline, since Eva didn't make her classic angry scene about his MP3 player and he's on a different team that doesn't usually tolerate some silly or risky moves, Justin's fate was sealed even though his beauty caught the attention of some of the female campers.
...
Cody managed to get along a little well with Courtney and Gwen, which is good for him if he wants to befriend them in a more relaxed way. Although he's now under Heather and Eva's radar, but the first one is less threatening than the other, the geek better come up with a plan to avoid Eva hitting him when she finds out the real reason why Heather grabbed the music player.
At the same time, Trent made his classic move and now has Gwen's attention, but he doesn't realize that Lindsay has noticed him too. Is there something else this boy doesn't know how to do well?
Duncan is just starting to embark on a search for the truth now that he's seen some images he doesn't know.
Can any of you guys guess what the incident with Ezekiel over the cup of iced chocolate refers to? :)
...
Oh, right. I'll try to make the chapters a bit longer, you know, to increase the dialogues between the campers (You can leave your opinion about this, I'd really appreciate it).
Anyway, thanks for watching this, tell me if you like it and tell me if you don't! Comments are always welcome, my folks.
Without anything else to say, see you in the next chapter!
(Maybe in the next chapter I'll be answering the comments, but watch out, I said maybe).
