Author's note.
Ruby won her first gym battle. Now, it's time to continue with the story. And whoever's played the Black and White games should know what comes next. But, remember how in 'Black and White', Ash was followed by a Sandile/Krokorok? Well, Ruby's gonna have her own Pokemon follow her. But, this one will be more, sneaky, shall we say. I also hoped you had a very great Christmas (or which ever winter holiday you celebrate) and I hope you have a happy New Year too. Also also, aside from Alola, which Region would you like to see Ruby in next?;

Chapter 8
A Yard of Dreams

Ruby POV.
I did it, I won my first gym badge. That's one down, seven more to go. I owe it all to my Pokemon. Oshawott, Pansear, Patrat, you guys rock. Now, where to go next. Well, I gotta heal my Pokemon first.

Ruby walked into the Pokemon centre and walked towards the counter. There, she saw Nurse joy. But, this one was had a different coloured cross on her hat.
"Hello again" said Ruby. Nurse Joy looked confused.
"Uh, do I know you?" Asked Nurse Joy.
"Yeah", answered Ruby. "We met in Accumula Town".
"Oh, you must be thinking of my younger sister" said Nurse Joy.
"Sister?" Asked Ruby.
"Yeah, see", said Nurse Joy holding up a photo. "She's the Accumula town nurse, and that's me". Ruby was shocked at how much they looked a like.
"Oh, uh, well, could I please have my Pokemon healed please?" Asked Ruby handing her her Pokeballs.
"Sure, I'll take care of them" said Nurse Joy.
While she waited, Ruby decided to head off to the Pokemart; a place where trainers can by things.
"I'd like these potions and these Pokeballs, please" said Ruby handing the cashier the money.
"Why certainly" the cashier responded, accepting the money. Ruby then placed them in her bag.
Ruby sat down, and looked at her badge.
"I, I won this", she said to herself. "I won this badge. Now, that only leaves seven more to go".
"Ruby Gillman, your Pokemon are ready for pick up". Ruby then collected her Pokeballs. She said her thank you's and walked out of the Pokemon Centre.
"Uh, excuse me". Ruby looked to see a young woman with long dark-blue hair, wore a lab coat and pink glasses.
"Oh, uh, hi there" said Ruby.
"My name's Dr. Fennel", the woman replied. "I specialise in dream research".
"Dream research?" Asked Ruby.
"Yes", said Dr. Fennel. "I research them in order to hopefully learn of better ways for people and Pokemon to understand each other".
"Research through dreams?", wondered Ruby. "Huh, I heard weirder".
"Also, are one of the three trainers that Professor Juniper gave a Pokedex to?" Asked Dr. Fennel.
"Yeah, I was given one of the Pokedexes" answered Ruby.
"I knew it", said Dr, Fennel excitedly. "You have that flare that my old friend looks for in ALL of her trainers".
"You know Professor Juniper?" Asked Ruby.
"Oh yes, she and I were in school together", answered Dr. Fennel. "From kindergarten all the way to college".
"So, she's your friend?" Asked Ruby.
"Indeed", answered Dr. Fennel. "If you would kindly follow me". Ruby cocked an eyebrow at this, wondering what she could want. She was eventually shown Dr. Fennel's house.
"Please, come inside" said Dr. Fennel opening the front door. Ruby walked inside and was lead towards another door. When that one opened up, she saw that she was in a lab.
"Whoa, cool lab" said Ruby in wonderment.
"Thanks", said Dr. Fennel. "This is my dream research lab".
"Dream Research Lab?" Asked Ruby, confused by this.
"I specialise in the research of dreams and other mysterious powers", answered Dr. Fennel. "Which so many Pokemon possess".
"Mysterious powers?" Asked Ruby.
"Even I don't know the answer to that" answered Dr. Fennel with a chuckle. She then handed Ruby a Jar.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" Asked Ruby.
"In the dreamyard, there is a Pokemon called Munna", answered Dr. Fennel. "It has the power to produce a special dream mist that allows someone's dreams to be seen".
"That's, that's kinda cool" said Ruby.
"Well, yes, I uh, guess it is, kinda cool", said Dr. Fennel. "So, can you do it?".
"Sure, I'll give it a try" said Ruby.
"The Dreamyard is not to far from hear, you should be able to see it" said Dr. Fennel. Ruby then left the house. She then saw what looked like the broken remains of a building from above the trees.
"Oh, guess that's it" said Ruby. She ran towards the forest and after about 10 minutes, she found the Dreamyard. It's ruined husk towered over her like the shadow from a bad dream.
"Well, this looks to be the place" said Ruby.
"Look out look out look out look out look out!". Something then smacked into Ruby, sending her to the floor.
"Ugh, what hit me?" Groaned Ruby. Ruby looked to see that it was Bianca that hit her.
"Watch where you're going Bianca" said Ruby as she got up.
"I'm so sorry", apologised Bianca. "I saw you coming this way so I followed you".
"I just hope you running into me doesn't become a running gag" groaned Ruby. She then walked into the Dreamyard.
"Ruby?", asked Bianca. "Ruby, wait for me!" She then ran in after her.
"I hope Munna's in here", said Ruby. "If it isn't then I-".
"Muuuuu".
"Where did that come from?" Asked Ruby. She then saw something come out from the shadows. It was a small pink creature with Stubby legs, violet eyes and was decorated with flowers.
"Is that it?" Ruby wondered. She then took out her Pokedex.
Munna
The Dream Eater Pokemon
Munna eats the dreams of people and pokemon, when it tastes a dream that it likes, it produces a pink mist.
Ruby then put her Pokedex away.
"Well, that was easy" said Ruby.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!". Ruby then saw that two people exited from the shadows. One male one female, both were wearing white and baby blue outfits with what looked like a two-tone shield with a 'P' overlayed on top of a 'Z'.
"Um, who are you?" Asked Ruby.
"We, are Team Plasma" answered the Male.
"We are here to liberate Pokemon from humans like you" continued the female.
"Okay, there is a comparison I could make, but I won't", said Ruby. "So, get lost".
"Perhaps it is you who shall get lost" said the female as she and the male pulled out Pokeballs. They then tossed them and a Patrat and a Purrloin came out.
"You ready for this Bianca?" Asked Ruby taking out a Pokeball.
"With you all the way" answered Bianca taking out a Pokeball.
"Oshawott! Prepare for battle!" Shouted Ruby tossing her Pokeball.
"Lillipup! Go!" Shouted Bianca tossing her Pokeball. Both opened up, Ruby's revealing Oshawott and Bianca's revealed a small puppy Pokemon with two-tone brown fur with a patch of blue on the back.
"Pup pup pup".
"Is that her new Pokemon?" Wondered Ruby. She then took out her Pokedex.
Lillipup
The Puppy Pokemon
This Pokemon is quite intelligent, know when to run from a battle if an opponent is too strong.
Ruby the put her Pokedex away.
"Oshawott, use Water Pulse!" Shouted Ruby.
"Lillipup, use tackle!" Shouted Bianca. Oshawott then gathered an orb of water and fired it off. The orb then hit Purrloin. Lillipup then tackled Patrat. Both of Team Plasma's Pokemon were soon knocked out. Both grunts returned their Pokemon to their Pokeballs.
"We lost" said the female.
"Not yet" said the male. Much to Ruby and Bianca's shock, the Team Plasma grunts started to kick Munna.
"Come on, make the mist!" Shouted the male.
"Stop that!" Shouted Ruby. She was about to run towards them when they heard the sound of growling.
"What was that?" Asked Bianca.
"Run!" Shouted the female. The two grunts then ran off.
"Well, that was, easy" said Ruby. She ran over to Munna.
"You okay?" Asked Ruby.
"Muuunnaaa" Munna moaned in response.
"Here, this'll work" said Ruby taking out a potion bottle. She then sprayed it on Munna's wounds. They soon faded into nothing.
"You feeling better?" Asked Ruby.
"Mu muunna!" It cheered happily.
"Mushar".
"What was that?" Asked Bianca. Another Pokemon emerged from the shadows. This time it was like a dark-purple and pink tapeer in a similar style to Munna.
"Who's that Pokemon?" Wondered Ruby. She then took out her Pokedex.
Musharna
The Drowsing Pokemon
And the evolved form of Munna.
With the mist from it's forehead, it creates shapes from the dreams it has eaten.
Ruby then put her Pokedex away.
"That must be Muuna's friend" said Bianca.
"She must be" agreed Ruby.
"Mushar Mushar" Musharna said.
"Uh, you're welcome" said Ruby. The Jar that Ruby had was now outlined in blue and it floated towards Munna's forehead. Then, it produced a pink mist into the jar, before closing the lid and handing it to Ruby.
"Thank you" said Ruby before she bet both Munna and Musharna's heads. They two then thanked her before floating away.
"Take care of yourselves!" Ruby called out.
At Dr. Fennel's lab.
Ruby had just returned and she handed Dr. Fennel the Jar.
"You got the mist" said Dr. Fennel, sound impressed.
"You are welcome" said Ruby.
"I can't thank you enough" said Dr. Fennel.
"You can thank me by telling me where the next city is" said Ruby.
"I take it you're collecting gym badges?" Asked Dr. Fennel.
"You bet I am", answered Ruby. "Already got the one from here in Striaton, so, where's the next one?".
"The next one is in Nacrene city", answered Dr. Fennel. "It's about a day's walk from here".
"Well, then", said Ruby. "Let's get crackin'". She then turned on her heels and walked away.
Later, she left the Pokemon Centre and was now heading towards the exit of Striaton city.
"Nacrene city", said Ruby. "Here I come". As she ran off, she was unaware that she was being watched by a smoke black fox with red accents and blue eyes.
