To the readers of Harry Potter gets adopted by Sun and Moon, and changes her name
As you know I've been suffering from periodic bouts of writers block. My solution previously was to read and rewrite what I have written to see if that would get some creative juices flowing. It has in some ways but in others I'm still blocked.
It doesn't help that my friend keeps coming on and off the fic at random intervals throwing off any rhythm I might form. It's not their fault, he's got an actual life, her family, xhir friends, etc. Then there's both of our ADHD to contend with. Writing can be a real war.
So I came up with a different solution. I decided that since part of the reason that I'm even posting it is that I'm terminally lonely and the interactions, as few as they may be, keep me going I might as well open up character submissions.
So… Yeah. I'm opening up character submissions. My friends doesn't have to approve of all the characters submitting. After all not all of these characters are going to be super big or important. The character's level of importance ranges from Random Mob Character to Important Supporting Character with a small possibility of reaching Main Supporting Cast. The higher the tear the more likely it is that I'll have to ask my friend. Submissions are free, and not compulsory. How would I even inforce that. But they are deeply appreciated, as are reviews and any other form of engagement.
Characters submitted can have a variety of positions in the story, purposes, and traits. The rest of the chapter are the rules that characters will follow. Each character 'position type' has it's own character sheet that needs to be filled out. The more thorough you fill it out the more likely the character will reach a higher tear of character importance.
Rules and Roles:
Alright Readers here's where we get into the nitty gritty of the new writing order.
Another reason that I'm doing this is that I want the world to feel more full and lived in, and what better way of doing that then to put reader characters in.
Notes: Characters Submitted and used will be listed at the top of the chapter stating who submitted them. (The level of importance the character has achieved may also be listed but it'll be a part of the submission form on whether you want it listed or not.)
Notes: Characters are more likely to reach a higher tier of story importance the more details are filled in on the character sheet. The more information I have the more I can picture the character and the better I picture them the more chance I have to fall in love with them. The more I love them the more I'm likely to want to keep writing about them
Notes: There will be a different form depending on what you want the character's Character Position Types to be.
Notes: Random Mob is both a Tier and a Position
Notes: Position is similar to employment position. It means it is the character's job title in the story. Tier is the importance that Character has to the overall Plot and Story.
Notes: I'm using Plot and Story to mean two different things in this case. Story is the characters acting on the world. Plot is the world acting on the characters. So to speak. Plot can also be things that are guaranteed to happen because of Canon as that's part of the world. Like Harriette will go to Hogwarts because Harry went Hogwarts.
Notes: If you want to make a character that fills the Position of Random Mob rather than tier you will need to choose a reason they were noticed by a main character. This may involve an Emotional reason for the specific character. Or it may be that their is something unique about their appearance, or that they are doing something that is either weird/noteworthy/heartwarming/suspicious (etc). The benefit to these characters is that they don't have to be plot relevant, so they're not limited by the plot. They can be anyone, anything, doing whatever you want, going wherever you want them to go from wherever you want them to be from. You want to be part of the story even if it's only in the background, go nuts. Want a character from an obscure tv show, go ham. No limits, no bars, no rules, just creativity.
Notes: You may add personality to any of the characters you create. Even if that field is not specified.
Have Fun!
Character Importance Tears: From least to most importance to the story
Random Mob - A character that will only appear once and then disappear. These people will be often be Partons of an establishment or shop (usually the pizzaplex). They may also be to fill in the ranks of various organizations. These characters may not even be names depending on position. Often times may just be in the baground only noticed by various characters. This may or may not sound that appealing to you, but coming up with random people to fill in the backdrop of a scene can be Entertaining sometimes.
Characters Currently filling this role: The Mother and Son pair, the kids that Percy only mentioned in chapter two.
Mob Character - A character that will only appear once to irregularly depending on Character Position type. Position will also determine how much information is granted of this character. Most often limited to Name, age, appearance, and allergy if Daycare Attendee.
Important Mob - Character that will appear more than once but irregularly. They exist to fill the space allowing it to feel more lived in. Character traits will appear, more detailed descriptions may be given, and other things depending on position. May interact with the Main Cast.
Side Character - Appears somewhat regularly, often on a specific schedule. Has more details given about them and their lives. Appearances may be more unique/detailed. Skills, job title, hobbies and other things might be mentioned.
Characters Currently filling this role: Daycare regulars that are not mentioned in another category

Characters Currently filling this role: Daniella, Matty, Katie
Supporting Cast - Plot importance guaranteed, regular appearance, details about them/life will come up. Their appearance is definitely given in more detail. Their full name is more likely to be given. They do plot stuff, as well as get dragged into plot stuff.
Characters Currently filling this role: Most of the Weasleys
Important Supporting Cast - Increased importance, more story relevance, plot relevance. Guaranteed mention of name and other details. They appear often, and can be mentioned when not present. (From this tier onward it will need to be discussed with the other writer)
Characters Currently filling this role: Percy
Main Supporting Cast - These characters fill the role of supporting a character labeled Main Cast. These characters hold a vital role in the story. Fill a main function, and act as emotional support to and a Main Cast member. Their characters are extremely detailed, as are their appearance. They are often present or at least mentioned.
Characters Currently filling this role: Emelia Dudley, Nova, Bram, Aspen
