Mario, Sonic and their friends, guided by the Rangers, are about to reach the summit. Thanks to the shortcut, they were able to go much faster. With only a few meters to go, two small figures come running towards them. Omochao and Toad approach the group, both relieved and panicked.
- Omochao: There you are! How reassuring!
- Toad: The chalet has disappeared under a big snowfall! We thought you were trapped inside! What a relief!
- Mario: Wait! Luigi and Shadow are inside! We've got to save them!
- Omochao: Oh, really? In that case, there's no time to lose! We'll help you!
Immediately, the whole gang sets off again. It's not long before they arrive in front of the huge snow flow. The chalet is right under their feet.
- Peach: I can't believe they're right under us...how frustrating!
- Silver: So...how do we get them out?
- Maxwell: That's a tricky one. We have to watch out for the snow, which could completely engulf and suffocate them.
- Mario: Luigi...
Mario tries to hide his concern, but to no avail. Sonic puts his hand on his shoulder and smiles.
- Sonic: Don't worry, Mario. We'll get him out of there. We'll save them both.
While everyone's thinking of a solution, Blaze seems to have come up with an idea.
- Blaze: All we have to do is melt the snow.
- Orsown: Yes, that might work and clear the chalet, but where would we find such a heat source?
Blaze and Mario look at each other. They have the same idea.
- Mario: Get out of the way, or it'll hurt.
Immediately, everyone makes way for Mario and Blaze, who get ready.
- Blaze: Ready?
- Mario: Ready as I'll ever be!
The two team-mates take to the air. Big balls of fire form in their hands. They hurl them at the snow in perfect synchronization. The snow begins to melt and the chalet begins to appear. Mario and Blaze step aside to let the snow melt.
- Blaze: It worked!
- Mario: Pretty cool fire power after all, isn't it?
Blaze looks down with a smile. While Mario and Blaze are satisfied with their work, Tails looks worried.

While the chalet is now completely visible, the snow continues to melt. Suddenly, a landslide can be heard. The excessive melting of the snow has shattered some rocks. The chalet falls and detaches itself from the ground. It scurries away from the summit, sliding on the snow.
- Blaze: I think we went a bit too far...
- Mario: Oh no! We've got to stop him! Hurry!
- Sonic: I'm on it!
Sonic tries to run after the chalet, but the building slides so fast that snow sprays and blinds Sonic, who falls headfirst into the snow. The others run to join him.
- Knuckles: Are you all right, Sonic?
- Sonic: I'm fine, I just miscalculated...
- Peach: The chalet keeps rolling down the mountain! How are we going to stop it?!
- Silver: I can't even imagine how Shadow and Luigi must be feeling! I hope they can hold out!
- Mario: Quick! Let's go after it! Who knows where it might end up!
Immediately, everyone sets off in pursuit of the chalet, which continues its race up the mountain.
Shadow and Luigi
- Shadow: What's going on?! Why is the chalet moving?!
Inside the chalet, it's total chaos. Furniture and snow are being shaken in all directions. Shadow does what he can to hold on, while keeping Luigi, still unconscious, close to him.
- Shadow: Luigi! Wake up! WAKE UP!
Suddenly, Shadow lets go and slams headfirst into the wall. The impact is such that he loses consciousness.
Outside, the gang chase after the cottage, but the wave of snow prevents them from approaching.
- Knuckles: No way! When is it going to stop?!
- Amy: Oh no! Look straight ahead!
The whole gang is suddenly gripped by a vision of horror. The chalet is heading straight for a gigantic crevasse. But it's too late to stop the chalet from falling.
- Mario: NO!
- Peach: It can't be!
- Wario: Wait a minute...no! Not that way! NOT THAT WAY!
The chalet is about to fall into the crevasse. But to everyone's surprise, the chalet hits something and comes to a sudden stop, right in front of the crevasse. Everyone approaches the chalet, while Wario rushes towards the crevasse at top speed. He screams in despair.
These bags fulled of gold are falling into the crevasse. These are his bags that stopped the chalet.
- Mario: What just happened?
- Tails: It looked like something stopped the chalet!
At the edge of the crevasse, Wario starts to cry.
- Wario: NO! My gold ! My precious gold ! No...
Everyone looks at each other, no one understanding Wario's behavior. Except Knuckles, of course. But there's no time for further questions. Mario suddenly opens the cottage door. Inside, he finds Shadow and Luigi, both passed out. Mario rushes to Luigi and Sonic to Shadow.
- Mario: Oh no! He's frozen! Luigi! Answer me, please!
- Sonic: Shadow's head is bleeding! He must have hit his head on the way down!
- Peach: We've got to treat them! Quickly!
