Chapter 3: Traveling South To Azalea Town! Traverse Union Cave!

Michael quickly reacted to the news, running at Ninetales and scooping her up bridal style. He then jumped off the roof of the gym and landed in the street below, all the while STILL carrying Ninetales. Michael then rushed off towards the Pokémon Center.

Twilight - "Come on girls. Let's quickly catch up with him."

Falkner - "I'll come along too. I'm now curious to see what the eggs hatch into."

Falkner and the girls then headed for the Pokémon Center themselves. At the Center they found Michael waving them over.

Michael - "Sorry about that everyone."

Clair - "It's ok Michael. You are getting three new family members after all."

Nurse Joy then walked out from the back.

Nurse Joy - "Is everyone here Michael?"

Michael - "Yes."

Nurse Joy - "Then quickly follow me."

Nurse Joy then led the others to a big room in the back with a table in the middle. On the table were the three eggs. Nurse Joy walked around to the other side of the table, then slowly removed the incubator top from the egg on the party's left. Numerous cracking sounds came from the egg, then in a flash it hatched, revealing a Mareep. Then the egg on the party's right had its incubator top removed. It then followed the same process as Mareep's egg, hatching to reveal a Slugma. Finally, the middle egg cracked and hatched, revealing a Wooper.

Rainbow - "This Wooper looks different compared to normal."

The others noticed that Rainbow was right. Michael then realized why right away.

Michael - "That's cause it's a Paldean Wooper."

Twilight - "For real?!"

Michael - "Yes. Johtoian Wooper are dual Water/Ground, while Paldean Wooper are dual Poison/Ground."

Michael then realized something.

Michael - "Crap."

Sabrina - "What's wrong?"

Michael - "I passed on getting a Johtoian Wooper at the Ruins of Alph before my Gym Battle with Falkner."

Clair - "Don't worry Michael. You can just head back in there to catch one, then we can continue on our way to Azalea Town."

Michael - "You girls don't mind?"

Mumei - "Not at all."

After Nurse Joy gave the three new hatches a full check-up, Michael contacted the Professors.

Michael - "Hello everyone."

Professor Elm - "Hello Michael. How's the journey going so far?"

Michael - "It's been eventful, that's for sure. Think you could patch Mr. Pokémon through?"

Professor Elm - "Sure thing."

Professor Oak - "What do you need Mr. Pokémon for Michael?"

Michael - "He asked me through Professor Elm to take care of a Pokémon egg for him. And some time after entering Violet City, it hatched."

The screen soon included Mr. Pokémon.

Michael - "Hello Mr. Pokémon."

Mr. Pokémon - "Hello Michael. I'm guessing the egg hatched already."

Michael - "Yes it has."

Michael then leaned over to Twilight.

Michael - "And here's the new family member."

The Professors were excited to see a Togepi.

Mr. Pokémon - "Congrats on getting Togepi Michael. I know she'll be in good hands."

Michael - "Thank you Mr. Pokémon. And Togepi's not the only one."

Professor Birch - "She's not?"

Michael - "Nurse Joy."

Nurse Joy - "Coming."

Nurse Joy wheeled out the other three hatches on a trolley. The Professors were even more amazed that one of the hatches was a Paldean Wooper.

Professor Elm - "Anyway. Time to show us how your PokéDex is coming along Michael."

Michael - "Right away Professor Elm."

Professor Oak - "Ok then Michael. We'll hear from you in Azalea Town. Safe travels."

Michael - "Thanks!"

The call soon ended.

Michael - "Come on girls. Let's get ready for our long trip south."

Girls - "Right!"

Michael quickly sent Mareep, Slugma, and Paldean Wooper home, then helped the girls with making sure they had enough supplies for their trip south to Azalea Town.

Rainbow - "Ok that should be everything."

Michael - "Then let's get going."

Before truly leaving Violet City, Michael quickly returned to the Ruins of Alph and caught a Johtoian Wooper and sent it home. He then joined back up with the girls and they continued south of Route 32. While walking along the route, Michael catches a Hoppip. Then the group decided to take a break by the river for lunch. While waiting for the food to cook, Michael decided to fish and see if he could catch any new Pokémon. After some patient waiting, a Qwifish showed up.

Michael - "Hey little guy."

Then a second Qwilfish appears, but this one has a darker skin color.

Michael - "Is that...?!"

Clair - "What is it, Michael?"

Michael - "I... I think I found a Hisuian Qwilfish!"

Michael then quickly pulls out a pair of Ultra Balls and catches both Qwilfish before they can get away.

Twilight - "Congrats on catching them, Michael."

Michael - "Thanks Twilight."

Mumei - "So what's the difference between them?"

Michael - "Along with a difference in skin color, Johtoian Qwilfish are dual Water/Poison, while Hisuian Qwilfish was dual Dark/Poison, along with having an evolution called Overqwil."

Sabrina - "That makes Overqwil what, your second catch from Hisui?"

Michael - "Second catch and third encounter."

Soon the party had lunch, then packed up and continued their way to Azalea Town. They took a small break and heal their Pokémon at the Pokémon Center located near the entrance to Union Cave. While resting in the Pokémon Center, Togepi evolved into Togetic. Thus Michael took off the Soothe Bell and sent her to his parents and sisters.

Kronii - "You sure about doing that Michael?"

Michael - "She has more room to fly around at the manor. Besides, I don't think she'll like being stuck in her ball all the time."

Mumei - "That's sweet of you at least."

Michael - "Thanks Mumei."

The party then left the Pokémon Center and headed through Union Cave. Sadly, no new catches were made. And the same along the super short Route 33. The party then finally arrived in Azalea Town.
