It had been two days since the death of Grayson and Miranda Gilbert.

Aubrey had pretty much avoided everyone in town except Jenna, Jeremy, and John; they were the only ones who didn't look down on her... she still didn't feel anything towards their deaths. She of course had been texting JJ and her friends and still didn't know that her boyfriend was on his way to see her.

Jenna and John were planning the funerals. Elena was in her room and Jeremy and Aubrey were in her room, the younger boy had his head in his sister's lap as she ran her fingers through his hair. It was quiet but not uncomfortably, so the two didn't need to talk, they understood that it was a safe place away from any judgment.

Aubrey didn't have to fake being sad about Grayson and Miranda's deaths and Jeremy could be sad if he wanted to without being judged for not being overly emotional about the whole thing like Elena was, and it was understandable that she would be but still that didn't mean Bree and Jeremy had to be as well.

The comfortable silence was broken by Jenna yelling up "Bree can you come downstairs for a minute please?"

The two siblings shared a confused look as Aubrey shrugged and Jeremy sat up and got up as well, following Bree out of the room, curious about what Jenna wanted with her.

Bree had no idea of the surprise that she was about to get when she walked into the living room. Aubrey walked into the living room, "what's up, Aunt Jen?"

The strawberry blonde gave Aubrey a look, "Why didn't you tell me that you were going to have company?"

Aubrey looked confused, "I don't know what you mean, Aunt Jen... I'm not expecting anyone."

Jenna then realized that Bree hadn't known that her friend was coming, "well then, how do you explain the boy that knocked on the door asking for you?"

Aubrey shrugged, "I don't know Aunt Jen, nobody told me that they were coming over."

JJ smirked knowing that she would be really surprised to see him, and stepped out from behind a wall, "Well you see about that Rey..."

Her head snapped towards him and her face lit up in a way that Jenna had never seen, as a smile broke out on her face, "Jay!" Then she ran over and hugged him, the blonde teenager wrapped his arms around her waist. "What are you doing here?" He picked her up, spinning her around a couple of times before placing her back on the floor. Aubrey giggled at that, which was a sound the strawberry blonde hadn't heard in a long time.

JJ looked down at her and the look of pure adoration was clear to see in his eyes when he looked at her, "Well when you told me what happened, I wanted to be here for you and since you weren't coming to us anymore I decided to come to you..."

Aubrey had a grin on her face as she hugged her boyfriend tightly before pulling away only for JJ to wrap his arms around her waist and pull her back into his chest, Jeremy had a soft smile on his face watching them, from the moment he met the blonde male he knew that he would be good for Bree. "Well then I think proper introductions are in order, so Aunt Jen this is JJ and Jay meet my aunt Jenna."

Jenna had figured out who the boy was by her niece's reaction to him but nodded, "I figured, but it's nice to officially meet you, JJ."

"You too, Jenna, Rey has told me nothing but good things about you."

Aubrey looked at her aunt, "Soooo could he stay with us while he's in town?" Bree was giving her 'puppy face' which Jenna could rarely resist.

Jenna rolled her eyes, but there was no bite behind it and sighed, "Fine, but no funny business, you two" Both of their faces turned red, though the blonde male buried his face in his girlfriend's hair to hide the blush on his cheeks.

"Aunt Jen!"

She shrugged unashamedly, "What, you're both 16, and I know how teenagers are, I was your age not too long ago. It's a fair warning..."

Aubrey pouted slightly, her face still a light tint of red, "but thank you Aunt Jen." the strawberry blonde nodded at the teenager. Jenna hadn't seen Bree that happy in a long time, other than the times that she spoke about the blonde boy, which was the reason Jenna agreed to let JJ stay with them while he was visiting Aubrey.

"What's with all the noise?" The question was asked loudly as you could hear someone walking down the stairs and at the voice, Aubrey tensed slightly, which in turn made JJ hold her a little tighter to his chest.

Jeremy rolled his eyes at Elena, "This literally had nothing to do with you, so it's none of your business."

Elena just scoffed at him, she didn't understand why her little brother treated her like she was the bane of his existence, when that role in her eyes clearly went to Aubrey. The brunette looked around the room and furrowed her brow when she saw JJ and Aubrey, since she didn't recognize the blonde male.

She lightly smirked, her eyes solely focused on the unfamiliar boy, "Oh hello there... I'm Elena" Aubrey rolled her eyes. She had seen that look on Elena's face before, but she knew that JJ wouldn't fall for it, as almost everyone else did. "What are you doing with that horrible waste of space, when you could do so much better... like me."

Aubrey felt JJ tense at Elena's words, Elena's smirk slowly fell as the blonde male leveled a nasty glare at her for the way she spoke about his girlfriend, "You know I have this thing about hitting girls... but I might just make an exception just this once if you don't shut your fucking mouth..."

Aubrey grabbed his hand, interlocking her fingers with his, and squeezed his hand, making him once again bury his face in her hair and breathe in the scent of her strawberry-scented shampoo, which had a calming effect on him for some reason.

Elena looked appalled and slightly terrified at the little threat, and she looked at Jenna and Jeremy as if they were going to stand up for her after what she had said about Aubrey right in front of them as well. But neither of them was looking at Elena, they both were looking at Bree and JJ as the blond male kissed the side of his girlfriend's head, making her smile at him, her cheeks tinting the slightest shade of red.

Elena then started crying, it always worked with their parents so she didn't see how it wouldn't work with Jenna too, but she was ignored because Jenna knew that Elena had started it and brought it on herself, the brunette huffed, and stomped back upstairs at being ignored.

Elena didn't know who this boy was, but she knew that she wanted him and would do whatever she had to do to get him to leave her sister for her... but what she failed to realize was that nothing she did would make him even so much as give her a second glance.

Jeremy scoffed after Elena had gone back upstairs, "god, did she really think we were about to defend her after what he literally had just said about Bree, and then she freaking cried like she always did to Mom and Dad when she didn't get her way like it would work with Aunt Jen... who had quite literally seen her do it to mom and dad before."

Aubrey snorted, "It's Elena, Jer... nothing she does surprises me anymore...
Then she grinned at JJ, "I knew you wouldn't fall for that look she was giving you, but I really didn't expect you to threaten to hit her if she didn't shut the fuck up."

He smiled back down at her, "Well, I couldn't just let her say that about you and not say something back." he pressed a kiss on her forehead.

Aubrey then pulled him upstairs since Jenna had said that he could stay in her room just as long as there was 'no funny business' "So this is my room, it's not much, but it's mine."

JJ looked around the room, "it's cute baby, it suits you."

She then showed him around the room, "and through that door is a bathroom that connects to Jer's room. So just lightly knock before going in to make sure it's empty, that's how Jer and I do it."

"All right then, got it."

The couple were just talking and catching up, Aubrey had her head lying on his shoulder and was looking up at him with a content smile on her face when he leaned down a little and brushed his nose against hers, "I'm gonna kiss you now alright baby," he paused giving her a chance to say no.

Bree gave him a look, "You know you don't have to announce it every time you go to kiss me, you know, Jay?"

He shrugged "I just want to make sure you're comfortable with it, I may be your boyfriend, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna do anything that would possibly make you uncomfortable without your consent first,"

"I appreciate that, Jay, but you could never make me uncomfortable with anything you do..."

"Still don't expect me to stop asking..."

Aubrey shook her head, but she had a grin on her face, as his lips connected with hers, JJ had wanted to kiss her from the moment he saw her earlier in the living room but didn't want to do it right in front of her aunt whom he had just met and make a bad impression on the strawberry blonde, so he waited until they were alone..."

They pulled away so they could both breathe and JJ's forehead was resting against Bree's as she stared into her eyes, the words left his mouth before he really even comprehended that he said them, "I love you, Rey."

She looked at him wide-eyed as it took her by surprise as well, "really?"

JJ chuckled, "Well, not how I had planned to say that for the first time, but yes Rey, I love you."

Aubrey had a wide grin on her face, "I love you too, Jay." then she pressed her lips against his again, making him smile as the blond kissed her back.
