TeamAAMY: it's called writer's block. I can't help it if that happens. Plus, I'm not that good at making original stuff, so I try my hardest.

phoinex slayer5: Well, think of this as a one-day after Christmas gift.

Bromega2477: Thanks.

Godofwar01: Once this story's completed, whenever that is, or maybe when it's at 30 or 50 chapters.

Carnageprime117: Thank you.

ayatoamagiri3425: Thanks.

SkollDreadWolf00: Thank you.

Yubel578: I'll consider your suggestions.

Disclaimer: I do not own Devil May Cry or Justice League. I only own the OC Drake Redgrave.

"Mr Redgrave!"

Drake opened his eyes, which held a cold expression as he looked at the teacher who was giving him a very disapproving glare while some of the students snickered or glanced back and fourth between him and the teacher. "Yes?"

The teacher narrowed her eyes. "This is your first day here at Red Grave High, try to look as interested as everyone else is."

'Half of them are too lazy or staring at your tits to be interested in the class.' Drake thought with a mental scoff, while holding back the urge to roll his eyes. He just grunted in response to the teacher and uncrossed his arms, trying to look 'interested' in the class. The teacher huffed and got back to the lesson at hand, with the half-demon ignoring the snickers and whispers from the other students.

Day 1 here and he's already regretting it, but considering his age... he had to go to school, and even though he was sixteen years old, had no guardian, no parents, he made it clear he could take care of himself... or teachers and adults were just intimidated by Drake's cold as ice glare and expression he always had, which made him come off as someone that wanted to be left alone.

Being at Red Grave High was not as easy as he thought. Being a school student wasn't easy... and it was only day one.

Day one, and already he's been dealt with whispers about his hair, to which some called him a delinquent for. There was also the classic jocks, there's also the cheerleading squad that consisted of rather attractive young women, most of which were no doubt sleeping with the jocks as he could smell their scents on each other... some more stronger and recently than others which made his nose wrinkle in disgust just thinking about it.

Finally, the lesson finally came to an end with the sound of the bell ringing. Instantly, students were getting to their feet and clamouring to get out while the teacher tried to maintain order. Drake just scoffed at the lack of control the teacher had over her students. That's what happens when you're teaching teenagers who care about nothing but three simple things;

Social life, sex, and gossip.

Seriously. that's like the main thing with teenage humans. They always talk about shit on social media, listen for the latest gossip, or talk about guys/girls they'd love to have sex with or did have sex with, or are thinking of having sex with. Drake wasn't like that. While he was 100% straight, not that he had anything against gay people, he did not go around saying which women he'd like to be in bed with like most boys of this school. He had no time nor interest in looking for a relationship.

Shouldering his bag with a sigh, Drake kept to the back of the horde of students as they exited the classroom and into the hallway, where more students were spread out like cockroaches. Like Drake thought, some were in their groups, chatting about life's latest stuff or their sex lives in such 'discreet' manners Drake rolled his eyes once more.

'Should save their pathetic gossip and opinions for private conversations.' Drake thought with his usual cold expression.

Since it was now lunch, all the students made their way to the cafeteria where they got their lunch. Drake was one of them, getting a cheese sandwich and bottle of water before taking a table in the far back corner of the hall, leaning back and taking a bite out of his food while watching his fellow students chat and laugh about whatever annoying things they had going on in their lives.

They were so lucky, to not have anything to worry about in their happy-go-lucky lives. They didn't know how truly dark and evil the world was, what was out there, that the monsters they feared being under their bed or in their closest... were very much real.

But Drake did. He knew that monsters were real.

A shadow came over him, multiple in fact, but Drake didn't look up from staring at his sandwich while chewing it and taking more bites out of it. He knew that the jocks, the members of the football team, had come over. He could smell them from across the hall with their ungoldly, disgusting aftershave and whatever else they;ve sorayed on themselves. Plus, it helps he could hear them chatting loudly when they were approaching his table.

"You're in our seat." The lead jock whose name Drake did not know nor care to know said. Drake didn't look up as he took another bite out of his food. "I said you're in our seat."

"...I highly doubt a group of six can sit in one seat." Drake replied with a barely audible scoff. "Unless you all like sitting on each other's laps."

"That's not what I meant, you delinquent fuck!" The lead jock sneered, slamming his hand down on the table. This had garnered the attention of a few students, but the lunch hall was so loud that the outburst would barely be heard. "You're at our table, so move!"

Drake remined silent as he finished up with his sandwich, rubbing the crumbs between his fingers to get rid of them, then reached for his bottle of water when it was snatched by one of the jocks.

"Thanks." He said with an annoying laugh, then proceeded to drink from the bottle, running his tongue all over the top for good measure. Once he finished taking a big drink, he lowered the bottom, ensuring there was saliva stuck to it and even spat some into the water, before putting it back down. His actions gained smirks and chuckles from his friends while Drake barely blinked.

"...Leave me." The son of Sparda finally said calmly yet coldly, appearing calm on the outside but the inside was a much, much different story.

"Leave you?" The lead jock snorted before he leaned close, uncomfortably close, to Drake who barely looked up. "Listen here, newbie. We've sat at this table all the time for our lunch, as this is the best positioned table in this hall. We sit here with the babes, and nobody tells us otherwise. So you will get the fuck up off your ass and-"

"Tray!" A female voice shouted, getting the attention of the half-demon and the jocks. Drake looked to see a half-Caucasian and half-Vietnamese teenage girl of average height. She has olive-toned skin with long thick blonde hair and dark gray eyes and big lips. She had long blonde hair that most likely reached her waist, but she currently had it tied into a ponytail. Her expression was that of annoyance, aimed at the boy annoying Drake. "What are you doing?"

"Arte, hey babe." Tray grinned as he moved to put an arm around her but she stepped back, which caused him to frown. "What's wrong? Oh, don't tell me you-"

"Don't start, Tray, we broke up a month ago so don't try and act like you didn't sleep with that slut, Jessie, behind my back and then try to play innocent when you were clearly willing." Artemis said with a sneer, then glanced at Drake. "And now I see you're bullying someone that's just trying to have his lunch in peace."

"He's sitting at our table!" Tray retorted, as if that gave him just reason for his actions. However, Artemis just rolled her eyes with a scoff, crossing her arms under her developing breasts.

"And that gives you the right to interrupt his lunch, spit in his water, Percy?" She looked at the idiot that had done that earlier before returning her annoyed glare to Tray. "Just leave him alone and stop throwing your weight around just because I dumped you in front of everyone."

Tray's expression darkened as he grabbed her arm. "Listen here, you-"

"You're hurting me!" Artemis said as she struggled in his grasp and moved to kick him between the legs when he grabbed her leg, making her hop on one foot. "Oh, now you're going to earn an ass whooping."

Tray grinned. "Shame you didn't get yours smacked because you weren't willing to take the next step. Least Jessie had no-"

Suddenly, a tight pressure came onto his arm, the one holding Artemis' leg. The tightness of the grip caused yell in pain and he released Artemis' leg, the girl stumbling back. The eyes of the jocks, Artemis, and the girls the jocks had brought with them, looked to see Drake had moved and was now gripping Troy's arm tightly.

"You're being rude." Drake said coldly and shoved Tray back into two of his friends, causing them to quickly grab him before he could fall to the floor.

Tray shrugged his friends off and glared at Drake. "You dare put your hands on me, newbie?!"

Drake just stared at him coldly. "This is a lunch hall, for people to have their lunch and chat... not to start confrontations because someone's pride and ego is wounded. Walk away."

One of Tray's friends put a hand on his shoulder and whispered something to him, even as Tray stared angrily at Drake who barely blinked, not breaking his cold expression by any means. Eventually. Tray growled angrily and stormed off with his friends following, but not before shooting a glare at Drake and Artemis.

Said blonde girl turned to Drake. "I didn't-"

"I wasn't doing it for you." Drake regarded her coldly then turned and sat back down, looking at his water bottle, before he picked it up and threw it. Artemis watched, her eyes widening when it went perfectly into a trash bin. "I did it because the whole thing was annoying and getting on my nerves."

Artemis scoffed and put her hands on her shapely hips. "Well, you're a charmer, aren't you? Is this how you thank those who come to help you?"

"I do not need help from anyone." Drake said, looking at her. "Now, I will tell you what I told them; leave me."

Artemis watched as he leaned back and looked off, his eyes just looking around. When she stared into his eyes for several seconds just then, she saw anger, coldness... as well as deep pain However, she just passed it off and gave an irritated grunt before walking away to her table.

"Hey Artemis." Her friend, Victor Stone, smiled at her as she sat down. "Meeting the new guy, huh?"

"He's such an irritating asshole." Artemis scoffed, getting back to her lunch. "Honestly, don't even know why I went to help him."

"Because your ex was bothering him and you want to do anything to hurt him." Victor said knowingly, knowing Artemis was upset that her ex had cheated on her when they had only been together for three months. Artemis was still hurt, and Victor could remember her taking most of that anger out on a punching bag when they were at the gym one weekend.

"Maybe." Artemis said, sighing. She glanced back at where Drake was sitting, finding him sitting there, almost as still as a statue, but his eyes moved, scanning the hall with a cold look that made her shiver. She didn't know what his problem was... but something had hurt him greatly to have such deep pain hidden underneath that anger and coldness.

'Why do I get the feeling he's going to be as annoying and irritating as Jade?' Artemis thought with a sigh.

I am SO SORRY for the long wait for a second chapter of this story, trying to get ideas for a second chapter down was not as easy as you think. However, I did manage to get something, so that should be a relief, right? And I introduced some characters like Artemis and Victor, though they won't be friends with Drake right away... namely due to his cold, lone wolf personality right now.

But they'll be one of the reasons, perhaps the main one, that he eventually lightens up. Still working on a reason for him to take up crime-fighting.

Not sure when the next chapter will be, because I'm going to be focusing on updating one story until it's completed, then focus on another and continue the cycle.
