Telepath Wolf

(Season 2)

Healer

Keep in mind that I do not own Babylon 5 or its characters, so if you recognize any of them, THEY'RE NOT MINE. They are property of WB and Straczynski. (Put in other words: sadly I am not making money out of writing this, I'm only doing it for the pleasure of sharing a piece of my mind with you all)

Please remember that this story is a FEMLASH portraying Susan's and Talia's relationship, if this bothers you, you shouldn't be here, so leave now if you're not comfortable with this fact.

Also remember that Susan is a werewolf, kinda like the ones portrayed in the Underworld movies. You know, strong, virtually immortal, and able to control when they shift.

Once again I altered the timeline to suite my needs for things to flow between them. I however, did not alter the B5 General plot line, so the major events that happened during the series, are still there, some of them with a little twist, but most of them stayed just the same.

Telepath Wolf

(Season 2)

Chapter 36 (62)

Healer

After Susan's fall out with the Captain, she chose to start training her telepathic abilities. She had asked me to help her out but other than the basics, I was no instructor. I had never actually tried to teach anyone other than Alisa when she had her mind burst the year before, so I talked Susan into asking Kosh for help. And then, we were three humans training under his wing. To this day I am not sure if the Captain was aware of Susan's and my time spent in lessons with Kosh.

Steadily Susan started to get better control over her mind walls and her probes, which we kept testing back and forth whenever we had the chance. We still did not know when Psi Corps would send the new commercial telepath, but we knew we had to be ready for at least a few probes and superficial scans on our minds, so the trick was in detecting them happening but not visibly react. A hard task indeed for Susan, who even when she felt it was me, kept getting upset whenever I brushed her mind without warning.

A little after the incident which resulted in Mr Morden being released, the Captain started to act erratically.

"He's having hallucinations" told me Susan over lunch. "For a moment I saw and felt what was going on through his eyes and mind" she added heavily

"You should forgive your friend. He needs you" I told her taking her left hand on my right one. "You can't go on hating him"

"I've told you before. I don't hate him Talia. I just hate what he did" she said intertwining our fingers "If anything had happened to you…"

"But nothing happened. Nothing other than a headache at least" I reassured her

So in the end, the hallucinations the Captain experienced were a result of him being sort of possessed by an Alien life form that he caught while wandering around a desolated part of the station, the B5 Triangle Susan called it. Captain Sheridan managed to free himself of the burden when he interpreted the need of said Alien to go back to his home, somewhere in Sector 14. The hallucinations he experienced were the only way this Alien could communicate.

Susan sort of cleared the air, so to speak, with the Captain the night he came back from Sector 14. But not enough to be on the point where they were before. Their easy bantering at each other and the comfort they used to draw from one another was still missing.

Captain Sheridan of course tried to make amends in many ways, one of which was dealing himself with the new Commercial Telepath sent by Psi Corps instead of asking Susan to do it as was protocol. I was glad Susan did not had to deal directly with him. Just the few interactions I had to sustain in order to complete the handover of duties on the station were annoying at best. Jean Christophe seemed committed to Psi Corps, of course, like I had been at some point, and I could tell he kept subtly scanning the officers and myself whenever he approached us for the first time each day. So it became a regular routine, if we bumped into him, he would scan us, and Susan and I would not react other than the questioning look we sent his way.

"Since you did not come home, and didn't call, I figured you were pulling another double shift, again" I told Susan when I walked with take out into the Dome.

She smiled back at me and reached for the food container "Did we have plans for tonight?"

"Nothing specific" I told her smirking at her

"Sorry I didn't call. The Captain is on date with Ambassador Delenn and I am waiting for Lt. Keffer to come back with his squad" she said digging into the food

"Oh. Things are working out for the Captain then. Ambassador Delenn asked me to join her for breakfast tomorrow, by the way"

"Jump Gate activated" said Lt Corwing

"Zeta 1 to Babylon Control" came Keffer's voice over the coms

"This is Babylon Control. Go ahead Zeta 1" said Susan smiling apologetically at me

"We're bringing the transport in for inspection, recommend full medical team. And you better let the Captain know, I've got an ugly feeling about this" said Keffer

"I'll get out of your hair to let you deal with this" I told her softly before walking out of the Dome

Susan came home just to refresh herself and change into a clean uniform next morning, by the time I was about to leave for my meeting with Ambassador Delenn.

"Rough night?" I asked cupping her face a placing a soft kiss on her lips

"You could say that again" said Susan without humor

"What is going on? Anything I can help with?"

"Nothing I am at liberty to discuss yet" she said sadly, before engulfing me in a tight hug and taking a deep breath in. I held her back and poured all the love I felt for her in that moment. If this was the way I could help, I would gladly do that over and over again.

Sometime later, when Ambassador Delenn and I finished breakfast and were about to head our separate ways, we stumbled upon a dead body at Zocalo, a Mark'Hab. We were waiting for security to arrive when a small Mark'Hab child approached the scene.

"Papa? Mama sent me to find you. You are very late for food, she is very upset, she says for you to come home at once." Said the little child expecting a reply from her father. Delenn and I could barely hold the gasp that formed on our lips the moment the child reached for her dead father and she realized that he was no longer alive. Ambassador Delenn held the child in her arms as the child cried over the loss of her father and I let some tears flow free for this child pain.

That same day, the Captain issued a station Quarantine order. No ships were allowed in or out the station. There was chaos all around, security personnel had their hands full and even Susan's pack was having a hard time trying to subtly control the riots. The Drazi were no help this time around because of fear of contagion. No one knew how this outbreak worked and if it was isolated to only the Mark'Hab population, so most of the Security Staff kept escorting the Mark'Habs to the Medlabs for testing.

Ambassador Delenn and I did everything in our power to help and aid not just the child we had stumbled upon, but all the Mark'Habs. Even more so when we heard of their decision to isolate themselves from everyone else on the station.

After a short chat with Ambassador DShari of the Mark'Hab, Delenn approached the Captain to request a special authorization to join them in their isolation zone. Delenn told him the reason was they were in pain, frightened… and that in such a time her people believes in comforting the ill, sick, and dying. To which I agree. I chose to help in any possible way I could. Luckily the Captain didn't really question who Delenn was referring to when she said 'we', probably assuming it was Lennier who was going to join her.

We were the last to walk into the isolation zone, and as the hatch closed behind us, I was assaulted by all the feelings being broadcasted by the people there. It didn't matter that they were alien, they were alive, but dying and afraid about it. We did what we could in providing assistance to the most sick, gave water to them all, comfort by holding hands to the ones about to die, joining in their prayers, and somehow reuniting families.

"Ms Winters" called me Delenn at some point, urgently asking me to join her. She was with a little girl "She has separated from her mother" she told me as I reached them "Can you help us find her?" she begged.

"What is her name?" I asked the little girl.

"Mama" was the honest answer. I could see in her mind that was how she always called her mom, she had no concept of another name or that Mama was not a name itself. I nodded and headed out, to look for the Mark'Hab I had seen on this little girls mind.

It took me a while, but finally, after roaming for a few hours, I managed to find Sha-na's Mama, who for a moment refused to believe I was going to bring her to her daughter. Finally, when we rounded a corner and we could both see Delenn and Sha-na, relieve flooded through her.

"Sha-na?"

"Mama!"

They held each other for a moment, however the moment they stepped away, Sha-na got dizzy and started to present symptoms of the disease. Not too long after that, she passed away, in her mother's arms while holding my hand.

Each life lost, felt horrible for me. For each of them would cast on their last breath, their strongest memory, be it sad, happy, scary, exiting or a combination of all. Each memory I saw, was a life that ended. First a few docens, soon hundreds and before I knew it, I had thousands of memories ingrained in my head. And suddenly, Delenn and I were the only living beings in the Isolation zone. Both grieving. Both tired. Both of us scared. Sha-na's mother was the last to go, on her last living moment she thought of the first time she held Sha-na in her arms. I kept relieving that particular memory, over and over again until the hatch keeping us there opened.

"Talia!?" Said Susan rushing to me. Holding me at arm's length, surely to asses if I was injured or sick. I just wanted her to hold me and make all the pain go away. "What! I don't understand. What are you doing here? Why are you here!" She asked.

"Take me home" I begged her while finally wrapping my arms around her. And she did.

A/N: Almost two years since last updating this one here? Wow. I am so sorry. Lost my drive, drive to write for this fandom for a while, but hey, found myself back again here after all the talks about reboots and now the news about the animated movie… and I got hooked into a couple of podcasts that I strongly recommend. (Babylon 5 for the First Time… and Grey 17)

So, if you still around, thank you does not really cover it, but will have to suffice. Thanks for sticking around. Hopefully it won't be that long again between updates.

Remember to leave your reviews… they nourish my imagination.
