Chapter 1: Another Voice
Author's note:
Hey everybody! Thanks to playing through chapter one and two of Deltarune I had the impulsive decision to try and write a story. Of course the problem being what can I do to mess around with the story to make things interesting. As you probably read from the summary, what if the SOUL and Kris are able to communicate with each other? On even footing for control of one body. As you can imagine this is going to cause some interesting diversions in the original story along with other little problems to contend with. Anyways, Kris does talk in this story and will be refer as a He just incase you were confused. I'm going to do my best to respect the character and if anything this story is an experiment.
Now for the most part you are going to see the usual dialog from the game, but at certain points just to show this story is going to go odd places, some conversations will change because of the alterations. Now then, its best to send you on your way. This is TheFoolOfTheNoon signing off!

"KRIS! Kris, if you do not wake up, we will be late for school!"
The young man grumbled a bit as the owner of the voice who called his named walked over to open the curtain in the room. Pretty much ruining any possibility of pretending to sleep in. Granted it was his mother's idea that he should keep up with his education. She always looked out for him and showered him in care and love. He loved that about his mom, not that he would really say out loud.
With a yawn, the teen sticked his head up sleepily. Making eye contact with his mother through his messy bangs.
"I will wait outside for you, alright?"
Wordlessly he stuck a thumb's up out as the white anthropomorphic goat woman he briefly saw left his room. With another yawn he pushed the covers off and jumped off the bed. Kris figured he was going to sleep in this school morning and went to bed in his day clothes. Saves time changing, especially since time was not on his side. With a few quick stretches and fixing his hair a bit, he rather likes it when nobody can see his eyes, he maneuvered his way out of the house. Taking quick notes of the surroundings as he exited the house.
His mother called to him, and briefly stating that they may be able to make it in time. He did not respond as he took shotgun in the red car whose type he did not really care to think about right now. Kris took some deep breathes as his mother started the car and began speaking how beautiful the day is and wondering if it would stay that way. Especially for his brother Asriel, he smiled briefly thinking about his sibling. What he considered his first friend and victim. He loved messing with his brother with pranks, well he did so to everyone he knew but he was the first. The week couldn't go by fast enough in his opinion, he wanted to see his brother as soon as possible.
Unfortunately staring at a clock and telling it to go faster does not speed up time. He thinks time moved slower just to spite him. Making an inaudible sigh he gazed out the window and took in the neighborhood. Familiar faces waving at them, well it would be a surprise to see an unfamiliar face considering how tight knit this literal neck of the woods is. Still, he felt compelled at least to return a weak wave.
"Just how long has it been since I talked to these people? Feels like a forever ago."
His thoughts echoed in his mind, just as lonely as he is, but a fact he will not admit. Eventually the school came into view. Shortly after parking his mother took his hand and led him inside. Any child would be embarrassed by such a display, but to him it felt like a safety net. A comfort that his mother willing to help him through some barriers. This could not be any more confirmed when she hugged him, and they went their separate ways in the school.
He heard the mumbling of the teacher behind the door and with a deep breath he opened the door. The silenced that followed was nearly agonizing as he felt all eyes on him. Familiar eyes of people he met and knew. He dares not let any expression show as the teacher, a lizard woman by the name of Alphys who really lacked any true command in the classroom.
"Oh… K-Kris…! We thought you weren't coming today?"
"Me either, yet here I am."
"We're doing group projects this month… Uhhhh…so, walk around and find a partner, ok?"
Socializing, he used to be good at it, but it felt like an effort to try and talk to his fellow students. Not many good choices come to mind. Still, he felt compelled to try to find a partner. Starting with Temmie which for the life of him he can't get a read on. Or perhaps they are just dim. Either way, he doesn't expect much from a person who treats a hard-boiled egg as a partner. The next two weren't any better. They are already partnered with each other and clearly one is already getting on the nerves of the other. Snowy the cowboy talking quip machine was less than kind than his armless partner. His condolences go out to the Monster Kid.
Catti and Jockington were next on his less. Not surprisingly they are already partners with each other. He would have thought he had a chance with Catti at least considering their history in the past. However, he also knew better to push his luck with the large feline. Jockington, well he kinda stopped listening to him part way into his chatter. This only left Berdly and Noelle, he cursed his luck as clearly the two are partners. Still, he was pressed for options.
Obviously, Noelle was the ideal choice to ask. They were childhood friends in the past and he knew her as kind if not cautious and bit of what some call a pushover. Berdly is probably the last person on earth he would ask to be partners with. The bird monster has an ego the size of a planet and likes to lord over like he is the only smart person in the room. Even the timid Noelle who is smarter than him is considered second place to him. In short order, he considered him a pretentious dick.
Despite that though, something in the back of his mind told him to ask the bird anyways. Which he did and to no one's surprise he was not just declined but insulted at the same time. He held back the urge to knock his lights out with a deep breath as he moved onto the choice he wanted to ask.
"Um…Noelle?"
"Hey, Kris! What's up? Didja lose your pencil again?"
"Of course, a pencil, that will solve my partner problem. Not!"
His mental sarcasm went unheard as the reindeer girl pulled out a pencil case and proceed to show him a candy cane themed pencil or one with lights. As appealing they are, a pencil is not what he wanted at all.
"No Noelle that's not it, uh…um partners?" He wanted to kick himself for his awkward delivery, but the girl was catching on to his question.
"Huh? You want to be partners? Ummm… Sorry… Berdly already asked me…"
"I know I kinda figured that already when I asked him…for some reason."
"But I could ask Ms. Alphys if we could make a group of three! I'll ask if you're sure!"
He couldn't complain too much considering his circumstance. If anything, this could give him a chance to catch up with Noelle and spite Berdly for his earlier rudeness. Granted this means helping the egotistical bird get an A, but the pros outweigh the cons in his opinion. He gave the go ahead and without hesitation Noelle called on the lizard teacher for the green light. Well, it would have been one if Berdly didn't cut off the female reindeer. Shouting his disapproval which all but destroyed the quaint atmosphere of the classroom. It became a mess as Noelle grew quiet as her confidence withered away.
Images of duct taping Berdly's beak or slamming his face into his desk flashed in Kris's mind. For once, he was willing to work with the ego driven bird, but that was a mistake after all. The mix of noises was starting to get to him. He gripped his hands to steady himself, being prepared to walk to his seat and take deep breathes. That would have been the case if not the open slam of the class door silenced everyone. Kris looked at the newcomer and her outfit pretty much told him that she reeks of trouble. Couldn't be anybody else but Susie, resident bully and probably the only other person Alphys fears more than her boss.
Kris couldn't care less though about her reputation. However, he did notice that she looked melancholy as she stepped in. Even more so in her voice despite it sounding gruff.
"… am I late?"
"Ohh, n-no! You're fine! W-we were just, uh…"
"Paging instructor Alphys, you left your spine at home."
"Umm, Susie you're with Kris!"
So, he is paired with the bully? No surprise, somebody he doesn't know very well either. Kris would laugh at this situation, but he doesn't think the classroom can handle anymore oddities. Susie remained quiet for a bit before answering with a simple 'great'. There was another awkward pause before Alphys declared that she is going to write the assignment. If this morning hadn't enough problems already, Kris noticed that there was no chalk and very quickly so did the teacher.
"Uh… H-Has anyone seen the chalk? This is the third time it's gone missing, and…Y-you all know I can't start class without some!"
Her complaints were met with silences and stares. It would seem to Kris that nobody had anything to say about the missing chalk. This visibly irritated Alphys and to get people talking she threatened the whole class with trouble. Kris mentally chuckled as there was no way the teacher could live up to that promise. Said spine is still missing to give her the backbone to make it sound like a real threat. It was there when she started saying 'please' almost begging. No wonder she loses control of the class easily. If it was his mother though, it would be a different story. He knows from personal experience she can have a mean look that can silence a room instantly.
After more silence Noelle brought up a sensible idea, "Hey, there might be a box in the supply closet… Miss Alphys, why don't Susie and I…"
Unfortunately, it would seem the teacher only heard the first part and Susie's name. Which immediately she pointed the late purple lizard girl as the supply runner. The young man saw a frown form on her face, clearly not wanting to deal with the hassle but shrugged before saying 'whatever' and leaving with a small slam on the door.
"And K… Kris… Can you go with her and make sure she… Um, actually gets it? And, um, stays out of trouble…?"
"Well, I could use a walk," He thought to himself as he wordlessly gave Alphys the thumbs up. She thanked him as he made his way out of the classroom and into the hallway.
Susie wasn't that far ahead of him and was standing in place fumbling with her jacket. Kris raised an eyebrow as he saw her pull out a piece of chalk and eat it like it was a piece of candy. He chuckled to himself at the sight, he heard of people eating paste, but this was a different level of eating inedible objects. However, his amusement ended when the reptilian monster girl glanced in his direction and walked slowly towards him.
"… Kris …Didn't see you there. Hey, you didn't see anything just now, did you?"
Silence fell between them; Kris wasn't sure if answering was a great idea. Unfortunately, this led the girl to grow annoyed. Saying his name in a low growl as she made his way towards him. Kris was afraid of a few things; fighting wasn't one of them. Nevertheless, this girl had the height advantage and more likely physically stronger than him.
"Hey… Let me tell you a secret."
He can practically feel the cold anger in her voice as she picked him up and slammed him into the lockers behind him. The young man winced in unseen pain as no doubt that was going to leave a bruise.
"Owww…"
"Owww…"
"Holy crap, she made me hear an echo in my own head. Yikes."
"Quiet people piss me off."
Kris rolled his eyes as she went off on him. Saying that his silence doesn't hide his thoughts from her. Not like he cared, his mind was thinking how none of the students or teacher in the classroom didn't come investigate the loud slam. He peeked his eyes to the left and noticed a bunch of faces peering at him through the glass. Concerned yet too afraid to act, leaving Kris to wonder if Susie really is that feared in his classroom. Though right now, her ranting is really starting to annoy him, and he tuned out most of it.
"Just, lemme say one little thing. Seems like a waste to get expelled just for having a snack. So, Kris, if I KNOW you're gonna pull the trigger…"
"I really don't care if you eat chalk. You're the one overreacting here. Though I also rather you don't beat me up. Not like you are going to listen to a word I say."
"Why don't I just get expelled for some REAL Carnage? Kris… How do you feel… about losing your face?"
"Oh shit, she's not bluffing, is she?" Kris eyes widen as her maw of sharp teeth opened. Inviting his face to be her next meal. She pulled him closer as his mind raced for a way out, but before any ideas were pulled. The girl simply dropped him onto the ground. Apparently changing her mind.
"Never mind she was bluffing, I knew that…"
"No, you didn't…"
"Shut up…wait…was that me?"
He was going to ponder about it more until Susie's voice brought him back to reality, "Kris. You've got a good mother… it'd be a shame to make her bury her child."
Kris hated it when people brought up his mother. Yes, he is her only child left living with her now, but no need to bring her into the conflict. Still, he kept his mouth shut as he slowly got back up. Back now sore from the impact from before. She continued to speak, just getting it over with, and making him do the entire project. She made it clear, that it was her way and no one else's. His choices didn't matter, this angered him for some reason but kept it down as he followed her through the halls.
She complained about his slowness which led into an insult. Yep, she was a bully alright if that wasn't clear enough already. Eventually they reached the closet.
"Well, here's the closet. Too bad… we were just starting to have fun."
"Speak for yourself, I can think more things much more fun than this."
Opening the closet door, they were met with jet black darkness as the entire atmosphere around them grew ominous. It was unsettling and it shook both to their core. Kris himself taking a few steps back away from the unknown. Both of them were scared to what they will find in the room. Susie tried to play it off, but he can tell easily that she was frighten. Still, they had to get the chalk and by the girl's idea they stepped into that darkness together. Nothing but a paper trail and pure dark awaited them on the inside. The dark seemed to go on forever and it was strange.
"This is supposed to be the supply closet, right? I don't remember it being this…expansive."
"See? Why are you so scared?"
"You were creeped out moments ago too, don't try to hide it."
"There is nothing in here but old papers. Let's try to find a light switch."
Susie went on ahead, feeling the wall for a switch as Kris looked around. Neither could find a light switch and tried venturing deeper into the dark. He knew that something was already off and slowly his partner is putting the pieces together that the closet has more room than necessary. It was only after they walked deeper in that the mutual feeling of returning came to both. As Susie put it, the closet is 'broken' for lack of a better word.
"Well, we've worked hard enough. If Alphys wants chalk so bad, she can get it herself. Let's split."
Kris nodded as they doubled back to the light of the doorway, but before they can reach it. The doors slammed closed, leaving them in the darkness. Both student's eyes widen with visible panic as now they are locked in this empty void that is the supply closet.
"Wh-what the…!?"
"Did somebody lock us in?!"
Ignoring the fact Kris just spoke. The female monster ran up to the closed door and furiously bang on it with her fists. Demanding whoever locked them in to let them out. As for Kris though, he noticed something else they should be concerned about. The papers they were standing on were shaking. Susie quickly noticed too before backing up towards her fellow student.
"The floor, it's…!
"Oh boy…"
Was all Kris could mutter out as the paper floor gave way. Panic hit him like a train as he and Susie fell into the darkness. He didn't know how long they fell for, but before he knew it the floor greeted him, and he lost consciousness.
/
"Owww…why can I feel that? Hey kid, get up! You got to get up and look for Susie! Come on man! Wake up!"
"Ah! Huh? What? Who?" Kris woke up with a start as he adjusted himself to a seated position. His body was a bit sore, but all things considered he was alright. He shook his head as he noticed his outfit changed entirely. Gone were his normal clothes, replaced with sliver pieces of armor over a dark blue bodysuit with a short torn pink cape.
Looking around he couldn't see anything but a dark void everywhere. It was a stark darkness though as unlike the cold void he can clearly see the barren land mass he was standing on with one path forward. Checking his pockets, he felt something sheathed to his side, pulling it out it was revealed to be a wooden sword.
"Lame, but its better than nothing I suppose. Just where am I? Gotta find Susie and a way out of here."
Footsteps echoing in the dark. Kris followed the path before him, the first oddity being a small ball of light sparkling in the darkness. Confused he reach out towards it and was enveloped in the light. He doesn't quite understand it, but it felt like something was SAVED and he could breathe a bit easier. Still, he had to get out of this area and continued his path forward. It was nothing but one odd encounter after another as he passed these odd…objects that would sway and emit a noise as he passed by. That's not taking into account of the holes leaking what he can best describe as liquid darkness and the eyes etched into the walls. It was creeping him out to no end.
The entire time his pace was quick as he kept moving forward. Eventually reaching a long path with the same odd swaying objects alone to the side of it. They had a sinister color to them and reeked of hostility. Passing by one of them caused it to launch three white pellets at him. Something inside of him gave alarm bells that these things shouldn't be touched. He felt his body be propelled on its own, avoiding the pellets at a quick pace. This surprised him until he reached the next area. Where a puzzle and another ball of light awaited him.
"In this land, only eyes blinded by darkness can see the way… Whatever that means. Hmm…three eyes and looks to be a switch in the holes of each one. I guess they want me to close them?"
Looking at the three circles underneath the eyes, Kris was able to deduce that is what eyes are blinded when he flipped the switch. Effortlessly he solved the puzzle, and the path forward was made. He smirks at his small victory as he continued his way. Eventually reaching an area filled with this dust like particle piles. They were blown away easily, revealing a rock underneath. Seeing no reason not to, he blew away all four piles for the hell of it. Reaching the last one and giving it one mighty blow. To his surprise Susie was hiding behind the pile with a shocked look on her face. She too had a complete outfit overhaul now wearing a long black vest with purple trims and a purple shirt for her upper wear. Her lower wear she wore baggy plum pants with black boots with golden trims. As for accessories she wears studded bracelets and a black belt with a golden buckle in the shape of the heart.
If Kris had to sum up her appearance, she looked like a punk rocker. Not helped by her hair turned plum and her skin became lavender pink. This actually had him wonder if his hair and skin changed color as well.
"H-hey! B… back off! Come any closer and I'll…!"
"Or you'll what?"
"… K… Kris!? Phew… Hey, don't scare me like that, dumb ass! Unless you WANT to get clocked in the face, heh."
Kris smiled, "I guess the scary Susie can be frightened too."
"Hey! I wasn't scared! I was…just getting an ambush ready! Yeah!" Her poor excuse only got Kris to smile more which ticked her off. Immediately she got up to him and picked him up by his armor, "Wipe that stupid smirk off your face!"
"Sure…heh."
"Wait a minute…did you just speak? Like a full sentence?" Kris smiled as he tilted his head and shrugged. Going back to being silent which angered Susie, "Hey! Don't clam up on me now! Grrr…you're enjoying this aren't you?"
He gestured with his free hand, saying 'a little bit' before Susie let him go and dropping him onto the ground. She rolls her eyes and states they should get going and find a way out of this weird place they found themselves in. Granted they don't know where 'here' is they just know that its some sort of dark nothingness that goes on forever. Obviously, Susie blamed Kris for their situation and expects him to get them out.
"Riiiight…my fault, like I knew this would happen. Is this how you cope?"
"Lead the way, Kris!" Somehow being appointed the front man Kris shrugged as he braved forward into the unknown with Susie walking behind him. Intentionally keeping a slow pace the monster girl grew frustrated before changing her mind and running ahead of him.
"So much for leading the way," he smirked as he ran after her. Sliding down the side of one of the land masses and catching up to the girl whose attention was focused on something above them. Susie noticed him as he approached.
"Hey, Kris. There's somebody up there waving at us. Any idea what they want…?"
Looking upward he could see the waving figure but couldn't make out their features. He had an uneasy feeling about the mysterious figure. After a minute of staring, the figure raised its hand and created two white spades that were aimed at Susie. Kris felt his body go on high alert as his partner dodged the attack. Loudly declaring to run for their lives as spades began raining from the sky. In a panic he ran as fast as he can while doing his best to avoid the dangerous projectiles.
He froze up as a wall of the projectiles cut him off and one came flying straight at him. He braced himself for the impact, but instead he felt his body jerk backwards and avoided the projectile completely. Once the danger passed his body was sent forward again without his input and now, he had control of himself again. He had no idea what happened but getting out of the storm of spades was his priority. Avoiding all the attacks he caught up to Susie who was ready to go down the grooved slide in the side of the platform they are on.
There was no other way to go, and both took the risk sliding down. More projectiles harassed them both as they maneuvered to avoid them. The same mysterious force that helped him out before did the same here. Keeping his body out of harms way when he couldn't react in time. It was strange yet he couldn't complain considering circumstances. After sliding for a few more minutes, he was engulfed with a bright light and felt his conscious fade after a quick thud.
/
"Hey, you still with me? Come on buddy, shake it off."
"Argh…ugh…that was rough."
"You're telling me, get up. Susie moved ahead of you, don't want to be left behind."
"R-Right…"
Kris shook awake as he realized he was at he was at the bottom of the slide. Shaking off his drowsiness he stood back up and dusted himself off. Looking up it was clear that it was a one-way trip. Not that he wanted to go back. Craning his neck around, he recalled the voice in his head waking him up. It sounded like him, but he doesn't remember talking to himself in the past. Was it just his brain just finding a way to jump start his body in an unknown place? Not to mention the fact his body moved on its own. Something is up with him, and he needs answers soon. First, he must catch up with Susie though. No doubt she went ahead because he was dead weight.
With determination, he moved forward and found himself in a drastically different area. Instead of a cold void there was dark solid walls and a path leading into a crossroads. Standing in the middle is Susie who was looking ahead.
"Oh hey you're not dead Kris, check this place out," She pointed to the oddly shaped town ahead. Shadowed out buildings shaped oddly like a drawing. They only recognized these as buildings thanks the glow of the blue lines highlighting their features. Walking together they inspected the buildings and noticed that they aren't even true buildings but rather flat cut outs of a town. In other words, there was nobody here.
"The heck…? Who would go out of their way to make a fake town? I'm going to guess that either the person is long gone or is a wacko at this point."
"Look at the castle over there…what is that stream coming out of it?"
Kris shrugged as he gestured that they should check it out. Making note of the sparkling ball of light to save before proceeding down the path to the castle. The silence of the area getting on both their nerves.
"Why the hell is there a castle inside a supply closet…? This makes no sense."
*Welcome, heroes…!*
A new voice took them both by surprise. Susie demanding who was it that welcomed them.
*Do not be alarmed… I am not your enemy. Please come forward, both of you…*
Kris and Susie looked at each other for a moment before doing as the voice asked. Moving forward until stopping a few feet away from a figured cloaked in a robe. No face can be seen and by the sound of his delivery, the young man can tell the figure practiced their lines.
"Welcome. I am the prince of this kingdom. The kingdom of darkness."
"Well its certainly dark down here. Who would rule over this?"
"Kris, Susie… There is a legend in this land. A legend that one day, two heroes of light will arrive, and fulfill the ancient prophecy, foretold by time and space. Please, heroes…listen to my tale…"
"I don't really want to…"
"Give him a chance, you could learn something."
"Okay now I know I'm not imagining things. Who the fuck are you and why are you speaking in my mind?"
"I…wish I knew, look though. Just listen to this guy, and we can get this sorted later…"
"Grr…fine, you owe me that explanation."
Kris took a deep breath as he calmed his mind as he strained himself to speak, "We'll listen."
When those words left his mouth, he could have sworn that he saw the figure smile. A giddy smile, "Very well then…"
The cloaked figure began telling them the legend passed around the shadows. A legend of hopes, dreams, light and dark. The legend of Delta Rune. He described that years ago that light and darkness is balanced with its people happy in the harmony. However, should the harmony be broken then a calamitous event would take place. The land will shake, and the sky turn black as darkness descends. Essentially all of earth would be doomed. The figure then described the three heroes in the prophecy. A human, a monster, and a prince from the dark, only them alone can seal the fountains and banish what was called the 'Angel's heaven' to bring balance to the world and save it.
Kris despite his earlier feelings of listening to the tale. Was intrigued by the legend, not to mention the three heroes mentioned. They all fit the bill that was said. He did not say anything though as the prince went on to explain the geyser of darkness is what gave the land they are in form. Recently though, another fountain has sprouted up and is causing the balance to shift.
"Kris, Susie… thank you for listening to my long tale," Kris responded with a thumbs up which brought some joy to the prince, "I deeply believe you two are the heroes of the legend. The despite whatever enemies you may face…you two have the courage to save the world. Delta warriors! Please, won't you accept your destiny…?
The young man gave it some thought. Its not often an adventure like this comes up and well it would be interesting to see it through. Susie had other plans though.
"Uhhh…nah."
"W...what?"
"Me? Some kind of hero or something…? You've got the wrong person."
"B-but Susie, without you, the… The world will…"
"Oh boy…this is happening…"
"Shouldn't you do something?"
"Like Susie is going to listen to me. Let's just let this play out."
The back and forth went on for a little while before the purple monster girl turned to face him, "Anyway, Kris… If YOU wanna play pretend with this weirdo…stick around. I'M going to find a way out of here."
"Susie…wait!"
That was the last thing Kris heard from the figure before he heard a bizarre noise followed with the prince being blasted way. A victim of a strange bike accident by a child like being. The newcomer was a strange sight to the duo. Already making his intentions clear by laughing and calling them out as heroes. Kris rolled his eyes as the kid spewed on about, he is going to be the best for making them turn tail and run. Susie didn't waste no time demanding to know who this intruder was. Stupidly, the kid only referred himself as the bad guy. Giving Kris more of a reason to tune him out a bit.
His attention returned though when the strange kid told them their only way home is east from here.
"But, I, Lancer, won't let you go there! And I've got a flawless two step plan to ensure it. Step one. I thrash you. Step two. You lose!"
"I think you have it the wrong way," Kris said with a smirk.
"Huh? What do you mean? My plan is great!"
"It sure is kid," Susie added, "But what Kris here means is. You will be the one being thrashed!"
Like that, the first battle begun. As Kris and Susie drew their weapons, a sword and an ax, a vicious combo. They attempted the first attack, but Lancer was able to avoid their blows easily before counter attacking by trying to run them over. Kris felt his body move on its own again to deftly avoid the road raging bicycle.
"Not to sound ungrateful, but did you move my body?"
"Sure did, I don't know how though. I just can, so uh sorry in advance for any unexpected pulls."
"Whatever, just try not to interfere with the fight alright?"
"I'll try not to, but question. Why are two teens trying to beat up kid riding a bike?"
"Because he attacked us! Isn't there any other reason to attack?"
"Fair enough, but can I make a suggestion?"
"Yes and the right to be ignored."
"Geez what kind of person you are? Anyways, I think we shouldn't try to murder the child. Maybe you could compliment him?"
"W-What?! That is a dumb thing to do in a time like this!"
"Hey it can work!"
"Since when complimenting an enemy ever a good thing?"
"Okay clearly you aren't playing ball here. Fine I'll do it myself."
"Wait…what?!"
Before Kris can protest, he felt his consciousness be pushed back and control over his body completely gone. He was now a passenger in his own body as another person began moving his body as their own. His anger grew as he watches the being puppet his body and warned Lancer of Susie's attack. The purple dinosaur grew angry with him, shouting at him for going back on thrashing the child on the bike. Her attacks missing because now the crazy child is aware of her strikes, and they had to avoid his counterattack. Within the next turn his body complimented Lancer on his appearance which lowered the monster kid's attack, but still earned ire from Susie.
"The hell is wrong with you? You did a complete 180! Is your brain broken?"
"In a sense, yes. I know what I am doing though!"
"The heck…Kris? You sound a bit…softer…like you sound like yourself, but it doesn't give off the same feeling…"
"Oh hell no…I'm taking back control!"
Kris gritted his teeth as he pushed himself forward and began fighting for control of his body again. He felt his being clash with another and began feel his right arm again. Gritting his teeth he took his fist and punched himself in the face which loosened control from the other consciousness.
"Kris! What the fuck? Why are you hitting yourself?"
"Uhh…is your buddy is going to be, okay?" Lancer said with concern, "He looks terrible."
"Arrgh…I'm taking back my body!"
"Kris?" Susie was stunned to see the teen fighting with himself as he knocked himself into the ground and was essentially single man wrestling. Despite her usually gruff demeanor she was growing concerned over what was going on.
"Hey! I know what I'm doing! I'll give you your body back when I was done! Oof!"
"Screw you! This is my body! Which means I do what I want!"
Susie and Lancer simply stared with horror as Kris continued to convulse on the floor as a battle they cannot interfere with continued. After a few more minutes of fighting and attempts to stabilize Kris, the robed figure from earlier ran in.
"Hold on! I can help him!" He quickly charged his magic and sprinkled magic dust over Kris. Slowly Kris began to slow down and in less than a minute was slowly panting and exhausted.
"Whew…that worked. Now we don't have to worry whatever that was," Susie said with a smirk. Her cool front being reasserted now the crisis has passed.
"What she said, that was scary!" Lancer added.
"Th-Thank…you…"
The prince removed his robed and revealed his dark fluffy form that was contrasted with his green robes, pointed hat and green rimmed glasses, "Glad to be of help."
"Hey glasses, what happened? Why did Kris go nuts all of sudden? It was like there was somebody else in control," Susie got closer to Kris to check over him and noticed he looked pale.
The prince used his magic to check over Kris's vitals. It wasn't long until he found something wrong with him spiritually, "Oh no…something is wrong with his SOUL."
"What?! His soul? How can have a problem with his soul?"
"It's not working with him; they are working against each other. I managed to pacify the SOUL, but this does not bode well for our quest if we cannot get them to work together."
"Okay, you deal with that then. What's your name anyways?"
"My name is Ralsei, and its my job to support you lightners."
