Chapter One: The Fair
"There it is! The Omaha World's Fair." Velma says as the group arrives at the fair and goes over to the map board.
"Wow. This fair is so cool. They've got everything. The cad of the future, the house of the future." Fred says in amazement.
"Like how about a pasta stand of the future." Shaggy asks.
"Hmm. It does say they have an international food quart." Alexis says before she feels a breeze and sees Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are gone.
"You just said the magic words." Velma says as she smiles.
"What? International food quart?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Food in general." Velma says as the group chuckles.
"Come on gang. Scooby and Shaggy got the right idea. Let's have a look around." Daphne says.
*Timeskip*
"Hey sis, Velma check it out. A magical makeover machine." Daphne says as the group is standing outside of a makeover machine.
"Cool." Alexis says.
"I don't know. I kind of like my natural look!" Velma says before Daphne shoves into the machine.
"You okay Velma?" Alexis asks as Velma comes out all dolled up.
"I feel like I have ten pounds of make up on. Wow! I'm hot!" Velma says as she looks at herself in the mirror.
"I guess it's my turn now then." Alexis says as she goes into the machine and comes back out.
"It looks like it just changed your hair Alexis." Velma says.
"Maybe it liked my choice of pastel colors and outfit. But then again comes with being Daphne's sister in terms of fashion sense. All the same anyway. I'll see you two later. I'm gonna go to the food quart for a milkshake." Alexis says.
"Hurry back. We're to meet up with the others soon." Daphne says as she goes into the machine.
"I will." Alexis says as she walks off.
*Timeskip*
"Mmm. That looks so good." Alexis says as she reaches for a milkshake on the line only to bump into someone else's hand.
"Oh sorry." The person says revealing to be a blue eyed boy in a blue shirt.
"Oh no. Please take it. Mine must be the next one coming." Alexis says kindly.
"No it's fine. Take it." The boy says as he shrugs.
"If you insist. Thanks." Alexis says as she grabs the milkshake before the boy grabs the next one.
"No problem. You got good taste. I love oreo." The boy says as he drinks from his milkshake.
"Thanks. I do too. I'm Alexis Hathaway. You?" Alexis asks kindly as she drinks from her milkshake.
"Bobby Blather. That kid over there is my dorky kid brother Billy." The boy says as he gestures to a boy at a table eating a burger.
"I'm sure he's not a dork." Alexis says as she chuckles.
"Maybe. So um you here with your parents?" The boy asks.
"No. With my older sister and her friends. You?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Just my brother. We were actually gonna go see the house of the future. A pretty little thing like you wouldn't wanna come would you?" The boy asks as he smiles at Alexis.
"Slow you jets there pretty boy. You're cute but my sister wouldn't want me running off without telling her where. I I gotta go find her anyway. We were supposed to meet the others a little while ago." Alexis says as she chuckles softly.
"I'm sure she wouldn't mind you being a little late. Don't you wanna hang out?" The boy asks.
"Again you're cute but I gotta go. But maybe later if we see each other we can do something." Alexis says.
"Yeah alright. Bye then." The boy says as he waves at Alexis slightly.
"Bye." Alexis says as she smiles kindly before leaving.
*Timeskip*
"The house of the future." Velma says as the group is standing outside of a house.
"Like which one? I see three of them." Shaggy says before he, Scooby-Doo and Fred faint.
"Velma if the house of the future is the most popular attraction at the fair then why is there no one here?" Daphne asks.
"Look." Alexis says as the group sees a sign that says closed on the attraction sign.
"Oh no. Closed indefinitely? But I just gotta see it. I bragged to the kids in the science club all week about this." Velma says before Bobby and Billy come running out of the house.
"That house it tried to waste us!" Billy shouts in alarm.
"That's silly! A house can't do that." Daphne says.
"Not unless it was..." Alexis says.
"Haunted!" Shaggy says as he, Fred and Scooby-Doo come to.
"It sure is. But I don't back down from a dare and he dared me." Billy says as he points at Bobby.
"What do dares have to do with the house?" Alexis asks.
"He dared me to go inside." Billy says.
"You didn't have to tell them that pea brain!" Bobby says annoyedly.
"I'm not a pea brain. Pea brain!" Billy says as he glares at Bobby.
"Ooh. Good come back." Bobby says as Alexis rolls her eyes as the brothers walk off.
"No, no, no. I will not hear anything more about this silly haunting business." An elderly man says as he comes over.
"Yeah. Like me neither. We should have thought of this a long time ago." Shaggy says as he and Scooby-Doo put on ear muffs.
"Reah. Huh?" Scooby-Doo asks confusedly.
"I am Professor Laslow Oswald and I invented this house. And now I will tell you, you, you and you can tell him later that there is absolutely nothing wrong with this house. Come, come, come. I'll show you." Professor Laslow says as the group follows him.
