I own nothing except the plot. I'm sorry this is so short, but I may edit later.
Always and Forever.
Those three words haunted Elena Gilbert who was staring at the letter in her hands that she secretly kept with her at all times. Ever since that fateful day in Willoughby with Elijah, she's been trying to sort out her emotions for the Noble Original with impeccable taste. She remembered the last time she saw Elijah as their first and only kiss went through her head. Since her favorite Original left, she's felt a weird pain in her chest and didn't know why. He managed to get her emotions to turn back on by kissing her. She wasn't stupid since she could see the way he looked at and how he felt about her. He's in love with her and she'd be lying if she said she didn't feel the same way about him. She always known how he felt the second she turned around in that abandoned house where Rose and Trevor had held her captive for Klaus in exchange for their freedom. Unfortunately, Trevor never got his since Elijah ripped his head from his body minutes after his arrival. Rose was furious at him, but stood down since she didn't want the same thing to happen to her. Rose left soon after. Elijah had kept close at Elena's side until Stefan and Damon got in the way and then he was daggered. Luckily, Elijah forgave Elena for every single betrayal. She never forgot the way he looked at her and how he still left things unsaid even though his indirect confession when he said that he admired her because of the traits she still has that he was reminded he had from when he was still human and how his eyes gave him away when he said he'd never fall for another Petrova Doppelganger again due to it being a mistake had told her that he clearly had feelings for her and probably still has. She hasn't heard from him since their last meeting.
Sighing, she put the note away and shook her head, but still couldn't get Elijah out of her mind. All of her memories with him-good and bad-made her feel certain emotions she'd rather ignore, but couldn't. No matter what, she was always thinking of Elijah ever since they met and couldn't control it. She didn't know what to do and put the letter down on her nightstand.
"Rebekah, I'm sorry about daggering you, but I was compelled by Damon." Elena said when the blond walked into her room.
"I thought we'd be able to be friends, but now I realize that you were trying to protect your brother and i would have done the same thing if the roles were reversed. Plus, you have a certain connection to Elijah and he trusts you and continues to even after everything, even when he shouldn't. I swear, he can't help himself when it comes to Petrova Doppelgängers. Tatia was his first love and chose him instead of Nik. I thought she'd be with him forever and Nik would find someone else, but that didn't happen because we never saw her again. Elijah compelled her to forget what we were and she did before she died. Katherine, or as my brothers call her Katerina, was nice as a human when it was really a facade that came out when she was turned. I prefer Tatia over Katherine 24/7, but you're the one who actually sticks around no matter what Nik throws at you."
"I care about Elijah and I still want to be friends with you."
"I know you care about him. I saw the way he protected you against me and how you still trust him even after he betrayed you. Luckily Nik wasn't there or he'd have a fit for 30 years."
"You think there's something between Elijah and I?" She scoffed. "After he was with Katherine, I highly doubt he'd want to see me."
"Oh, please. I know it. No one can be friends when they look at each other like that."
"You're seeing things."
"Am I?" She asked.
"Yes. Despite everything, Katherine would still make sure she's around Elijah when she's not pretending to be in love with Damon or with Stefan and Klaus would be pissed. Besides, he would continuously deny it and I'd be right back between Stefan and Damon."
"Who cares? They both deserve what's coming to them, Katherine for lying continuously and Nik for keeping us in a box for centuries. As for your bitchy and slutty doppelgänger having a hold on my brother, I highly doubt it since Elijah's been in love with you since you two met," She gave the brunette a knowing look. "He may be stubborn, but he still has feelings and it's only a matter of time before he admits it to himself and then you. He's barely had a life outside our family, the only real exception was Tatia and that was short lived. It's about damn time he's happy with someone who cares about and loves him. You two have been dancing around each other for years, Elena. I wanna know why you are if you know he's in love with you."
"Because he's already been involved with Katherine and from what Damon and Stefan told me, Tatia as well before her. I don't want to get between him and Klaus like Katherine did with Stefan and Damon. If Elijah and I ended up together, he'd be stuck in the middle of Klaus and I fighting 24/7 and I'm not doing that to him. Besides, who said I loved him?"
"You don't have to say it because I can tell. You know Elijah maybe even better than he knows himself and I know you're probably tired with Stefan and Damon pulling you in different directions. Just tell them the truth in your own time and let Elijah make you happy as much as you make him happy. He's different with you. Yes, he's still Always and Forever, but you are important to him. If you weren't, he would have killed or daggered you when he found out Esther's plan or when you were just pretending to be Katherine."
Elena sighed and looked out the window. "I already told you why I don't think it would be a good idea."
"Who cares what Nik thinks? Sure, he'd be pissed for awhile and then he'd get over it."
"I never said I cared what he thinks, I'm just saying that I don't want Elijah to feel stuck between Klaus and I whenever we argue nor feel like I'm making him choose between me and his brother, which is something I'd never do."
"That's why you're perfect for him."
Elena had a thought. "You seriously think she's prettier than me?"
"Oh, please. Katherine uses her looks to manipulate people especially my brother."
"I meant Tatia."
"Oh, I just said that in the heat of the moment because I thought you were just like your slutty counterpart, not the doppelganger before her. You all have the same face and physical features-"
"Don't remind me." Elena mumbled.
"but you aren't them. You don't manipulate people by using your charm and sexiness to get what you want and you also don't have Nik wanting you just as a challenge to Elijah." Rebekah sighed. "Listen to me. My brother has never really cared about anyone outside our family after Kol, myself and Henrik was born until he met Tatia. When Henrik died, we were all grieving, but it was worse when she died several days later. Part of him died when our youngest brother did and he was almost completely destroyed with Tatia since she was his first love. He's never really been the same since and the one thing he cares about besides our family is you. Why do you think he kept you away from Nik and kept me from hurting you when he usually lets us get whatever we want? He loves you and it scares him because he's never put anyone besides his siblings on the same level as an outsider until he met you. He's not used to it and likes to be in control, but this is out of his in a good way and he doesn't know how to handle it. He's scared of his feelings for you because accepting them means the possibility of our many enemies coming after and killing you with or without him around especially after Tatia's death. Losing you is NOT an option which is why he's keeping you at a distance to control his feelings for you so nothing happens between you two that could lead to you being used against us. Klaus and Kol, and even Elijah, piss me off and I might do something to get a rise out of my brothers because we're family, it's what we do, but we'd all unite against anything and every single threat that comes our way." She nodded and both girls went to get some food and ate before Elena's phone beeped and she answered the text. Elena left and Rebekah followed her. They went to the Grill and got out of the car. Looking around, Elena saw who sent her the text and told Rebekah that she would be fine. Rebekah walked away despite her supernatural hearing and because Elijah would be pissed if something happened to her, which is why she stayed close in case of danger while Elena was left alone with the male. "What do you want?" She asked.
Elijah went over to them before they had a chance to talk.
"How'd you find me?" Elena asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I had a feeling." He stood protectively in front of her.
"Elijah, it's okay." The doppelgänger said
"I don't trust him not to pull any stunts. Whatever he wants to say to you, he can say in front of me." He replied with a deadly calm and blank expression that matched with an emotionless tone in his voice that had a hint of a threat behind it.
"Remember those papers you suddenly got?" Silas asked.
"Yes." Elena replied, barely able to see him since her favorite Original was blocking her view of Silas to protect her.
"What papers?" Elijah asked, confused.
"Some family tree I'm supposedly part of. After I found the letter you put in my room and sat down by the window, I noticed something underneath my pillow. It was papers on my family tree from Isobel's side." She took them out of the glove compartment of her car and showed them to him. He opened the envelope and looked at it.
"Not some and definitely not supposedly." Silas said. "I guess Petrova's and my doppelgängers were never meant to be after all," He said before turning to Elijah. "and two of Elena's ancestors weren't meant for you or your brother either." Silas said.
"I don't care about Katerina, but say one more word about Tatia and I will not be as tolerable towards you." The Original said.
"It's a shame your mom took Tatia's blood. Maybe Esther will do the same to Elena. Oh wait, she already did. At least this one didn't die like the first one." Silas smirked, nodding to Elena. "Esther could have easily drained her body of blood like she did with your first love." Elijah gave Elena the papers back and grabbed him by the throat. Even the thought of Elena lying dead due to loss of blood was enough to piss him off. He was almost completely destroyed by Tatia's death, but if anything like that happened to Elena...he mentally shook his head to get rid of the haunting image. The Original usually wasn't scared of anything, but that thought horrified him just as much as losing his siblings did or maybe even more.
"Let him go. I still need answers." Elena placed a hand on his arm as her deep brown eyes looked into his and she tried to keep her jealousy in check about her two ancestors. Clearly, Tatia was enough to get a reaction out of the normally calm Noble Mikaelson. The Original felt himself instantly calm down at her touch. Knowing she's safe is enough for him. He let Silas go. "I wouldn't piss him off if I were you." Elena replied, crossing her arms. "Silas, is there anything else you can tell me about that bloodline I'm part of through the Petrova family?" Elena said, raising an eyebrow.
"Why should anyone believe anything you say?" Elijah asked Silas. "Elena is too trusting of people. I on the other hand have enough room to not trust people for the both of us."
"Because I'm telling the truth when you have other family out there besides your brother and you have a link with two of the Originals. You'll find out soon. As for Isobel's family tree, I'd recommend looking in Washington State where there are more answers. You'll feel the energy once you arrive close to their town." He replied as he looked at Elena before he left.
"You really trust him?" He asked as they drove off.
"Yes, I believe him." She looked at him before looking back at the road. She has always wanted to keep her family and friends-her extended family-safe from harm, but that was easier said than done when Stefan or Damon, mainly the latter, tried to stop her. She was so tired of them both thinking they knew what's best for her and she decided to put a stop to it, now. With that thought in mind, she told Elijah to take her to the Salvatore boarding house. "Stefan, Damon. I want to talk to you both." She said, walking inside, looking around for both of the Salvatores.
"Elena, what is it?" Stefan asked, coming downstairs with his brother behind him. Both of them were surprised she'd just walk in without knocking.
"I have decided to let you both go romantically since the stunt you pulled on Wickery bridge," she glared at Stefan before turning to Damon. "and for what you did to Caroline when she was human." She walked out of the house and left, taking advantage of their shock.
Sighing in relief, she got back in the car and went back home before she went up to her room and debated on her next move. It felt good to leave them both behind romantically, but now she was confused on what to do now. Thinking over her choices, she decided to write in her diary and grabbed it from her special hiding place before opening it to the next blank page and writing. She sighed as she thought of the recent events in her life which almost always included Elijah since they met up until now. She shook her head of the Original who she felt drawn to ever since that day he showed up to the abandoned house that Rose and Trevor had held her captive in.
Thinking over her choices, she sighed. "I think I'm going to leave town for a while and figure out what I really want." She said to herself.
"Road trip?" Rebekah suggested, smirking, from the doorway.
"Sure. Why not?" She replied before they both got ready with their vampire speed and then left in Rebekah's car. "Aren't you going to tell Klaus?"
"No. Nik's been controlling my life since I can remember, so I'm finally able to take charge once in my life." She replied, dryly.
"So where are we going?" Elena asked, curious.
"Doesn't matter. We're finally getting you away from your exes and I got money." She smirked. "You and Elijah have the same family values and you think of your friends as your extended family, which is part of the reason why he cares about you so much." She replied.
They decided to drive until they found a place they liked. Elena was thrilled to be leaving Mystic Falls for awhile. She pulled out the papers on Isobel's family tree, but she'd never heard the name one of her ancestors used nor the name of his descendants. She also found another family tree with some of the ancestors being the same. Cross examining it, she narrowed her eyes.
"What's that?"
"My birth mother's family tree and someone else's, but I've never heard of the last names some of them used."
"What names are they?"
Elena said them, but Rebekah was trying to remember if she heard of them before and couldn't.
"Not sure. Maybe Nik knows since he's never been daggered." She said, bitterly.
"I'm not going to Klaus and asking him about this when he could use it against me somehow." She replied.
"Fine. Maybe we could check the library or something." She replied, absentmindedly.
"Let's do that before we leave." Elena said before Rebekah parked in the parking lot and they got out of the car, walking in. Elena went to find the folklore section and looked through the books. Noticing that several of the books were sticking out more than the others, she pulled them out and didn't find anything until some of the books that were behind them turned visible. She pulled them out and put the others back.
Rebekah went over to her and they looked through it. "It's blank. I wish we could see what it says." She said before the words appeared on the page as if it was magic invisible ink. She went up to the desk and decided to check it out, but none of the librarians knew it was even there. Elena compelled them to let her have it and forget about what she did.
Together, the girls went out to the car and opened it again. "This is incredible." They said together.
"What's the other one?" Rebekah asked.
"I don't know." She replied, confused, before opening it. "Enchanted pages-words untold-reveal to me what you conceal." She said before the words appeared again. "What the hell?"
"I've never seen that before." Rebekah said, looking at the papers.
"Let's get on the road and look at it then." She replied looking at Rebekah before noticing the words on the page disappeared again. When she looked at it, the words appeared. She closed it and they got in the car, feeling like someone was watching them, driving off. "This is interesting. It has the same name I told you about." Rebekah drove out of town. Elena played some music on her phone. The two girls talked and laughed when they got on the highway before it was silent again. Elena looked through the other book. "I think I found something, but I've never seen it before." She said, confused.
"What is it?"
"I'm not sure, but this book is full of dark magic." Elena said before the book grew hot in her hands. Within seconds the skin of her fingers was sizzling. Her flesh adhered to the book and she couldn't pull her hands away. Her skin healed before it burned again. Realizing what was happening after getting over her shock, Rebekah grabbed the book and tied the string around it.
"What the hell was that?" Elena asked, confused.
"I've never seen that happen and Kol was a witch when we were human." She shook her head as Elena looked closer.
"Got any contacts who would know why the book reacted to me the way it did?" She asked, curiously.
"I'm not sure since witches barely trust vampires, especially us."
"Maybe we could try Washington state." She suggested. "I have a friend who lives there and haven't seen her since she left Mystic Falls."
"Agreed. Want to get something eat though?"
"Of course. Let's go to the Grill." She replied before they headed there and parked. Elena got out of the car and Rebekah followed, walking inside. They got something to eat when Elena got a text message and replied back before they ordered their food.
"You're not as bad as I originally thought." Rebekah said when their food arrived.
"Same here." Elena said before they ate and went back on the road.
The Secret Circle
That night, Cassie Blake walked away from the fireplace, thinking how much more powerful she could really be. Smirking at the possibilities, she looked through her book of shadows. She teleported to one of the places she once lived at and walked around, feeling nostalgic when she actually first learned about magic. It wasn't from Diana and the circle, but from a certain vampire/werewolf hybrid who was in Mystic Falls. Klaus and Greta taught her everything she knew after she accidentally killed someone and found Greta nearby. She helped her and introduced her to Klaus who also taught her more about her magic. The two of them made sure Cassie was able to use her powers easily and not have unanswered questions. The blond witch was amazed, but also worried and a little terrified since her mom never found out about it. Cassie eventually moved away from Mystic falls over the next couple of years, but stayed in touch with both of them. No one knew that Klaus had mentored the blond witch and he preferred for it to stay that way since he and his family had a lot of enemies.
Cassie sighed at the memories when everything was still easy due to still having her mother around at the time. Now she didn't have anyone. Her circle was split, she didn't have a boyfriend, her parents and grandmother were all dead and she was all alone with no one in Chance Harbor, which is why she went back to Mystic Falls. She walked around town and noticed nothing had changed in the years she's been gone. She didn't think being forced to move around, for what her mom believed Cassie didn't know about when Greta and Klaus told Cassie about her witch heritage before Amelia could, and into a circle she didn't want to be a part of was fair at all. She blamed Diana for most of it. Now that she didn't have the circle, she was able to perform even more powerful magic than before without the others knowing about it.
She teleported back home and got something to eat before she went to bed. Luckily, she was off for two days and had some time to herself. She went to her room, looking through her book of shadows for anything that could help her. After she didn't find anything, Cassie smirked as she used magic to change her clothes. Now wearing a black low cut shirt, black mini skirt and high heeled boots, she felt better and even dyed her hair.
She was tired of people who visited or lived in the house dying on her-Nick, Amelia and her grandmother-so she was full of anger for the death of her mom and grandmother along with her sister's choice to who leave town to chase a fucking fairytale that didn't exist almost right after Jane died and left Cassie to deal with that all on her own. She missed her mom and Jane, but they were both dead; her father was dead and that was confusing for her since he was evil, but still her dad; she was furious with almost everyone except Nick-who is also dead-and Melissa. Why did Diana get to chase a fairytale and ignore her responsibilities as a circle member when her life is falling apart and she has to stay in town? It wasn't fair. If anyone deserves to chase a fairytale and flee town because of their problems, it was her. She's lost the most out of all of them. Jake and Nick lost their parents. She did too. Jake and the circle lost Nick. She did too even though she never really know him. Faye lost a grandparent. She did as well. Cassie lost her normal life while it took Diana and the others a year to get used to it and Jake two years. It was all too much for her.
She read her book of shadows while she laid down. Sighing, she couldn't stop thinking about what happened since she moved here. She rolled over in her bed and started crying, not knowing how she could fix everything. She felt helpless and alone. She couldn't sleep, so she stayed up and wondered who would be able to replace Diana.
The circle leader went downstairs and smirked before she teleported a notebook to her and a pen. Sitting down at the kitchen table, she opened it up to the first blank page. "Find a 6th circle member, figure out everything regarding the Balcoins-who they are, if they are like Diana or Blackwell, etc-and try keeping the circle together." She said to herself as she wrote it down before she erased the last part. Instead, she wrote over it. "Have FUN this summer."
Smirking, she put the pen down and the notebook up before going to the abandoned house and practicing magic for hours before she decided to study to keep her mind off things by trying to learn as much as she could, looking through her books, class notebooks filled with notes and reviews packets for each subject she had to do. It was so boring, but a smirk appeared on her face as she got an idea.
Lost for now, soon to be found, review answers come unbound, she thought. The answers appeared instantly and she copied the answers exactly the same way as she moved her hand to make it look legitimate as possible. Smirking to herself, she finished quickly and decided to used magic on herself to remember everything on the exams so she'd definitely pass without trouble.
She also decided to keep the test answers hidden underneath her pop quiz when it was time to take it. She put everything back into her bag and felt extremely confident, so she practiced her magic some more.
The Secret Circle
Jake woke up later that day and sighed, wondering what was in that vial his grandfather left for him. Sighing, he heard Cassie on her cell phone since they were across from each other.
"Yeah, sure. I'll meet you there." She replied before going downstairs and driving off.
The oldest member of the circle wondered if Cassie was okay since the only times she really spoke to any of her fellow witches were during circle meetings. What happened to staying together even if we aren't bound?
He texted her and waited for a reply, but none came. Sighing, Jake put his phone down and shook his head before continuing to try and figure out the vial.
Secret Circle
Adam was at the boathouse in the back room, holding the crystal skull and feeling it's power flow through him as it made him stronger. Shaking his head, he got back to work and walked back to the front room of the boathouse. He took orders and sighed, wishing he could get back to the skull so he could bury it, but it would have to wait.
He wondered if Cassie would be okay by herself in that house, hoping Diana was alright since she left town with a guy they barely knew and worried about Melissa after Nick died a second time.
The Secret Circle
Cassie was practicing magic and learned a few tricks before she was asleep in her bed, tossing and turning as the same nightmares of Amelia, Nick and Jane dying flashed through her mind once again. She never had a chance to grieve for any of them since she had to move almost right after her mom died and that was before the circle took over her life almost since she moved to Chance Harbor; dealing with witch hunters, more demons and everything else, like ghost covens, her dad coming back and Kate trying to kill her, she didn't have time to grieve for Nick or Jane either. Sure, she may not have known them for very long, Nick the least between the two, but that didn't mean that she didn't care about someone she hardly knew after spending some time together since Amelia never talked about her life in this town and Nick was a loner even though he had the circle around. Losing both of his parents when he was a baby and then his brother leaving town when Jake was 17 and Nick was 15 was messed up, so it's understandable why he preferred to be alone when it wasn't related to circle business or him being involved with Melissa later on.
The circle leader tried to get comfortable, but she couldn't. It seemed almost impossible for her now that she felt more alone than before. No longer having the circle around and with almost all of her family members gone with the exception of Diana, since she didn't know Blackwell's other children, she didn't know what she would do for the rest of the summer.
The Secret Circle
Someone was watching from the shadows with an unreadable expression before walking away.
The Secret Circle
Melissa Glaser woke up at Faye's house after spending the night. She saw the girl still asleep and decided to get ready and check on Cassie after yesterday at school. She grabbed everything she needed and went to the Coffee shop, hoping the blond was there. She was, but looked very different. Cassie was wearing clothes that were more Faye's style and her hair was now black. She was talking to some unfamiliar people and that worried Melissa about her mental state.
H20: Just Add Water
An adult Emma Gilbert was still traveling with her family and headed to their next destination, which was a surprise for Emma and Elliot since Lisa had gotten a call from an acquaintance of hers and she agreed that her family needed to go there and help out if they could, but wouldn't say anything more. Neil was driving. Emma missed her friends and wished they'd stayed in contact. "I can't wait to see where we're going now."
"Relax, Em. We should be there in a couple of hours." Neil said, looking in the rearview mirror at his daughter who nodded. The family enjoyed the scenery before Emma fell asleep. She woke up as they were parked in front of the foundation of the former house that was in front of them. Emma felt the sun on her skin. She wasn't wearing her old style anymore, but kept the same color scheme of white and blue. She wore an edgy but still cute white blouse with 3/4 sleeves, dark blue skinny jeans that were also the same length, but the biggest new thing was her black high heel boots.
"What happened?" Lisa asked, shocked.
"Let's find out what's going on." Neil said before they drove off and saw a very large mansion as they passed by it.
H20: Jaw/Vampire Diaries
They all saw Elena walking out to her car in front of Rebekah's house the car stopped.
"No way." Elliot said, bouncing in his seat before Emma got out as her family took Emma's bags from the car.
"Emma!" Elena yelled and hugged her cousin. "This is a nice surprise."
"It is for me too. I'm guessing you and Jeremy were what my mom was talking about." She smiled before Jeremy came downstairs.
"I have so much to tell you." She smiled, looking at her.
"Em, we're going to be at the hotel not far from here. I thought it would be nice for you to stay with Elena and Jeremy so you can catch up and she'd have another girl around." Lisa said.
"Thanks." She hugged her family before grabbing her bags and walking inside with Elena leading her to the guest room.
"I say we have a girl's day/night out."
"Let's do it." They watched movies while talking about anything and everything, except the supernatural worlds they both unexpectedly found themselves in.
"Any boyfriends?" Elena smirked.
"Yes. At first Ash and I couldn't stand each other before we got closer and started going out. What about you?"
"Matt before we broke up after my parents died. Stefan before we broke up twice. His older brother and I just broke up recently, but I don't think I'm going back to either of them."
"You have your eyes on someone else, too much drama between the two of them or both?"
"Both."
"Ooh. Who is the other guy?"
"Ironically, it's my enemy's noble older brother who's my friend. We've known each other for a couple years. Wanna go to the Grill?" Elena asked the blond who nodded. They left together in the brunette's car before parking and walking in together. Emma looked around and instantly loved the place. They grabbed a table and sat down before hearing a voice.
"Elena!" Caroline's bubbly voice was heard and Elena turned around. "Caroline! Bonnie." She smiled at her friends who briefly looked at the blond before doing a double take due to her striking resemblance to Rebekah.
"This is Emma, my cousin from Australia." Elena smiled, laughing at their reactions.
"Sorry. We thought you were someone else."
"Klaus and Elijah's sister, Rebekah. The former is my enemy while Elijah is the brother I was telling you about."
"Klaus is going to flip his shit when he notices his sister has a doppelgänger." Bonnie said.
"If he comes back to Mystic Falls." Caroline commented.
"Good thing he's in New Orleans." Elena smirked before Emma told them about her two friends who she had to leave behind.
Elena's phone rang and she stared at it, shocked. "It's Elijah. I haven't heard from him since we saw each other in Willoughby." She walked away to answer it while Caroline and Bonnie talked to Emma, the latter sensing something unusual about the Rebekah doppelgänger. Elena came back 10 minutes later. "He's coming back to Mystic Falls."
