Chapter 4 Memories of past owner

Ricky threw back to the hideout as fast as possible. It wasn't easy since he had Snowball on his back who was currently unconscious thanks to Ricky karate chopping him. As soon as Ricky got to the lair he said the password to the snakes at the door before going inside the lair. Everybody was surprised to see that Ricky came back with Snowball. "Wake up Snowball" Ricky said as he splashed some water on Snowball. As soon as the water hit Snowball he started waking up. "Wait a minute I'm back at the lair? Why did you bring me back here and why did you karate chop me to unconsciousness?" Snowball asked angrily. "Sorry buddy but it was the only way to get you to come with me and to show you what you're missing out on" said Ricky. "Remember you started The Flushed Pets Gang because all of us were dumped by our owners including your former owner remember?"

Flashback

"Ladies and gentlemen and kids of all ages I'm gonna do some magic tricks that will amaze you!" stated the Magician as he started the show. The Magician uses sleight of hand tricks, illusions and some close up magic tricks to wow the audience. "Now everybody, I think I may have something in my hat. I thought it was empty before I put it on. Let me see what I have in my hat" The Magician said as he put his hat down on the table that was on the stage. Unknown to the audience inside of the table that was covered with a black cloth was Snowball the bunny. He was waiting under the table for when it was time for the magician who was also his owner to take him out. As soon as the magician took Snowball out of his hat people began clapping and putting tips inside of the hat. "Thank you all for coming to the show. I appreciate you all and so does my bunny Snowball. Look how cute he is' ' said the magician as everyone went awww at seeing Snowball.

This went on for a while and both the magician and Snowball were happy. "I have a great life. My owner loves me and always includes me in his show" Snowball thought to himself after his owner fed and put him to pet for the night. As time went on the magician's magic shows became less popular to a point where people would rarely come and people lost interest in the tricks including pulling a rabbit out of the hat. One day the magician decided to quit doing magic tricks and give up Snowball for adoption. Snowball was shocked when his owner dropped him off at the animal shelter and never came back for him. "I can't believe my owner would do this to me. I thought he loved me" Snowball cried one night in his cage. "That's where you're wrong bunny. They say they love us but somehow that love dies and animals end up here" said a voice Snowball didn't recognize.

Snowball wondered who that was and exclaimed, "Who's there? Show yourself!" A moment later a goose called out to Snowball, "Over here bunny rabbit. My name is Ricky and I saw your former owner dump you here. That's awful that you were left here." Snowball looked at Ricky the goose and asked him, "were you dumped by your owner too?" Ricky replied, "Not really you see I escaped from my owner's around Christmas because they were planning to have me for dinner and I don't mean as a guest. I flew the coop the first chance I got. I thought they loved me since my owners raised me from an egg. Eventually I got captured and put here. I don't trust humans and I'm thinking you, me and the other animals should bust out of here. Humans are the worst because they say they love you but it's a lie especially since we end up here"

Snowball thought about what Ricky said and came to the conclusion that Ricky was right. "You know what Ricky you're absolutely right and I'm in for busting out of here" said Snowball as he got a carrot from his food bowl and turned into a key to get himself out of the cage. Ricky was impressed with what Snowball did while the other animals were being let out of their cages and crates. A lot of the other animals were scared but then Snowball started to give a speech, "my fellow animals do you actually want to stay here thinking you'll get adopted? All humans will do is get tired of us and we'll end up back here for who knows how long. Another thing I was thinking is that we can fight against the humans and start a revolution. Who's with me?"

The animals liked Snowball's speech because they believed he made a vault point. Suddenly security guards came in and saw all of the animals out of their cages. As they tried to put them back Snowball yelled out, "ATTACK!" Which the animals did and the security guards were no match for them. Snowball, Ricky and the other animals escaped and headed for the sewers. When Snowball and the others found a perfect place for their hideout all of the animals thanked Snowball for busting them and made Snowball their leader. "What are we going to call our gang?" questioned the animals. Snowball replied, "from now on we are forever going to be known as The Flushed Pets." Everyone liked the name including Ricky who Snowball appointed as his second in command.

End of flashback

When Snowball was done reflecting he turned to look at Ricky and everybody else. "Come on Snowball you know you miss this life. Besides what if that little girl loses interest in you and decides to dump you just like the magician. Do you really want to go back to the shelter?" Ricky asked. "No Molly isn't like that, she loves me at least I hope so" Snowball said. "Yeah, just like how you believed the magician loved you. Look Snowball, we've been friends forever and I don't want to see you get hurt again. Come on for old times sake let's you, me and the flushed pets go on a mission. We can help other animals escape and who knows they can decide what they want to do with their freedom from owners that don't deserve them" Ricky pointed out.

Snowball thought about what Ricky said and told him, "I'm not gonna lie I have missed everyone here. We were like a family who looked out for each other. Maybe one mission wouldn't hurt for old times sake and I hate the idea of other animals being in the hands of owners that don't treat them right." Ricky and all of the flushed pets were happy to hear that Snowball would be joining them once again to go against the humans.
