Chapter Four: A death of a sister
"Wake up!" The voice echoed so loudly, Alessia jumped up from her sleep. Her breathing was abnormal as she looked around the tent. No one was inside but her. The sun was already in the sky as she calmed her breathing down. Standing up as she headed out of the tent. Looking around the camp. Her eyes trailed everywhere. There were dead birds all over the camp. Not birds. Bats. She frowned. There were hushed voices as Alessia looked at Moiraine who was speaking to Lan in a hushed voice. The fire had barely started. No one was on guard. Alessia's eyes then caught Moiraine's. Watching the woman in blue walk up to her. Arms reached as she touched Alessia's shoulders.
"You look as if you saw a ghost." Moiraine spoke softly. Alessia gulped as she shook her head.
"She had a nightmare." Lan spoke. Her blue eyes met Lan's dark brown ones as Moiraine touched Alessia's chin to force her to meet her eyes.
"Did you see something in your dreams?" Moiraine asked as Alessia nodded her head lightly. "What did you see? Dreams have power." She spoke. Alessia's eyes trailed around camp again. Her eyes caught Lillen's this time. 'Was it real?' She had thought. The staring between the two was intense.
"Alessia?" Moiraine asked as Alessia's attention snapped back to the blue ajah.
"I..I dreamt of the camp. I was alone in it." Alessia started to speak as Lan held his hand up.
"Not here." He spoke. They looked around the camp as all eyes were watching them. As if something was amiss.
"Let's get this place cleaned up." Moiraine spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear. The man in the cage passed out. Alanna had a shield on him. Alessia began to help clean the camp up with the others as she felt her hand grabbed and led away from the camp. Following down a pathway that leads away by the river. There was a waterfall nearby that drowned out their sound.
"Tell me. What did you dream about?" Moiraine then asked. Alessia nodded her head again lightly. Her eyes watching Moiraine's blue ones.
"I came into the camp. The bats fell dead in mid air all around." Alessia spoke.
"Did you see anyone?" Moiraine asked.
"There was a man. Eyes like embers." Alessia replied.
"Did he speak to you? Say anything?" Moiraine asked as well.
"Moghedien. Was all he said. Then there was a shadow of spiders crawling all over the ground towards him. That was all I saw." Alessia spoke. For some reason she kept Lillen out of her dream. She was afraid to say anything else.
"Why would he say a Forsaken's name?" Lan asked.
"What's a Forsaken?" Alessia asked while looking at Moiraine.
"A Forsaken is also known as a Chosen. Thousands of years ago when the Dark One was rising, he chose thirteen strongest of his followers who were supposed to live forever and rule the world for him. They lead armies in the War of Power. The one you heard is known as Spider in common tongue." Moiraine explained.
"But why would he say that in my dream?" Alessia asked while frowning still.
"I do not know. Maybe she has some sort of connection with you that we do not know of. But if the Dark One is appearing in your dreams then they must have been born again into this world." Moiraine added as Lan was looking around. Making sure they weren't overheard.
"Born again?" Alessia asked. She didn't understand.
"A long time ago, they were sealed away with the Dark One. Then a male Dragon Reborn broke a seal that wasn't fully done and released his strongest lieutenant. In the Last Battle, all the Forsaken were killed. Because they no longer had access to the Dark One's power, they were reborn. This is much worse than I thought." Moiraine spoke.
"I still don't understand, Moiraine." Alessia spoke while looking at her feet.
"When you become a Novice at the Tower, you will have history lessons about them." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded her head. She understood what Moiraine was saying, what she did not understand was how they would return now of all time.
"We should head back to camp." Lan spoke.
Moiraine took the lead back to camp as most of the dead bats were taken care of. It seemed quicker for the Aes Sedai to burn the bats instead of gathering them all up. It was smart. Though, the smell of the dead animals was strong in the air.
"We move out after breakfast." Alanna shouted as she was shielding the man.
"I know you have much to learn, but if you would like. I want to teach you some things. Weaves." Moiraine spoke. This made Alessia smile as she nodded her head quickly.
"Yes! I would love that." She spoke. This also seemed to have made Moiraine smile. "I need a bath." Alessia then spoke. Hearing a soft chuckle as Moiraine nodded her head.
"Go ahead and wash up. You can eat along the way." Moiraine spoke as Alessia bowed to her before turning on her heels. She went back into the camp and grabbed a change of clothes and a sponge and soap from her bag. Taking her leave from the tent as her eyes caught Lanfear, Liandrin, and Lillen were all three speaking together in a hushed voice. They stopped as they spotted Alessia walking past them. Her eyes caught the light blue ones.
"Going somewhere?" Liandrin asked.
"I uh. To bathe." She spoke before she turned away and quickly left. Going back down the path way from earlier. She stopped by a deeper end of the small river as she began to undress. Constantly looking around to make sure she was alone. She slowly went into the water and gasped. It was cold! Holding onto the sponge and soap tightly. Bending her knees as she swam a little in the water. Ducking her head under to wet her hair. She felt relaxed as she closed her eyes. Listening to the river as the current was pushing against her. It was not strong enough as she planted her feet in the bottom.
"You seemed relaxed." A voice spoke as her eyes opened. She looked up and saw Liandrin in the water as well. She blushed when she saw the woman naked and turned to look away. Giving the woman privacy.
"You're alright?" Liandrin asked as Alessia nodded her head quickly. Her cheeks burning as her back was towards the woman. "Hmm?" She asked as Alessia saw the woman move in front of her now.
"Yes." Was all she could say. Her arms were crossing over her chest.
"You know. That day. We all got a taste of how strong you are." Liandrin was starting a conversation. Alessia just stayed right where she was. "You knocked us out for a good moment. There are many of us who are strong, but you." The woman spoke as she touched Alessia's cheek with a single finger. Tracing it down her jawline. She could feel her heartbeat rather fast. Something was clawing at her sides. She had no idea what she was feeling and it was new to her.
"Why didn't you take me then? Four years ago?" Alessia asked.
"Because we could not sense the Power inside of you at the time." A new voice spoke. Alessia looked over and saw Lillen smirking at her. Her cheeks were now so red, it was starting to hurt. Lillen was fully dressed but she slowly walked towards the edge of the river and sat down on a rock.
"You alright? You are red as a rose." Liandrin spoke.
"I came to bathe in private." Alessia spoke softly.
"Never seen a naked woman before?" Liandrin asked. 'Oh she's teasing!' Alessia thought as she shook her head. "Very well, we shall leave you to it then." Liandrin gave her a small smile with a wink before she turned and left the water. Alessia quickly turned again. The woman in red grabbed a towel and left. Lillen followed her. Alessia slowly sunk into the water. Letting the sound drown out. She used the soap to wash her hair and then her body rather quickly. She finished quickly and grabbed her towel, wrapping it around her as she grabbed her clothes and quickly made her way back to the tent.
"You alright?" Moiraine's voice made her jump as she nodded. She waved her hand for the woman in blue to turn around. She did. Alessia quickly dried and dressed. Putting her boots on last. Feeling the water from her hair moved as she looked up. Moiraine was weaving. She could feel the power around her head before it disappeared.
"That was cool!" Alessia spoke with a smile.
"You are trusting us now?" Moiraine asked in a teasing tone. Alessia only smiled slightly at this before packing her things up. The blue tent was the last one taken down. She helped Lan pack it up. Seeing all the sisters now mounted up. Her eyes caught Lillen's who made a motion with her hand. Wanting Alessia to ride with her.
"Alessia." Moiraine's voice spoke as she turned and took Moiraine's hand. Mounting the woman in blue's horse.
"How far are we from the White Tower?" Alessia asked.
"Are you eager to learn?" Liandrin's voice came as she rode her horse past them.
"Three months. Longer if the man keeps pushing us." Moiraine spoke.
"That's a long time." Alessia spoke softly. Hearing a chuckle from Moiraine.
"You get used to it once you become an Aes Sedai. Even Accepteds go out as well with their sisters on tasks. Hopefully by the time we reach Tar Valon, you should have learned by then as well as many weaves. Your first lesson will be tonight with Alanna Sedai and I." Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded her head. Knowing Moiraine felt it. Feeling the horses pick up their pace made Alessia instinctively wrap her arms around Moiraine's middle. To keep her from falling off.
"I want to know more about what you told me earlier." Alessia spoke against the wind.
"And you shall. In the meantime I want you focused on what we will teach you along the way." Moiraine spoke. Alessia felt a pair of eyes on her. She looked over her shoulder and sure enough, it was Lillen. Her brown eyes watching her. There was a hint of protectiveness in them. She looked back to the front as Moiraine and Lan were speaking to each other. The sun was setting as they rode for hours. Alessia was getting tired from the riding. Knowing she needed to get used to it sooner than later. They cross fields and small towns and villages as they enter another forest. This one was thicker and more lush green. The horses slowed down as Alessia looked over to the cage. He seemed to be focused on something as he was watching the sky.
"We camp here." Alanna shouted as the horses came to a complete stop. Alessia saw Lan offer his hand as she took it. Dismounting the horse. For once, she didn't stagger. She smiled and gave him a nod of her head. He offered his hand to Moiraine as she watched the woman in blue dismount the horse. Alessia however had her mind on something else. Watching the man taken to a cave nearby by the reds. She stopped outside and waited. Constantly looking over her shoulder. Making sure she wasn't followed. She hid once the sisters had left. Alessia went inside and saw the man mumbling nonsense. As if he lost his mind. She was circling the cage. Alanna was shielding him.
"Why are you here Alessia?" Alanna asked. Her eyes met the brown ones before looking at the man.
"Sister Alanna, I am here to relieve you." Liandrin spoke as she entered the cave. Seeing Alessia before weaving. Setting a shield on the man as Alanna sighed in relief.
"Come Alessia. You have a lesson." Alanna spoke.
"One minute please?" Alessia asked. Alanna nodded before taking her leave.
"Make it quick." She heard the green ajah speak. Her eyes went back to the man who was looking at her.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Logan Ablar. Yours?" Logain spoke.
"Alessia. But you already knew that." She spoke as he nodded.
"Yes. You never answered my question. How does it feel to have all that power?" Logain asked.
"What does he mean?" Liandrin asked.
"I have no idea what you are talking about." Alessia spoke. She turned away from the man and walked away. Brushing past the red ajah before taking her leave from the cave.
The camp was silent as the warders were watching as they were circling around the area. Alessia saw the green tent and had a feeling that is where she needed to go. She slowly walked over. Being easy on her leg as she entered.
"Ah, there you are." Alanna spoke as Moiraine was smiling. Eating a strawberry. Alessia sat down on a green pillow. There was a candle on the ground.
"Light the candle." Moiraine spoke. Alessia raised a brow.
"It only comes when I am angry or feeling fear." Alessia spoke softly.
"You have to surrender to the Power. Think of it as a flower that is a bud. Pink and supple. Ready to be plucked and blossomed." Alanna spoke. Alessia closed her eyes and inhaled a deep breath before relaxing. She felt nothing and everything at once. Surrendering, or at least felt like she was.
"Now. Grab the heat from the other candle." Alanna spoke. Alessia's eyes opened as she began to channel. Feeling it come easy to her as she slowly pulled from the candle nearby.
"Now, weave it with your other hand." Moiraine spoke as she gently took Alessia's hands and moved them. Showing her how to weave. "Once you weave the threads, move it towards the candle." Moiraine added. So she did. Setting the wick on fire. She gasped and smiled at it.
"This was only the beginning." Alanna spoke as she was smiling before eating an apple.
"She saw the weave once." Moiraine spoke while looking at Alanna.
"Where did you find her?" Alanna asked.
"Many years ago." Moiraine replied.
"Wait, is she the one we lost track of?" Alanna asked while looking between the two of them.
"She is." Moiraine was smiling now. Alessia wasn't sure how she felt about this.
"Go get something to eat and get some rest." Moiraine spoke. Alessia nodded and stood up. Giving the two sisters a bow before taking her leave from the tent. She felt eyes on her again and she knew who they belonged to. Her own were traveling the camp as Lan came up to her.
"Walk with me. Let's get some firewood." He spoke. She nodded and followed Lan. Her eyes caught the brown ones again before they disappeared from sight of the camp.
"You don't seem to be talking much." Lan spoke as he was picking up some wood for the fire. Alessia was doing the same thing.
"There isn't much to talk about. I want to learn." She spoke.
"I see." Lan spoke.
"Where did the Trollocs go?" Alessia asked as Lan looked at her.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Well, they were following us, remember? Now they aren't." She spoke. Her arms were now full of wood.
"Could be because we are near Shadar Logoth." Lan spoke. She felt goosebumps rise up on her arms from this.
"Why did that give me the chills?" Alessia asked with a frown.
"Perhaps because many still believe that the city is cursed. Even though it was cleansed many years ago." Lan spoke. "Much death happened in the city. Still no one lives there from fear." He added.
"I see." Alessia spoke. Lan nodded and motioned his head as they made their way back to the camp. Setting the wood down as she was handed a plate of food from Tarna who winked at her.
"Walk with me?" Tarna asked as Alessia nodded. Holding her plate as she followed the red to the side of the camp.
"That one seems to have her eyes on you." Tarna spoke as Alessia looked behind her. Sure enough, Lillen was watching her. "I wanted to talk to you about something." Tarna added as Alessia looked back.
"What is it?" She asked. Watching the red ajah.
"Liandrin is gathering opinions on a certain matter." Tarna began.
"And my opinion counts?" Alessia asked.
"You are part of us now. Whether you like it or not." Tarna spoke as Alessia raised a brow.
"So, what is it?" Alessia asked again.
"She wants to gentle Logain." Tarna spoke.
"What does that mean?" Alessia asked as she was eating her food. Listening closely to the red.
"It means to take away his power so he won't hurt others anymore." Tarna spoke. Alessia shrugged her shoulders.
"Do it. He killed innocents. If I knew how, I would do it." Alessia spoke as the woman in red chuckled lightly.
"Her faith was not misplaced in you. That's for sure." Tarna spoke as Alessia raised a brow at this. "She likes you. You know. Spoke about how a young girl knocked her and two others off her feet that day." The woman spoke as she finished her food.
"I don't know. Why like someone if they knock you off your feet?" Alessia asked.
"Well, you're strong. All the sisters are watching you now. Especially once we get to the White Tower. You're going to sign your name and begin training." Tarna spoke.
"Sounds like my life is already planned out." Alessia spoke.
"There is more to the Tower than just classes, cleaning, and whatnot." Tarna spoke.
"Why are they still here?" Alessia asked as she nodded towards the scientist ajahs.
"Because of you. They are monitoring you." Tarna spoke as Alessia shook her head and sighed a little.
"I'm going to bed. Maybe you could show me how to shield tomorrow?" Alessia asked as Tarna gave her a smirk before taking her leave.
She was now sitting on her bed reading a book that was given to her by an Ogier. Hearing the tent door open and close as Alessia looked up. Seeing Moiraine enter and change into nightwear. She looked down to give the woman privacy.
"There is talk about staying tomorrow." Moiraine spoke.
"How come?" Alessia asked. Closing the book to set it aside.
"Lan said he spotted bandits or something not far." Moiraine replied.
"I thought bandits were outlawed years ago?" Alessia asked.
"You really think people are all always going to follow the laws and rules?" Moiraine asked with a raised brow at her.
"True." Alessia spoke as she shivered a little even though she was bundled up in the blanket and cloak.
"Come. Share my bed." Moiraine spoke.
"Uh." Was all Alessia said. It was an odd thing to say. She had never shared a bed with anyone before. Not even as a child. She was still not used to being touched either. Watching the woman in blue stand up and walk over to her.
"Scoot over." She was told as did so. Feeling the bed shift as Moiraine laid down. Making herself comfortable.
"I uh." Was still all she could say. The blue eyes watching her.
"It's alright. You are safe." Moiraine spoke. Alessia nodded and laid down. Feeling an arm resting across her middle. For some reason, it felt comforting.
"What's on your mind?" Moiraine asked. Alessia tilted her head to the side.
"There is talk around camp about me." Alessia replied.
"Ah yes. You are a hot topic. You will be for a while. Even once you arrive at the Tower." Moiraine replied back softly. As if only she could hear the woman. After all, she was speaking right into her ear.
"Am I to become a Novice as soon as we arrive?" Alessia asked.
"No. Not yet. You will be but there is somewhere I have to go. I need to bring you with me. Until then, stay close." Moiraine instructed.
"Why?" She asked.
"You ask a lot of questions." Moiraine spoke.
"I'm sorry." Alessia said back. Frowning a slight bit at this. She just wanted to know about things. To learn. Being here was a big chance for her to learn everything she could.
"Don't be. Question everything." Moiraine spoke. Alessia nodded her head.
"Why do you think I am the Dragon?" Alessia asked.
"I am not sure. You're strong and the timing for everything seems too coincidental." Moiraine spoke. "Enough questions. You may also not be the Dragon. Rest now. We have a long day tomorrow." Moiraine spoke. Alessia nodded her head and turned onto her side. Facing away from the woman in blue. Her arm was still around Alessia as she was listening to the blue ajah's breathing. She was having a hard time falling asleep after the nightmare she had. So, she listened. To the others talking in the camp. There were many of them whispering. Hoping to not be heard as she felt her eyes slowly becoming heavy now. Finally drifting off to sleep.
Feeling her shoulder shaken by a pair of hands as she mumbled. Rubbing her eyes as she sat up. Seeing Tarna smiling at her.
"Up you get, you lazy lump! I want to get started." The red ajah spoke as Alessia smiled. Jumping out of bed as she quickly grabs a change of clothes. Tarna had left to stand by the entrance as Alessia put the blue cloak on. Tying her boots before nearly bouncing out of the tent.
"I'm ready!" Alessia spoke as Tarna nearly jumped.
"Come along." Tarna spoke as Alessia nodded. Skipping breakfast as she followed the red.
"Where are you going?" Moiraine asked as she stepped in front of Alessia.
"I'm going to teach her something." Tarna spoke as she gently pulled Alessia to the side and out of the way.
"She's not ready." Moiraine spoke. Crossing her arms.
"Sister Moiraine. It's time." Liandrin spoke.
"Time?" Alessia asked.
"Her and Kerene are shielding him as I ask questions." Moiraine spoke.
"It takes two to shield him now?" Tarna asked with a frown.
"Unfortunately, yes." Moiraine spoke. Her eyes now look into Alessia's. "You need to stay close." The older woman spoke.
"She won't be far." Tarna spoke as she pulled Alessia by her arm again. Watching the woman in blue take her leave down the path towards the cave. Alessia turned and followed the red ajah. She was starting to like her.
"Now, I won't teach you to shield someone but to shield yourself from attacks." Tarna spoke as Alessia nodded her head.
"Sounds easy." Alessia spoke as Tarna shook her head.
"No. Not everyone can do it. What I am going to teach you is called shield of air. It should be easier for you to do since air is easy for women to use. Basically you create a wall of hardened air in front of you and if you get better, you can create a dome around you and others." Tarna explained as she began to weave. Alessia watched Tarna weave once as a shimmer of air was seen.
"How is it that I can see it?" Alessia asked.
"Women can see each other weaves. Men, however, cannot." Tarna explained. Alessia nodded. "Now, you try." The red spoke. Alessia nodded. Calling the Power to her easily as she weaved just as she was shown. Seeing the transparent of the weave color around her arms as she casted up the weave. Hearing a whoosh of fire as Tarna was throwing fire at her!
"What are you doing?!" She shouted.
"Testing your shield. It's strong." Tarna spoke. Alessia felt her energy drained rather fast and felt the weave fall. Tarna saw and stopped.
"Ah. Not used to using the Power?" She asked as Alessia shook her head. Feeling the red touch her shoulder.
"By the Light she is creepy." Tarna whispered. Alessia looked up and followed the line of sight and saw Lillen watching them.
"I think she's just curious about what we are doing." Alessia whispered back. In fact, she was avoiding Lillen. Ever since the dream. She didn't know if it was real or not. Seeing Lillen disappear from their sight.
"People at the Tower don't like her." Tarna added.
"Why?" Alessia asked.
"She's weird. A little out of it as well." Tarna spoke. For some reason this made her upset. She barely even knew the woman at all.
"She came after me when I was younger. With Liandrin and Lanfear." Alessia spoke.
"I know. Liandrin talks about you a lot." Tarna spoke as Alessia raised a brow. Wondering why an Aes Sedai would talk about her, let alone take an interest in her.
"That's enough for today. Let's head back." Tarna spoke as they finished another round of the shield. She nodded and followed the red back.
"Did you hear that?" Alessia asked as she stopped. Looking around in the camp before back into the forest. She heard movement of feet not far.
"What is it?" The red asked as Alessia shook her head. She went back to following Tarna back into the camp to get some breakfast. Hearing hurried footsteps as Alessia looked over her shoulder as the warders were running.
"We are under attack!" Lan shouted as Alessia felt her fear rise as she looked at Tarna. The red ajah grabbed the collar of her cloak and dragged her. Hearing a whistle of the air as Alessia stopped. Looking up to see a volley of arrows in the air.
"Think by now that arrows are useless?" Lanfear asked as She weaved. Alessia watched the arrows burst into flames and disappear before they fell on them.
"Nice one sister Lanfear!" Tarna spoke as she was smiling. Several men shouted as they came into the camp.
"Alessia, run!" Tarna shouted. She didn't need to be told twice as she nodded and turned her heels. Running away from the sight. Lan was not far behind her.
"This way!" He shouted. Feeling the ground shake as explosions were heard not far.
"What's happening?!" Alessia asked through a shout.
"Logain's army is here! They want to rescue him." Lan replied.
"But why? He killed innocent people!" Alessia shouted. Feeling her leg hurting from all the running now. She then tripped. Hitting the ground hard.
"By the Light!" Alessia shouted. Looking at her leg with anger. Seeing a few men running at her with raised weapons. She shielded her face with her arms. Then she felt warm liquid splatter everywhere. Looking up, the men were gone. Blood was seen everywhere. She looked behind her as she was standing up. Lillen was weaving from a nearby tree. There was an evil smile on her face. For some reason, there were goosebumps rising on her arms.
"My love." A tug came from her chest as a voice echoed as she looked around. Wondering where it came from. Panting as she looked back again. Feeling Lan grab her arm. He was leading her away from the area.
"We need to get to the cave." Lan shouted. Alessia nodded. Her eyes were still on Lillen who was now looking at her. "Come on!" Lan shouted. Alessia nodded and began to run again. Following Lan. Lillen was close behind her as well. She was basically hopping by the time they reached the cave. The pain was searing her leg as she was catching her breath. Seeing Moiraine and Liandrin standing up. Kerene was on the floor nearby.
"No!" Alessia shouted. Feeling a blast of energy as she weaved. Creating a wall of shield between her and Logain who was laughing like a maniac now. Sending fire at her.
"You are strong." He laughed. She screamed and moved her hands. Watching a web of a shield fall on him. Not knowing how she was doing it. Anger was the only thing she was feeling at the moment.
"Link with me! Now!" Liandrin shouted. Alessia heard more footsteps in the cave now.
"Let the hand of the Tower fall upon you Logain Ablar, and take back that which nature itself does not wish you to hold!" Liandrin shouted. Alessia saw all the sisters move in unison as Liandrin yanked her arm down. Seeing the man shout in pain. Alessia assumed the Power was being ripped from him. Watching him fall to the ground.
"You can drop your weave now, Alessia." Liandrin spoke as Alessia nodded. Catching her breath again as she looked around.
"What happened?" Tarna asked as she was helping others onto their feet.
"He killed Kerene. He broke out of the shield and killed her." Liandrin spoke. It sounded like she choked on her words. Alessia frowned at this. She could sense the pain in the air between the sisters.
"Chain him." Alanna spoke as the warders came with chains. To put him back into his cage. Alessia felt a pair of gentle hands grab her arm. Looking at who they belonged to. Moiraine. Who led her out of the cave. Hearing whispers as they left. Eyes upon her as well.
"How did you do that?" Moiraine asked as Alessia was now sitting on the bed she was using.
"I do not know. It just came to me." Alessia spoke as she frowned a little.
"Did Tarna show you how to do it?" Moiraine asked.
"No. She taught me how to use a shield of air. Not to shield someone." Alessia spoke.
"You are telling me you used a weave that you did not know?" Moiraine asked. Alessia nodded her head. "Tell no one." The woman in blue added. She frowned. Wondering why Moiraine wanted her to keep the extent of her power quiet.
"We need to leave." Alanna spoke as she popped her head into the tent. It seemed she was crying.
"Let our sisters mourn." Moiraine spoke. Alanna nodded and came into the tent. Sitting down on Moiraine's bed. Alessia took her leave. Not wanting to be a bother. She was outside looking around. She found Lan dragging a body across the camp. She walked over to help.
"You should be resting." Lan spoke. Alessia shook her head. She needed to help. To keep her mind distracted after what had happened. "How did you do that?" Lan asked as Alessia shrugged.
"I do not know. Moiraine said not to mention it." Alessia spoke as she placed a finger to her lips. Lan nodded. Alessia looked up to the tree line. Seeing Lillen watching her again. She stared right back at the older woman. For some reason she wanted to run up to the woman and hug her. 'Why?' She asked herself before going back to helping Lan take care of the bodies. Seeing the other warders digging into the ground for those to be buried. Alanna had come out of the blue tent and went to her own tent. Alessia's eyes left the older woman in black and white.
"Go to her. I will finish here." Lan spoke. Alessia nodded her head. She wiped her forehead and sighed. Limping back to the blue tent.
"Moiraine?" Alessia asked softly. Going inside the tent. Moiraine was sitting down in silence. It seemed she wrote a letter and was now staring blankly at the wall. Alessia gently touched the older woman's shoulder. Both blue eyes met each other.
"Everything alright?" Moiraine asked.
"I should be the one asking you that." Alessia frowned.
"Right." Moiraine said. It was the last thing she said. Laying down on her bed and taking Alessia's hand into her own. Pulling her onto the bed.
"Moiraine, what are you?" Alessia asked as she was silenced. She didn't need an answer. She laid down next to Moiraine. It seemed the woman wanted comfort. They had, after all, just lost a sister from a mad man.
