Memories of the past/Flashbacks

Naruto woke up and frowned when he saw the sun rays in his apartment. He was still tired from yesterday and because of that, he turned away from the sun rays and closed his eyes again. He wouldn't go to school today anyway because he would simply train later and besides that he would do nothing much. His only important mission right now was to become stronger so he could defend himself against every enemy that would come his way.

His trip into the world of dreams was successful faster than one could imagine. His breathing became heavier and slower, indicating that he was really sleeping. Someone appeared out of nowhere beside him and watched his sleeping body. His face was pretty neutral and showed nothing if he was disappointed or if he was happy. He simply looked normal for someone who slept.

"Hey Jiraiya," said Naruto while he walked beside him. He was travelling with Jiraiya at the moment through the land of fire towards a little village where an informant from Jiraiya was waiting for the both of them. Both of them were on a one-year training trip. Satsuki Uchiha had left the village 1 month ago and even when Naruto fought her in the valley of the end and even won in the end, Kabuto Yakushi appeared and took Satsuki before Naruto could get to her unconscious body to take her back to Konoha.

He was wearing his Chunin outfit while Jiraiya was wearing the same outfit as ever. "Hmm? What's wrong, Naruto?" asked Jiraiya.

"I have some problems with the seal I am learning right now. How is it even possible to summon such an entity or seal it away? I know I am still in the early stages of my sealing training, but it doesn't make sense. The way you seal or summon an entity with this special seal isn't like any other sealing Jutsu I saw so far," said Naruto while he held a book with one hand. It was a little book from his dead father. It looked like a normal little book with a brown cover without any title.

Jiraiya looked at the seal Naruto was studying right now. He got wide eyes and took the book from Naruto's hands. "Where did you find this page?" asked Jiraiya. He went through this book at least 60 times after his former student died in the fight against the Kyūbi (Nine-Tailes). He would recognize this seal over and over again. This was the cursed seal the Uzumaki clan made with an entity so strong that it could deal with anything but in exchange the user would lose his soul. It was a forbidden SS-Rank Fūinjutsu (Sealing Jutsu) even forbidden in the Uzumaki Clan before their clan was almost extinguished in the second ninja war. Jiraiya never knew how his student got his hands on this Jutsu. He didn't even know he could do it until he heard from his Sensei that Minato Namikaze used this special seal to seal the Kyūbi into his own son.

"I simply went through the book page after page like you told me. This was simply the next page in the book after some time and I am stuck there. I simply don't get the principal down on how this even works. The description has so many controversies and paradoxes that it's not even funny anymore," explained Naruto while he looked forward.

Jiraiya couldn't believe his eyes, when he saw the page at first. The language that it was written in was… not readable for him. He didn't know what to say. He recognized the seal because of the picture that was from the seal. The description from the seal itself was unreadable for him. He looked at Naruto and said, "Wait a moment, Naruto."

Naruto stopped when his master told him to wait for a moment. He looked confused at his master when Jiraiya held the book towards Naruto. "You can read this?" asked Jiraiya with a serious expression.

"Uhm… yeah? Why? Shouldn't I be able to read this?" asked Naruto.

Jiraiya turned the book towards himself and looked at the pages and after that towards Naruto again. He remembered the prophecy he got from the wise old toad that already lived longer than any other living being on this planet except a few entities.

…

"Nothing, here." Jiraia handed over the book again and said, "You should skip this seal. I don't know how it's possible, but this seal is for master and not for beginners. When you are more advanced and has a deeper understanding for seals in general, then you can try yourself on this specific seal again."

Naruto looked at the closed book in his hand and shrugged with his shoulders. "Alright, I trust your judgment, Jiraiya." He placed the book back into his backpack and began walking with Jiraiya again.

Naruto's eyes opened when his dream ended. He looked at his ceiling and had a blank look on his face. It was almost as if he was proceeding with what happened and thought about it intensely. His eyes were unfocused, and his entire body was relaxed.

'So, it begins…' thought Naruto. He had the first hint at what would come in the future for him. The beginning of his long journey to be a full fledged Uzumaki. The first step towards his goal. The first step towards his mother. He would continue the legacy and he would break the chains of fate that bound the Uzumaki Clan to this awful fate.

His eyes became focused again when he blinked a few times. He raised himself into a sitting position and stood up afterwards. He stretched once and went into his kitchen, beginning to cook himself something. He wasn't a good cook, not even in the slightest. But slicing some meat and some vegetables, throwing them into a pan and cooking them a bit was even for him possible.

After he had eaten, he was putting the dishes away while the doorbell rang. Naruto placed the last dish into the right place before he went towards his apartment door. He opened it and raised a eyebrow, when Vali was in front of his apartment.

"Is something?" asked Naruto.

"Why aren't you in school?" asked Vali.

"I have better things to do than to study meaningless things. I am most likely the last living member from my Clan and that means I have to get stronger as fast as possible. Instead of coming to school, I would rather train to get stronger," said Naruto. "Everything else? I have things to do. Our meeting is in 2 days and before that we agreed to have as minimum contact as possible."

Vali looked at him and saw the blank expression on his face. It was still unusual to see someone so unfaced in her presence. She had to get used to that. Not that it would bother her… the difference was the thing actually. It was more pleasant than the shocked looks from other students or their meaningless talking about how cool she was.

"Rias would like you to come to school every day from now on," said Vali.

"Not going to happen," said Naruto instantly. "Something else? I want to train."

"Nothing more. We see us, Uzumaki."

"Yeah."

Vali walked away and Naruto closed the door, sighing in annoyance. He knew that Rias Gremory couldn't hold still. It wasn't even one day, and she had already tried to manipulate him. Simply annoying and nothing more. She knew he wouldn't listen to her or the other members of the 4 queens. The only one who talked more than 4 sentences normally with Naruto was Vali or Koneko.

It was foreseeable that she would send Vali and not someone else. She watched him over the last 2 years after all. She had the best understanding of his personality and how to talk with him. She simply matched better with him to negotiate or talk than the other members from the club right now.

Naruto dressed himself into a black/orange training outfit before he took a bottle of water, the keys, his phone and left the apartment. He locked the door behind himself and walked away towards the forest where he could train in peace without getting disturbed by the devils from the Gremory Clan.

He began to run since he could train even on the way to the forest he had intended to went. Running was surprisingly refreshing. He simply concentrated on his breath, his body and the gentle breeze that blew into his face.

After 2 hours running to the park and began training in the park, the entire scenario around Naruto changed. He was currently in a handstand before he noticed how the sky changed and a barrier was put up around him. Pitch black feathers flowed down from the sky. This black wasn't a normal black, it was a black as the endless darkness. He let himself fall forward and stood up at the same time. He took a deep breath and looked up because Satsuki was slowly coming towards the ground with her multiple wings.

"Satsuki."

"Naruto. I saw how the white dragon empress came to your door 2 hours ago," said Satsuki.

"And?" asked Naruto while he took his bottle of water and drank something from it. "Why are you still here anyway? You confirmed my existence, and I am not the Naruto from your past life. So you don't have any reason to still be here."

"I just make sure that you won't die and that you won't join the side of the devils. You are too important for this world," said Satsuki.

„I don't join any side; I can tell you as much. Since you will ask me this next question anyway… no I will not join the peerage from Rias Gremory. I have some depts to pay off since she saved me from dying when she reincarnated me into a devil. We have an agreement to work together from time to time where I will learn how to use magic and other things from the devils, and I will help them when the time comes." He took another sip from his water bottle and looked towards the sun, away from Satsuki.

"What else?" asked Satsuki.

Naruto took the bottle of water away from his lips and he looked towards Satsuki. He raised an eyebrow. "You don't believe I would simply tell you everything, right? I didn't tell the white dragon empress something about you and vise versa. I am not on either side, Satsuki. When you want something, ask the devil yourself. You should be strong enough when you are as strong as Intetsu implied."

Satsuki frowned and narrowed her eyes at Naruto. He simply looked towards the sun, ignoring the light angry glare she gave him right now. "When you don't have something else to do, then please leave. I want to continue training."

Satsuki began to smirk a bit. "If that's the case, how about we train a bit together? I would gladly show you a few things," said Satsuki. She understood right away that this wasn't her Naruto. It simply couldn't be. Her Naruto and the Naruto in front of her were light day and night. Her Naruto would never act like this. But he had the memories from her Naruto and that meant something. She saw some special emotions he had in his eyes when he remembered her, when she showed him the chidori. He certainly felt something from the past when she showed him her chidori. Even when it wasn't the original form since she used holy lightning for her chidori in this world and not chakra.

Naruto looked at her, a bit surprised. "As long as you don't wreck me to the point where I couldn't stand anymore, why not." He placed the bottle of water on the ground, and he walked a bit away from her, facing Satsuki. Satsuki took her Kusanagi with sheath from her backside and let it vanish in a golden light. She couldn't suppress her smirk a bit when she thought about how she would wreck the dope after all this time again. In the end she was the one who lost everything because she wouldn't understand his feelings and the feelings of the others. She wouldn't repeat the mistake but… a bit revanche because she lost their last big fight would be sufficient.

Both charged at each other and disappeared for a second before both appeared in front of each other. Satsuki blocked a direct punch and countered with her own, matching Naruto's speed. Naruto blocked the punch, feeling the strong force behind the punch. Just this casual punch from Satsuki let Naruto slit back a few meters. He looked at his numb arm for a few seconds and simply shook him a bit to wake him up again. His pain tolerance was very high, even when his arm was numb from the sheer force of Satsuki's punch, he didn't react like someone mind think.

'She really is far superior to me. I bet she held back and if she would punch me with full force, then my life would end very soon,' thought Naruto. After he got a feeling in his arm again, he went into a basic stance and made a -come here- gesture with his right hand.

Satsuki was a bit surprised when she was honest. Even when she hit him with too much force (she realized this after Naruto slid back several meters after just one punch), he didn't show a reaction to it. Her smirk came back a bit when she thought about it. She thought about letting nostalgia take over a bit and went into a very mesmerizing stance. Her right hand was behind her back and her front hand was in front of her, open and directed towards Naruto. She would see if this triggered other memories from the past life.

Naruto didn't know why but he thought he knew this stance from somewhere. Was it from one of his fights?

…

No, it wasn't. He was sure about it, since then he would know the stance. He tried to remember this stance, but he couldn't right now. He simply rushed in, seeing that Satsuki wouldn't make the first move.

Naruto and Satsuki began a wild close combat fight, where Naruto tried to hit Satsuki with anything he knew but she was just too strong and too fast. He knew he would never have a chance right now, even when he would use the most secret techniques from his arsenal he knew. Well… the secret techniques from all those martial arts he knew after all his fights. Those wouldn't help him, so he stayed by the normal movements, attacks and counters.

After 2 minutes from this, Naruto had to hold his arms up in a cross formation, to block a kick from Satsuki. Naruto slid back a few meters again and felt that she put a bit more power into her kick this time. She had turned her power down after she realized that she used too much force in her first punch.

Naruto took his arms down and went into a basic stance from Kung-Fu. He would wait this time, since he knew already, she wouldn't wait this time around. He could tell it by her eyes and her posture. She wouldn't let him get away so simply. He already understood the fighting style she used, every aspect of it.

'3…2…1!' thought Naruto and placed his feet a bit to the right when Satsuki vanished for a brief moment and appeared right in front of him. Naruto dodged in the last second to the side and Satsuki missed him with her dash attack. She stopped a few meters away, a bit surprised. She looked behind her and saw Naruto, standing there in his last stance when he dodged her.

'Well, well, well… look at that. So, the abilities from his sacred gear are true. I never thought it would be the other way around this time. He having the ability to see through every move of me,' thought Satsuki with a little chuckle.

"Very impressive that you could dodge this attack. I guess I can step it up a little since you should know my moves," said Satsuki with a smirk. Naruto didn't react and looked her in the eyes.

He charged forth, jumping at her while doing a flying kick. Satsuki simply stepped aside and let Naruto fly past her. She raised an eyebrow when he twisted his body and stopped even when he was in the middle of flying past her. He simply stopped himself right beside her twisting his body in midair. He looked with focused eyes into hers while he was still a bit above the ground. Before he could even touch the ground, Satsuki's leg shot out, trying to hit him in the rips.

Naruto narrowed his eyes and was ready. Her kick hit him directly in the chest area, but he didn't fly away or anything like that. It was like Satsuki had hit a piece of wood not with enough force to break it. Naruto simply raised his fist.

'3rd Sword: Madoka!' (Circle) Naruto thrusted his fist forward and Satsuki raised her hand and caught the strong fist punch. She was a bit surprised when she was sliding back out of nowhere from the extreme force of his strong punch. When she stopped, she looked at Naruto with both eyebrows raised. She never thought he could deliver such a strong punch. He also didn't fly away from her kick where she put a bit more power into it than usual during their short fight so far.

"I have to say, I am a bit impressed. Did you hold back this entire time?" asked Satsuki interested. She was really interested in this topic. She couldn't believe what had just happened. If everything she knew was real than he would only be a devil for a couple of days. He couldn't have achieved such a strength in such a short amount of time. He was of course faster because he was reincarnated with a Knight Piece but other than his higher speed, there shouldn't be so much pure strength.

Naruto stood now on both feeds again and rubbed his chest a bit with his right hand. He looked at her and said, "No. I just used the force of your kick against yourself."

Satsuki understood directly what that meant. "You have a method to use the force from the physical attacks from your opponent against your opponent?" asked Satsuki.

"That's the short form," said Naruto. "Shall we continue?"

Satsuki simply charged at Naruto, intending to learn more about him. Even when he wasn't her Naruto… there was still a certain dynamic and connection she could feel with Naruto even when he was not her Naruto anymore. The way he challenged her was a different way, but even now both were teasing/challenging each other in certain ways. That thing didn't change even in this new world.

Author Note: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter as well! I hope you all have at least a little distraction from the cruel world we all live in when you all read my story. I will try to make the chapters longer from now on since the "Introduction Arc" is over from this point on. I wanted to establish Naruto what's behind him and what could be in the future. His relationships with the people he has met so far and other basics things like his abilities etc.

Used Techniques in this Chapter:

3rd Sword: Madoka (Circle): When Naruto receives an attack, his broad back muscles are loose as jelly. He uses his broad back muscles to transfer the force of the incoming attack into his counterattack, putting the received power on top of his own power. This is an effective way to counter in specific scenarios where he has no choice but to take the hit. It's also unpredictable since he could use this technique at any moment when someone hits him physically or if he would use this technique with his sword when he would block a sword strike from an opponent. This technique is very effective against opponents stronger than Naruto.
