I grinned from ear to ear and occasionally laughed as Leon and I rode on his bike. We had been on the road for a while now. I just held onto him and enjoyed our journey together. This new adventure had just begun, this new life.

"I told you not to eat those berries."

"Ah, it's comin' outta me like lava."

I laughed and tossed Leon a roll of toiler paper, I wasn't walking that over to him. He was crouched behind a bush with his pants down. Finally, I saw him walking back over to me and the bike. "Feel better?"

He nodded. I handed him a bottle of water, he drank a little. I noticed that he was kind of pale. "Hey, how'd you know that about those berries?"

I smiled before speaking. "A friend taught me." I shrugged. It was Daryl, but I decided not to tell him that. "Ready to go?" I asked him once he finished his water.

Leon seemed to hesitate. "…can you drive?"

My stomach suddenly got that feeling when something scares you. "…I don't know how to drive that thing."

"I'll show you. It's real simple." Leon began showing me the basics of his motorcycle. It seemed simple enough, but I was still nervous. "You think you can do it?"

I thought about it and I could at least try. For him. "Yeah, I think I can do it." I nodded. "I've rode dirt bikes before and they're similar so…I should be fine."

"Oh then I'm not even worried." He waved.

I raised my eyebrows. "I wish I had as much faith in me as you do." I half joked. He chuckled. I got on the bike and started it, he got behind me. I did what he showed me and started riding out onto the road. So far, so good.

After a while, I got the hang of it and wasn't even nervous anymore. In fact, I liked it. Actually, I loved it! "This is fun." I said.

"Isn't it?" Leon asked me.

"I'm a motorcycle girl now!" I exclaimed. "Woooo!"

He let out a laugh. "It's fun for me too, cuz now I get to hold onto you."

I got that heartbeat feeling and grinned. "Just don't make me wreck."

"Why is that?"

"Cuz you're making me horny." I laughed.

Leon laughed a little too. "Well…we'll just have to do something about that, won't we?"

I got real excited after that.

We pulled over and stopped in a little barn that we saw in a field. After checking that no one was inside, we had sex. I wanted to have as much sex with my man as possible. I loved it and couldn't get enough of it.

Leon and I wanted to get far enough from home that it would be very difficult for someone to find us if they came looking. So, we've been gone for about a week now just traveling around. We're currently in West Virginia, so not too far from home but we just traveled around and looked for food and supplies and stuff.

One day, we came across the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. I made Leon stop because I wanted to check the place out. "Whoa look!" I said. "Stop here."

Leon glanced back my way before turning into the parking lot and parking his bike in front of the building. "What do you wanna go here for?"

I hopped off his bike and ran up to it. "Wow. Look at it." I said admiring the old building. "It's way bigger than I thought."

"You know about this place?"

I turned and looked at him. "I read a book about it."

"Of course you did." He raised his eyebrows and smirked.

I smiled then looked back at the buidling. "It's supposed to be haunted and I've wanted to go to one of the tours." I looked back at him and grinned.

Leon understood by my look. "Are you serious? You wanna go in there?" He asked like I was crazy.

"Why not?" I shrugged my shoulders. "It's been closed down since the 90s so it's not like anyone will be inside." I said while running up the stairs.

He let out a laugh. "I don't think that means no one will be inside."

"Come on." I ignored what he said. I opened the double doors for us and we went in. There was a lobby and a long hallway ahead of us. I shivered. "It's creepy already."

"Yeah, I don't know why you wanna do this."

"Don't be such a baby." I teased him. "Come on. Let's go." I started running up the main staircase. It took us to another long hallway with a bunch of rooms. We looked in the rooms and saw how awful it must've been here.

"I'd hate to be locked up here." Leon spoke my thoughts.

"I know." I raised my eyebrows. I stepped into another room and gasped because there was someone laying in the bed. I quickly realized that it was just a mannequin. "Oh my God." I said with my hand over my chest. "I thought that was a real person." I laughed.

Leon looked in and sort of jumped. "Why would they do that?"

"They used to have tours here." I reminded him.

"Still. What's the point? To scare the shit outta someone?"

I giggled. "Let's keep looking around."

We saw a set up double doors so I walked over to them. Opening them, I saw it was to the theater. I looked down at all the seats below. "Whoa." I muttered. There was a sign on the door about a school dance that we both read.

"Could you imagine having your prom here?" Leon laughed.

"Yeah, that'd be creepy as hell." I laughed. I paused for a moment. "I didn't get to have my prom."

He looked over at me. "Oh yeah. The world broke down before that?"

"Yup." I said still looking down.

"That sucks. I'm sorry."

I shrugged. "Prom is overrated anyway." I waved.

"It is." He agreed. "It's not like how it is in movies."

I scoffed. "I never thought it was. Nothing is."

"True." He put his hand on my back. "Come on."

Leon and I wandered through the big building and kept looking around inside. We ended up on the isolation floor. I looked up at the number of a door and gasped. "Oh my God."

"What?" Leon turned to me with concern.

"This is it. This is the room!" I said excitedly and ran in. "Holy shit! It looks just like the picture!"

Leon followed me in. "What room?"

I turned to him. "Three men were locked in here. They were put in isolation together." I explained. "There were two young guys and one guy that was older. The two younger guys didn't like the older guy for some reason so they decided to kill him." I said wide-eyed. "They tied bedsheets together and put it around his neck, then they would hang him up over this beam." I showed him. "They would wait until he passed out, then they would lower him enough that he regained consciousness, then they'd do it again." I turned to him. "After they got bored of that, they put his head under the bedpost and took turns jumping on it until it completely went through his head." I looked at the bed that was in the room.

"Jesus." Leon said. "What kind of things were you into? Maybe you're more like Cathy than I thought." He laughed.

I ignored him. "Do you think this is the same bed?"

"No." Leon looked it over. "It would be way more damaged than that."

"Yeah, you're probably right." I ran my hand along the foot board. "It happened right here." I said wide-eyed.

"It's a sad story."

"It is." I agreed. "Could you imagine how scared he probably was?"

"Hopefully, he got knocked out and didn't feel all of it." Leon said. "That's the best way to go. Quick and painless."

I thought about his words and looked down. That made me think of Glenn and the horrible way he died. Then that made me think of the others back home. My dad. "Yeah."

I felt Leon's hand on my shoulder. "Come on, let's explore some more."

Staring at the bed, a thought suddenly occurred to me and I got that excited feeling in my stomach again. I turned to Leon and smiled, he gave me a questioning look. "Let's have sex in here." I grabbed his arm.

He looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe I am. "Are you serious?"

"Yeah, why not?" I grinned. "I wanna fuck in the asylum." I laughed. "Come on." I threw my shirt off knowing that he couldn't resist me. He still looked a little unsure but came over to me and started kissing me. I giggled as we laid on the bed.

"That was hot." I said as we laid there.

"It was." Leon agreed. "But it felt kinda wrong."

"I know!" I laughed. "But that's what makes it exciting."

"Yeah." He widened his eyes and breathed out. "I used to go to church, now I fuck in insane asylum."

I laughed pretty hard at that. "At least it's not a church."

"I'm sure they have a chapel here." He turned his head and looked at me. "And don't you get any ideas, little lady."

I giggled and snuggled up closer to him. There was a brief pause. "I used to go to church too." I told him. "I liked singing the songs."

"Yeah, I used to sing too." He nodded. "My favorite was Ancient Words."

My eyes widened. "You sang that too?" I asked excitedly. "I loved that one!"

"Yeah." He grinned. "It was a church banger."

I laughed. "Church banger?"

"Yup." Leon shrugged. "Ancient words ever true, changing me and changing you." He started singing the words, which made me laugh. "We have come with open hearts, oh let the ancient words—

Leon stopped singing and I stopped laughing immediately because we heard a strange noise out in the hall somewhere. I looked at him in alarm. "What was that? It came from out there."

"Yeah, it's time to go." Leon sat up.

I laughed as Leon and I walked back down to the lobby. "I don't think the ghosts liked your singing."

"What?" He smirked. "I have a good voice."

"You do." I looked up at him. "But we must've disturbed them."

"I like how your mind goes to ghosts." He teased me. "I thought someone was in here."

"Hey." I scoffed. "I'd much rather deal with a ghost than a person." I laughed. "What the hell is a ghost gonna do?"

"It could possess you." He said.

"That's demons." I smirked.

"I'm sure you know a lot about that too." He teased me. I just giggled.

Leon and I came across the gift shop on the ground floor so we decided to look around in there, before leaving, to see if we found anything useful. "I don't think we're gonna find much in here."

There were t-shirts in there that said the name of the building on them. I found one that was maroon and had a picture of the whole building on it. I liked it. "Clean shirt." I said and tossed him one, he caught it. I found one that was my size and changed into it. "We can match." I smiled sweetly.

He let out a laugh and quickly changed into the shirt I gave him. "Hey look." He said. I turned his way. "A vending machine." He grinned. "There's some snacks."

"Oh great!" I said. "Is there any water?"

"Yeah. There's also some Powerade and soda."

I scrunched up my nose. "I prefer Gatorade." He gave me a look and I laughed. "Just kidding. Kind of. But I'll drink it."

Leon and I packed our bags with the food and clothes and stuff, then we headed out back to the bike. It was getting dark and we needed to find shelter, but neither one of us wanted to stay there.

Leon and I found a house by the road that wasn't too far from the asylum. Since Leon did most of the driving, I let him sleep while I kept watch. Staring out into the night, I thought about how different things were. I wondered if they would always be like this. Hopefully, we find a place where we can stay and we won't have to be traveling around so much.

Then I started thinking about my dad and everyone back home. What they were doing. Were they looking for me? I hope not. I don't want them risking their lives to try and find me, especially when I don't want to go back. I glanced at Leon's sleeping form. Not unless they let Leon live there too.

I looked down. I do miss them though. Will I ever see them again? Will I ever make them laugh by telling them one of my stories again? Will I ever get to spend another moment with my dad? Or see Judith grow up? Or have one of those talks with Daryl? These thoughts were giving me anxiety.

Suddenly, I felt arms wrap around me from behind and my anxiety seemed to instantly subside. I didn't even hear him get up. He kissed by my ear making me smile. "What are you thinking about?"

My smile faded and I looked down. I shouldn't tell him. "Nothing." I whispered.

Leon breathed out. "You miss them, don't you?"

My mouth pressed into a thin line. "Yeah." I decided not to lie. I didn't need to lie to Leon.

"Hey." He slowly turned me to face him and touched my face. "We're in this together. If you're feeling sad and unhappy, all you have to do is tell me and we'll go back." He nodded. "I promise."

Hearing him say that made me feel a lot better. I smiled at him. "Okay." We embraced and just held each other.

"Come on, come to bed with me." Leon took my hand and we got into the bed and snuggled up with each other. This was the best feeling, it made me completely forget about my thoughts just from a moment ago. That's when I knew that this was right. It was okay. Even if I miss my family, at least I have Leon. It wouldn't even matter if we never found a place to live. As long as I'm with him.

Narrator's POV

While Leon and Abby were having the time of their lives there, things weren't going so well back at Alexandria. As the time went on and the days passed by, Rick Grimes was beginning to regret his decision not going to look for his daughter. Maybe he was wrong and she really wasn't coming back. And the longer they waited to search for her, the harder it would be to find her.

Not only that, but word started to get around about Abby and the savior. Soon everyone in Alexandria knew, then The Hilltop knew, word even traveled to The Kingdom and Oceanside. Now all of the communities knew. All except for one.

Until one day…

Apparently, Leon did tell one of his close buddies about Abby and once Leon didn't come back for so long, it worried the young man. He decided to confide in a friend, then that friend told another person who told another and that conversation was overheard by some others. It wasn't long before everyone at The Sanctuary knew about what happened to Leon.

Still things were okay…until Negan found out…

Rosita was on guard duty up on the fence. The young woman scanned the area with her sniper, she spotted a walker in the distance and put it down. Moving around, she spotted another and did the same to that one. She looked up more towards the road and saw a truck. It appeared to be headed towards the gates of Alexandria.

Rosita put her sniper down and looked up with her mouth opened. She could hear the truck now. As it approached the gates, she was able to see who it was.

"Oh shit." She said. She knew this could only mean one thing. He knows.

The woman quickly climbed down and opened the gate. There stood none other than Negan himself. He did not look happy. "Hello, Rosita." He said. "We got a problem. I need to have a word with your fearless leader, Rick." The man grinned. Rosita glared at him, then opened the gate the rest of the way so that Negan could come in.

"I bet this is a surprise to all of you." Negan said standing in Rick's living room. The room consisted of Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Aaron and Rosita. They all had the same look on their faces. "We were supposed to never see each other again…yet…here we are. I just can't stay away from you." The man grinned. The others didn't speak or change their expressions. "How rude. I've been here for minutes and no one has offered me anything to drink." He continued to grin that grin.

"What do you want?" Rick said.

"Some iced tea would be nice." He smiled.

"No, I mean…why are you here?" Rick snapped.

"Oh, I think you of all people know why I'm here, Rick." Negan said. When no one said anything, he pointed at Rick. "Your baby girl ran off with one of my men." He said slowly. "Don't even pretend like you didn't notice she was gone."

"Yeah." Rick nodded. "Okay, I know."

Negan widened his eyes at the man in surprise. "So you do know? And you didn't try to find her?" He looked down at the father. "I would'a thought you'd be out there now tryin' to bring her home."

Rick looked down. "We thought she'd come back on her own." Michonne was the one to say.

Negan looked at her now. "Is that so?" He questioned. "Well," he put his arms out, "it's been a few weeks and…still no baby girl." He was grinning at Rick. "She's not comin' back." The man's smile began to fade. "Which is why you're gonna go look for 'er."

Rick glared at the man. "Why is that?"

Negan looked more serious. "Because that's the deal that I'm willing to make. So take it."

Rick swallowed. "No, I mean…" He trailed off.

"Yesss?" Negan had his back to him and turned back to face him.

"Why do you want them back?" Rick said. "Why do you care?"

Negan sucked on his teeth and thought for a moment. "Because that boy…stole a lot of our food. More than I'm comfortable with. And that's not okay."

"It's just some damn food." Daryl finally spoke.

Negan gave the man a surprised look, then his expression changed. "You're right…but…here's the thing," he walked closer to Rick, "I made that boy's dying father a promise that I'd look after him. And now he's gone. Thanks to your daughter." He glared at the father. "So you're gonna bring them back." He got close to Rick's face. "Or…we're gonna have some real problems." He said seriously.

"Why? So you can kill him?" Rick said.

"Oh." Negan said. "We don't do that anymore. Unless we have to. But," the tall man seemed to get his humor back, "there will have to be some kind of punishment for the boy. He'll be scrubbing toilets and sinks for months to make up for the shit that he stole." Negan sighed. "But…after his sentence is up…maybe we can even figure something out."

The room was silent for a moment. "What do ya mean figure somethin' out?" Daryl was the one to ask.

Negan smiled that smile. "They're in love." He said. "You think I would keep two young lovebirds away from each other? I'm not even that cruel." He grinned. They all glared at him for the same reason. Glenn and Maggie. "Maybe he can even stay here with you. All you have to do is bring them back." He pierced Rick with a serious look now. "So, what do ya say, Rick? Do we have a deal?"

Rick gave Negan a hard stare, then looked to Daryl. Daryl just stared back at him with a similar expression. Rick looked back at Negan. "Okay." The man said. "We'll do it."

Negan nodded and grinned. "Atta boy!" He slapped Rick's shoulder. "Well," he looked at the time, "better get goin'. It was nice seein' you, Rick. We'll have to do it again sometime." He laughed. Rick glared at him.

After Negan left, Rick sighed and looked at everyone. "Well…"

"Abby's been gone for over a month." Michonne said. "How the hell are we supposed to find her?"

"We will." Daryl said.

"We have to." Rick said more importantly.

"So who's going?" Aaron asked.

"I will." Said Daryl. "None 'a y'all can track."

Rick gave the man a nod as a thank you. "I'll go too." Said Aaron.

"We should keep numbers here." Rick suggested. "And someone needs to be here with Judith."

"Then you stay." Michonne offered. "I'll go."

"No." Rick said quickly. "Abby's my daughter. It should be me."

"So, just us two then?" Daryl said.

"Yeah." Rick nodded. "We'll leave first thing tomorrow."

Daryl gave the man a nod and patted his shoulder. "We're doin' the right thang." He said then walked away. He felt a bit of relief that they were going to look for the girl.

In a few days it'll be 2024! So, Happy New Year! :D
