UA (Day)

The day after the exams, the ones who didn't pass were a tad depressed.

"Have fun at camp, everyone." Ashido said, head hung low.

"Maybe you can still go!" Midoriya suggested, trying to cheer up his classmates. "There might be some sort of last-minute twist. You know how Mr. Aizawa is."

"Midoriya, this isn't a Goosebumps novel. This is real life." Dominic said. After those words left his mouth, he turned in the direction of the audience. "Well, more or less." he added.

"He's right." Kaminari said. "They said whoever failed would have to skip out on the summer camp and go to summer school hell! Or did All Might knock the sense out of you?"

"Ease up, Kaminari." Sero said. "I'm not sure I'll get to go either. My team won, but I didn't really do anything except pass out. Based on how they're scoring us, I might've flunked too."

"Well, at least bring us a bunch of souvenirs from camp." Kaminari said, still upset.

As the class talked amongst themselves, the bell rang. "Once the bell rings, you should all be in your seats." Aizawa said, entering the room. Before he set foot into the classroom, everyone was in their seats. "Unfortunately, there are a few of you who did not pass your final exams." Aizawa said. "So when it comes to the training camp in the woods..."

'I sense a rug pull.' Dominic thought to himself.

"Everyone is going!" Aizawa shouted, confirming Dominic's hypothesis.

"It's a last-minute twist!" the four students who failed exclaimed.

"We really get to go to camp?" Kirishima asked, amazed.

"Seriously!?" Ashido exclaimed.

"The good news is that no one bombed the written exam." Aizawa explained. "5 failed the practical, badly. Two teams of course, and then one individual."

"Crap, I knew it!" Sero said, disappointed. "Mineta did all the work, but I didn't do near enough to pass!"

"I know, I'm amazing. Praise me." Mineta said smugly. "Ladies especially."

"Let me explain." Aizawa said. "For the practical battles, we made sure to leave a way for the students to win, otherwise none of you would've stood a chance. We were interested in seeing how you all worked together and approached the task at hand."

"That explains why Present Mic turned off his Quirk intermittently." Dominic realized. "If it was truly a no-holds-barred match, he would've kept attacking over the course of the entire battle." To be honest, he was glad that wasn't the case. He could recover from most injuries, including deafness. But the feeling of his eardrums exploding was not pleasant. He learned that the hard way the first time he Gigantamaxed Toxtricity and had it use G-Max Stun Shock. On the plus side, he did win against Melony thanks to that Move.

"But didn't you promise that the teachers wouldn't be holding back?" Ojiro asked.

"That was just to get you on edge. Besides, the training camp will focus on improving your strength." Aizawa explained. "Those who failed would need those lessons more, so we were never going to separate you. That was just a logical deception we used."

"They tricked us again." Iida said, frustrated. "Mr. Aizawa, this is the second time you've deceived us like this! Aren't you worried that we'll lose faith in you?"

"A little blunt there, Iida." Uraraka said.

"That's a good point, but I wasn't lying about everything." Aizawa said. "Failure is still failure. We've prepared extra lessons for those who failed the practical, and frankly, they'll be a lot tougher than anything you'll find in summer school. And that's it for the semester. You have some time off before the summer camp, so use it wisely. Class dismissed." Aizawa then left the room.

"This is going to be great!" Ojiro said. "It looks like we're all going together!"

"And it appears that the training camp will last a full week." Iida added.

"I'm going to need a bigger suitcase." Midoriya realized.

"I don't even have a bathing suit." Kaminari said, worried. "I might need to buy some stuff."

"Like night-vision goggles." Mineta said, ignored by the rest of the class.

"Why don't we visit the mall tomorrow?" Dominic suggested. "I mean, we all need new training supplies. Besides, we don't usually get the chance to hang out as a class like this."

"Hey, you're right!" Kaminari said.

"Bakugo, are you coming?" Kirishima asked.

"I can't think of anything I'd want to do less." the explosion-user responded.

"Todoroki, are you coming?" Midoriya asked.

"I visit my mom on days off." Todoroki said, sorry that he couldn't join the others.

Dominic took in this information silently, thinking of his own mother. 'I really need to find a way to get home.' he thought to himself.

Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall (Day)

The next day, the class, barring Todoroki and Bakugo, met up at the largest mall in Musutafu.

"Holy mother of me, this place is huge." Dominic said, looking up at the building. In his arms was Mimikyu, who had the same amount of amazement in its eyes. When he heard that the Kiyashi Mall was the biggest mall in the city, he didn't think it would be bigger than Wyndon Stadium.

"Why did you bring out Mimikyu, Xiao-Long?" Jiro asked.

"I don't often get the chance to walk with my Pokemon in the city." Dominic explained. "Here, Mimikyu could easily be mistaken for a plush toy, so it can stay with me without anybody noticing."

"Hey, look over there!" a group of bystanders said, pointing at the students. "Isn't that Class 1-A?" "I saw them on TV at the Sports Festival!"

"I can't believe people still remember that." Uraraka said. It felt like more than a year ago.

"I want to try and get a bigger duffel bag to bring to summer training." Jiro said to Yaoyorozu.

"Maybe we should browse together." the black-haired girl suggested.

"Let's see where I can get a lockpicking kit and a small drill." Mineta said, looking around the mall for the right store.

"I guess I should get some outdoorsy shoes for the camp." Kaminari said.

"The guidebook said your shoes should already be broken in!" Iida reminded his classmate. "But perhaps it's a mistake to not factor in utility."

"Why don't we split up and look for what we all need?" Kirishima said.

"Sounds good to me." Dominic said. "But before we go, do you know if there's a store here that sells boxing equipment?"

"Yeah, there's a store in the west wing called Fighting Fit that sells a lot of that kind of stuff." Kirishima explained. "Why do you want to know?"

"Let's just say that one of my Pokemon has a rather...intense workout regiment." the blonde said, smiling as he looked down at a Poke Ball in his hand. Even closed, he could feel the sheer power coming through the orb.
