That Friday, Loki sat in the chair in the kitchen and endured having cosmetics brushed onto his face. He relented after the threats of a firey redhead were issued, involving his knees and a sledgehammer. So he sat, remaining patient to make Sara happy, and to persevere the integrity of his knees. Dressed in clothing meant to make him look like a well dressed skeleton, and his face being covered in different paints.
Emily stood over him with with his chin in her hand and she worked carefully, her lip pinched between her teeth in concentration as she worked. She put more black around his eyes and stepped back as Amy walked in. Both girls were dressed in their wild outfits, Emily wearing a skirt to mimic a mermaid's tail and her purple, bikini top as she looked at her work. Amy grinned, her twin braids wrapped up in buns on the sides of her head and she nodded.
"This is my best yet. And it works with his hair." She said, and Amy found her flat boots and put them on her feet. He raised an eyebrow, and Emily held the handle of her brush a breath away from his nose. "Be nice to Sara, she is totally freaking out about this, and she needs all of us to support her."
"I would prefer you to not threatening me, I also am quite fond of not having that brush shoved up my nose and into my brain." He replied, and she sighed as Amy laughed and the redhead gestured toward him.
"Tell him he looks good." Emily groaned, and she tossed her brush into the cosmetic case and threw her hands up. "He can be such an asshole at times."
"It looks amazing, Disney would so approve. Sara is finishing her makeup, and will be down in a second." Amy said, and Mark walked in wearing a tunic and a pair of loose pants. Emily helped him put on the tie and was careful for his healing fingers as she helped him into his suit jacket. They all walked out to the foyer, standing around in a loose circle and waiting for the last of the group. He looked in the mirror on the wall and saw his face was painted like a skull, and the tie around his neck was snaped like a bat.
"What character is this again?" He asked, and Amy shook her head. Robert walked in and crossed his arms in his blue pants with a red stripe down the side, and his vest. He knew that Amy was supposed to be Princess Leia, and he was Han Solo. But he was not sure about his own attire, the skeleton that fell in love with a doll? It seemed absurd to him, but he endured it all.
"You are Skeleton Jack, and Sara is Sally." Robert said, and he raised a now white colored eyebrow and let out a breath. "We are going to have to watch the movie later tonight, it is fun."
"SARA! WE ARE GOING TO LEAVE YOU HOE! GET YOUR CUTE LITTLE ASS DOWN HERE AND SEE YOUR DATE!" Emily shouted up the stairs, and Sara shouted something back down and Amy crossed her arms. Loki leaned against the wall, and Emily stomped up the stairs to get her friend.
"She is nervous, she doesn't think she looks good enough. Try to make her feel pretty, please?" Amy sighed, and they all looked to the stairs as Emily gestured up toward the landing.
"Skeleton Jack... Meet Sally." She gestured, and frowned and pointed at the landing. "Get down here!" She said, and he heard a protest from Sara. "Come on, it is not that bad, you look super cute!"
"I don't think is should do this though, I... I don't want people laughing at me." She replied, and Loki shook his head at her insecurities. He was going to help her with that, and he saw Robert walk to the foot of the stairs.
"I know one thing, speaking a guy, and you are definately going to give a skeleton a bone. You look pretty." He said, and Loki heard movement on the stairs. She was finally coming down, and he steeled himself for when he saw her.
"Be the bitch that punched a redneck in the dick." Emily said, and Sara came down the stairs in a patchwork dress and red, high heeled shoes. She had stitches drawn over her legs and arms, and her lips were painted red with stitches extending out her smile. She looked shy, and she was hiding behind her wig of red yarn as he walked over to her and took her hand.
"You look adorable Sara, and I find you beautiful." He said, and she giggled behind her hand. Her skirts bounced as she stepped down the last stairs, and he shook his head in amusement at her reaction. Her eyes were on him, and he smiled at her. He picked up her basket of candies for the children, as she had volunteered to give out treats for the afternoon, and she took it.
"Do I? You look really good, that makeup is amazing." She said, and he smiled as he lowered his lips to kiss the back of her hand. She giggled and Mark rolled his eyes as he opened the door, Robert waving everyone through.
"We gotta get moving, to report as Volunteers for the afternoon. Looking cute Bugs." Mark said, and Loki offered her his elbow. She put her hand in it, and smiled at him as they walked. He carried her basket for her, and everyone started to file out toward their respective vehicles. He helped her into her seat, and sat next to her in the back of Mark's Jeep as they headed toward the Town and the celebration.
--‐--‐--
Sara smiled, and gave another little girl a few candies from the basket as she and Loki walked along. The girl thanked her and gave Sara a clumsy curtsy, and she giggled as she rejoined her parents. Sara smiled back, and they walked the street as a Teenaged group of boys walked over and asked for a picture with her. One put his arm around her, and pulled her toward him and she tried to step back.
"Come on Rag Dolly, I just want to play with you." He said, and Sara glared at him and Loki moved to step in. She gave the boy a shove, and he cocked his head as another boy reached for the back of her skirt and held it. She turned, and tried to pull it back, her hand gripping the fabric as the boys laughed.
"I'm twenty six! I'm too old for you!" She said, grabbing his hand, and she almost stumbled in the dainty shoes as she stepped back. Loki slapped his hand on the boy's shoulder, turning him around when someone cleared their throat for their attention.
"She is Sara Pruitt, let her go Ben Harper, before I run you in for assualt." A commanding voice said, and they all focused on Sheriff Rogers as he stood by with a small Snickers bar and opened it. He took a bite, and Sara shoved at the boy and walked back to Loki and crossed her arms. The Sheriff took a bite of the candy bar, and he gestured for the boys to move on.
"Dumb Bitch. Probably thinks she owns this town because of Daddy's money anyways." One boy muttered, and Sara gave him the finger, making the Sheriff shake his head as he chewed the candy. He walked over and gave her a hug, and she smiled at him.
"Having fun Ladybug?" He asked and she laughed as he let her go. "Hey Loki, thanks for being the least of my problems during your stay in town."
"Anytime Sheriff, another candy bar?" He offered the basket, and the Sheriff selected two more Snickers bars. Sara watched him put them in his coat pocket, and she smiled at both men.
"Never could say no to Snicker's bar, thanks." He said, and hitched his belt around his waist. "Doing better since your incident with Travis? I meant to stop by, but stuff came up, amd Amy said you were coping as best as you could."
"I am, really. Loki is teaching me how to defend myself, and Mark is helping me with weights and exercises. I'm glad Amy talked me into going out tonight too, I am having so much fun. And I can't wait for Fright Fest, I always wanted to go." She babbked, and the Sheriff looked at her with a cock of his head and a warm smile. He saw the change in her too, the genuine happiness radiating off her as some children ran over and she grabbed handfuls of candies from the basket and gave them all treats in their little buckets. A teenaged girl waked over to Loki, and Sara laughed and he put his gloved hand on her shoulder and took a picture with her. He then offered her a candy from the basket, and she took on with a wave as she walked away.
"You look so different Sara, this is a good thing." Sheriff Rogers said, and she smiled as he shook his head. "I'm glad you are living finally, it ain't good to lock yourself in that house. Anyhow, I gotta keep patrolling. Thanks for taking care of Sally there Skeleton Jack."
"See you around Sheriff." She said, waving as more children walked by and they handed out candy. Loki gave him a wave, and they walked along the street together. She held his elbow, and she smiled to herself as she took in a long breath of air. "Are you having fun at least?"
"The excitement of the Children is rubbing off, and I am enjoying your being happy. It was smart for the Coordinator to put male and female volunteers together though, I was becoming angry, seeing you alone, against those boys." He said, and she smiled up at him. He patted her hand in his elbow, and she smiled as a group of children ran up, dragging Claire Bosworth behind them.
"Damnit! Slow down, all of you! I have been working the Cafe all day you little Heathens!" She shouted and the four kids bounced up and down with the buckets out for the treats. "Hiya Sara, and Loki. Good to see ya both again, cute costumes."
"Hey Claire, good to see you. Go easy on your Mom guys, she is the only one you all got." Sara laughed, and Loki dropped candies into their bucket. Claire grinned, and held up her phone. Sara got the point, and urged the kids to turn around so that everyone faced the camera and Loki smiled a bit as she took a picture of them with her kids. The kids all giggled, and started pulling her toward the next couple in costumes and waved.
"Dont be strangers you two! Come into the Cafe!" She said, chasing after her kids and Loki waved back as they walked on. Sara laughed and Loki looked at her, a couple of teenagers dressed like zombies passing and they smiled at the both of them.
"I hope Claire is doing good, her Cafe is so much fun to get coffee at. She always makes the best brownies too." Sara said, and she gave some candy to a little girl who was holding up her bucket. Loki looked at the girl, amd smiled as she ran off in her little princess dress and plastic crown.
"Perhaps, we should visit her Cafe then, we could have a drink and try her baked goods." He said, and she smiled at him as a little boy dressed like Thor walked up, and his face fell a bit. He managed to smile at the child, and gave the boy some candies as the Mother gestured for a picture of them with her son. Loki nodded, and put his arm around Sara's waist and they all smiled for the picture. She took it and Loki did something that she did not expect, and he pretended to be afraid of the boy and the kid held his plastic hammer up. The Mother took another picture, and Sara lifted one of her feet and pretended to be shocked by the scene.
"That was great! Thanks!" The Mother said, and Sara laughed as she hugged Loki. He watched the boy hurry off, and Sara gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
"That was so sweet of you, he is going to remember that." She said, and the Coordinator ran up, the plump woman with short brown hair, gesturing for them to come stand with the rest of the volunteers for a group picture.
"Come on now, this is for the Yelm Herald!" She said, and then they were posed as together for more pictures together. The old man who wrote for the paper smiled as he wrote down names, and he had the photographer take a picture of Loki by himself. The old man shook his hand, and then gestured Sara for a picture of her.
"I am so glad you offered to foot the bill on the Carnival part, Ms. Pruitt. You are so generous to this community." The man said, and Sara smiled as another picture was taken of her. They followed her a bit, and Loki walked with her as they handed out candy and they came to the carnival.
"Can we get you both on a ride? That would be great for the paper." The man asked, and she looked around for something easy to get pictures of them on. She pointed to the carousel, and the operator let them on and seated them both in a carrage.
"We have to do this, Pruitt Logistics and Shipping is covering the cost of all of the rides and games. I am their new trained seal, so I gotta perform for my supper." She said, and she smiled and waved to the camera as they rode around. Loki raised a hand with her, and she put on the smile that was ingrained into her since she was sent to live in the town. The one that made her look happy, even if she was dead inside.
The ride soon ended, and they had her pose with some cotton candy, and then a pumpkin in her hands. Loki stayed off to the side, and gave a child some candy as the other man took pictures of him, the old man finishing his interview with her and he walked over to ask Loki questions.
"George Bennett, reporter for The Herald. I wrote about you when you arrived, can I ask a few questions about how you view humans now?" He asked, his scruffy mustache and brown sweater vest streched over his beer belly. The man had a pipe in his teeth as he talked, even if it was not lit. Loki gave a nod, and offered his hand. Mr. Bennett took it to Sara's suprise, and shook it back.
"You may, we may be interrupted by the fact that I have a basket of treats though." He replied and Mr. Bennett laughed and gestured around him.
"The night is definately full of fun. My first question would be: How are you adjusting to life among us people?" He asked, and Loki smiled, and he gestured to Sara. She blushed and gave a wave as Loki spoke, and the man scribbled notes.
"It was overwhelming at first, I was a bit of a fish out of water, but I am adjusting more every day. I feel more comfortable with my being here, and the Town, for the most part, has been rather amicable toward me. I was worried that I would not get along with the people here, seeing as I am a bit of a troublesome person in their eyes." He said, and the Old man smiled a he looked at his next question.
"I am glad for that, Yelm is known for being a friendly place. Are you having any problems figuring out our way of life, and are customs here different than what you are used to?" He asked, and Loki laughed and shook his head, remaining polite.
"This Holiday is new to me, but I do like it. As for customs, I do not see that much of a difference between Asgardain manners and Human Manners. We share many of the same laws, and morals as you, I find that Cell Phones are very helpful in daily life, and the liquid sutures that I had on my hand are quite brilliant." He said and removed his glove to show the man the cuts on his fingers. "They have not once given me any concern of infection, in Asgard, that was quite the issue with injuries. And the potions we hand to drink were awful tasting at best."
"Great, my next question..." Mr, Bennett asked, and Loki answered all of them with ease, Sara took the basket to let them talk, and she handed out the treats as children wandered about. They had had an hour left, and then they would go to the Lodge and enjoy the dance and Costume Contest. She smiled, giving treats to the children and waving to them all.

Sara laughed and stood on the edge of the stage with Loki, a number on a paddle in her hands and she fidgeted with her fingers a bit. She was nervous, and she really hoped no one laughed at her. She looked at Loki and he smiled back at her, taking her hand. The Emcee laughed at his own joke, and waved the last couple off the stage, and he gestured toward Loki and Sara.
"Give it up for the Coneheads! Aren't they great? Up next we have..." he glanced at his list, and smiled. "Jack Skellington and Sally!"
They walked onto the stage, and her heel slipped a bit, but she caught herself and Loki caught her before she went over backwards by the waist. She turned pink as she righted herself, and Loki took her hand as the audience clapped their hands. She gave a curtsy, and they walked off and she giggled in excitement.
"That was close, I almost went onto my butt!" She sighed, and he nudged her a bit as the next couple were called up. She looked at him, and his fingers wove between hers and she was pretty sure he could see her blush in the dim light.
"You did wonderfully, and are truly beautiful." He said, and she bit back a giggle as she looked at her feet. She shifted them, and he tipped her chin up with his other hand. "Don't look down, the world is in front of you."
"I'm not that pretty, there are probably way..." She said, and his finger tapped her lips. Sara looked at him, and he leaned close to her, his breath on her ear and neck as he spoke.
"None of them are worth waiting an eternity for." He whispered, and the words did something to her brain that made her heart jump and do backflips. She looked up at him, and she blushed a bit as he squeezed the hand he held. "There are stars in your eyes Sara, don't let them dim."
"Okay." She said, unable to think about anything else to say. She blinked at him, and he looked ahead as another couple walked past them in their costumes. The woman looked at her, giving her that look that told her that she had something wrong with her and she tried not to look away. She blinked, looking back at her and she moved out of the way as she dismissed her and laughed with her partner. She felt herself sink again, and she lowered her chin, a hand coming over and lifting it back up gently.
--
In the end, they got second place, and she smiled widely as she walked with a red ribbon pinned to her skirt and Loki had his pinned to his jacket. They laughed, and they went over to see how the other adults were enjoying their Friday celebration in the Dance Hall at the Moose Lodge.
The room was decorated with streamers and balloons, and there were couples dancing on the floor together. The DJ was finishing up Monster Mash, and she waved at Mark and Emily, who was now wearing a hoodie and a pair of Mark's sweatpants.
"Second Place! I'm so excited for you! You should have gotten first though, the Coneheads were cute, but Loki is dressed as The Pumpkin King!" Emily squealed, and Loki smiled and raised an eyebrow at her friend. She shrugged and she laughed as the DJ began playing another Halloween Song, and a guy dressed like Michael Meyers walked by them, bumping into Loki as he passed.
"Sorry, I have a hard time seeing in this mask." He said, and Loki gave him a friendly nod and the man moved on. She smiled, and squeezed his hand gently.
"What happened to your costume?" Sara asked and Emily sighed and Mark laughed as he poked her in the side. She crossed her arms, her curls bouncing as she glared at Mark.
"She got cold, we had to get these out of my Gym Bag in the back of the Jeep. I told her not to dress like Ariel." Mark said, and Emily shot him a look and waved a finger at him.
"Keep that attitude up, and I will not play with your flounder later." She warned, and Loki laughed at the threat. Sara giggled, and she got excited when the DJ started playing Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo. She grabbed Loki's arm and she looked up at him, and gave his arm a tug toward the dance floor.
"I love this song! Please?" She begged and he smiled and gave her a quick bow as he put his arm around her waist and began dancing with her. He held her hand in his, and they both moved across the floor. Emily watched them with her mouth open, and Mark grabbed her and started dancing with his girlfriend. She smiled and Loki spun her in his arm, her skirt flaring out, and he pulled her back in and she giggled at it.
"Wow! You are good!" She said, and he winked at her and moved to spin her again. He pulled her back in and Sara came close to him, and she blushed.
"The perfect dance partner makes all the difference." He said, and he tuned her around the space and she smiled as she let herself go. He may have been good, but she took dance in school at the forcing of Darla, and she let loose and let him lead.
"I took lessons in school." She admitted, and he smiled behind the painted skull and turned her as she raised her hands and he moved his hips behind her back. He rested his hands on her waist, and turned her again and she met his chest again and her foot wrapped around one of his legs and he dipped her back. She felt her body being brought back up, and she laughed as they danced. She felt free, and she did not want it to end.
"What is Fright Fest?" He asked her and she laughed as the next song got queued up and she blushed a bit.
"It is at the Amusement Park in Federal Way, Wild Waves, they turn the entire park into a haunted thrill thing. We can ride the Rollercoaster, and stuff ourselves stupid on sugary treats." She said, and he laughed a bit at her description. He looked like he was going to be bored, and she bit her lip and shook her head. "We can just walk around if you want, we don't have to do anything much. I just want to spend time with my friends really."
"It sounds like a great deal of fun, and I look forward to it." He said, and smiled at her. She gave him a broad smile, her joy evident on her face and a man dressed like Freddy Kreuger walked by them and Loki seemed to take in all the costumes around him. "I do have a confession though, I like that I am anonymous here, the paint on my face and the costume hides my identity. Even when I am dressed plainly, I am just another a face in the multitude. It is refreshing in a way, to not have people become nervous when I enter a room or area."
"Sounds like you sort of hated being Royalty in a way." She replied and he pursed his lips, and the painted teeth shifted as he thought about it.
"It did become terribly exhausting, to constantly act a certain way because it was expected of you. I can truly be myself here, not wear the mask I did in the past." He said, and she smiled, understanding what he was saying. He turned her on her toes, and she giggled as she came to a rest and he smiled down at her. "I don't feel judged here either, and I am comfortable being myself with our friends."
"We would only judge you if you turned out to be a total asshole for real." She said, and he laughed as she bounced on her toes to "Mary on a Cross" by Ghost. He kept up the tempo, and she laughed as he danced with her.
"I think, that I never wish to go back to Asgard, this world had endeared itself to me." He said, and she laughed as Emily came up with Mark, Amy, and Robert, and the six of them danced together and laughed. Emily held her hands, and they turned circles and Mark laughed as they all had fun as the world went on living around them.
--
Sara lay back on the fold out bed in the Den, hiding her face as Michael Meyers killed another teenager and she screamed. Mark laughed at her reaction, and Robert passed the bowl of popcorn around. Loki put an arm around her shoulders, and they both snuggled under the blanket together. Sara was finally getting everything she wanted in her life, and becoming more free, as she looked over at Robert and Amy who were snuggled together on the couch.
"That was so violent!" Sara said, and she yelped when Jamie Lee Curtis found her other friend dead in a laundry room. Loki gave her a squeeze and she snuggled back against his side, his blue pajama bottoms and his Pink Floyd shirt covering him. The fireplace cracked, and Amy threw some popcorn at her.
"I keep forgetting that you have never seen this movie. We so have to get you caught up on Pop Culture." Amy said, and they all watched the movie. Loki took a few chocolates out of the bag of candies and ate them one at a time.
"I have never seen this film either, I am rooting for the smart girl to survive." Loki said, and Sara grinned as they watched the movie. She covered her face, and did her best not to scream during another jump scare and she blushed as Loki held a candy in front of her face, she leaned forward and ate it from his fingers and smiled at him.
"We are so Team Smart Girl here." Sara agreed, and she watched as Michael Meyers took a bent, wire coat hanger to the eye of his mask as Lori fought him back. Sara gave a cheer, and Loki smiled at her reaction. "Can we watch something less scary after this? I do not want to have nightmares tonight."
"We can watch Hocus Pocus next." Robert offered and she smiled in joy at the idea. Emily gave a weak cheer, and Loki looked over as she lay against Mark's chest under her blanket and Robert laughed.
"I think Irish is falling asleep over there." Amy said, and Sara squeaked when Michael Meyers got back up and she bit back a scream as she curled her feet up toward her butt. She sat in mute horror, and squeaked as the Doctor shot him, saving the girl, and she relaxed. Her heart was pounding, and she felt Loki give her a squeeze with his arm gently. She smiled at him, and her mouth fell open as the camera showed that Michael Meyers had gotten up and was still alive.
"No way! He should be dead!" Sara gasped, and Mark laughed at her reaction. Robert got up, streching and he turned off the movie as he peeked around the blanket that covered Emily. Loki grinned at the sleeping girl, and chuckled as Robert ran his fingers through his messy, brown hair.
"She is endearing... when she is not threatening my knees with a bat." Loki quipped, and Amy laughed with Mark. Sara smiled, and sat up a bit and streched in her oversized shirt and leggings. She looked at Mark, and he yawned, tilting his head back.
"You can put her in Darla's old room if you want, I saged the room and sprinkled Holy Water to cleanse it." She said, and Amy gave her a look that said she was impressed. Sara yawned a bit, and everyone started shifting as they thought about sleeping arrangements.
"Well done Bugs, spoken like a true smart ass." Amy said, and she smiled in pride. Loki laughed, giving her another squeeze and she hid her face a bit under the blanket.
"Robert and Amy can sleep in my room, this bed is awful." Loki said, and Amy let out a long breath and Robert grinned.
"Going for the virginity that fast bud? Noice!" Robert joked, and Sara rolled her eyes as Loki wrapped his other arm around her, she giggled and he buried his nose in her hair.
"Grow up Dobby, not everything is about sex." Amy scolded, and Sara heard Loki yawn against her shoulder. He raised his head, and raised his hand to give Amy a high five. She slapped Loki's hand and Mark picked Emily up, carrying her to the stairs.
"I'm turning in, I was up early for work, and I don't think I can party anymore." Mark groaned, and Sara waved to him as he carried the sleeping Emily up the stairs. She smiled, glad that her friends were happy for her, and she looked at the fireplace.
"We better not leave that going, it could spark and burn the house down." Sara said, and Loki sat against the back of the hide a bed and propped his arm over his bent knee. Sara lay on her side, and Robert grinned and opened the cabinet and got out the Nerf Guns and tossed one to Loki. He caught it, cocking it, and rolled over the back of the couch to use it for cover. Sara laughed, and they aimed at eachother as they both started running around the first floor and shot darts at one another.
"He is coming out of his shell." Amy laughed, and Sara smiled as she munched on some popcorn. She heard them ducking around corners, and she giggles as Robert shouted an expletive at Loki.
"That was my dick asshole!" Robert shouted, and Sara laughed and threw her head back. Amy sighed as Loki ran past, and slid around a corner as Robert ran on and into the kitchen.
"Be careful for your fingers Spooky, they are still healing." Amy said, and he turned and ran for another position, giving Amy a thumbs up as he moved. Sara shrugged, and looked at her friend.
"Yeah, he said he likes it here, like he can just be himself. Without judgment and stuff. He smiles alot more too, like he is really enjoying his life." She replied, and Robert ran by, turning and heading back the way he came from. Ducking into the kitchen, Loki skidded on the floor in his socks and looked around. "Kitchen." She said to him, and he kissed her cheek. "It is good to see him happy, and I can assure you, I am happy too."
"Thank you Darling." He said, and ran toward the door and ducked around it and shot back at Robert. Amy laughed, and Loki ran away with a handful of darts to load the gun with. Robert gave chase, and she shook her head with a laugh.
"Boys, their bodies get bigger, but they remain perpetual adolescents. Gotta love them, it is a felony and too much work to hide the bodies if we murder them." Amy sighed, and ate a handful of popcorn. Sara laughed, and her friend looked at her and gave her a serious look. "I know I do random mental health checks on you, but I just need to know that you are in a better place from where you were before..." She said, gesturing toward the sound of the two men running around the house. Sara got the point, and she let out a breath.
"I'm in a better headspace than I was, and I still promise to reach out to one of you if I ever reach that point again." She said and sat up and looked at her friend. "Want to hear something wild?"
"Sure, I'm up for it." She said back, and Sara smiled at her friend as she pulled the blanket over her nose. And she giggled, her pride making her blush.
"Since Loki and Mark have been helping me with the exercising and self defense stuff, I have not had one episode of sleepwalking." She said, and Emily smiled at her. "It has been almost two months, and not a single incident."
"That is great! I'm happy for you, really. They do say that regular exercise lessens the chance of sleep disturbances. Lowers stress, and combats depression and anxiety too." Amy exclaimed, and she gave Sara a hug. Loki ran by them, and ducked around a corner and Sara rolled her eyes.
"They will sleep good tonight." She giggled, and Robert snuck around a wall. He checked the corner, and stepped out cautiously before moving from his cover.
"Fucker!" Robert hissed, and pulled the trigger on his Nerf Gun, launching darts toward Loki and the chase was on again. Sara and Amy both ducked to avoid getting caught in the crossfire, laughing as Loki slid across the floor and ducked behind a chair.
"Can the two elephants racing around the house in a stampede stop? I'm trying to sleep upstairs." Mark groaned, and he glared at Loki and Robert. "Seriously, it is two in the morning!"
"Apologies Mark." Loki said, and Robert laughed as he shot at Mark with a dart. He rolled his eyes, and crossed his arms at his friends. Sara snapped her fingers, and got their attention before a fight broke out.
"I'm getting tired too, it is really late. We got a big day tomorrow, so pick up the toys and put them away boys." She said, and Robert groaned. He picked up some of the darts, and made a whiny sound as Mark went back up the stairs to sleep.
"Okay Mom." Robert said, and he put away the two guns and Loki walked around collecting the dishes to put into the kitchen to wash in the morning. Robert turned off lights, and froze as he looked toward the door. Loki returned, and Sara watched the color drain from her friend's face. "Sara... is your place haunted?"
"I've been telling you it is for years, why?" She asked, and she noticed that his hand was shaking. "The woman in the long dress, or the male shaped shadow?"
"The woman in the dress." Robert said, and he sat down on the chair and rubbed his face. "She was there, and then she vanished in half a second. I am so fucking sorry I ever said you were crazy."
"Sit down Dobby, you are as white as a sheet." Amy said, and Loki returned as Robert sank to the hide a bed and sat still.
"Robert?" He asked, taking in the scene and Sara raised her head. She looked up at him, and he walked to stand behind the couch. "You look as if you have seen a ghost."
"I did." He said, and he relaxed his posture. Loki crossed his arms, and nodded as he stood by. "She isn't crazy, I feel like an asshole now."
"It's okay Dobby, I forgive you." She said, and he gave her a thin smile and nodded. He patted her foot, and he looked at her socks a moment. They had cats with unicorn horns on them, and he grinned at them.
"Those are awesome socks." He said, making Sara laugh as she wiggled her toes in them.
