So, I originally intended to start writing this in March of 2024, but then I decided I kept you waiting long enough. Now, I'm finally starting part 3 of my Amphibia OC Insert.

Previously

Matt fought the Toad Lord, Beatrix, to save his amphibian friends from her clutches. The fight ended with Matt gaining an extreme power boost and using it to save them.

Anne and Sasha dueled each other on the roof of the South Tower. Sasha wanted to kill Anne's friends, and Anne was not going to let that happen. The duel ended in an explosion and the two friends were separated.

Marcy fought the former Newtopia Ranger, Ernst. The fight ended with her killing him.

Chapter 1

On the Road

It's been a week since the fight at the West Tower. Matt, Aaron, Catherine, and Dareth were traveling down the roads of Amphibia, their destination being the capital, Newtopia.

Matt looked out the window and saw a lot of pretty sites. He couldn't really enjoy it, though. He had a lot on his mind. Mainly, his guilt for trapping himself and his friends in this world, and his strange anime powers were really haunting him.

At some point, the wagon stopped. Dareth was giving the snail a small break. The gang gathered to have a small meal during that time.

Catherine handed her silver spear to Matt and told him, "I'd like you to have it."

Matt was skeptical. "But…"

"I'll be fine," Catherine interrupted. "Besides, you need it more than I do."

Matt reluctantly took the spear and said, "Thanks."

Matt then got up and practiced using his new weapon. He pointed the spear in a direction away from everyone else, and swung it a bit.

Unbeknownst to him, a bug/bear creature was near and saw Matt swinging the spear. The creature assumed Matt was a threat and charged forward.

Matt saw the bear and tried to activate his new powers, but nothing was happening. Still, he tried to fight, using the spear to defend himself from the bear's sharp claws.

After a while, the bear overpowered Matt and brought him down. The amphibians stepped in and grabbed the bear from behind. He instantly knocked them down and was about to kill them.

Matt got scared, and the negative feeling overtook him. His eyes glowed teal. He tightened his grip on his spear.

"If you think I'm just gonna sit here while you harm the people I care about," he threatened in a distorted voice. "You've got another thing coming."

Matt dashed towards the bear and stabbed it in multiple areas. It ran away before Matt could finish the job.

Matt's eyes reverted back to normal. He felt exhausted and passed out.

A bit later, Matt woke up back in the wagon. Once he sat up, Aaron hugged him.

"I'm so glad you're okay," he said.

"Me too," Matt replied, hugging his friend back.

The two sat next to each other in the bed.

"I never asked," said Aaron. "What's that power of yours about?"

"I don't know," Matt replied. "I never knew I had them until the fight at that tower. What I do know is that I need to learn how to control them, before I inadvertently hurt someone with them."

So this was my start to part 3.

First, I'm gonna address what I know will be the biggest complaint. "It was a short opening. Barely anything happened." I know it's not much, and believe me, I wanted to do more, but after getting overambitious writing part 2, I'm gonna make the original chapters shorter, to decrease my chances of getting Writer's Block again.

Just to be clear, I'm trying to get to the part where the gang reaches Newtopia by the end of the year. Because of that, I'm sadly going to rush a few things so I don't torture myself. I won't like it, and it's doubtful you will either, but that's how I'm gonna do things.
