A high pitched squeal rang out through the whole Warren. Aster didn't even jump in the slightest when he heard it, which would normally be surprising considering that it occurred right next to him. "Did someone you follow update?"
"Better than that, they made a new book! I mean, it's not new per say, but I've been procrastinating reading it because I wanted to finish Rise of the Assassins first. Imma check it out!" And to finish the prequel, Birth of a White Wolf, he casually forgot to mention. He gleefully pulled up the book and Aster leaned over his shoulder.
"Whatcha readin' anyway?" He saw a glimpse of the relationship tag being E. Aster Bunnymund/Jack Frost before Jack flipped out and hid the book.
"Nothin', just this weird RoTG fanfic where I'm a frikin WEREWOLF, which is weird, but I'm not complaining since the book is good." Aster frowned.
"I thought you said you hadn't read it?"
"Not this part of the series anyway. I mean, I read the prequel, Birth of a White Wolf before this, which was another reason I was procrastinating read it." Jack had described the joy of being seen through a phone since he got it and was happy that there was the loophole of 'They believe in JackFrostJoyCenter3791, so they can see me'. He was also an avid reader of AO3, where he could read fanfics and write them himself. He had dived into the RoTG fandom for reasons unknown to anyone but himself and refused to let them look at his fanfics with the excuse of 'if your going to read the shit I post, you should get a device and an account to read it yourself'. Unknown to Jack, Aster had gotten a computer and an account and read his fanfics and was looking for the right time to confront him. All Jack knew was that YouKnowMeYouJustDontKnowIt948 was following him, and not that it was Aster. Hence, the username. He had read the insane amount of fluff that Jack had written between Tooth and North claiming that they were OTP and just didn't know it and the slight undertones of one sided E. Aster Bunnymund/Jack Frost.
"Hey, what did that slash sign mean?" Jack panicked and blushed.
"It-It means that the character relationship develops for the better." Aster loved asking these questions and flustering Jack. Deciding that now was the time to confront Jack, he put aside the egg when he was done and went inside his Warren to get his computer. He felt Jacks curious blue eyes watching him and widen in shock when he came out with his computer.
"Well, if your going to be reading, I guess I should too." He logged into his AO3 account, allowing Jack to see his username before saying. "Let's see if JackFrostJoyCenter3791 posted anything." He let out an evil grin towards Jack. He clicked onto 'My subscribed' and clicked onto User Subscriptions. He clicked on Jack's username and then on his Rise of The Guardians works. He had indeed updated. Jack looked mortified and was squirming uncomfortably. Aster hadn't given him free use of the tunnels yet, so Jack couldn't go unless Aster let him.
"Heyyyy, Bunny, I need to go, can you open a tunnel out?" Asters grin grew wider.
"Naw, come on Frostbite, let's read what you wrote together." Jack slowly sat down next to Aster, who started reading out loud. It was torture for the undead spirit. "-the blockhead could see that a tree spirit was pining, pun intended, over him, but not that his fellow Guardian was. It was driving him mad, and he wanted nothing more than to kiss the Pooka hard on the lips, right there in front of everyone. It didn't help that he had gotten a taste of him not a few months earlier during Norths party. Damn mistletoe had a mind of it's own, catching him and Bunny underneath it left and right." When Bunny finally got to the end of the chapter, Jack was just about ready to literally melt into a puddle of shame. Half the chapter had been about the winter spirit pining over him, the other half was about North and Tooth cuddling and trading chaste kisses, everything that they had done during the last meeting. "Yer a right good writer Frostbite, but let me ask you something. How much of this is inspired by real life?" Jack cringed.
"The fluff between North and Tooth and my own feelings about everyone. And some of the scenarios." Aster raised an eyebrow.
"Including me?" Jack knew that there was no getting out of this without the complete and utter truth.
"Maybe?" His voice got slightly higher at the end of the drawn out word. Aster just chuckled. The Pooka slowly started inching closer to Jack as the day went on and wrapped his arm around the spirit. At the end of the day, before Jack left, Aster pecked the spirits cheek. Jack sat there, stunned for a second before slowly kissing Aster on the mouth. It was a bit awkward because, hey, different facial structures, but it was nice. Jack resolved that if Aster wanted to, they would have eons to get better at this. And they did.
