Chapter 1: The Heroes
This sort of story is going to be an odd one given how Yugioh monsters how but there's going to be a mystical and magical effect when utilizing such creatures and cards into the world of the overlord so I hope you guys enjoy this particular story.
Also I know there's a rule regarding the amount of cards you're allowed but I'm waning that rule personally so now I'll allow up to 60 cards instead of 40.

The new world has seen many weird and wondrous things during the six hundred years of written history ranging from gods descending from the sky to great tragedy at the hands of the dragon lords.
The world has seen great strides of hope and prosperity up to near extinction for certain races but no one would be prepped for the next change that will happen.
Certainly not for one particular young girl in her teens.
Enri Emmot was going through the forest that was attached closely to her home village of Carne but she wanted to leave to collect her thoughts as their lord had just arrived and was extremely disappointed and angry about the low crop yield for this harvest season.
The young orange haired girl believed it was natural as there was little rain happening recently as such the crops couldn't grow as quickly more did it grant them as plentiful harvest.
The young girl watched as the 'Lord' was spouting nonsense how they are taking his kindness and land for granted and expected twice the profits for next year or he will be taking drastic actions to force compliance before he and his bulky goons had left which was an implied threat that some of the woman would be taken as concubines, mistresses or worse sex slaves because they failed to produced the expected coin needed to appease the bastard.
Enri left for the forest to cool off as she had grown angry that such a man could be allowed to make such threats especially since they have no control how the weather, none of them were magic casters of such a tier as she heard from rumors that a human of an advanced age has the capacity to do such a thing was located in the Baharuth Empire.
Enri Emmot stopped her walk as she pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance 'Bastard, can't he tell none of us can control the weather, it's luck that our crop yields were much less then the yields of last harvest' As the young braided haired girl was griping to herself until she stopped to see a man collapsed on the ground which she gasped and immediately ran over to the man.
She was checking all she could for the man though the orange haired girl sighed in relief as she felt a pulse then took a closer look at the unconscious man.
He seemed to be wearing clothes Enri has never seen before which consisted of pants of blue cotton that the young girl was unsure of where such a color come from, his upper wear consisted of a white shirt with a jacket made from yellow colored leather which Enri thought was odd as she never seen an outfit made from yellow leather, must've been a monster that Enri has never seen before.
Now the man had brown hair that was quite long that is also braided in a similar fashion as the young girl.
Enri's heart skipped a bit at the pure beauty of the man's eyes which was pure emerald green, the man sat down gripping his head "Ughhh, geez, what happened?" He said as he looked around curiously then fear started to appear as he immediately stood up to look down at his body then at her while his eyes were widened to the size of dinner plates "W-who are you?" The asked the orange haired girl as he started looking around as if he didn't know where he was.
Enri got up onto her feet to get a closer look at the man's face and based on how clean and smooth it was, he appeared to be around her age "I-I'm Enri, Enri Emmot…who are you?" Enri asked curiously as she didn't know exactly where this man was from, maybe the theocracy given the man mysteriously arrived, maybe he knows a teleportation spell.
Enri walked slightly to her right hoping to get a view which she did and it was extremely odd as those were not traditional cards that the young village girl was accustomed too, they appeared in dark orange cards with pictures of monsters of them, they looked goofy to her but they all had a common name that the village girl could recognize 'Neo' Enri had no idea what Neos meant but the monster she felt captivated by was a light yellow colored card with a heroic like creature with white skin like suit and captivating white eyes, it appeared to be a hero from the stories Enris dad often tells her.
In addition to the orange cards, Enri sees other cards of various looks from deep purple to mossy green so the young village girl had no idea what these cards were or why the mysterious young man was going through them like they were extremely important.
The man finished going through the deck then shuffled it, probably by instinct from the look of it before putting it back where it was first located which was underneath his jacket then he smiled at Enri "Well Miss. The name is Ryan, Ryan 'Ra' Pegasus … I'm … the chosen one of the great Winged Dragon of Ra" Ryan exclaimed and lied through his fucking teeth as he wasn't some chosen one hand picked by a god of his homeland.
Ryan Pegasus was just some some kid from the country of Japan and having been a successful applicant to the pristine Yugioh academy, he earned his jacket, which is Ra Yellow, when entering the academy which assigned him to a dorm which was separated due to the three egyptian gods, Silfer the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor and the Winged Dragon of Ra.
Ryan was the only son of the great Maximillum Pegasus but was raised more conservatively then what his father often tried to do but the young man chose to enroll into the illustrious Duelist Academy in Japan with his own merit since his father offered to send a recommendation letter, the duelist man was grateful and loves his father but Ryan wanted to make his mark on his own but apparently going out to the arcade with his closest friend 'Yuki Moto' had suddenly turned into isekaing him to a new world.
Ryan chuckled nervously hoping the young girl didn't see through his obvious lies but he flinched when he saw Enri staring at him with stars in her eyes as if she believed every ounce "Truly!? You're truly the champion of a powerful dragon!?" She exclaimed loudly as she tried to get closer but Ryan quickly stepped back as she would've entered into his personal bubble.
Ryan nodded as if continuing to bury himself further into the lies he's spread as a way to keep his true origins hidden so no one knows he's actually the weakest person possible "Y-Yeah but if you don't mind, could you not tell anyone about that as I'm trying to lay low" Ryan said which Enri immediately nodded at this as she doesn't mind following such directive.
Enri nodded though her attention returned to the jacket that Ryan was using as a sort of holder for the deck so this could be a good time to ask what that it's about "Sir Ryan? What is exactly that deck?" She asked curiously which Ryan looked down as he nearly cracked his teeth to pieces from biting so hard.
'Ah shit! I forgot I brought my deck out to check on my cards, ah shit, what do I say? I don't want to give off the impression that I'm from another world so what lie could I dish out that makes her think that I'm more than what I really am…hmmm Ah! That would work, basically true give Neos is my spirit card' Ryan thinks before showcasing the deck once again.
"Ah this! You got one heck of an eye Miss. Emmot heh! This is no ordinary deck of playing cards, they are called…Yugioh Cards" Ryan exclaimed in a showy format as he raised the deck of Yugioh cards over head while Enri watched with fascination at the man's showmanship.
"these cards are inhabited by the spirits and mystical powers of a bygone era, I can summon monsters of immense power, I can induce spells to empower myself or change the environment or traps to create detrimental effects against my foes" The red jacket duelist exclaimed before finishing with "There are perhaps millions of cards from my homeland and we who uses them fight in a contest of might to determine who wields better cards, we are called Duelists" Ryan said with a smug looking smile while internally he was sweating so much a pool is being formed and hoped the young village girl did not see through the lie.
Enri was listening with rapt attention about the majesty of these 'Yugioh Cards' the young village girl has never heard of objects that housed immense magical power but the ability to cast spells through it, to summon and bind monsters to the conjurer's will meant this Ryan Pegasus was a powerful magic caster "you're so incredible!" Enri shouted with a happy expression as this could be a way for her home to be taken away from an inconsiderate nobleman.
Ryan flinched as the young girl got even closer with admiration in her eyes "Can you show me?! Please?!" The orange girl asked the braided haired duelist which Ryan was thinking for a moment.
'God damn! I made the lie too good and now she's going to realize that I'm a fraud! Damn it all?…' Ryan was thinking until having thrown the deck into the interior of his yellow jacket, 5 of the cards suddenly flew out from inside of the duelist's yellow jacket and entered the brown haired duelist's hand which Ryan looked down in shock but then, an idea hit.
Ryan exclaimed to the five cards that are in his hand "Well here it is! As a duelist from my home, our power has a bunch of rules which is situated when the games first formed, we draw 5 cards at the start of our fight then we play, at the start we draw one card which is called the Drawing Phase-" Ryan started to explain the rules and intricacies to Enri who was listening with a serious expression.
A card suddenly flew out of Ryan's jacket again and landed into his card hand which was to the left where the other cards were located.
Ryan wondered what was happening to his deck of cards but looked down to see what cards he currently has in his hand.
The first card was a spell card called 'Instant Contact'.
The second card was an Effect monster card called 'Neo Spacian Grand Mole' which appeared as a mole-like creature in a chest plate armor with two drills on the shoulder pads.
The third card was another spell card by the name of 'Neos Force'.
The fourth card was another spell card by the name of 'EN Shuffle'.
The fifth card was an effect monster called 'Neo Space Pathfinder' which takes the form of a humanoid silver skin suited creature with a face mask and a helmet.
And lastly, the sixth and final card, the drawn card, was perhaps the strongest and most vital aspect to the Neo Spacian Dueling Deck that Ryan controls, it was a Normal Monster called 'Elemental Hero Neos' which takes the form of a bulky and toned skin suited humanoid male with blade like arm guards and a fin on the head, three red triangles around the core of the heart and appeared to be a powerful hero.
'Woah, strong hand at the start' Ryan thought to himself before continuing "Yeah, next is called the Main Phase which is where I will utilize any of the cards I possess against my opponent" The Yellow Jacket Man exclaimed but since he has no duelist projector.
Ryan had no idea on how he was supposed to unleash these cards until both he and Enri flinched as the two knights in full plated armor started running towards them though stopping "Finally found you! Our leader was watching you this morning so when we killed that worthless noblemen and his posse, you escaped so now you'll die with the rest of the village" the First knight who spoke started to walk forward but stopped when the brown haired braided young man stepped in front of Enri who was standing scared but seeing this mysterious man step in showing he cared, The Young Village girl blushed heavily as her mind started to feel with visions of grandure and love.
Ryan however didn't say anything as he needed to figure out what he can do then something pinged in his head and looked down, his Elemental Hero Neos was pulsating in invisible energy as if telling him to play the game.
Ryan immediately nodded as if somehow, he knew what to do with the cards in his hands and started going through the cards trying to form a starting strategy while the two knights looked at each other then the one started to more forward with his sword raised to kill the young man until stopping when the kid pulls out a card "I activate Instant Contract!" Which he then throws that disintegrates in mid air and the energy is currently pulsating in the air.
Both knights stopped then looked at each other then back at the man, very curious and cautious as they both raised their swords in defense of whatever magic this mysterious young man is dishing out.
"This allows me to special summon one fusion monster from my extra deck, ignoring the cost and conditions and I summon Elemental Hero Grand Neos!" Ryan exclaimed in a showmanship that everyone has no idea what the yellow jacket wearing man is doing but the ball of celestial stars shift and change then a bright flash of light is formed creating a new creature.
The creatures the form of a grey and brown humanoid creature with a massive drill for a right hand, the large armor grieves and an upper heavy brown Chestplate with shoulder guards as well as having a large bluish jewel embedded into the chest, the creature growls slightly as the drill revved as if displaying an intimidation display.
Enri watched with fascination clear in her eyes as she typically didn't much believe the man she had met but to see this creature summoned, this Elemental Hero formed out of nothing but the cards from Ryan's hand showed he really was telling the truth of his origins, a powerful duelist that used monsters to entertain a crowd, to think the homeland that Ryan hails from could be so advanced to make monsters like this into entertainment like sport.
Ryan looked shocked as well as he never expected his creature to have a physical presence other then his dueling projector but he had to play cool, play the role of someone who knows what they are doing "Grand Neos! Attack the left knight!" Ryan Pegasus commanded the drill hand hero.
Grand Neos raised his massive drill hand and dashed forward in speeds that caught the first knight off guard and a jab like attack from the drill and caused his head to splatter like a melon, this caused the knights headless body to collapse into the ground while Blood gushes out of the open neck wound.
Enri gasped at the sudden sight of brutality while the second knight staggered backwards as his sword dropped and started to run and scream in absolute fear but he was impaled by the same drill connected to Elemental Hero Grand Neos, the knight roared in pain as the drill started revving fast that rips the second knight apart in a torn heap of blood, guts and metal.
Ryan was shaking and gasping at the sight of such brutality as he had never seen such things before which was understandable given he was a 16 year old kid in a duelist academy, he was essentially a kid from Japan and now he has blood on his hands.
