Peyton returned to the Brucas home a few hours after her encounter with Lucas at the Rivercourt. She did end up going to visit her mom. Asking for help, asking for a sign. Nothing. Silence. That had been her life so she didn't see anything new as a sign. She opened the door to face her demon, or demons depending on how you looked at it. She didn't see any sign of life when she walked in the foyer. Brooke's keys were on the side table so she knew she had been home.

"Oh Broody that feels so good," she heard Brooke moan. "Is that ok right there?" She heard Lucas question. "Don't stop," Brooke moaned out again. The sadness she felt walking in once again turned into rage. How inconsiderate Brooke and Lucas would be to have sex in their living room when they had guest. She wanted to vomit. She heard the sliding door open. "Uncle Lucas are you hurting Aunt Brooke?" JAMIE! She ran in to shield his eyes from having to see them. She rounded the corner to see Brooke in between Lucas's legs fully clothed. Lucas chuckled, "No buddy, aunt Brooke worked today so I'm giving her a massage." He had both his hands working on her one shoulder. "I want to help," Jamie yelled running to the couch and sitting next to Lucas. "Like this Uncle Lucas?" he asked taking his two little hands trying to give Brooke a massage.

"Hey where did my kid go?" Nathan said walking in the sliding door with Haley. "Daddy I thought Uncle Lucas was hurting Aunt Brooke, but he was just trying to relax her with a massage." He pointed to her shoulders, "See I'm trying to help too!" Everyone laughed. Nathan and Haley plopped on the couch, Nathan grabbing the remote and turning on the tv. "Peyton sit here," Haley instructed on the couch. Peyton plopped down next to Haley, "So what are we watching?" "Jamie's pick," Nathan interjected. A grin appeared on Jamie's face. He leaned over to Lucas whispering something in his ear. Lucas laughed and got up to the dvd player.

"Hey hey, secrets secrets are no fun unless you share them with me James Lucas Scott." Brooke said tickling her nephew. "Don't worry Aunt Brooke it's one of your favorites," he said deviosuly. Suddenly on the screen was Jamie surrounded by friends and family. Peyton assumed it was his 4th birthday since there was a number '4' on the cake. Brooke jumped up grabbing the remote immediately pausing. "James Lucas Scott and Broody how dare you!" Everyone started laughing. Peyton feeling left out spoke, "I don't get it whats going on."

"Oh P. Sawyer those 2," Brooke pointed at Jamie and Lucas, "Love to laugh and reminisce of Jamie's 4th birthday when Lucas fed him too many sweets. Then I had him in my arms for a picture and he threw up all over me. It was in my hair, I just had worn my new Chanel shirt that was completely ruined." She turned to Jamie, "You're lucky I love you so much that shirt cost more than apartment rent." Brooke threw the remote at Lucas.

"Let's go P. Sawyer let me show you the changes and renovations we did in the house. Let those 2 dweebs laugh at my embarrassment." Brooke stuck her tongue out moving towards the kitchen. "Come on babe I took care of you and got the throw up out of your hair," Lucas chuckled watching Brooke and Peyton walk towards the kitchen. Brooke stuck up her middle finger keeping her back to the group. Peyton looked around. The kitchen was so much brighter then she remembered. Brooke gestured to the cabinets, "So when we moved in Karen had taught me how to cook some basics so we thought making the kitchen more inviting because I actually know how to not burn the place down. Bright colors, marble, a place where family could really be together."

Peyton took her hand dragging it across the counter top. She moved towards the french doors looking into the back yard. Brooke walked up next to her. "So the backyard was probably our biggest project. Before we bought the house my dad actually bought the land next door. We built the guest house over there." Brooke was pointing to the mini house in the backyard. It had very modern features. She could't believe what she was looking at. "And then well, Jamie is here all the time, especially when Nathan is on the rode and Haley goes and visit. So we wanted to make the backyard an oasis." Peyton was in awe. There was a built in swimming pool. On the outside was a lazy river that went under a bridge and waterfall. She saw multiple types of seating, a fire pit area, and in the right corner was a kids play set with a tire swing hanging from a big tree. "Wow," Peyton said. It truly was a masterpiece.

Brooke grabbed her hand, "Let me show you where you're staying P. Sawyer." Brooke dragged her upstairs. They came to a familiar door. One that when opened, showed a room where they had spent hours. Hours getting dressed up, hours crying when Anna died, hours of reading magazines and talking about boys, hours of Brooke talking about Lucas. Peyton gulped.

"I hope this isn't weird staying here. Lucas and I figured we make it one of the guest bedrooms. Bad vibes letting our future off spring sleep in here they might turn into sex fiends and we don't want that," Brooke laughed. "Oh don't worry, brand new bed, brand new sheets, and Rachel saiged the room to ward off any bad juju." Brooke opened the door walking in. "Well P. Sawyer, I know you had a long day and seeing mama Sawyer could have been heavy. I'll let you be. Settle in. If you're hungry there is pizza downstairs." Brooke looked down at her watch, "Naley will be leaving soon. We have the bridal brunch tomorrow at the cafe for 12, Lucas and I will prob head to bed soon too. Shout if you need anything." Brooke walked towards the door. Peyton could see her stop. "Oh and all of your clothes are hung up in the closet. I hope thats ok. And P. Sawyer," Brooke hesitated, "I'm really happy to have you here ."

Peyton looked around. Cosmetically, the room changed drastically. You wouldn't know this used to be a teenage girls bedroom. 3 of the walls were a clean white. The wall with the bed on it was a gray with a a dark purple headboard. The bedding was crisp. She moved towards the closet. This was the only part of the room that didn't seem to change. On the inside of the wall she could see both their names with a list under them. "Brooke and Peyton's Love list." She laughed at how silly they could be. Brooke list was: Frank, he was the senior QB who Brooke was in love with. His name was crossed out when Brooke had met Lucas he became her number 1. Then the list followed, Chris Hemsworth, Papa Sawyer, and Mr. Tole their history teacher who Brooke found oddly attractive. Peyton's list. She wasn't very truthful when they had made that list. And overtime when Brooke's changed, Peyton's never really reflected what she had been feeling. 1. Jake. She wondered if Rachel ever saw this, but thought if she did she would have crossed it off. 2. Pete Wentz 3. Morris Heal; junior who had been into the music scene. 4. Travis Barker. Brooke always made fun of Peyton's list saying to keep the emo rockers off of the list. What caught her eye was the writing on the other wall. "Brooke and Peyton, Best Friends Forever. Est 2005." 20 years of friendship. It hurt a little. She walked towards the bed and laid on her back. Why? Why couldn't she be happy for Brooke? Her eyelids became heavy and sleep took over her.
