Chapter 6 a special day
Drift was aware a very important day in his life was coming up. It was also an important day for Slipstream and Jetstorm too. Today was the day Drift found the two of them, and also the day the left Shadow Raker, the day they became his students. Drift found that to be special he hoped his students found it special. Drift made sure his students were out on patrol and just left so he could talk to the others with out his students over hearing him.
Drift came up to the team. "I want to talk to all of you about something important," Drift said.
"What is it?" Denny asked.
"Next month is a very important day that happened in my life and my students lives," Drift said.
"What day is that?" Grimlock asked.
"Yes what is it?" Russell asked.
"It is the day I found them on Cybertron and also left Shadow raker, 8 years ago," Drift said. "The day they became my students as well, so this is very important," he said.
"It sounds very important," Side swipe stated.
"Well what do we suggest we do?" Strongarm asked.
"How about a nice celebration for this important event?" Denny asked.
"That sounds sounds sounds *whack* like a great idea," Fixit said.
"Celebration would be fine, we just need to remember to keep it a surprise for my students because I have something special planned for them. Because I think they are ready for the next step in their training, which I know will help them continue to grow into the warriors they are meant to be," Drift said.
"What is important about this next step of their training?" Russell asked.
"It is time for the to learn how to use swords of their own, I trained with weapons they currently used and then learned about how to use my swords, now it is time for them," Drift said. "So it must be kept secret until the celebration," he explained.
Then the two minicon came up. "We finished patrol master," Slipstream said.
"Were you talking about something?" Jetstorm asked.
"We were talking about which movie to watch tonight right guys?" Russell said.
The others understood right away and nodded.
"Oh okay," Jetstorm said.
The planning began. They did it whenever Slipstream and Jetstorm were out on patrol alone. Drift want to make sure the celebration remained a surprise. Jetstorm and Slipstream were doing there best during patrol and training.
"I noticed they seemed to be doing something, but they stop talking about it or doing what they are doing when we come up to them." Jetstorm said.
"I don't know if they are Jetstorm, maybe you are just being a little too suspicious," Slipstream told him. "So try not to worry about it," he told him.
"If you say so," Jetstorm said.
Then the big day came. "Okay Slipstream and Jetstorm you are needed to go out on patrol, I want you back at 3:00 pm exactly, till then you may patrol, and see what lives in this forest, just try not to get yourselves into trouble, understand?" Drift said.
"Yes teacher," Slipstream and Jetstorm said.
Then they headed out. Jetstorm and Slipstream were busy patrolling and they saw a couple of minicons who were Autobot allied. Apparently one got his leg caught in the thorn bush. Jetstorm and Slipstream began to help get him free. "Thank you," the minicon said. "I'm Overrun, this is my brother Runoff," he said.
"Thank you for helping my brother," Runoff said. "We have some friends around here," he said.
"We are happy to help," Slipstream said.
"There are more minicons here on earth?" Jetstorm asked.
"Yes, all buzzsaws like us," Overrun said. "We ended up here after our ship where our deployer's ships were on got attacked our deployers put us in the only escape pods allowing themselves to be taken by the aliens, we haven't seen them since so we began make a life for ourselves here," he said. "Are you missing your deployer too?" He asked.
"No, we sometimes he let's us patrol alone," Slipstream said.
Jetstorm checked his chronometer. "Oh Slipstream it is 15 minutes until three pm, Drift said he wants us back by three pm exactly," Jetstorm said.
"Then we better get going," Slipstream said. "It was nice meeting you two," he said.
"Bye," Jetstorm said. Then Slipstream and Jetstorm left.
"See you two around," Runoff said.
"Come on Runoff we need to get going too," Overrun said. Then they left too.
Jetstorm and Slipstream made it back right in time. "Come on you two there is something you need to see," Drift said. There was a lot of things Slipstream and Jetstorm saw.
"Drift had this planned for weeks," Russell said.
"A special occasion that deserves a special celebration," Bumblebee stated.
"Don't you know what today is my students?" Drift asked. "This is the day I first found the two of you along with it being the day we left Shadow Raker, and it is the day you two became my students," Drift said. "I think it is very special," he said.
Jetstorm and Slipstream realized it was that special day. They were very happy and hugged Drift who returned the hug.
"I have something special for the two of you," Drift said. He pulled out a couple of training swords. "These are training swords, because you to have proven yourselves ready to move up to a higher level of training, once you got the hang of these you will get your own swords. But first you must learn with these swords," he said.
"Wow," Jetstorm said. "I am ready for starting this next step of training," he said.
"As am I," Slipstream said.
"We will bring you honor master Drift," they said at once.
"I know, and I know you will make me proud too, just I am proud today of how far you have come," Drift said.
Then they all hugged once again cherishing the contact.
