Chapter 21
There was happiness because of you. There will be happiness after you.
"I think maybe sweetheart. Felix was trying to send a message by not giving you the right number to reach him." Brooke mentioned. Over dinner later on that day.
"I heard him tell you he works in business. That means he's busy. And travels around. Which makes sense why he wasn't around." Bailey said.
"Lucas suggested we put off our trip together."
"And i'm starting to think he's right." Brooke replied.
"No it's okay. I like Lucas and he cares about you."
"I don't want the trip not to happen because of me." Bailey stated matter of fact.

"Yes that's right. I want to cancel my trip. My suite reservations."
"I'll re book at a later date thanks." Lucas said. As the call ended.
Lucas soon left his place. And drove over to Brooke's.
After knocking on the front door. Brooke let him into the home.
Lucas wrapped her in his arms. Taking her hands in his.
"How's our boy?" Lucas asked.
Brooke sighed deeply. As they made way further into the house.
They soon settled into the living room.
"He's convinced himself it was a mistake."
"The pain and hurt on his face when he told me about the number being disconnected. Still haunts me."
"Fatherhood is a role he pretends to take an active role in."Brooke stated matter of fact.
"I kept the door open for him to have a place in Bailey's life since the moment he was born but he had no interest in it."
"He can blame his parents influence and anything else but his choices. Have been so clear and i hate that i gave my kid a father like this. You don't think about these things when you're a lovestruck teenager."
"Let's change the subject please." Brooke insisted. Quickly wiping the tears welling up in her eyes.
"I'm taking you and Bailey on a weekend away. I think the both of you could use it." Lucas announced.
Brooke wrapped him into her arms in a hug.
She kissed him hard. Lucas kissed her back.
"I love you. I'm just so grateful for you."
"The man you are. What you've brought into our life." Brooke proclaimed.

Bailey had found it just waiting for him. A box sent by his father.
He quickly taken it upstairs before his mom had gotten inside.
Bailey took open he box. A note with various keepsakes
Whenever i thought of you. These found their way to me. Now it's time to share them with you. Dad.
Bailey felt his heart leap as he carefully searched through the items.
