Julieta versión of that day
Since Julieta had another day off, she did what anyone with a job does on a day off, she slept. We see Julieta waking up from her nap feeling refresh, Julieta stretched until she heard her bones pop. She go up and looked at the clock*
Julieta:took a 7 hour nap, my god it felt so good~
Julieta said in a sleepy tone as she got out of her room, she walked down giving a kiss on the cheek to her husband that was finishing the new door. Agustin smiled and looked at his wife*
Agustín:hola mi amor, had a good nap?
Julieta:it was wonderful. Oh I just feel so refresh. I'm gonna go for a walk around the town
Julieta waved goodbye to her husband, she completely ignored Felix when he waved at her. Once outside Julieta looked around, the sunny day didn't match the wet floor. With a shrugged she "borrowed" pepa's favorite pair of shoes and walked out making sure to make the shoes dirty. It gave her a sick sense of joy imagining how pepa will react to this*
Antonio:hola tia!
Julieta heard her little nephew, Julieta looked down at the boy and Gave him a soft smile*
Julieta:hola antonio, shouldn't you be with your friends?
Antonio: I was with my friends, now I'm going with Mirabel
At the word Mirabel Julieta got exited, her smile became bigger and bigger as she got closer to the little boy*
Julieta:is Mirabel back from the forest?
Antonio: yes? She'll be back after an hour of walking back. I was going to go wait for her, at Mr. Jenkins home, Mrs. Jenkins is really nice, and always give me snacks while I wait
Antonio said smiling innocently, happy to finally be getting some alone time with his mother. He missed Julieta's excitement until it was too late*
Julieta:great! Then I'll join you I wanted to spend the day with my daughter today. And now I'm gonna be able to do it
Antonio;w..wait what?
Antonio said with wide eyes, Julieta kissed antonio's forehead and walked ahead to the Jenkins household, she missed Antonio scowling hatefully at the older woman*
Antonio"first Dolores, now Julieta, why can't they leave my mommy alone? I want her all to myself, it's not fair
Antonio thought as angrily as a little 5 year old boy could muster as parce followed the older woman, even parce didn't see anything wrong with his human, since a mother wanting to spend more time with his daughter is something completely natural*
Scene change
Julieta and Antonio made it to household, Julieta's smile became a little smaller seeing the dried out blood on a table not far away, and multiple animal skulls hung up as decorations. With a breath she knocked on the door, after a few moments a woman Julieta hasn't talked to in years opened the door*
Amy:my, ain't this a surprise ? Julieta madrigal the golden child of alma
Julieta:Amy? Amy Natalia?
Julieta said in shocked seeing and old friend from her childhood, Amy was a plump woman, with short brown hair with a few grey hairs starting she show, she had big caramel eyes that were the reason her husband fell for her, her face like Julieta's also had it shares of lines, only difference being Julieta's were there because of stress while Amy was there from smiling*
Amy:it's Jenkins now, how long has it been? 10, 20, 30 years since you last talked to me?
Julieta smile became a little more forced, Amy and Julieta used to be such great friends. But alma put a stop do that when she found out*
Julieta: it's... certainly been a long time
Amy;Oh Antonio honey! Nice to see you again! Come come, come inside I already have the snacks ready, and a nice piece of juicy steak for a certain lazy bum
Amy said ignoring Julieta completely, Antonio smiled brightly, finding it so funny that Julieta was being ignored, the second parce smell the meat he walked inside shooting Amy a few slow blinks. Amy waved her hand dismissively and just smiled*
Amy:I love you too parce, what would we do without our resident bone eater? Now hurry up before the hot chocolate gets cold
Antonio:thanks aunty Amy!
Antonio said with a bright smile ignoring the fact that calling someone else aunty hurt Julieta, but the other ignored Julieta*
Amy:so, thanks for walking Antonio here. It was...ok seeing you again juli, but I got it from here so...
Julieta:w..wait! I uh, actually came since Antonio told me that my daughter would be here. I wanted to spend time with her so...can I come in and wait for her? Please?
Amy looked at Julieta with a bit of a scowl, but she sighed letting her inside, Julieta smiled in appreciation and walked inside the home, she sat down on the living room sofa as Amy went to the kitchen*
Amy:they won't be back for a bit, I'll make some coffee, just stay there
Julieta:thank you I appreciate it, you uh. Have such a lovely home, love the skulls on the wall very... Unique
Julieta said trying to be nice but the home was filled with the skulls, it was a bit creepy, Amy just chuckled*
Amy:you should see them at Halloween, the kids love it. And Mirabel makes the best ghost noises that really scares the bejesus out of them
Julieta:i see, so Mirabel helps you too?
Julieta said a little more happy to move the conversation do the daughter she desperately wants to be closer too*
Amy:your kidding? She helps pretty much everyone in the encanto More then once, honestly this town would go on a riot if she were to ever disappear
Butterflies started to fly inside Julieta's stomach at the thought of Mirabel just one day leaving like Bruno, Julieta kept looking around the room until a picture caught her eyes. It was a family picture, the Jenkins family were off fishing, and in the same picture Mirabel was holding a big fish over her head looking so happy*
Amy:does the Expression "look but don't touch" mean anything to you?
Julieta flinched without realizing it, Julieta got up and grabbed the picture looking at it, more specifically at her daughter. Julieta blushed a bit embarrassed and placed the picture back in to place*
Julieta;I'm...I'm sorry,
Amy:it's fine, like it? It was a family vacation. Mirabel must've caught the biggest fish out of all of us
Julieta sat back down and frowned slightly, she grabbed her cup of coffee and placed it on her lips to hide her pursed lips*
Julieta:if it's, a family vacation why is my daughter with you?
Amy:because we see her as family, same goes for so many people in this town. She's the real flower of encanto not like Isabela no offense
Amy said with a shrugged as she grabbed her own cup and started drinking from it, Julieta placed the cup down and looked at her once friend*
Julieta:that doesn't answer my question
Amy:I know, I was trying to be polite. But you want and answer fine, that day was Mirabel's birthday. My oldest Ponce found her crying and we all decided to take her with us, to cheer her up over the fact that her family forget her special day AGAIN
Amy said her smile not leaving her face once but the sharpness in her tone betrayed the smiling expression. Julieta for her part flinched and looked down on the ground with a haunting expression*
Amy:she even had a dress all picked out and ready, my heart goes out to that girl. Having a mother that doesn't have a backbone to stand up against alma.
Amy wanted to just leave it at that, but decades of resentment fueled her to keep going*
Amy:You know I actually thought you changed, that becoming a mother would make you put your foot down against that puta. I don't know what I expected, always the golden child, always needing to impress your mother. She didn't want you to be friends with the daughter of the garbage man, doesn't want you to be the mother of the giftless madrigal
Julieta:that's diffrent! My mother has changed, we are all trying to change! I'M trying to change and be better for Mirabel
Amy:and how long until you all go back to your old ways? And even if this little act is real, so what?
The conversation was becoming heated as both woman for up in each other's faces*
Amy:Does that magically make up for what that little girl has been through since her ceremony? The missed birthdays, the neglect, the abuse. That girl went through things no child should go through, honestly I admire her for still being able to smile as brightly as she does. You don't get to say your trying to change as if that makes you suddenly a good mother
Amy jabbed her finger on Julieta's chest and gave her a nasty glare*
Amy:since what kind of mother can't stand up for her own children?
They both heard the door opening and stepped away from each other, Arthur, Ponce and Mirabel all walked inside. Julieta smiled looking at her daughter even if the words of Amy were now stuck on her head*
