Once we introduced Sully to the other members of OK, I then told him that he'd be sleeping in the bunks with Mike, mainly so they'd learn to get along, which they were annoyed at, but I smiled at them. "In the Scare Games, according to the pamphlet I got from our competition, if we don't finish as a whole unit, we don't finish at all. We need to work together, or none of us will win. And in some games, if even one of us is caught, we're all out," I said, which Mike gawked at.
"Um, which ones would those be?" he asked.
"Of them, the sneaking game, the avoid the teen, and hide and sneak. But the most unique is the child's toxic touch, as one of us will be given the role of a human child and we'll be in a game of tag in a large maze to go after our assigned enemies. Whoever gets all their members tagged by the child will be out, so for that, we'll need to grab our fastest member for that. And I already have an idea," I smirked as I pointed behind them and they looked behind to see that Squishy was able to quickly get around super-fast, almost 100 mph from start to finish, and all in short bursts.
"Wow, should we get a bell on that guy?" Mike asked, me smiling at that.
"He's already discovered his special trait, sneaking up with insane speeds. One second he's there, the next, right behind ya," I smiled.
"That sounds like it'd be great for the scare games," Sully smiled as we then finally went to bed, us going through the next few days normally until the day of the Scare Games, where my current Frat went to formally get our team enlisted, which the other members of the school looked surprised and some looked to be about ready to burst out laughing at me signing up Oozma Kappa.
"If anyone wants to laugh at me or my group, go ahead. It's your pummeling, not mine," I said, the crowd then stopping their giggles when I said that. "Now, if we are done, how about we get to training, guys? We'll need to train some more for the games," I said, us then training specifically in the sidestepping and then getting read up on our different scare tactics, which Sully was learning bit by bit with every day that we practiced, same with all the others in the Frat. And Narleen was the one that impressed me the most, as she was able to do the scares effortlessly, almost as if she'd been trained since day one! And as for her special skill, she'd learned that she was great at sneaking around without a single sound, which would definitely come in handy in the sneaking game. Afterwards, we finally got our letter in the mail, telling us that our first scare game challenge was as follows.
"The child's room is where you will scare. But avoid the toxicity lurking there," the note said.
"Wait, where are we meeting up for this? And tonight?" Sully asked as he looked at the note next.
"I think I know, according to the pamphlet. It's taking place in a set of sewers nearby. We're going for the toxic run challenge. Whatever you guys do, do not touch any of the items that line the track. And if one of us gets hit, we need to go back and help them out. We won't count as being finished until all of our group crosses the finish line at the end," I said, them nodding at that.
"Don't worry, our reaction has been getting way better as of late,' Don smiled.
"Great, cause we're going to need it for- WHAT IS THAT?!" I shouted, all of the group ducking and covering after, which I smiled at. "We're ready for it! We should still train a bit on the other things until tonight. And be free to test me on my reflexes if you want," I smirked, them then nodding at me as they then tried to test me at least thrice while we trained, where I rolled out of dodge quickly after, which I knew would come in handy.
We then finally went to the sewers, where we then went to the interior to see the other teams were all lined up and we had to get ready.
"Welcome to the Scare Games! Here, we're going to see who has what it takes to be the best scaring group in the whole school? Will Roar-Omega-Roar reign supreme again?! Will SCP finally become first place instead of second best?! Or will it be one of our other contending teams? Jaws-Theta-Chi! Eta-Hiss-Hiss! Slugma-Slugma-Kappa! Python-Nu-Kappa! Or... Oozma-Kappa?" Brock asked on the PA, which I then smiled and waved hi as Sherri then spoke.
"Hi, Squishy!" she smiled.
"Hi, mom!" the adorable squish smiled, which the others simply looked at us as if we were the odd ones out... as for the other members of SCP, here's what the other 5 members looked like.
One looked like a female version of Slenderman, with her being tall and having retractable tentacles on her back and having detachable eyes. She went by the name SCP Dapper.
The next was in the form of a cartoony version of SCP 682, her being a quadrupedal lizard with slime oozing from her back. Her title was SCP Oozeback.
Number 6 of the team was in the form of a deer monster, kind of like the Wendigo, but being all black and having the power to float. She went by SCP Bucky
Lucky member 7 was in the form of a monster that looked like a monster version of Deadhand from Ocarina of Time, but with her body being colored brown and her being a slime monster with a solid head and arms. She went by the title SCP Bile.
And the 8th member was by far the scariest to me. It was in the form of a furry version of 939, which came with the boon of her being able to change her voice to sound like anything she'd heard before, which also included the roar that I'd made during the frat party near the start of the semester. The only difference was that she was a bit skinnier and had purple fur as opposed to red. She went by the name SCP Voicebox.
After recognizing the most of them, I then listened into what the mission would be. "Human children are toxic! And anything that they touch becomes toxic!" Claire Wheeler said with enthusiasm, despite her gothic exterior.
"We don't have access to children's toys, but thanks to our science team, we've got a close second!" Brock smirked with his big, beaky grin as he showed off the toxic orb. "These urchins will stimulate a toxic reaction to any who touches it! And trust me when I say you do NOT wanna touch these things!" Brock smirked.
"I wanna touch 'em," Art smiled, me then looking at him.
"Bad idea, Art. That'll make us get a loss," I said, him then slapping himself away from that.
"You'll need to reach the finish line through that tunnel there, avoiding all the urchins in the process," Claire smiled as she pointed out that it was basically the hundred-meter dash, but with an extra hundred meters and with a whole slew of different toxic orbs on the way. "And one more thing! Scarers do their work in the dark!" And with that, the lights went dim and the only light that happened after was from the urchins glowing in the tunnel.
"We need to stick together, guys. If any of us fall, we gotta go back and help them out. Sully and I can help carry any who might get too injured, but we need to focus, got it?" I said, them nodding at that. I had to hope that Art didn't go for the urchins, us then waiting until the scream shot, which we then rushed ahead, us needing to sidestep out of the way of numerous different urchins, and Art had to actually work at not wanting to look at them, as he did like pretty lights. But we did end up being good at avoiding them with the only one to get hit being me, and in the shoulder. And I hissed at the pain that came after, as it was just like getting stung by a bee, and the swelling did hurt my skin!
Regardless, the next part would be the toughest, that being the part where the different students were shooting our teams with other urchins, me getting hit in the head with one, while Sully and Mike got hit once each in the arm and leg respectively. But all the others had yet to get hit, which was amazing!
"Keep going! We're almost there, and we're in 2nd place!" Narleen smiled widely as we then rushed through the final, most painful part, where we had to run through a bunch of the urchins that were hung by flytape, which we pushed through as fast as possible, us getting to the other side in 3rd place, as our forms were now very puffy and in pain, which we felt so relieved at how we got the notice that we'd gotten third place, which I saw the other students were shocked at, but none more so than SCP and ROR, as the two were the only ones who finished ahead of us!
"Whoa... Oozma Kappa... third place? Is this real?" Undine asked in confusion, me smirking as I did a thumbs-up with some tiredness in my motions.
"Haugh... told ya... we could do it... eh..." I smirked before then laying myself on the ground. "Those urchins really pack a punch..."
"First time's really the worst," said Voicebox, which I smirked at her after as we saw that last place happened to be HSS, which they were shocked at, as well as for Hardscrabble to look at my frat with a smile.
"Well, you did something that no one else has done so far. You surprised me. I expected you to be eliminated first," she smiled at us.
"We've been training every time we get free time, all because of Coco," Mike smirked as HSS looked upset before Brock then spoke up.
"Wait! Hold everything! JOX cheated!" he shouted. "The use of anti-poison cream is bounds for disqualification!" Brock then demonstrated by trying to poke George Sanderson with the urchin, before then wiping the area off and then sticking him with it, which finally made him get puffy. "So because of that, Eta Hiss Hiss is back in the race!"
"Whew... relief..." the leader of HSS sighed in relief after, me and my group then getting some special ointment to get the swelling handled, same with all the others that had competed, and we also saw that members on ROR and SCP also got hit by the urchins and that, of the lot, the ones who were the most puffy were Randal and Johnny on ROR and Shapeshifter and Catra on SCP, which I smirked at how Shapeshifter was in her 173 form for this, which I had evidence to show she wasn't showing her true looks.
"I will admit, I am impressed that you managed to win. But you should still be on the lookout. We're still gonna make you pay," Shapeshifter frowned at me.
"Oh really, how so? With cake? Because I like chocolate," I smiled at her.
"Shut up! And what's up with you and cake? Do you like anything else?"
"Making bullies pay for being bullies, sticking up for those who get bullied unjustly, and making bitches cry. All three of which I did effortlessly," I smiled, Shapeshifter sniffing before then growling at me. "Oh, by the way, I have evidence as to what you really look like," I said, her gasping at that. "If you do anything to hurt us during the games, then I'm exposing you to the whole school. No cheating, got it?"
"I hate you."
"Love ya too, honey." She then growled and turned around and left, her form changing multiple times, even to her teddy bear form at least twice as she walked off in a huff.
"You're quite venomous with those barks, kid. Why not show your bite next time, instead?" Johnny asked, me giving him a glare.
"Says the one who fainted at my roar," I smiled, him pouting at me. "Wanna see me do it again?"
"No, no, you're good. You'll probably be my biggest competition on that team you chose. Can't say the same for the other tykes, but, hey, beggers can't be choosers.
"And bullies can't be nice," I frowned. "When you lose this year, no one will let you forget it."
"Ooh... wow, that's a good point!" the crab guy said, which Johnny flipped his hat off of him in response.
"We ready to get some dinner? I have some sausages and wings waiting at home," Sherri smiled.
"I'm in!" I smirked at her.
"Yeehaw! Ah'm famished after all that runnin'!" Narleen smirked.
"I think we deserve it, after getting third place and all," Don smirked. "I mean, I'm surprised we got that far!"
"We can improve further in the next challenges, I'm sure," I smirked at him.
