Chapter 7: Party

Officer Trudge and the police force thanked Team 5Ds for aiding in apprehending the tech thieves. After posing for several photos, they returned to Zora's Garage in the late afternoon.

"This is going to be a great Christmas with all of us together!" smiled Bruno.

"We need to get Jordan and the kids here too, now that it's safe," Radley said.

"I'll call them right now," said Kalin.

"I'm sure news of our victory has spread like wildfire!" boasted Jack.

"It just barely happened," Radley chuckled.

Jordan and the kids were relieved and thrilled. They would be right out.

"They're coming over right now," smiled Kalin.

"Great," Radley said.

"Nice!" grinned Leo. "What should we have for our Christmas meal?"

"We have turkey, chicken, ham ... or we could have them all!" Bruno said cheerily.

"I think that would be overdoing it just an itty-bit," Radley chuckled.

"How about we go with the ham?" chuckled Crow.

"Sure!" Bruno said. "I'll get it going!"

"Do you know how to cook?!" Jack retorted.

"Uh, maybe I should help you out, Bruno. Just in case," said Crow.

"I'll help too," Radley said, although he should take it easy.

"Maybe you should rest and let us handle it, Radley," said Crow.

Radley sighed a bit but nodded. "Yeah, probably. Maybe I could sit down and make a salad or mash potatoes or something."

"Alright, sounds good," smiled Crow, giving him a thumbs up. He then went to the kitchen to prepare the ham.

"I'll help with the vegetables," said Akiza.

"Great," Radley smiled. He named some he'd like to put in the salad.

"We'll help too," Luna smiled.

"Same here!" grinned Leo.

Soon everyone was pitching in to help. The house soon emitted a fragrance that made everyone's mouth's water.

"This is soooo good!" Scotch exclaimed.

"Hey, you have to wait for dinner!" snapped Carly.

"I'm just smelling it!" Scotch shot back.

"No fighting in the house, you two!" scolded Akiza.

Radley started singing a Christmas song while the food was baking. Kalin played his harmonica to the tune. Some of the others started joining in too.

After the song ended, Kalin thought of something. "You know something funny?" he asked.

"What's that?" Radley asked.

"Well, remember how we told that fraud businessman we wanted him to make posters for us?"

"Yeah?" Radley said in amusement.

"I'm a bit disappointed that it didn't actually happen. Not to mention the documents Yusei and Bruno gave him were fake."

"Hmm, well, we could have him really do it," Radley smirked.

"I suppose so. But maybe we should do it with a more respected person."

"Yes, that would be preferable," Radley said.

"And also, does anyone here actually want to go to one of our concerts?" wondered Kalin.

There were many choruses in the affirmative.

"I'm sure everyone in town would come," Radley smiled.

"You really think so, Radley? What do you think, Yusei, Jack, Crow?" Kalin turned to look at his adopted brothers.

"I think so too," Yusei said.

"Yeah!" Crow said.

"You can count me in," smiled Jack.

"Yes!" Scotch exclaimed.

"Certainly!" nodded Akiza.

Sooner or later, the Jordan, Nico, and West arrived at the door.

"Hey everyone!" greeted Kalin.

"Everyone here would be happy to come. And I know all the town would," Jordan said.

"We saw the news!" exclaimed West. "You guys actually stopped those crooks!"

"We sure did," Yusei smiled.

"You are amazing!" smiled Nico.

"Our dragons are too," Radley smiled

"That's right!" grinned Carly.

"You've really got a big story to write now," Luna smiled.

"It'll be the biggest one in a long time!" said Carly.

"Will you talk about magic in it?" Leo asked.

"I'm not sure. This isn't the first time New Domino City has been exposed to magic, though," said Carly.

"Do they believe in it then?" Radley wondered.

"I'm sure there're some people who still deny magic," added Kalin.

"Yes, there probably always will be," Radley said. "It was hard for me at first."

"So, how should I describe the Three Ice Dragons?" asked Carly.

"Powerful rare cards?" Radley mused. "No ... then people will try to get them from us. Although, that might happen no matter how you say it."

"Yeah, they said that the first time Yusei Accel Synchro'd Shooting Star Dragon," shrugged Crow. "Can't stop the press from saying that."

"Yes, so just describe them however you see fit," Radley smiled.

"Alright, thanks. I will," smiled Carly.

Radley smiled and gave her a thumbs-up. Carly smiled back and returned the gesture. Crow got up to check on the ham. Radley worked more on the potatoes.

Soon the food was ready.

"Alright! Now this is what I call a feast!" cheered Leo.

Radley grinned. "Everything looks great!"

"Before we settle down, does anyone have anything they would like to say?" asked Kalin.

"I'm grateful we're all okay," Yusei said.

"I lost my mind thinking you got shot, Yusei," sighed Kalin.

Yusei nodded. "And when you thought it was Radley. I was horrified. But we're all fine." He smiled.

"You seriously freaked us out when you two fell," added Jack.

"What did you think, Bruno?" asked Kalin.

"I was really worried," Bruno said. "I thought Yusei was probably okay, but I wasn't sure about Radley."

"I had the same concerns when I examined him," said Akiza. "It's a miracle the bullet missed both of them."

"Radley did some fancy moves to save!" Scotch grinned.

"He trained a lot in town!" smiled West.

Radley chuckled. "I am pretty fast on my feet. I'm glad I was this time."

"We're all glad you're ok," smiled Crow. "Now, why don't we enjoy Christmas?"

The meal was delicious and many went for seconds.

"Do you think the crooks learned their lesson that stealing from others is wrong?" asked West.

"Probably not," Bruno said.

"They can try to steal from us all they want. We'll just keep on smashing them!" exclaimed Jack.

"Hopefully they'll stay in jail," Bruno said.

"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on them," said Crow.

"Great!" Bruno chirpped.

"I wonder what fate awaits us for the new year?" asked Kalin.

"Hopefully good things," Radley said.

"Yeah. I hope I can fully learn to control my powers.

"We all believe in you, Kalin," Yusei said.

"I've got your back!" smiled Carly.

"And we always do, of course," Radley smiled.

"You're not alone anymore," smiled Akiza.

"And you never will be again," Yusei promised.

"Thank you, everyone," smiled Kalin.

Radley gave a thumbs-up.

"The meal was epic!" Scotch said.

"Who's ready for dessert?" asked Luna.

"Probably everyone," Radley laughed.

Luna giggled as she and Leo took out their home-made cherry pie.

"That looks amazing!" Scotch gushed.

"Thanks Scotch! Our mother taught us to make this!" smiled Leo.

"So cool!" Scotch said. "The crust looks so thick and perfect!""

"Thank you! We worked hard on making sure it turned out good!" said Luna.

"And you did," Yusei smiled.

"Let's all dig in!" Scotch said.

"Thanks, Yusei!" said Leo.

They all helped themselves to the pie. They also had ice cream on the table. Everyone enjoyed the delicious treats.

"What are your New Year's wishes?" asked Akiza.

"Protecting Yusei and the citizens!" smiled Bruno.

"Food, and happiness, and togetherness!" Scotch said.

"That sounds pretty good to me," Radley chuckled.

"Same here, you can't work hard if you are starving!" added Crow.

"Yes!" Scotch said.

Radley chuckled.

"Speaking of working hard, I'll keep on refining my dueling skills!" said Jack.

"Like you always do," Crow grunted.

Carly merely giggled. "I want to train too, so I can have an awesome fortune as a Dragon Bearer!"

Radley chuckled. "And I'm sure you will. You were chosen for a reason."

"Do you guys know why though?" asked Carly.

"We don't really know why any of us were chosen," Radley said.

"Especially me," said Kalin. "Considering what I did in the past."

"Obviously some force knows that you are capable of doing good," Radley smiled.

"I suppose you're right," smiled back Kalin.

Yusei nodded. "And you deserved the chance to prove it."

"I wonder if Duel Spirits can read your mind or something?" asked Kalin.

"That would be spooky," Scotch said.

"I'm sure some can," Luna said.

"Luna got her dragon from the Spirit World, too," said Leo.

Luna nodded.

"There's probably more enemies we'll have to fight," Radley said.

"Agreed. There're probably other guys out there who wants to get their hands on Yusei's tech," frowned Crow.

"No doubt. And there could be others who want to rule the world," Radley said.

"Kind of reminds me of that 'Tears For Fears' song," said Kalin.

Radley laughed. "Pretty much."

Scotch started singing it.

"Wow, he's a really talented singer," smiled Akiza.

"He is," Radley smiled.

"We should all sing for the New Years," said Nico.

"Yes! A concert!" Scotch grinned.

"And this one isn't for money," added Kalin.

"Yeah, just for fun!" Scotch said.

"Anyone want to join in?" asked West.

"All the Bunch," Radley chuckled.

"I figured," laughed Kalin.

"I want to join too," Radley said.

"Me too!" chirped West.

"We can sing as well!" Luna said.

"That's right!" grinned Leo.

"I'm sure almost all of us would be happy to participate," Yusei said.

"Last call for participants," said Nico.

"I doubt Jack'll do it," Crow said.

"Very true," chuckled Kalin.

"Hmph," Jack grunted.

"So then we just have to plan what to sing," Radley mused.

"Hmm, since it's the new year, we have to choose upbeat songs," said Akiza.

"And we could still sing some Christmas songs!" Scotch said.

"That sounds great!" smiled Carly.

"Yeah, it can mostly be a Christmas concert, maybe with whatever other happy songs we want," Radley said.

"Then let's this show begin!" said West.

Scotch leaped onstage and started a happy Christmas song. Most of the other team members joined him for the concert and sang along. Team 5Ds spent the remainder of Christmas performing and having a jolly good time.
