I didn't really expect me to be back. And it's been a long time since I last read PJO, so pardon my mistakes. And even though I want to continue this, I am not quite inspired to do so. Am just brute forcing this chapter cause I feel like its a responsibility. As my name says I am only a reader. I just posted the first chapter cause I wanted to read some story like this. So even though I had an idea for the 1st chapter and did it pretty well in my opinion, I don't really have an idea on how to continue since I am no writer. There's also quite a bit of pov switch in this chapter. I don't know why, but that's how it came to me.

I AM ONLY A READER

The twins came outside after processing what happened even though they had no clue what the fuck happened.

Mr. Brunner called "Ah... That would be my pen, thank you Percy".

'The fuck' Percy thought along with a glance from Penny. He clearly didn't grab the sword/pen to cap and even if he had, they have no idea to turn the sword back into a pen. And yet, his hand held the whole pen. Not just the cap. Just how...

And as it went, they had no teacher named Mrs. Dodds, their pre algebraic teacher was someone named Ms. Kelly. No one had any idea to who Mrs. Dodds was and the twins got 'Are you crazy?' looks from anyone. Though Grover seems to be hiding something. He was clearly lying. Unfortunately, they couldn't get anything out of his mouth. Somehow the academic year came to an end without anything special. Well, nothing special for normal people. Grover somehow succeeding in convincing the P&P duo to not get into trouble. Well, it had the consequence of breaking the last remaining furniture in their room apart from their beds. And even one of their beds got...let's say twelve-year-olds fighting might not destroy the strong frame of a bed in the case of normal people. But unfortunately, normal is not applicable to the twins. As said previously taking on ten others would be possible for the twins. And ten because of 4 hands cannot beat 20, at least not untrained. And since they wouldn't be able to request for new furniture because of their threat of expulsion, even if they wouldn't be able to come next year anyway, they bunked together. Luckily, they were careful about the safety of the bed when one decided to choke the other or kick them out of the bed.

The last exam came around, and the day to go home arrived. Grover came around to go home with them and they allowed since the boy looked afraid of something. Even though they couldn't find anything on what's on his mind. At the bus stop, they saw a trio of grandmas sewing something that looked like a sock for an elephant. They somehow made Grover more nervous even though that shouldn't be possible because of how he was already acting. The old ladies cut a thread, and this seems to the last straw for Grover as he went pale and suddenly pushed the twins into the bus even though the current one only goes through two blocks far from their home. They got a card from Grover about a summer card on some strawberry farm on Long Island. And he really insisted on escorting them to their home and asked them to wait while he made a call and went to make one. And being our lovely twins, they just ditched him on the spot.

Now the question was on how to avoid their stepfather Smelly Gabe. Unfortunately, they couldn't avoid him. But, since they had enough experience with him, they could make policies on how to save whatever the little amount of money they could save from him. At first they didn't succeed, and just got cussed at strongly for lying. As they say, practice makes perfect. Today Gabe couldn't find any money on them for his gambling or beer. It was a magic trick they learned. Though much harder to execute since they were small. Even though quite considerable large for their age group, compared to an adult they were much smaller. And executing a card trick with cash is hard, especially when there are multiple banknotes and coins. Thankfully they were two and only one Gabe.

Their mother the wonderful, best mother in the world Sally Jackson came home later with some blue cookies. The history of blue food is very simple Gabe said, "There is no such thing as blue food". Hence Sally made everything blue. The children loved it. They talked for a few minutes and Sally Jackson being the best mom in the world made the announcement of going to Montauk in their cabin where she met their dad. She made Gabe enough food for the weekend and took Gabe's car while he talked as if he was lending the car to a drunkard who didn't know how to drive. The irony.

The beach, and the cabin. It is our happy place. We would be there mostly on our birthday, but also on other days if the situation permitted. As in us being home and mom being free and getting the bastard's car. Though today, there's more to talk than just relaxing and enjoying on the beach. We aren't dumb you know. Well, a person can be dumb. But if two people see and experience the same things...then it's not hallucinations. No matter how close we are to each other, I don't think it's possible to hallucinate the same things. No matter the situation, what happened with Mrs. Dodds can't be just written off.

We confronted mom about this, but I couldn't just let Percy be blunt. Not without mom worrying about us at least. So, first we showed her that we are alright. Mom didn't know why we were doing some weird exercises that stretches our flexibility to limit, and some pushups, squats and so in front of her like we were putting on a show with her as audience. Then came the hard part.

"No no no" cried mom. Though why we didn't have an idea. She at least believed us...I think, why else would she have this reaction. She mumbled something about not wanting to part with us and it being too early. What she was referencing about we don't know. P took some time calming her down. I wanted to help, but I was drawing blank. What he did was quite simple, he hugged her. I joined of course, though the return hug from mom was quite a bit harder than expected and she was crying about not wanting to let us go. Well for all purpose of us being the same in mind, it looks like there're some differences since he was the one who figured to hug mom first. Nevertheless, I know we are different, well not much but there's differences like blue cookies being better than blue pancakes. P disagrees of course but I know better. Now back to the situation at hand, fuck this ADHD for not concentrating on important stuff. She finally began to stop crying.

Mom started, "You need to go to camp, I will explain everything on the way. Now keep in mind that the only reason your father couldn't be with us is for your protection. And I rejected his offers of going to Atlantis. Keep his identity hidden at all costs, he is". "Poseidon", we finished together. As I said we aren't dumb, and mother always tells he is lost at sea, not dead. But after all that alone isn't enough. The one-eyed monsters we sometimes see, being able to talk fish, able to hold breath underwater for a long time, maybe we don't need to hold our breath at all, after all we are children of the sea, we should be able to breath underwater. And finally, that look on Mr. Brunner's face when I answered his question about "What is the relevance of these myths for our life?" or something like that and I answered, "It will help us pass this class". Of course, the final clue was Atlantis. Well, he may be any other minor sea deities on Atlantis, but it was clear he was Greek since we somehow were able to read somethings on the Greek section on the museum. Of course, with half bat turned Mrs. Dodds chasing us, neither of us could get a good look at those inscriptions on those stone plates. But that sword I threw, there was something on it. I could read it but, I didn't have time. And that night of researching the day after at the library confirmed it for us. Though we could also make out Latin, there's a feeling, as if it's wrong. So, Greek he is. And I don't think just about anyone can invite people to Atlantis, so a major player in there. Still there is Triton, that dolphin Delphin I think and quiet probably a few more. But it didn't feel right. Poseidon was our first thought and mom confirmed it with a nod. As an afterthought, those fishes in aquarium called us lord and lady.

What camp was she talking about? Percy didn't know neither did he think his sister knew. But whatever that is a look at his sister was enough to confirm she reached the same conclusion. Monsters. If we are demigods, there's always monsters after them. Though why didn't they find us before when we clearly saw some one-eyed monsters. Something cyclone? I can't remember. There was a knock on the door. A frantic knocking. I went to open the door and saw Grover with hoofs for legs, he was panicking. Something about something coming after us. It was just then that I noticed the rain, almost a storm. We didn't have time to pack anything us mom just told us to get in the car and we got in. To the camp, I think.
