Hogwarts. At the end of the month

After the duel, Hermoine and Ron have fallen out. And both complain to Danny about the other. Danny, for his part, has declared being neutral. Danny says that it's between Hermoine and Ron. And that they need to work it out for themselves. Hermoine asks Danny about the note, And Danny says."I have no idea who sent it. But from your story. It might have been Peeves."

Hermoine replies."Why would Peeves help us?" Danny answers."Peeves dislikes Filch more than anybody. From what I heard, Filch enjoys Punishing students. So what better way to mess with him than to help students escape his grasp? I won't bother asking Peeves. He enjoys messing with everybody."

Hermoine says."That makes a lot of sense." That night, Snape visits Danny in his Dorm room and gives Him descriptions of a few spells.

Snape says."Mr. Fenton takes these. Flitwicks, way of fighting might work in a sanctioned Match, but outside of it. You might want a few creative solutions." He gives Danny the Full-body bind Curse, The Bludgeoning Hex, The Dancing Jinx, and the Healing charm.

Snape then says."As you already suspect, some are more difficult than others. And Mr. Fenton in self-defense only! Instigating fights and duels could lead to your expulsion."

Danny says."I understand, professor." Snape says."See that you do, Mr. Fenton. I would hate to have to find another Seeker. I do, however, wonder Why you did not come to me in the first place. Im your head of house."

Danny replies."I asked around. Students from all four houses described Professor Flitwick as a dueling champion. So I thought he was the most obvious choice to ask." Snape says."I can't argue with your reasoning, Mr Fenton. But If you require any assistance. I would prefer it if you asked me instead." Danny replies."I will keep your suggestions and advice in mind, professor."

In the days leading up to Halloween Danny, And Hermoine continues to excel in class. Danny has sent out messages to his family and friends again. Hermoine has sent letters To both Her parents and Jazz. They both enjoy writing to each other. And both of them like the same things and school subjects. In his free time, Danny splits his time between his friends and trying to learn the spells given to him by Snape and Flitwick.

But things continue to deteriorate between Hermoine and Ron. And it all comes to a boiling point at Halloween's charm class.

Flitwick says."Today class, we are finally going to use magic in this class. The spell today is the levitation charm. Now, remember the wrist movement we have been practicing. And dont forget the words. Wingardium Leviosa. Being very clear in your pronunciation is very important in charms."

Flitwick pairs up the students. Hermoine is with Ron, and Neville is with Sheamus. And Danny is Paired up with Daphne.

Ron is waving his wand like a madman and says."Wingardium Levosar." Hermoine stops him and says."You are saying it wrong. The correct phrase is. Wing-gar-dium Levi-o-sa. Make the 'gar' nice and long."

Ron snaps and says."You do it then if you're so clever."

Hermoine rolls up her sleeve flicks her wand, and says."Wingardium Leviosa." The feather rose off the desk and hovered about four feet above their heads.

Flitwick says."Oh, Well done. Everyone look, Miss Granger has done it." Fifteen Minutes later, Danny, after several tries, Manages. To successfully get his feather to hover as well. Flitwick says."Well done, Mr. Fenton."

Ron, however, was in a bad mood for the rest of the class. The class ends. And Flitwick asks Danny to stay behind. Flitwick asks."How are your extra studies going, Mr. Fenton?" Danny replies."I made some Progress on the Tickling charm. And The Disarming Charm. Due to reading ahead for my Defence against the Dark Arts. I can use the Knockback Jinx."

Flitwick replies."Good, it seems that you're progressing at a good pace. Mr. Fenton. Here is some advice for your studies. Picture clearly in your mind what you expect from the Charm. And Focus your Magic into your wand and Into that shape. That is the key to success in charms. Now go enjoy Halloween."

Danny replies."Will do, professor, and thank you for your help and advice." Flitwick smiles And replies."You're welcome, Mr. Fenton."

While Danny is talking with Flitwick, Ron rants about Hermoine."It's Leviosa not Levosar. She is a nightmare, honestly. I have no idea how Danny can stand her. It's not like he needs her for homework." Hermoine overhears this and is deeply hurt. And she walks past Ron with tears in her eyes.

Neville says."I think she heard you, Ron." Ron starts to feel a bit guilty. And they head towards the next class." Danny heads towards his next class. Unaware of the incident between Ron and Hermoine.

After his class. He sees Justin, who pulls him aside and says."Have you heard what happened between Weasley and Granger?" Danny replies."No, I have no idea." Justin says."Weasley said something horrible, and she did not take it well at all. I heard she is crying for a while now. In the first-floor girls' bathroom." Danny says."Thanks, Justin, I owe you one." Justin says."Happy Halloween." Danny says."You too, Justin."

Danny walks off thinking."Nothing good happens on Halloween." after a while. He finds Hermoine and asks."Hermoine, are you okay?" She asks."Danny, is that you?" Danny replies."Yeah, it's me." She asks in a soft voice."Danny, why are you so nice to me?"

Danny replies."What do you mean we are friends, aren't we?" Hermoine says."Why? Nobody understands why you even talk to me." Danny replies."Our early childhoods were much the same. My parents were Mad Scientists by muggle standards. Add that with the occasional Accidental magic. And you get that I was not exactly Mr. Popular either. I felt like a freak until my parents told me the truth."

Danny continues."As for why I like being friends with you, You remind me of Jazz and my parents to a lesser degree. Like Jazz, you might be a bit bossy and pushy. But like Jazz, you have a kind heart. And with you around, im not as homesick. And we do have a lot of fun together."

Hermoine replies softly."Do you mean that?" Danny replies."Im here in the middle of the day in the girl's bathroom." Hermoine walks up to Danny, hugs him, and says."Thank you, Danny." They spend the next few hours talking about all sorts of things And Getting to know each other much better. And hermoine tells danny what happened between Ron and her.

Danny says."Im sorry you had to go through that." Suddenly, they hear a grunting-like noise. and Danny says."Crud, I think we are no longer alone." They turn around and see a giant mountain troll swinging down his club. Danny grabs Hermoine and pulls her out of harm's way. But at the same time drops, his wand. The mountain troll readies for another attack when a voice says."Oy pea brain over here."

Ron and Neville are standing in the doorway, Danny says."I'm glad to see you two." Neville says."Danny, you hurt." Danny replies."It's just a scratch. We need to knock it out." Ron and Neville are throwing everything they can find at the troll. And Neville asks."How?" Danny says."Today's lesson, one of you two must use the levitation charm on its club."

Ron grabs his wand and says."Wingardium Leviosa." The club floats out of the troll's hand. And Floats above the giant's head. And Ron releases the spell, knocking out the troll.

Hermoine asks."Is it dead?" Danny says."It's just knocked out. I think we better leave before it wakes up." And as Danny finishes talking. The teachers walk in with Justin. McGonagall looks around and asks."Mr Fenton, Miss Granger, are you both alright?" Hermoine says."Danny got hurt while pulling me out of harm's way."

Danny says."It's not as painful as it looks." Sprout says." -Fletchley told us neither of you were at the feast and that we might find you here." McGonagall says."Mr. Fenton and Miss Granger had no idea about the troll. You, Mr Weasley And, Mr Longbottom better have a good reason why you two are here."

Hermoine whispers."If we tell them, Ron will get in trouble." Danny replies softly."trust me." Danny says."Hermoine was upset, professor." McGonagall replies."And why was she upset? Mr Fenton." Ron gulps, and Danny replies."This place as someone with no experience of the magical world can be a bit much." Justin replies."A bit?" McGonagall says."Now is not the time for cheek, Mr. Finch-Fletchley."

Danny continues."I think it was all a bit too today for her. So I came to check on her. And we lost track of time." McGonagall says."That explains why the both of you are still in uniform." Danny continues his story."Then we heard a noise. And we turned around to see a troll take a swing at us with his club." Sprout says."Miss Granger said you pulled her out of harm's way. But it seems you got injured while doing so, ."

Danny replies."The troll was reading another attack when luckily. Ron and Neville showed up. They knocked out the troll using his club without them. Hermoine and I could have very well been dead."

McGonagall says."Mr. Longbottom And Mr. Weasley, I give you both fifteen points for coming to the aid of fellow students in need. But I subtract five points each for recklessly endangering yourselves. Next time, tell a prefect or teacher. But You two have proven yourselves. Today, as true Gryffindors."

McGonagall then turns to Danny and says. "Mr. Fenton, I give you twenty points for saving the life of a fellow student. And Mr. Fenton, you have my compliments for going out of your way To care for a friend in need. I can see now why the sorting had so much difficulty placing you. Now, Mr. Fenton, Madam Pomfrey will heal you, So take a seat, Mr. Fenton. It won't take long."

Madam Pomfrey runs a diagnostic charm and says."You lucky it only grazed you, Mr Fenton." She casts a healing charm and says."You be good as new by tomorrow, Mr Fenton."

McGonagall walks up to hermoine and asks."Are you alright now, Miss Granger? My door is always open for my Gryffindors. If you feel the need to talk to someone." Hermoine says."Thank you, professor." McGonagall says."why won't the four of you head to the great hall? We have some food delivered to you. So that you can calm down before you face your classmates."

Danny asks."Can Justin join us? You would have never found us in time if he did not warn you." Justin says."The feast continues in the dorms. But I do appreciate the invitation. Im glad to see that all of you are unharmed."

Sprout says."I will take -Fletchley back to the Hufflepuff dungeon." McGonagall says."We will clean up here. Your food should be ready for you. By the time you arrive in the great hall."

Danny and the others are walking towards the great hall, Ron says."Thank you both for covering for me." He then turns to hermoine and says."Im sorry for today, Friends?" Hermoine says."Friends."

The four enjoy the dinner and get to know each other better. And Hermoine is shaken up but Happy that she finally has some friends. After all, there are some things. That binds people together. And surviving a giant monster is one of them.

The next day, the day of Danny's first Quidditch match, The Slytherin team gathers. And Flint says."Our only chance is that Fenton catches the snitch as soon as possible." Danny says."Leave it to me."

They gather in front of the arena, and Flint asks."Nervous Fenton?" Danny says."A little, but once the game starts. I will be fine." They head into the arena and see the Gryffindors waiting for them.

Both teams gather around the middle of the pitch. and Madam Hooch says."I expect A Nice clean Game from both teams." She blows the whistle, and the game commences.
