In the next few months, Danny and the others continue to learn the basics of many forms of magic. Danny also won his second Quidditch match. And then Hermoine says."I finally found it." Danny replies."Way to go, Hermoine!" Hermoine beams at Danny's compliment and says."Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the Philosopher's Stone. That's what's hidden on the third floor. That is what Fluffy is guarding."
Hermoine then says."Let's ask Hagrid." Danny replies."let's go tomorrow. It's almost curfew." Hermoine says."Okay, Danny, I will talk to Neville and Ron and explain what we found."
Unbeknownst to Danny. Hermoine, Ron, And Neville decided to go that night. And they got caught. Suddenly, Snape walks in and says."Mr Fenton, follow me. It is important." Danny replies."Of course, Professor."
Danny follows Snape into a classroom. And he sees Ron, Neville, Hermoine, and Draco for some odd reason. Also in the room is McGonagall.
Danny asks."Why im I here, Professor?" McGonagall says."Your friends were caught after curfew Mr, Fenton." Danny replies."And this involves me how?" McGonagall signs and says."Your friends were visiting Hagrid, who seemed to have a dragon." Danny says."A dragon is that cool. But not good. But my question remains is why I am here?"
Snape says."Your friends will be serving detention in the dark woods. And we would like to send you along to keep them and Hagrid in line. Naturally, we will reward you for your help." Danny says."Very well, Professor. I do have one question, however."
Mcgonagall says."Go ahead, Mr. Fenton." Danny says."Can a prefect join us? It would help to have a trained witch or wizard with us." Snape replies."I approve of your practical and logical reasoning Mr, Fenton. The prefects and professors are unfortunately otherwise engaged."
McGonagall says."Im sure you will be able to manage Mr Fenton. But I, too. Approve of your logic and reasoning."
Danny and the others meet Hagrid, who is sniffing and says."Dumbledore has send Norbert to Romania." Hermoine replies."Thats good. That means he can be with his kind." Hagrid asks."But what if he does not like Romania?" Danny replies."Im sure that Dumbledore would make sure. He ends up in a good place." Hagrid seems to be relieved by this and says."He is a good man. Dumbledore."
Danny asks."What are we looking for, Hagrid?" Hagrid replies."Unicorns have been attacked and killed. Our job is to look for clues." They walk into the forest. And Hagrid suggests they split up. Danny is paired with Draco and Fang. Draco is complaining by saying."This. Is servants work, Wait till my father hears about this." Danny tells Draco."Stop complaining, Peacock." Draco says."And why is that Fenton?" Danny points to a shadowy figure and says."We are not alone."
Danny says."Draco Run." Draco runs off as fast as he can. And Danny readies his wand and says."Surrender." The figure charges towards Danny. and Danny yells."Rictusempra." The figure dodges Danny's spell. And Danny tries again."Flipendo." And the being dodges. Again. Danny thinks to himself."I need to use my ghost powers to get out of this."
Suddenly, a centaur appears and drives off the creature. And the centaur says."Young wizard, it's not safe here. It's a terrible crime to kill a unicorn." Danny replies."Thanks, I owe you one." And the centaur says."Mars shines brightly tonight." Hagrid says."Hello Firenze, I see you met Young Daniel." The centaur says."Be careful, young Daniel. You seem to have a touch of destiny about you."
Danny finished his exam and got almost perfect marks. Only Hermoine scored higher overall. He also won his third Quidditch match. And on a beautiful day, Snape says."Why are the four of you here? People might think you up to no good." Hermoine says."Snape plans on getting the stone tonight. We go warn McGonagall." Danny says."I go talk to Hagrid."
Danny finds Hagrid and asks."Hagrid, did anyone ever ask you about the dog?" Hagrid says."Of course, he did. How often do you come across a three-headed dog? But only I and Dumbledore know that you need to use music to get past Fluffy. I should not have said that." Danny says."Thanks, Hagrid." Danny goes to his room and grabs a box.
Flashback.
Jack says."Here son. Take this. This way, you can communicate in the castle with your friends." He gives Danny a box. And Danny says."Thanks, dad, Merry Christmas." Jack says."Merry Christmas, son."
End flashback.
Danny meets up with the others. And Ron says."McGonagall won't listen to us." Neville says."what can we do? We dont have any way to sneak out of the common room." Danny says."I will go." Hermoine says."You can't not alone." Danny gives them a box and says."Find a quiet place. And you can help me with advice."
Ron says."Good luck, mate." Danny says. "Thanks."
That night.
Danny sneaks out and heads towards the third floor. he gently lifts Fluffy's paw and heads towards the trap door.
Danny turns on his communicator. And he lands in a strange plant. Who tries to grab him? Danny asks."Neville, any ideas?" Neville says."you can either relax or use a spell that makes sunlight." Danny says."Lumos Solem." And the plant lets him go. Danny says."Thanks, Neville." Neville says."Anytime, Danny." Danny is in the next room. Flies and captures a key.
In the room that is after that is a giant chessboard. And Danny asks."Ron, Do you fancy a game of wizards chess?" Ron says."Clim on the King, Mate. I talk you through it." And with Ron's advice, Danny wins the chess Game.
In the final room, Hermoine helps Danny with the potion puzzle before Danny heads into the next room. Hermoine says."You a great wizard, Danny you are." Danny says."Not as good as you." And Hermoine says."Books! And cleverness! There are more important things - friendship and bravery. And oh Danny, be careful! You're my best friend. I dont want anything to happen to you." Danny replies."Can I tell Jazz?" Hermoine giggles and says."Good luck, Danny."
Danny turns off his communicator and calls out."Im going Ghost." Danny Transforms. And heads into the mirror chamber.
Danny sees Quirell and says."That's far enough. Quirell." Quirell turns around and asks confused."Who are you?" Danny replies."Im Ghost Boy. Now surrender." A voice says."Let me talk to the boy." Quirell says."Master, you're not strong enough." The voice says."Im strong enough for this."
Quirell takes off his Turban. And to Danny's shock, there is another head on the back of Quirells. The voice says."Im, Lord Voldemort. Now boy. Help me obtain the stone or Die." Danny steps forward and says."Make me sunshine."
Quirell lungs at Danny, and Danny punches Quirell in the face. But because Danny's hands are not wearing gloves Quirell Explodes on impact. And Voldemort flies away.
Danny looks around and says the coast is clear. And Danny transforms back. He walks up to the mirror and sees his family. And suddenly, his pocket feels heavier.
Dumbledore says."Only those who seek the stone but have no desire to use it can retrieve it from the mirror. You have done well, Daniel, and you have saved us from a great evil." Danny tosses Dumbledore the Stone, who says a chant and destroys the stone. Danny asks."What about Mr Flamel?"
Dumbledore chuckles and says."It seems that you and Miss Granger have been busy If you know about Nicolas. Tell me, Daniel, what do you know of him?" Danny replies and says."According to my sister, he was a scribe who owned several shops. And he dabbled in alchemy. He is rumored to have found immorality three centuries later after his supposed death."
Dumbledore chuckles."It seems that there are quite a few witches and wizards. Who is known in the Muggle world as well? As for My friend, he felt that it was time to move on to the next great adventure. he has enough energy to settle his affairs. Daniel, you do not need to feel guilty about Quirell. He was dead the moment he sold his soul to the dark lord."
Danny says."It's not over yet, Professor. He has something that allows him to keep defying death." Dumbledore says."Indeed, by all accounts, he should have died ten years ago. Now, Daniel, what happened here is a complete secret. So naturally, it will be only a matter of time before everyone knows." Danny says."Good night, Professor." Dumbledore says."Good night, Daniel."
The closing feast.
Dumbledore says."Another year has passed at Hogwarts. And before we enjoy our excellent feast. It's time to award the house cup. But certain events need to be taken into consideration. To Neville Longbottom, I award fifty points for expert knowledge of flora and fauna.
To Ronald Weasley, I award Fifty points for the best chess game Hogwarts has seen in many years. To Hermoine Granger, I award fifty points for having a cool head and using her intellect when others were in danger. And Finally, to Daniel Fenton, I give seventy points For saving us from a great evil.
That means Slytherin wins the house cup. Congratulations." Slytherin erupts in celebration. And Snape takes the cup. Dumbledore says."And now, let's enjoy our feast."
The train ride home.
Danny walks towards the rest when a hand pulls him into a compartment. He sees Ron's brothers Fred and George. And they ask."Who are you?" Danny says."Daniel Fenton. Danny for friends." George says."According to our info, it says."Daniel Fenton, but there is a / with the name blurred out." Danny says."I can't tell you. It would put my family in harm's way."
Fred says."Say no more, mate. We understand. All we say is be careful anyone who can fool our intel is not to be messed with." George adds."You took down the dark lord. So you can't be that bad anyway." Danny says."I will, thanks for the heads up." George says."Can I give you a bit of advice?" Danny replies."Sure, go ahead." George says."Tell your friends yourself. Do not let them find out on their own." Danny nods and says."I will."
Fred says."Next year, we will win the cup." Danny walks out of the compartment and says."Bring it."
Danny finds the others and they talk about their holiday plans. And they all four exchange their address info. The train stops in London and they all step out of the train. Danny wishes them all a good summer and the rest echo the sentiment Hermoine gives him a hug and says will see him again soon.
Vlad is waiting for Danny and says."Our plane leaves in four hours, Daniel. Have you said goodbye?" Danny says."Yes Uncle we can leave." Danny waves to his friends and they wave back and Vlad and Danny head towards the airport.
On the plane, Vlad asks how did it go? Danny says."I found my parent's killer and ruined his plans." Vlad says."Well done Daniel. But the war has only just begun." Danny says."I know uncle. And when the time comes I will be ready." Vlad says."of that, I have no doubt Daniel."
