Danny spends the rest of the first month excelling in his classes, including his electives. There is something that disturbs him. Hermoine has taken all five electives. Hermoine seems to be there for all her courses. She even is there for the ones that start at the same time.

Danny also avoids Lupin as much as possible. Worried that Lupin will figure out who he is.

He also spent the month training with Vlad in the Chamber of Secrets. Danny had the things he destroyed fixed with."Reparo." The very next day, after he defeated Tom Riddle. And as there are no students. That can talk to snakes. They can train in secret.

Danny improves with the combat-based training that Vlad gives him. And Vlad tells him. Now that he is a teenager, his powers will increase rapidly. On September 29, the day before Hermoine's birthday. Vlad and Danny have an honest conversation. Vlad Asks."So, Little Badger, have you decided? On how to handle your treasonous godfather?"

Danny replies."I will avoid him if possible and leave it to the Aurors. And if I must fight him, I will not hold my punches. Besides, Im more worried about Lupin. He looks at me like he suspects that im not just who I claim to be."

Vlad says."Might I suggest, in this case, you tell your friends the truth? The truth will come out at the end of this year anyway. They should hear it from you."

Danny replies."Im not looking forward to this conversation." Vlad thinks back to the time he told Jack and Maddy. And says, smirking."Oh, Daniel, it's going to be awful. But it is better than the alternative." Danny asks."When will you be back, Uncle V?" Vlad replies."Not until December, Daniel. Keep training hard."

Hermoine fourteenth birthday.

Danny, in the morning. Finds Hermoine playing with Crookshanks. He hugs her and gives her his Present. Danny says."Happy Birthday, Hermoine." Hermoine smiles and replies."Oh Danny, how did you know I wanted this book?"

Danny answers."I saw you looking that day in the bookstore. I also have another surprise for you. This gift is from Jazz and My parents."

Hermoine pulls out a communicator similar to Danny's. Danny explains."Your parents have one as well. Jazz, your Parents, And I are already on your contact list. All you need to do is press the green button by their name. Like this." Danny activates her parent's number. Hermoine is Happy to be able to talk to Her parents. Owl post is just not the same as hearing their voice.

After Hermoine's long talk with her parents. Hermoine thanks Danny for making this the best birthday ever. Danny says."I have something to tell you tomorrow." The rest of the day, Hermoine had her birthday with her friends. And She is having the best time.

The next day.

Danny finds Hermoine and takes her somewhere private. He says."Hermoine, I have to tell you something." Hermoine says."Dont worry, Danny. You are my best friend. You can tell me anything." Danny says."You won't be thinking that after I tell you." Hermoine asks."How bad can it be?"

Danny says."Well, I know why Sirius Black broke out of Prison." Hermoine replies."How do you know that Danny?" Danny replies."He wants to finish what he started twelve years ago." Hermoine replies, shocked."You mean he wants to kill you?!"

Danny nods."The reason why he wants me dead is because he betrayed his friends to join Voldemort." Hermoine says."How does that involve you?" Danny signs and says."Because Im Harry Potter." He shifts back to his original form. His blue eyes return to their natural emerald-green state. And his hair becomes more unruly.

Hermoine says."I KNEW IT. I mean, I suspected it after the incident with Quirell. But Holy Cricket, your Harry Potter." Danny is completely caught off guard by Hermoine's reaction. And asks."Wait, you aren't mad?"

Hermoine says."I am a little sad That you did not tell me sooner. But I understand your reasoning. You do have an actual target on your back. And besides, I have been keeping something hidden from you as well."

Hermoine shows her time-turner."This time-turner is how I have been getting to all those extra classes." Danny asks her."Why do you want to follow all those classes? Divination only has value if you are psychic. And Mugglestudies you can ace without having to study."

Hermoine replies."I just wanted to make the most of my studies. But I do see your point." Danny says."With all that studying, you have almost no time for me, I mean us." Hermoine replies with a blush on her face."Well, if it means that much to you. I suppose I can Drop those two classes."

Danny says."I know the wizard's view of Muggles, and it sickens me." Hermoine asks."Danny, can you tell me about your parents?"

Danny says."I dont remember much. After all, I was only one year old when they died. But my Mother, Lily, was Muggleborn like you. My Father, James, was from an older family. Like me, My Dad Played Quidditch, only he was a chaser. My Father was very good at Transfiguration. Being an Animagus while being in school. My mother's best subjects were Potions and Charms."

Danny continues."My Parents were both Gryffindors. And After my Father Grew up, he dated and Married my Mother." Hermoine asks."How do you know he was an Animagus?" Danny says."My Father showed His Party trick. On my parent's Wedding. Jazz's favorite thing in the world. Was piggyback riding with Uncle Rudolf."

Hermoine asks."Rudolf, your Father was a reindeer?" Danny says."I think my dad's Animagus was called a stag. But try telling that to a two-year-old Santa-obsessed girl." Hermoine then says."Wait a minute, I have to show you something." Danny says."Okay, I will tell you one more thing. My mother's Best friend in the whole world was Snape."

Hermoine says."That's not funny, Danny!" Danny replies."I know, right." Hermoine giggles and says."You are being serious?" Danny says."Why would I joke about something like that?" Hermoine then suddenly asks."What about Dumbledore? Surely he knows?"

Danny says."About two years ago, He cast a spell that made him forget who I was. And it affected anyone in the castle. Nobody can truly make the connection unless I tell them. My parents made a fake grave. And without Dumbledore's knowledge of where I was and who I was. The story caught on. And for the world at large, I was Danny Fenton. And my shapeshifter powers did the rest."

Hermoine then asks."But why tell me now?" Danny replies."Because at the end of the year, the spell will wear off. And with everything Happening. I dont think he is going to cast it again. Also, I wanted you to hear it from me. And another friend of my birth parents is here."

Hermoine gasps and says."Professor Lupin." Danny nods."I dont know if he played a part in my parent's death, so I prefer to keep him at arm's length. And he keeps looking at me, so I think it's only a matter of time. Before the truth comes out anyway." Hermoine then asks."What happened to your scar?"

Danny says."There was an accident at my parent's lab. Two years ago. And after that, my scar was gone." Hermoine and Danny hug for a while. And then she takes him to the trophy room.

Hermoine points to a trophy and says."There, Danny." Danny reads the trophy and sees his Father's name on it. He hugs Hermoine and thanks her for showing him the trophy. Hermoine then says."We need to tell the others." Danny says. "Ugh, Do I have to?" Hermoine giggles and says."They should hear it from you." Danny says."Okay, but I dont have to like it."

After they tell Ron and Neville, Ron says."Well, I admit that does explain a few things." Neville says."I understand why you kept it secret. My parents were also victims that night." They both promise to keep his secret. And both are Happy to hear it from him.

Ginny, after hearing the truth. Ginny Gets over her crush and realizes that she is in love. With the idea of Harry Potter. And not the person himself. They hug and Promise to be Honorary siblings instead. And they talk for a bit, with Ginny asking."Did you hear what happened to Lockhart?" Danny nods and says."Remind me never to piss off the twins. I do wonder what Dumbledore meant by undone by his own sword?"

On cue, The Twins walk in and say."We bounced back his Memory charm." Danny laughs and says."So he does not remember being beaten by you?" Fred says."He does not remember anything at all, Dannykins."

Flashback.

Fred says."Where are you going? Our sister is in danger." Lockhart says."Well, that is regrettable, but." George says."You are the defense Professor, you, Git." Lockhart stammers and says."The job description never said." Fred interrupts him and says."I see you have lied or claimed the deeds of others for yourself. George?"

George says."Yes, Freddy?" Fred says. "It's time we teach this git a long overdue lesson." Lockhart grabs his wand and says."Im afraid I can't let you do that. In a few moments, you forget everything."

Lockhart says."Obliviate." Fred and George shout at the same time, "Protego." After the spell bounces back to Lockhart, Fred says."Remind me to Thank Dannykins for teaching us this spell."

End flashback.

Fred says."By the way, thank you for teaching us the shield charm, Dannykins." Danny says, confused."You're welcome." The twins walk off, and Ginny says."Just go with it."

Staff meeting at the end of the first month.

Dumbledore says."So, how are the students?" McGonagall says."The first years are coming along nicely. The Dementors are a continuing source of tension and problems. Both in the school and the village. I have no idea what the ministry is thinking."

Snape says."Anything you can tell us about Black Lupin?" Lupin says."Nothing comes to mind, Severus. I have a question that has bothered me. From the day I arrived." Dumbledore says."Go ahead, Remus." Lupin asks."Who is Daniel Fenton? and Why does he feel so Familiar?"

McGonagall says."Mr Fenton is a strong student. And I met his family. I see no reason to doubt the story they told me. As for that feeling, I admit to having that occasionally as well."

Dumbledore says."About Two years ago, I cast A memory charm for a reason I can't remember. But I do know it Involves Mr Fenton. Might I suggest Remus? as the charm wears off at the end of the year? Let it go for now. We might place Mr Fenton in Danger by having the truth come out prematurely."

Flitwick adds."That would be a poor way to thank him after saving the school twice. But I, too, have the feeling. Of there being something familiar about mr Fenton."

Most of the staff that have been teachers for over a decade agree with the sentiment. And With Dumbledore's suggestion to drop the Questions at the end of the year.

Remus wonders."Why can't any of us make the connection?" Dumbledore chuckles and says."It's part of the charm I cast. So Unless Mr Fenton chooses to tell someone the truth, all we come up with is nothing.

Remus then says."Well, I agree with his capabilities as a student. The boy is a natural with a wand." Snape says."He is one of the few students who is not a Dunderhead. The boy is a true Slytherin. Ambitious, Cunning, And without him, The Weasleys would have been down a child."

Hagrid says."I would still be in Prison." Dumbledore adds." let's not forget His saving of Miss Granger on Halloween two years ago. Along With Mr Weasley and Longbottom, of course. Both, thanks to their Friendship with young Daniel, have flourished."

McGonagall says."He also made a powerful connection to Miss Granger. Through him, she made friends for the first time. I heard He even connected her with his sister. Who has similar troubles of connecting with Peers."

Dumbledore continues."Mr Fenton saved the muggle-born students from the heir of Slytherin. He reminds me at times of another student Like Daniel. Tom was Smart, Ambitious, And Cunning. Unlike Daniel, he chose Domination and Destruction over Harmony. They both touched many lives. But Daniel changed it for the better. Where Tom only brought out the worst in everyone."

Remus says."Very well, I will drop it for now."
