Finn waited several seconds. He waited for that sound of both the hands smashing and killing the Keepers by exploding them into wet chunks of flesh and blood, and the sounds of the people in the bubbles being impaled and killed.
They had both been seconds away from completing their killing, but Finn heard nothing. No death, no screaming, and no smashing.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!?" Magnifico roared out.
Finn opened his eyes and gasped.
The hands and the spikes had all been blocked. Blocked by big pillows that appeared out of nowhere.
"What is this magic!?" yelled Magnifico. "Who dares to interfere with me!?"
"I believe you mean who dares to attack the good people of my parks?" said a high-pitched voice that everyone recognized all too well immediately.
From up in the sky came a formation of stars and sparkles all bunched together. Finn watched as they appeared right in front of him, glowing white on the inside like someone was teleporting.
And then they slowly began to disappear as a figure walked out from inside the cluster. He had black fur, a long black nose, and instead of overalls, he wore his red wizard robes and had his blue wizard hat with stars on it.
It was the legend himself. The protector and king of all Disney and its parks. And the one thing the Overtakers of the past feared the most.
Mickey Mouse.
Finn smiled happily and laughed out in joy over the sight of Mickey.
"You came!" he cried out. "You're here to help us!"
Mickey turned and faced Finn.
"I'm still not here to help find the girl," he said. "But mark my words boy, no innocent person will ever be harmed or killed in my kingdom!"
He faced Magnifico.
"You sir have crossed the line greatly!" he yelled.
"Bah! Stupid mouse!" Magnifico scoffed. "You don't scare me! I'm a Revenger not an Overtaker! And I'm the most powerful one now!"
"No, you're just a fraud," said Mickey. "Not even a complete person or villain. Just a toy filled with the essence of a movie character. You're not even the real deal like the Overtakers were. You sir...are nothing!"
"Nothing? Nothing!? NOTHING!?" Magnifico roared. "I will show you what nothing looks like!"
He created a giant ball of green energy and threw it at Mickey. Mickey clasped his hands together, creating from magical dust a sword made of white energy. Just as the ball was about to hit him, he slashed the sword downward and destroyed the attack.
Magnifico snorted and prepared another green energy whip, but Mickey held out his hand and threw a bubble at Magnifico that slowly made contact with him, practically slowing down time against him.
"Now that he's temporarily frozen," said Mickey. "Let's quickly save everyone!"
He first turned to Finn and magically made fire appear around the snakes. With snakes being afraid of fire, they all let go of Finn like they were real snakes and sped off in different directions. Then he made giant magical thumbtacks appear and they easily popped the bubbles holding the guests, who he made magic arrows to lead them all to safety.
Finn watched happily as the guests ran out of the show, thanking the heroes for their bravery and rescuing.
And then he made two magic energy fishing poles appear and threw their lines and hooks right at the hands that were stopped by the pillow but still going at one another.
One by one the hooks dug under the hands and pulled each Keeper out safely to the other side.
They all gasped heavily, both from being unintentionally almost smothered against the pillow, but also in fear over almost being killed for good this time.
The Keepers stared in amazement and joy over the sight of Mickey, but they did not start thanking him yet.
They were going to wait until Magnifico's threat was gone.
Mickey then snapped his fingers and the pillow disappeared, causing the hands to still collide with one another and pop the bubble temporarily freezing time around Magnifico and blasting him off the stage and into the water.
Mickey smiled and brushed his hands together.
"Something tells me though he's not done," said Philby, wondering if Mickey was making those gestures because he thought it was over.
"Oh, this ain't over yet," Mickey said. "Ain't no way he's getting away that easily with almost killing thousands of people here. He's about to get it so badly."
From under the water Magnifico shot himself out from a geyser and landed across from the heroes in the seating area.
"You stupid rotten rodent!" he yelled. "I will turn you into a fly and squash you under my foot!"
"Bring it on your highness," Mickey snorted. "Bring...it...ON!"
Magnifico blasted a barrage of green blades at Mickey. Mickey raised his hands and made a ton of white energy shields that blocked each attack.
He then slashed his hand and turned the shields into bladed spinning discs that headed towards the king. But he teleported and dodged each attack.
He then created a green energy dragon that charged at Mickey, but Mickey created a white energy lion that bounced on the dragon and bit its head right off, destroying them both.
Magnifico was getting enraged.
"I will not be bested by you!" he yelled.
He blasted green lightning at Mickey but he dodged and blasted fireballs back at him.
The two ran up and down the stairs, throwing spells at one another. They missed each other repeatedly, and also barely missed the Keepers.
But then they both shot attacks and they managed to hit each other.
Mickey got hit badly but recovered quickly. Magnifico's robe was slightly burned, and he was enraged.
"I'M ENDING THIS NOW!" he roared.
He began to charge up a ton of green magic in his hands. Mickey nodded and did the same, making white energy appear in the form of a ball.
And then both sorcerers threw their hands back and blasted their powerful magic waves and beams at one another, causing the attacks to collide.
It was now a power standoff.
The two yelled out and continued to pour energy into their blasts.
However, Finn saw Mickey was slowly beginning to lose. Magnifico's magic was proving to be stronger.
"Give up mousey!" he yelled. "You are done for! I will be the one who kills the very legend himself!"
"N...never!" yelled Mickey, trying to still pour magic into his attack, but he was still slowly losing. He didn't have enough strength.
And that's when Finn realized they had to be the ones to give him strength.
"Guys we need to help," said Finn.
"How?" asked Maybeck. "We don't have magic!"
"No, but we have hope!" said Finn. "So, let's give Mickey it!"
He bent down to Mickey who was still struggling. He had no idea Finn was practically breathing down his neck.
He then put his hand on Mickey's shoulder and said, "You can do it Mickey!"
Immediately, Mickey felt a surge of energy and strength flow through him. From Finn's hope and belief, he began to fight back against the blast of Magnifico's magic.
The other Keepers got the message and bent down as well, each putting a hand on Mickey and giving him hope.
Mickey felt energy and strength he never had felt before and made a triumphant yell as he began blasting even more magic energy than before, pushing back Magnifico's towards him.
Now Magnifico was the one scared and struggling to fight back.
"Grrr...NO!" he yelled. "This is...IMPOSSIBLE!"
"Nothing is impossible," said Mickey. "Not when one...BELIEVES!"
And with that his beam of magic became so powerful that it overpowered Magnifico who was blasted with the entire surge, engulfing him in white magical energy.
He yelled out as his entire body began crumbling away bit by bit.
"THIS...IS...THE THANKS...I GET!?" he roared out loudly as he completely broke apart, leaving only a pile of dust where he once stood.
King Magnifico, was dead.
Everyone stood panting once the battle was over. The sounds of the gates to the park were heard opening in the distance followed by police sirens.
The people were safe and freed, and not a single life except the villain's was lost.
"You saved us Mickey," Jess said. "You saved everyone."
"Of course, child," said Mickey. "This is my kingdom. And I will do whatever it takes to protect it."
"Then please I beg you!" Finn begged. "Help us find Amanda!"
"I can't do that child," said Mickey. "I do not know this enemy who kidnapped her. So I have no idea what he or she wants. If it even is a threat to the park. And besides, it out of my reach to help find her."
"How is that even possible!?" yelled Maybeck.
"Because the girl is not in any of the kingdoms!" said Mickey.
Everyone blinked.
"What?" Finn asked.
"Your Amanda Lockhart has indeed been kidnapped and is being tortured," said Mickey. "But she's not being held captive in any of the parks. That I am able to sense."
"So, you're saying, we've been going on a wild goose chase for nothing!?" yelled Willa.
"No, the leader of the Revengers wanted us to believe Amanda was locked in the parks," said Charlene. "So, we'd go trying to find her, and as a result be killed."
"Then where is she?" asked Jess. "Where is my sister!?"
"I'm sorry but I do not know," said Mickey. "I see through the eyes of magic, and none of it can find her in the parks. And my magic can only travel through the parks."
"Then that means...the only way we'll ever find Amanda, or Finn ever finds Amanda," said Charlene. "Is if we die."
"All of us, except Finn," said Maybeck. "We have to die so Finn can find Amanda."
"ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Finn and Mickey yelled surprisingly at the same time.
"What is wrong with you child!?" yelled Mickey. "You are the Kingdom Keepers, and you're literally going to give what these villains want and sacrifice yourselves!?"
"But what else can we do!?" asked Philby. "We have nowhere else to look!"
"The only advantage we have right now is that the Revengers don't know that we now know Amanda is not in the parks," said Finn.
"But it's still hopeless," cried Willa. "We'll never find Amanda unless we die."
"Or make the Revengers think we're dead," said Maybeck.
"Maybeck!" Finn cried out. "You're a genius!"
"I am?" Maybeck asked.
"We have to trick the Revengers into thinking you guys are dead!" said Finn. "We just have to find some way to encounter them again and trick them into thinking they've killed you! Once that's done with, we can all find Amanda!"
"Excellent child," said Mickey. "Now I must leave children. Disneyland still needs my protection."
"From the fairlies?" Jess asked.
Mickey nodded.
Ever since a group of rebel fairlies who joined forces with Amery Hollingsworth Junior and a revived Maleficent and Tia Dalma attacked Disneyland, some of them survived and remained even after their leaders' deaths. And they wanted revenge against Mickey and Disney too.
"We'll figure something out," said Charlene. "Go protect your kingdom."
Mickey nodded.
"Farewell Kingdom Keepers," he said. "And I know it in my heart and soul that you will find your beloved and you will defeat this new threat. You are after the children of light. So, I wish you good night and good luck!"
Mickey then waved his hands and a cluster of magic sparkles swirled around him forming a ball that lifted him into the air, and then disappeared into the distance of the night.
The Keepers stared at one another as Finn pulled out the return fob.
"We have our plan," said Finn. "Tomorrow, we figure out a plan on how to trick the Revengers into thinking that they've killed you all."
"Agreed," said Willa. "Now let's get some real sleep. I almost died again, and I'm exhausted."
"We all are," said Philby.
And with that they all pressed the return and disappeared immediately.
Shoutout to my friend the Queen of Hearts who predicted that Mickey would appear! Good job girl! But I bet she nor anyone else reading will be able to figure out my plan for how the Kingdom Keepers will trick the Revengers. Stay tuned to find out, and for another torture chapter!
