WARNING: MINOR SWEARING
CHAPTER II
He suddenly opened his eyes finding himself back at the gorge it was still rather dusty but he could at least see his surroundings.
Mufasa was still recuperating from the strange occurrence that had just happened.
He tried to get up but quickly fell back down as the pain kicked back in.
'I just need to get out of here.'
He got up despite the pain and began walking down the gorge towards a river. Trying to smell his son's scent
Mufasa knew he couldn't battle Scar in this state especially if he has any backup.
Mufasa went down a small pathway as he followed Simba's scent until he reached a ledge. Simba's scent ended right at the ledge.
His heart skipped a beat.
'Surely he didn't get...'
He looked down only to see nothing but thorns and several bones.
'No...'
The scent of hyena also was present further validating his fears
The sudden realisation struck Mufasa.
His son was dead
"NO!"
He whacked a rock nearby making it fly off the ledge.
"That bastard."
His vision became blurry as tears fell down his face.
Despite the grief he knew that Scar or the hyenas would kill him if he stayed here too long.
So he simply walked and stumbled away turning back around and reaching the same river he saw before choosing to follow the river down towards a small pass.
The stampede had loosened a lot of rock on a big blockage along the riverbank.
While Mufasa was still following the river's path the water was beginning to push back against the blockage unbeknownst to Mufasa
As he had reached halfway across a small 'path' towards the other end of the pass the blockage finally gave in as water and debris came careening down the pass.
Mufasa tried to move as fast he could before the flood reached but he soon swept away with the current as he soon pushed down stream.
Luckily for him a log had been swept up with the current. He grabbed onto the log as the current continued carrying him down.
The current soon ended as he found himself in a larger more calmer river.
While he was glad he was alive he just hoped this 'wild river ride' would be over soon.

Mufasa didn't know how long he was stuck on the log on the river but he noticed the sun was setting and the sky had turn many shades of yellow, red, purple and orange.
'I can't stay on his log for much longer.'
He soon saw a fork in the river the right path continuing while the other lead to a small lake.
Wasting no time he began trying to guide the log towards the left path hoping to end this crazy journey.
Thankfully he had guided the log the right direction and soon found himself on land again.
Quickly wasting no time he walked off the log and across the wet dirt before shaking off all the water. while he was still wet he at least was a bit more drier than before.
A few metres away Mufasa saw a small cave.
'Thank the great kings'
He walked towards the cave and collapsed in a corner feeling absolutely exhausted and in pain.
'Let this be dream or something.'
At that point he just broke down in tears having not been able to really until now.
'Just wake me from this damn nightmare.'
'Please.'
He soon fell asleep despite his troubled mind hoping for it to be a dream.

Mufasa woke up suddenly to find himself in the gorge instead of the cave he had just found.
Getting up slowly he found his injuries had vanished and his body wasn't in pain.
'Odd...'
"HELP!"
He looked down the pass as the sound of his son's voice suddenly echoed through the air.
"Simba?!"
"Help!"
He ran down to the same ledge as before seeing Simba on the branch though this time everything seemed to be more darker and the sounds echoed as if it was in a cave.
'It's almost as if...'
"Hold on Simba!"
The tree got hit and destabilised and began wobbling.
He leaped into the rather blurry stampede. Just like before it was if the events were repeating themselves.
He got hit on the head by a wildebeest as everything got a bit blurry before he recovered and saw the tree get hit as his son flew into the air.
But that's where things started going wrong.
As Mufasa went to leap to catch Simba he felt a strong force push him down and hold him there.
"If only it were THAT easy my dear big brother."
Mufasa turned around as Scar was suddenly behind him holding onto his back leg.
He looked back as his son suddenly disappeared into the stampede. He was too late.
"No!"
However the scene soon changed as Mfasa now found himself falling down and landing on the ground unable to get up.
"Life's not fair is it?"
He looked up to see Scar with that same evil smile on his face.
"You see I'll never be king."
"And you won't see your precious boy again."
"But that's just life my dear brother."
He soon found himself able to get up as he got up and looked right at Scar
"Give me one good reason not to tear you apart like the bastard you are Scar!"
He swiped at Scar only for him to disappear.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk Now Muffy we mustn't be so hasty in hitting your dear old little brother."
He looked behind him to see Scar behind him.
"Fuck off."
"Ooh now that's not a very kingly temper now is it?"
"Oh yes that's right I remember now you aren't anymore."
The scene changed again as he found himself at the ledge again this time there was a raging river below him. As the all too familiar feeling of betrayal as Scar put his claws right into Mufasa's paws.
"So why don't I do a favour and let you join your son!"
Scar threw him off the ledge into the water. But as soon as he touched the water everything went silent.

Mufasa woke up finding himself back at the cave. With only the sounds of the outside and his heavy breathing he soon calmed himself down.
'Only a dream.'
He soon peered out towards the entrance to see that it was morning.
He cautiously got up and headed outside as the morning sun shone on his golden fur and red mane. Although it was a very stumblingly walk he at was getting somewhere rather than nowhere.
Mufasa could see the nearby river and lake had flooded a bit after yesterday with branches and other debris washed up on the shore. as he walked towards the water for a drink which was thankfully rather clean.
As he was taking a drink he began thinking about what he was going to do. Mufasa knew he was out of the Pridelands and in unknown territory but he knew he'd have to find some food sooner or later if he wanted any chance of survival.
After having a drink he soon set off to find something to eat while the area he was in currently was rather forested he spotted a wide plain not to far away. While he knew hunting probably wasn't the best idea in his state he didn't have much choice.
So when he reached the plains he began searching for any prey to eat. He soon saw some impala nearby grazing on the grass. He then crouched down into a pouncing position in the long grass before he ran towards one of the impala. Only for the impala to quickly move out of the way sending him tumbling down a small ditch. Before hitting his right back leg on a rock.
'Well I should of expected something like that to happen.'
Just then he heard a rustle from the top of the ditch in the long grass as a voice suddenly spoke.
"You know you should be more careful."
"Especially if you're injured."
