Tea Parties And Ghost

The group gathered around the table in Liberty with books and maps on the table. Scott's brow furrowed in confusion at all this, "None of this is making sense!" Scott exclaimed looking at the map, "I don't know any of these these landmarks. Are you sure there's isn't anything more?" He asked Crowley. Crowley was just as stunned as they asked where the USA and the Atlantic Ocean were.

"Not only is your homeland not listed on any map from any point in history," Crowley said, as he looked over at history books. He narrowed his eyes at them, "Now, are you QUITE sure that you come from such a place? That wasn't some sort of lie or jape?"

Susie waved her hands, "It's the truth!" She exclaimed, "Why would you lie about this? We just want to go home." She told him.

Crowley crosses his arms in thought, "Because if so, the only explanation is that you've come from another planet. Or perhaps you were summoned here from another dimension?" He tilted his head in thought. Scott looks at him shocked.

"Isn't that a bit out there?" He asked. Oliver looks at the book titled 'Fae Stories and Histories'.

"I don't know man. I've never heard of anything fae, beastman, or magic. Plus the maps and history here are so different from us." He pointed out.

"Funny enough we have the same animals but a giraffe." Haelth comment.

"That's after the 'Giraffe War' the beastman sent them to another world," Crowley explained to her.

"Sounds fake but ok." Melody deadpan.

"Show me everything that you brought here with you. Do you have some form of identification, a driver's license perhaps?" Crowley asked them. The five of them shook their head.

"We tried to look for phones and wallets when first woke up." Susie explained to Crowley, Oliver, and Scott nodded, "But not one of us had that on us." Haelth looked at her backpack and dumped everything on there. Her notebook, homework, and the book that she stole from Karaguri. She flinched as the rest of the group locked eyes with the book.

"Is that boss's book?" Melody pointed at the book. Scott's eyes flicked to book to Haelth.

"Yes…" Haelth said slowly, "Mapa let us borrow it for campaigns." She lied and Melody shrugged their shoulders.

"Sounds good."

Susie's eyes brighten, "I'm glad Karaguri said yes. Those ideas of theirs are so cool!" Haelth locks eyes with Scott. So far so good. Everyone seems to think Karaguri gives their book willingly. But then she saw out of the corner of her eye Oliver looking skeptical at them. Scott also noticed but tried to act like he didn't notice. Haelth also tried to act nonchalant too. Oliver gazes at them for a bit longer and smiles.

"Well, I'm glad you got that book too." He said. Crowley looks at the cover of the makeshift book and holds his hand out.

"May I take a look?" He asked her.

"Umm…sure," Haelth hand him the book. Crowley opened the first page and scanned it. Then another and another, doing so as his eyebrow went higher and higher.

"Did you find something?" Oliver asked him. Crowley closes the book.

"Where did you get this from?" He asked, pointing at the book.

"Oh, that's not mine that was my Mapa's," Haelth told him. Crowley's eyebrow furrowed, "Is something the matter?" She asked him. Crowley opens a page and points at the runes.

"These runes are from olden days," He told them, each drawing blank looks from gang so headmage cleared his throat, "Right, sorry I forgot you guys are not from around here." Crowley put his best teacher voice, "You see runes are how humans and beastman from olden days used to do magic. Unlike fae who were born with it. The curve symbolizes any kind of object and asks the world itself to use its magic."

"The world is alive?" Scott asked.

"It is in a way yes, as people are still researching and trying to talk about it. Though not one can fully understand it yet." Crowley's gaze seemed to be in deep thought before snapping back, "Anyhow, they used to do that until people started having magic for themselves and using wands to help them use it." He explains to the young adults. His gaze landed questionably on them, "Where did you all get this from?"

"As I said, from mapa but they said they got it from a dream," Haelth explained, shrugging her shoulders.

"Now?" Crowley asked, rubbing his chin in thought, "Interesting." He said before handing her back her map book, "And what's your mapa name is?" He asked.

"Hasegawa Karaguri." Crowley went still for a moment before handing her back her book.

"I see," He said rubbing his chin in thought, "Well, this is quite the predicament. I cannot have someone with no aptitude for magic bumbling about my magic academy. And yet, as an educator, I am loath to expel a young person without a cent to their name, or any ability to contact their guardian…" He suddenly snapped his finger as if a lightbulb went off in his head, "Hmmmmm... Ah!" He snaps his fingers, which causes the gang to turn to him, "There is a vacant building on this campus. It was used as a dorm a long time ago. With proper cleaning, it should be habitable enough. Out of the profound kindness of my heart, I will allow you to live there for the time being." Susie's eyes brighten up.

"Really?" She asked and Crowley happily nodded. She rushes up to him and hugs him, "Oh thank you! Thank you!" Crowley looks surprised but laughs and pats the girl on her head.

"Oh, it's no problem at all. For I am a gracious man." Susie backed off, blushing in embarrassment but Crowley simply smiled, "In the meantime, we will investigate other ways to send you home." He addressed the rest of them, "Well then, I shall take you to your dorm straight away. It is an older building, but it has plenty of...character, one might say."

"Are we going to get some help fixing it?" Melody asked him, narrowed their eyes.

Crowley nodded, "Yes, I will call someone to help you and give supplies to help you fix. Out of the kindness of my heart." He told them. The group smiled, at least they had a roof over their heads.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let go!" Haelth exclaimed.

"A nice bath and bed will be good for now." Oliver comment.

"I think we all need one after what we went through." Scott said turning to Crowley, "Show us the way."

"You want us to stay here?" Scott looks at the house in disbelief. To call it a house is an overstatement, as it has seen better days. The paint peels up in some places, some of the windows look dirty, and even crack in some places, and Scott is pretty sure there are holes in the roof. As well as weeds running amok outside the house.

"Isn't it delightful? Right, scoot inside now. There you go." Crowley shooed them in. Melody put their foot down.

"Ok, no." They turn to Crowley and narrow their eyes at him, "There's got to be child-safe laws against this kind of stuff."

Crowley blinked, "I sure you there's nothing dangerous in the dorm. I know it's…a fixer-upper," As if one cue Oliver struggles against opening the door, "But there is running water and electricity. And I promise I have someone come by and fix the roof and door. And give supplies tomorrow for cleaning. I'm sorry it's not a lot but this happened so fast that I didn't have time to prepare. Give me time." He promised. Melody narrowed their eyes.

"You better." They disappear into the house with the others, leaving Crowley alone. He walks down the stone path in deep thought. That was a name he hadn't heard for a while.

Karaguri.

They always come before Overblot appears, warning the individual. Some narrow-minded people think they are responsible for Overblots, but they are always seen as an omen as they appear before a disaster. Could they send these children for coming threats? Or something else?

Either way, Crowley would be a fool turning them away.

The place was covered in dust. Susie sneezed and looked around there were a couple of chairs over turn and pictures on the ground. There were some holes in the ceiling. All in all, it was a mess.

"Oh I'm going to kill him," Melody growled, while Scott nodded as his face darkened. Susie just sighs.

"Guys let's just clean up the best we can." She said, walking to the closet. She found a couple of brooms, dust pans, rags, and buckets. Susie handed the brooms and dustpan to Haelth and Scott, she and Melody had rags, and Oliver had the buckets.

"Scott and Haelth you guys sweep the dust." She pointed at them, "You guys got a lot of energy and can get them done fast." Haelth smiled and nodded.

"Righto!" She took off. Scott grumbled and followed her. Susie turns to Oliver.

"Oliver just put the bucket under holes in the ceiling." Susie said, frowning as she looked outside, "I think it's going to rain tonight."

Oliver frowns, "I can do more hun." He pointed out and Susie patted him on the shoulder.

"I know but we need someone to do this." She said, and Oliver sighed and got to work. Melody walks beside Susie handing her a rag.

"Really?" They asked and Susie nodded.

"As always."

"There we go," Oliver huffed as he placed the last bucket down on the floor. Susie was right it did rain and go down hard. Water drips into the bucket and the boy smiles at a job well done.

"Whistle while you work~" Haelth sings a tune song as she sweeps.

Oliver laughed at her, "You seem to be in good spirits." He comments.

Haelth grinned, "It's fun to do some singing while working." She said walking up to him and looking at the buckets he put down in the living room, "Oh, you're done! Want to help me?" She asked, handing him a broom.

"Su-" Suddenly the front door flung out and a dark blur rushed inside. The black mass stops before them and shakes, spraying rainwater on them.

"Ewww! Stop!" Oliver covered himself but Haelth sprang into action and went to grab the black mess. The beast slams his paws on the girl's cheek.

"Get off!" Oliver blinked remembering the high-pitch voice, "Grim?!" He exclaimed as Haelth held the monster 'kitty' up.

"Let go!" Grim yelled as he wiggled his way out of Haelth's grasp, much to her dismay.

"Awww," Haelth whined as Grim got to the ground and turned to face them with a grin.

"Bwahaha! That look on your face is priceless! It's like a bat that got blasted by a water gun. As if I wouldn't just sneak back onto campus the second I escaped pryin' eyes. You all got no idea what I'm capable of!" He exclaimed raising his paws in the air, "I ain't givin' up on goin' here just 'cause I got kicked out one measly ol' time. And if you think otherwise, you don't know Grim!"

"Is that fucking weasel?!" Melody's voice called out, and Grim froze in terror. Melody came splitting down the hallway and Grim yelled in fear, "Get out you rat!" They said rushing to kick them. Only for Haelth to grab Grim at the last minute and Melody to slip into the living room, "Oof!" They got up and glared at Haelth, "Haelth, what the hell?" They asked.

Haelth pointed at Grim's fluffy face which widened eyes in fear, "Look at him! He's scared." Grim snapped out of fear state and looked at Haelth like she was crazy.

"Am not!"

Even Melody was not impressed, "You know that he tried to set us on fire?"

"I know but I can't stay mad at a cute face like that." She said cuddling up to the cat monster who clawed her.

Melody has a deadpan look, "Really?"

"What's going on here?" Scott asked as he and Susie walked down the hallway. As soon as he spots Grim, he widens and points out, "WHY IS HE HERE?!" Susie looks at Grim warily too. Grim laughs and jumps on top of Haelth's head.

"What do you guys think?" He grins and crosses his paws smugly, "I'm here to get into this school!"

Susie's eyes widen and she runs to the front door and shouts, "Guards! Guard!" Grim's eyes widen and jump out of Haelth's arm and onto Susie's shoulders.

"Hey! No! Bad human! BAD HUMAN!" He hit her head with his paws like she bad dog. She stopped and batted his paws away.

"What are you even here for?!" She asked and Scott ran up to pick up Grim.

"I was born to do this! I'm a magical prodigy who's got the makin's to become one of the greatest mages who ever lived!" Grim exclaims, "So I've been waitin' and waitin' for that black carriage to come for me. And yet…" He looks down and shakes, "Hrmph! That Dark Mirror's got no eye for talent!" He jumped from Scott's hands and stomped on the floor, "That's why I took the initiative and came here myself. You humans don't understand what a mistake you're making! Not lettin' me in is a great loss to the world!" Scott's eyes soften a bit, "That's why I took the initiative and came here myself."

Melody stomps over to Grim, "Not in here! Get out!" Grim hiss and Haelth got between them.

"Come on Melody," She gestures to Grim, "Look at him. We can't leave this cutie all out in the rain." She coos as picks him up. Which Grim does not like.

"Put me down!" He cried out.

"Really? He tried to send us on fire." Melody pointed out in a deadpan tone of voice.

"And I forgive him," Haelth replied cheerfully and Melody rolled their eyes.

"Yeah, I don't think it's right to kick him out either," Susie added.

"Same." Oliver input.

Melody looked at them like they were crazy, "Come on guys think! He tried to set us on fire!" They turn to Scott, "Please tell me you still have to sense." They pled with him and clapped their hands together. Scott looks away blushful.

"...I think he deserves to stay too." He said. Melody's face falls while Haelth beams.

"What no!" The blond cried.

"Yes!" The red-haired cheer. Susie smiled and Oliver laughed. Even Grim grinned.

"In you're faced blondly!" He points his paw at Melody who glares at him.

"Yee hee hee... Bwa ha ha ha ha ha." Melody glared at Oliver.

"Ok stop laughing at me guys you won." Oliver looks at them confused.

"No one was laughing hun. Are you ok?" He pointed out. Melody blinked, they could swear they heard laughing.

"We haven't had visitors in ages!" A ghost went right through Susie, who screamed. She jumped back and touched her stomach to see if anything was missing or cut but she was alright. The young woman breathed a sigh of relief before the ghost figure let out a dark chuckle.

"Cool, we're being haunted!" Haelth exclaimed and Scott smacked himself in the forehead.

"Only you are excited about that." He said, before yelping as a ghost appeared in front of him. He jumps back and shields Haelth, who has a smile.

"Oh, I'm just itchin' for new friends! Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha!" The ghost laughed.

"This is so cool!" Haelth beams, but Scott forces her back.

"Don't befriend the supernatural!" He scolds her.

"AH! GHOSTS! GHOOOOOOSTS!" Grim panicked and opened his mouth to breathe fire. The ghost easily dodged.

"Nuh-uh. Not even close."

"Over here! Over here! Ah ha ha ha!"

Grim, in a blind panic, shot flame everywhere and Melody was glad that it rained because the buckets were filled with water. They quickly grabbed one and poured it on the small fire that was left in the wake of the monster cat's blind panic.

"Watch it will you!" They told him. Grim bared his teeth at them.

"Shaddup! I don't need any lip from you, human!" A ghost laughed in front of his face and Grim almost set them on fire when Melody picked him up.

"Hey!" He shouted as Melody put him on their shoulder.

"Look I know we don't get along," They said looking down at him, who glanced questionably at the human, "but we need to work together at defeating these ghosts."

Grim looked at them in disbelief, "Are you kidding m-" Melody suddenly turned.

"Shoot now!" They order and Grim yelps as a ghost appears in front of him. The monster yelps and immediately shoots a fireball at them.

"Ouch!" The ghost yelps and disappears. Grim was silent before a grin appeared.

"That shows you, ghost. Shows you not to mess with the great and powerful Grim!" He puffs out his chest. He yelps as more ghosts appear.

"Oooooh, secret talk? I want in, c'mooon!"

"Come on, we're just a bit scared!" Grim's fur stands on the end and ears pin back. Melody gently smoothed out his coat.

"Relax, we got this," They said and Grim snapped back to fight more.

"Yeah, you're right!" He glared at the ghost, "Point where they are at human and then I'll show you why I deserve to be in school!" Melody nodded and the monster and human charged into battle with the three ghosts.

"AH!"

Crowley hums a song as he carries some blankets over to Ramshackle and some different clothes. He almost forgot, but like the caring guardian he is, he went out and got them dinner as well. Walking up to the dorm he knocks on the door and Susie opens up. Or at least tried to as the door was not swinging the right way. He should get someone to look into that.

"Oh, hello Sir Crowley! Is everything ok?" She asked, Crowley was still taken aback as he was used to his students being mean to him. But he welcomes the change in pace.

"Good evening. In another gesture of my immense kindness, I have brought you dinner." He told them as he stepped into the house. Susie smiled and led him in.

"Come in! Come in!" She said to him, "We are trying our best to clean up this mess." Susie warns him. Crowley looks around, the falling items have been picked up, and paintings and chairs have been turned right side up and in their rightful place. The floors and furniture have been dusted and cleaned. There was a group of four outworld children with ghosts and monster weasel. Wait…what?

"Huh?" He looks back at the table with young teenagers and ghosts, "What is the meaning of this?"

Susie explained to him, "Oh, we have a bit of a fight with ghosts here," The ghosts tipped their hats at her, "But after everything was settled down, we just talk and found out the ghost here Moss, Boo, and Jasper have been living here for a while."

Scott narrowed his eyes at Crowley, "Which by the way, thanks for telling us." Crowley clears his throat looking embarrassed.

"Ah, yes... That's why it was abandoned. The ghosts scared away all the students. But how did you get the ghost to settle down?" He asked them.

"Because of me!" Grim puffed out his chest, "I used my magic to blast them away." The ghost giggles.

"After you almost blew the house down." The skinny one, Jasper, laughed at Grim.

"What I wasn't sc-"

"Boo!" The smallest ghost, Boo, appears in front of Grim and shouts to his face. The monster cat jumped, but luckily Melody caught him.

"You mean we got the ghosts to stop." They point out.

Grim huffed, "I'm still muscle." Melody laugh.

"Yes, you are."

Crowley looked at them both in surprise, "You're saying that you two joined forces to drive them away?" He asked surprised.

"Why are acting like you're so surprised?" Melody asked him.

Crowley clears his throat, "Well…you guys are always at each other throats all the time."

Melody smirks, "You'd be surprised what people can do when their life is on the line."

"And the promise of tuna! Speaking of," He turns to Melody, "Where's my tuna?!" He yelled at Melody to hold their hands up.

"We'll get some tomorrow! Right now the store is closed!" They told him. Grim huffed and crossed his arms.

Crowley clapped his hands to get the group's attention, "Would you two be so kind as to demonstrate your ghost-eradication methods for me?" He asked them.

Melody looks at him in disbelief, "Come again?"

Grim tilted his head, "One, no, 'cause I already wiped 'em all out. And two, no, 'cause where's my tuna?!" He turns to Melody and looks at him annoyed.

"I will play the part of the ghosts," Crowley said as took out a bottle and drank it. With proof of green smoke, he transforms into a ghost.

"Wow, you can do that?!" Haelth exclaimed excitedly.

"As for the tuna, you'll receive it when you defeat me. Oh, how generosity you are Crowley…" Crowley said to them and Grim crossed his arms.

"Ah, you gotta be kiddin' me. I gotta work together with the human again?" He let out an annoyed huff. Melody picked him up and put him on their shoulder.

"Do it for the tuna, Master sorcerer!" They told him and Grim snapped his head at Melody.

"Hrmph!" He got on Melody's shoulders, "All right, but this is the last time. And I better be up to my jowls in tuna afterward!" Melody turned to others when Grim wasn't looking and winked. Crowley disappears and Melody keeps their eyes peering and taps their foot. There flick of air and Crowley appears on the left.

"Grim left!" They ordered and the monster cat ran across their shoulders to their outstretched arm.

"Got it!" Grim opens his maw and blue flames spill out.

Fwosh!

"Ouch!" Crowley flinches before disappearing and reappearing at the right.

"Grim!"

"On it!

Fwosh!

Crowley yelped as they got him again but couldn't help but be proud as these two working together with proof of smoke he transformed back into his normal self. Melody and Grim relaxed.

"Incredible... I've never seen anyone bend a monster to their will quite the way you have." He said rubbing his chin, "I must confess, my educator's intuition did sense something about you and your group after the brouhaha at orientation."

"Not our fault!" Oliver said, but Crowley ignored him.

"I could tell you had a certain animal trainer-y, beast master-ish quality to you. Oh, yes." Crowley starts to mumble a few words and Melody then decides to ask him.

"Crowley?" Crowley stops mumbling and turns to Melody.

"Yes?" He turns his attention to a young teen who set Grim down.

"Can Grim stay here?" They asked which caught everyone off guard.

"WHAT? A monster, stay HERE?" Crowley exclaims, eyes welded.

"Aww, what about the whole setting us on fire Melody? I thought we were all crazy for doing that." Oliver teased them.

"We keep Haelth." They replied nonchalantly. Oliver and Scott laugh while Haelth's mouth hangs open in shock.

"Hey!" She shouted getting up, "I only started that fire one time!"

"It was three times!" Scott pointed out.

Haelth huffed and looked away, "It only counts if you get caught." Susie laughed and calmed everyone down.

"Now guys, let Crowley say his peace." She told them.

"Thank you, Miss Hanover," Crowley clears his throat, "I suppose I can allow this." Everyone's eyes brightened up and Grim's mouth was agape, "Let me be clear! Under no circumstances would I admit anyone to Night Raven College who has not been selected by the Dark Mirror - especially not a monster! Or do I intend to allow you or your little group to freeload until you're able to return home?"

Grim's shoulder slumped down, "Hrmph. Never shoulda got my hopes up…" He mumbles to himself.

Crowley taps his cane, "Allow me to explain. It was the Dark Mirror that transported you here. Therefore this school does bear some responsibility for your well-being. So I will allow you to remain in this dorm, free of charge. I will simply ask you to do a few odd jobs around campus." He glanced at the cleaning supplies, " I can tell you guys know your way around a broom. So what do you say to you two working together as a janitorial team?" He asked of them.

The five look at each other and shrug, "Sure, it's like my old job." Scott said.

"As long we get paid and have a roof over our heads, I'll not complain." Melody chimes in.

"Sounds like fun!" Haelth exclaims.

"Sure as long as I get my medicine." Oliver points out.

Crowley nodded, "Don't worry Miller, I already ordered your medicine and it should be ready tomorrow."

Oliver nodded happily, "Thank you."

Susie clapped her hands, "Then it's settled." She turns to Crowley, "We'll join the team!"

"Excellent!" Crowley clapped his hand.

Grim raises his paw, "What? What kinda deal is that?! I wanna put on one of those sweet uniforms and be a student, not sweep up people's junk!" He whines.

"If you're not satisfied with my offer, I can arrange to have you thrown out again," Crowley said nonchalantly. Which stood back in shock.

"Myah?! ... All right, fine! Let's do it."

Haelth sweeps the outside of the dorm with a broom. Things are going smoothly as the ghosts help clean up and at least get their bed ready. Haelth decides that she is going to sweep the deck to make it all nice-looking. Something fell from her pocket and Health sees it was one rune. It was three wind swirls in the center. A wind rune.

Haelth went to pick it open but then it glowed green colors.

Woosh!

A huge gust of wind burst out, sweeping up the dust, and leaves and even shaking the dorm. The impact sent Haelth to the ground as she looked on in disbelief. The door slammed open and Susie looked around in astonishment.

"What was that?" She asked as she helped Haelth up. That snapped her out of her stunned expression.

"Susie! Susie!" She jumps up and down much to the other girl's confusion, "The rune! They work! Look-what?!" The rock rune she worked hard to make had disappeared.

Susie looks on in confusion, "I think you need to rest. You can show me later." She said leading her away from the deck. But Haelth tried to push her back.

"You've got to believe me! It worked! I did magic!" She exclaimed.

Susie sighs, "Maybe you did but you can show us tomorrow, ok?" She tried to reason. Haelth looked at her, then at the ground where the rune had been. Back and forth, looking at her pocket. No runes.

She sighs, "OK." Haelth walked with Susie back into the dorm. She needs to make more when she gets the chance.
