Chapter 19: Stopping Team Rocket, Part 2! Destroying The Mahagony Base!
Upon returning to Mahogany Town, Michael's group, joined by Lance, Leon, and Raihan, joined back up with Weiss' group in front of the mysterious souvenir shop.
Michael - "How's Pryce?"
Weiss - "He's just fine. Clair and the rest of the Gym Leaders stayed behind to make sure he was ok."
Raihan - "I'll head over and help them out. You guys can do the rest from here."
Twilight - "Ok. So now what?"
Michael - "Now we just smash our way into Team Rocket's base."
Ruby - "How do we do that?"
Michael - "Simple."
Michael then proved his point by kicking down the door to the 'souvenir shop'. One of the men in the building rushed over and was trying to use his body to protect what looked like a normal dresser. Lance and Leon decided to bring out their aces and were going to destroy the entire building.
Michael - "Wait."
Lance - "What for Michael?"
Michael - "Let me take care of this. Incineroar! Urshifu!"
Urshifu - "What do you need us to do Michael?"
Michael - "You two and Swampert see that 'cabinet' this guy here is trying to protect."
Incineroar - "Destroy it?"
Michael - "Yes please."
The trio then quickly made short work of the 'cabinet', destroying it into tiny pieces.
Michael - "Well done you three. Now let's get inside the base."
Soon the party was inside the base.
Lance - "Well Leon and I can spilt up from you guys for now."
Michael - "That's fine. We're gonna split into groups anyway. See you both later."
Lance and Leon then left the group.
Fauna - "Are we really gonna split up into groups Michael?"
Michael - "No. I thought it was a good idea at first so we could cover more ground in this place. But then I decided that any of us could easily get lost. So, we'll stay together as one group. Now let's get moving!"
Girls - "Right!"
Soon the party made their way through the base, destroying every single Rocket grunt they came across. Then they came across Lance and Leon a couple of floors down.
Ruby - "Hey guys. Lean anything helpful?"
Lance - "Well according to one of the grunts we beat, we need a password to unlock the door to the boss's room."
Michael - "Ok we'll be on the lookout for it."
After Lance and Leon left, Michael and the girls discovered from a grunt that TWO passwords were needed to access the boss's room. They then go around the base, defeating even more grunts and learning that the two passwords are RATICATETAIL and SLOWPOKETAIL. The party soon finds the boss's room. Michael enters the passwords, and the doors open. Inside the room, they find someone sitting all alone.
? - "Muhahaha, we've been waiting for you. So, you are Michael..."
Michael - "Yes, I am. And you are?"
? - "Me? You don't know who I am? It is I, Giovanni. The majestic, and true, leader of Team Rocket himself! Wahahaha!"
Michael - "Bullshit. Now drop the disguise before I decided to drop you on your head."
? - "...Killjoy. I've worked so hard to mimic him too."
The unknown man then revealed himself to be Petrel.
Petrel - "Oh well. You lot must be trying to sneak into the radio-transmitter room. Well, that's not gonna happen."
Ruby - "Oh and why not?"
Petrel - "That room is protected with a special password. The password is "Hail Ariana". Surprised to hear it from me? Knowing the password won't help you though. The door won't open unless I say the password. It only reacts to my voice. Now what say I give you brats a good thrashing. Go Golbat!"
Michael - "Espeon I choose you! Psy Shadow Gem!"
Psychic's Current Power: 90 + 45 = 135 + 27 = 162
Shadow Ball's Current Power: 80
Power Gem's Current Power: 80
Psy Shadow Gem's Current Power: 162 + 80 = 242 + 80 = 322 x 2 = 644 x 2 = 1,288
Espeon quickly attacked, knocking out Golbat before Petrel could even give off a command.
Petrel - "Return Golbat! Go Weezing!"
Michael - "Psy Shadow Gem again!"
Psy Shadow Gem's Current Power: 1,288/2 = 644
Espeon once again knocked out her opponent in one hit.
Petrel - "Return Weezing! Go Raticate!"
Michael - "You wanna continue Espeon?"
Espeon - "Nah."
Espeon then suddenly jumped and landed next to Michael before sitting down.
Espeon - "Might as well let her have some fun."
Michael - "Alright then. Urshifu I choose you! Liquid Spinner Press!"
Liquidation's Current Power: 85 + 42.5 = 127.5 + 25.5 = 153
Ice Spinner's Current Power: 80 + 16 = 96
Body Press' Current Power: 80 + 40 = 120 + 24 = 144
Liquid Spinner Press' Current Power: 153 + 96 = 249 + 144 = 393 x 2 = 786
Much like with Espeon's two opponents, Urshifu made quick work of Raticate.
Petrel - "Return Raticate! I... I couldn't do a thing... Ariana, please forgive me... Ever since Giovanni's defeat to you back at the Viridian Gym, Arianna's decided that we would continue to be the evil criminal organization we were always meant to be. We thought that he would change his mind after seeing what we were doing, but that was pointless anyway. Oh well. Wahahaha! Losing to you won't change the fact that you all are unable to get in the radio-transmitter room! You need my voice to unlock it!"
Petrel then ran away out of the boss' room.
Kronii - "Great. Now what do we do?"
Suddenly, a Murkrow walked out from behind the desk Petrel was sitting at a few moments ago.
Murkrow - "Hail Ariana."
The entire party was surprised to see a mere Murkrow mimicking the voice of Petrel. Then just as Michael began to reach for Murkrow, he ran off.
Michael - "Quick! After him girls!"
Ruby - "Wait for us Michael!"
Michael and the girls chased after Murkrow, who led them back to the radio-transmitter room.
Murkrow - "The password is... Hail Ariana."
This time Murkrow had screamed the password in his Petrel impression. The doors then opened, followed by Murkrow running off down the hall.
Michael - "Murkrow wait!"
Murkrow suddenly stopped in his tracks. He then turned to see Michael taking an Ultra Ball out of his backpack and placing it on the floor.
Michael - "How about coming with me instead of being stuck in here?"
Murkrow excitedly ran over to Michael, then tapped the button of the Ultra Ball, letting himself get caught.
Michael - "Alright! I just caught a Murkrow! Now let's take care of the radio-transmitter room."
? - "Hold it right there!"
Suddenly Ariana and a grunt appeared.
Ariana - "We can't let a group of brats like you do as you please forever. It'll hurt team Rocket's pride repeatedly. Making it lessen, you see. ...So, it's time to finish you. However strong you may be, if the two of us fight at the same time, you'll have no chance of winning. Don't you agree? Hee hee hee! Sorry, baby. Now, get ready to be thrashed."
Lance/Leon - "Hold it!"
Lance and Leon appeared.
Michael - "That's far enough you two."
Lance - "But Michael-?"
Clair - "No Lance. You and Leon should let Michael handle this."
Leon - "Let's do as your cousin says Lance. Perhaps we SHOULDN'T try to do everything ourselves."
Lance - "Ok then..."
Ariana/Grunt - "Go Arbok/Drowzee!"
Michael - "Delphox and Greninja I choose you!"
(Insert Music: Pokémon XY&Z OST – Ash-Greninja Theme)
Michael - "Let's go Greninja! Stronger and stronger!"
Greninja's Battle Bond ability activated.
Michael - "Psy Flame on Arbok and Dark Ice Shuriken on Drowzee!"
Psychic's Current Power: 90 + 45 = 135
Flamethrower's Current Power: 90 + 45 = 135 + 27 = 162
Psy Flame's Current Power: 135 + 162 = 297 x 2 = 594
Dark Pulse's Current Power: 80 + 40 = 120
Ice Beam's Current Power: 90
Water Shuriken's Current Power: 20 + 10 = 30 + 6 = 36
Dark Ice Shuriken's Current Power: 120 + 90 = 210 + 36 = 246 x 2 = 492 x 3 = 1,476
Both opponents were quickly defeated.
Ariana - "Return Arbok. Go Murkrow!"
Grunt - "Return Drowzee. Go Grimer!'
Michael - "Psy Flame on Grimer and Ice Shuriken on Murkrow!"
Ice Shuriken's Current Power: 90 + 36 = 126 x 2 = 252 x 3 = 756
Another double knockout.
Grunt - "Sorry Miss Ariana. I'm out."
Ariana - "Don't worry I'll cover for you. Return Murkrow. Go Gloom!"
Michael - "Psy Flame and Dark Ice Sensory on Gloom!"
Psy Flame's Current Power: 594 x 2 = 1,188
Extrasensory's Current Power: 80
Dark Ice Sensory's Current Power: 120 + 90 = 210 + 80 = 290 x 2 = 580 x 2 = 1,160
Both combo attacks hit Gloom point-blank, knocking her out right away.
(Music Ends)
Ariana - "Tch, you really are strong. It's too bad. If you were to join Team Rocket, you could become an Executive. But that's fine. The broadcast experiment was a total success. It doesn't matter what happens to this hideout now. We have much bigger plans. You'll come to appreciate Team Rocket's true power soon enough. Enjoy yourself while you can... Hee hee hee..."
Ariana and the grunts following her soon deserted the hideout.
Lance - "Sorry, Michael. Leon and I saw how well you were doing, so we just hung back. Now all that's left to do is turn off that odd radio signal."
Michael - "Don't bother Lance. The machine has no off switch itself. The only way to shut it down is to knock out the Electrode powering it."
Leon - "So how do we go about this then?"
Michael - "Simple. Decidueye, I choose you!"
Decidueye - "You called?"
Michael - "Think you can knock out these six Electrode that are powering this machine on your own?"
Decidueye - "No problem."
Decidueye made short work of the Electrode, knocking them out and causing the machine to be shut down.
Michael - "Thank you Decidueye. Now things around town should be back to normal."
Lance - "That's good to hear. Now let's get out of here."
The entire group then made their way out of the base and back to the Pokémon Center.
