Chapter 21: Team Rocket's Fully Good? Freeing The Goldenrod Radio Tower!

Upon leaving the Pokémon Center, the party heard a familiar voice from above.

? - "Incoming!"

Yang appeared in the air jumping off the back of her Salamence, then did a superhero landing in front of the rest of the party.

Michael - "Hey Yang. What are you doing here? Also, nice superhero landing."

Yang - "Hehe. Thanks Michael. As for why I'm here. Titus and I heard Team Rocket's broadcast over the radio. So, he decided to watch over the town while I join you guys to help take down Team Rocket."

Michael - "That's good to hear. Having you around makes things that much easier. Now then ladies. Let's get to Goldenrod and stop Team Rocket!"

Girls - "Right!"

Michael and the girls then quickly checked their supplies for the trek to Goldenrod City, along with the fight with Team Rocket that was gonna take place in the Radio Tower. Once they had more than enough, the party quickly set out for Goldenrod's Radio Tower. Upon reaching Goldenrod City, they found Team Rocket grunts all over the city.

Ruby - "So how do we get through all of them Michael?"

Michael - "Simple. We power our way through."

Yang - "I can second that plan. All of us together should let us easily breeze through these guys no problem."

Applejack - "Let's be careful though Yang. The Poison-Types they use are no joke, regardless of their strength level."

Michael - "Applejack's right. Times strength in numbers can overcome even the greatest strategy. We all just need to keep a level head and stay focused. Now let's move!"

Girls - "Right!"

Michael and the girls then rushed to the Radio Tower, making quick work of the grunts blocking the door. They then made quick work of the grunts in front of them, slowly making their way to the Director's room. The party finally makes it to the room, finding the Director sitting in the chair behind his desk.

Director - "Ahem, do you hear me? ...I am the Director. We have decided to broadcast wonderful shows to praise Team Rocket! Everyone, I don't want to hear you complain. Just do a good job to..."

The 'Director' suddenly noticed Michael and the girls to his left. He then jumped out of the seat.

'Director' - "Yikes! I am busy impersonating the... Who are you?"

The impostor then quickly recognized Michael's face.

'Director' - "...Oh no, it's you again, Michael?"

Michael - "And you are?"

The impostor revealed themselves to be Petrel.

Petrel - "No, no, no! I was pretending to be the Director to influence the entire Johto Region to support Team Rocket! But this time I won't hold back! Give me all you got! Go Weezing!"

Michael - "Espeon I choose you! Use Psychic!"

Espeon quickly one-shot Petrel's Weezing. He then brought out five more Weezing, but Espeon quickly turned them all aside as well.

Petrel - "Ok, ok. I'll tell you where he is. Listen carefully. We stashed the real Director in the underground warehouse. It's at the far end of the Goldenrod Tunnel. I am a nice guy. I will give you the Basement Key to get to the underground warehouse. Take it with gratitude! Hahaha... I doubt a group of kids like you will get that far."

Michael and the girls then quickly left the Director's room and made their way to the Goldenrod Tunnel. While making their way to the underground warehouse's entrance, the group came across another Kimono Girl.

Kimono Girl - "Team Rocket members in black suits have been running around... I was wondering what was going on. So, you took on Team Rocket?"

Michael - "Yes we have been."

Kimono Girl - "You are impressive! You may be able to face the legendary Poké..."

The Kimono Girl then suddenly stopped herself.

Kimono Girl - "Hahaha! Never mind. I must go now."

The Kimono Girl then quickly left.

Michael - "That's four of them now."

Twilight - "You have an idea of what she was talking about Michael?"

Michael - "I do. But I won't say anything for now in case I'm somehow wrong."

While walking over to the underground warehouse's entrance, Michael already had his answer.

Michael - "No questions she was talking about THOSE two legendary Pokémon."

Michael then inserted the Basement Key and unlocked the door.

Michael - "Ok we're in."

Upon entering the underground warehouse, Michael led the party in solving numerous puzzles and mazes of hallways. Upon reaching the center of the warehouse, they found the real Director, whose name was Jimmy.

Director Jimmy - "Who are you all and what are you doing here?"

Michael - "Just a group of friends working together to stop Team Rocket from taking over Johto."

Director Jimmy - "Thank you for that then. And what of the radio tower?"

Twilight - "Team Rocket's overtaken it already."

Director Jimmy - "That's not good. Here. Take this."

Jimmy handed Michael a Card Key.

Director Jimmy - "There should be some closed shutters on the 3rd floor. Use that Card Key to open them. Please hurry. There's no telling what damage they could do to the region."

Ruby - "You can count on us sir."

The party then left the underground warehouse and returned to the Radio Tower, arriving on the 3rd floor to the shutters they passed by earlier. Michael then showed the Card Key and the shutters opened. As they made their way up, the party ran into Proton.

Proton - "Now, wait just one second! Aren't you the one that got in our way at Slowpoke Well? I see... You're doing all of this because you want to make me angry. Be careful! But since you seem to wish it, I'll show you the full extent of a Team Rocket Executive's wrath! Go Crobat!"

Michael - "Espeon I choose you! Psy Shadow Gem!"

Espeon quickly knocked out her opponent before Proton could even give a command.

Proton - "Crobat return! Go Weezing!"

Michael - "Psy Shadow Gem again!"

Espeon once again knocked out her opponent with ease. Proton then sighed in relief.

Proton - "You may have won this time... But all you did was make Team Rocket's wrath grow..."

After swiftly defeating Proton, the party made their way onto the Observation Deck, taking a few trips back and forth on the elevator to get everyone together. They then walked around to the other end of the Observation Deck to confront Ariana.

Ariana - "Oh? You managed to get this far...? You must be quite the Trainer. We intend to take over this Radio Tower and officially announce our return. That should bring my dear husband back to his senses. We will regain our former glory... I refuse to let you interfere with our plans! Go Arbok!"

Michael - "Delphox I choose you!"

Twilight - "You're going with Delphox?"

Michael - "Wanted to give Espeon a break. Anyway. Psy Flame!"

Delphox quickly fired off her combo attack, knocking out Arbok in a single hit.

Ariana - "Arbok return! Go Murkrow!"

Michael - "Delphox return! Delcatty I choose you! Thunder Ice!"

Delcatty also quickly knocked out Murkrow in a single hit.

Ariana - "Murkrow return! Go Vileplume!"

Michael - "Delcatty return! Get back out there Delphox! Psy Flame to end it!"

Much like with Arbok, Delphox also quickly knocked out Vileplume. Ariana fell to her knees in disbelief.

Ariana - "No! Forgive me, Giovanni! How could this be...? Our dreams have come to naught. Was I not up to the task after all?"

? - "You never were to begin with."

Giovanni came out from around the corner.

Ariana - "Giovanni... I..."

Giovanni got down to Ariana's level and gently hugged her.

Giovanni - "It's ok. I'm not angry with you."

Ariana - "But I..."

Giovanni - "I made that deal with Michael for a reason. So Team Rocket could be seen as the good guys this time."

Giovanni then helped Ariana to her feet and led her away.

Ruby - "Will she be ok?"

Michael - "I say the both of them will be just fine."

? - "There you all are."

Director Jimmy then appeared.

Michael - "Hello there, Jimmy. We got you the Radio Tower back."

Director Jimmy - "And I'm very thankful to you all for that. Here. A present from me and the staff. I already know you've earned the right to it."

Michael took the present from Director Jimmy. In a small box were a pair of wings, one a rainbow of colors, and the other one made of pure silver.

Michael - "These are...!"

Michael then quickly closed the box and placed it in his coat pocket.

Michael - "Thank you for the gift, Jimmy. I'll make sure to take great care of it."

Director Jimmy - "Thank you Michael. That means a lot for me to hear."

Michael - "Come along girls. Let's get ready for our trip to Clair's hometown of Blackthorn City."

The girls quickly followed Michael, massively curious about the gift Jimmy gave him.
